JavaScript - Javascript Function Works In Ie 6 But Not In Firefox Or Ie 7&8

I have PHP application and use javascript to download a file that is stored in the application. It works perfectly in FF but does not work in IE8. It does not even give an error.

I tried to debug it with alert but it goes to the checkfile_newsletter(); function but does not trigger the alert in download(this.href); when run on IE8 but in FF it works properly.

Please help me to resolve this.

Hi friends..
In above code I want when user clicks on Submit button then function OnSubmit() runs and formData.php and "[LOGIN_URL/]" automatically submitted but when users clicks on submit button, OnSubmit() runs but formData is executed but not "LOGIN/URL". Even it not give any errors like ""LOGIN/URL" file not found" etc. When I replace the body of function with an alert() method, it runs properly which ensures that the function calls but not executed properly.
Can anyone tell what is wrong in above code????

Hey all,

1) When clicking on a list in an accordion, it should change the quicktime movie playing in a main window area. It works in firefox but not in safari. The variable imgTitle holds the expected output (e.g. '../images/Intro-1.mov'). It changes the src attribute of the embed tag. This change works in Firefox where the new movie plays on click. However, when clicking the list item in safari, nothing happens.

2) There is a problem in firefox as well in that the movie overlays everything else on page, even though it should be behind the text. Positioning would be tedious given that there's many nested elements and I would have to set relative positioning to the entire page. Any reason for this behavior of embed tags?

I have built a simple page for where I work, nothing complex going on here at all. But for some reason it won't run the Javascript functions in Firefox. Sarfari and Chrome work fine.

It's not calling any external files or anything, like I said super simple. So if anyone can go to the page, view the source, take a look and let me know what I am missing here I would be greatly appreciative.

I am not entirely sure what I am doing wrong here, and I have been looking at this for ages, so apologies in advance if I have become so bleary eyed I can't see something simple.

I use php to create buttons based on values pulled for a table. The problem I have is when you click on the first button the javascript function works great, when you click on the next button you get the same output even though it should be different results. I am working in ff and I can see on my firebug console that the javascript function is being called, but it is not passing the new value of the second or third button, it just keeps repassing the value of the first button. So not entirely sure where I am going wrong here.

I'm trying to toggle a class and one works and the other does not and I don't know why. I'm just getting my feet wet with jquery and javascript and I figured this was a pretty easy task to take on! Maybe.

The first function works with open, so I figured I'd just use opposite on closed! Ha! I don't think so!

In the end within those function there is an element in a form on that page it's hidden. I'd like to change the value from a 0 to 1 for vice versa. That' will be my next step. If you could give me a little nudge in the right direction I'd appreciate it! But first understanding why one works and the other does not, that is the primary mission!

Hi,

I've been trying to solve this problem for the past few hours and I'm at my wit's end.

I have a script that runs through all the div elements on the page, and then if the div's background is a certain color, it increments a counter by 0.5 and then outputs the result into a separate div tag.

This works flawlessly in IE, however I cannot get it to work in Firefox.

The strange thing is, if I omit the loop and just use the colorToHex on one specific element in the divs array (ie. divs[2]) it works in Firefox.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm making a Google Map that reads info from a database and pulls Twitter usernames from it to plot points on a map. In the infowindow of these points I have some code that displays the Twitter users latest tweet. There's alot of code for this map so i'll only show you the part i'm working on:

var html is where it's all happening. I'm using the Twitter script from http://limetouch.com/article/valid-x...vascript-code/ and I have it laid out with all them ' + ' to break it up so it doesn't end the actual javascript used to create the map.

I'm new to Javascript so I don't know too much. I know that this method is a really backwards way of doing it, but it works for Firefox. I'm able to retrieve the users latest tweet when I click on their map marker.

What I want to know is why it doesn't work in any other browser? I've tried IE7+8, Google Chrome, Opera, and Safari and no tweet displays.

Sub-question: While a tweet does display in Firefox, the infowindow doesn't resize with the dynamic content. Any way to fix that?

Hello. When a user visits index.html on my site, they input their email address. The form redirects them to "confirmed.html", the form also writes a cookie with their email address.

When the user gets to confirmed.html, I use an "if/else" statement. If there is a cookie (email address), I append ("#"+user_email) to the window location. I do this so that when the user shares with "addthis" tool, I will know who is sharing. Unfortunately addthis only shares the current page, so I want new users to the site to be redirected to index.html

My code works in firefox, but not safari. In safari it just seems to redirect to index nomatter what. The user never even sees confirmed.html.

everything in the above function works except the setTimeout itself the script doesn't break and i get no errors in the firebug

initially window.timer is set to 0 and everytime refresh_feed() executes window.timer gets reset to 0
refresh_timer() gets called up by the return from an ajax call(again works in chrome and ie8)

any help is appreciated
