JavaScript - Check All, Submit Then Redirects... Twice?
Edit: Please move me, I think it's the wrong forum!
PHP Code: Adding this counts twice which proves that the page redirects twice, how to fix? <?php session_start(); if(isset($_SESSION['views'])) $_SESSION['views'] = $_SESSION['views']+ 1; else $_SESSION['views'] = 1; echo "views = ". $_SESSION['views']; ?> For some reason this form redirects twice to the same page Adding the form action to users.php doesn't help 'cause the checkboxes don't retrieve the updated data. PHP Code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function un_check(){ for (var i = 0; i < document.frmactive.elements.length; i++) { var e = document.frmactive.elements[i]; if ((e.name != 'allbox') && (e.type == 'checkbox')) { e.checked = document.frmactive.allbox.checked; }}} //--> </script> </head> <body> <form action="" method="post" name="frmactive" id="frmactive"> <div align="right"> <input name="activate" type="submit" id="activate" value="Activate" class="adduser" /> <input name="deactivate" type="submit" id="deactivate" value="Deactivate" class="positive" /> </div> <?php // Check variable... if(isset($activate)){ for($i=0;$i<$count;$i++){ $user_id = $checkbox[$i]; // update accordingly... $sql = "UPDATE users SET status = 'Y' WHERE id = '$user_id'"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); } /*** *** No clue why this is needed but if you don't refresh the page - you don't see the updated data? *** ***/ // if successful redirect if($result){ echo '<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=users.php">'; } // *** } if(isset($deactivate)){ for($i=0;$i<$count;$i++){ $user_id = $checkbox[$i]; // update accordingly... $sql = "UPDATE users SET status = 'N' WHERE id = '$user_id'"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); } /*** *** No clue why this is needed but if you don't refresh the page - you don't see the updated data? *** ***/ // if successful redirect if($result){ echo '<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=users.php">'; } // *** } mysql_close(); ?> ... HTML data ... </form> Is there a better way to update MySQL via checkboxes? Similar TutorialsI have 3 check boxes and one submit button when the submit button is hit I need it to direct to one of 3 pages depending on which check box is checked. can anyone help with this Thanks! Hi I have a problem but im not sure if it could be solved by Javascript or PHP but either is good. I have a form with a text box where users can enter a 10 digit code. The 10 digit code can be just numbers/letters (eg. 0123456789 or abcdefghij) or it can be a mixture (eg. 0a1b2c3d4e). What I would like is if the user enters a code which is a mixture of numbers and letters then the submit url goes to mixed.php If the user enters a code which just has letters or numbers then the submit url goes to sole.php Anybody can help me? I know its possible to change the url from selecting radio buttons so I hope this can be achievable. I hope that makes sense...let me know if you need more info. Thanks guys! Hello, I have the following DIV tag Code: <div id = "cbContainer"> </div> The div is initially hidden as the display is set to none. I have one text input in my form. Depending upon the changed text in that textbox, there is a javascript function which creates a list of checkboxes and by using the innerHTML, the above div is filled up with the check boxes like shown in the code below: Code: var chkboxes = ''; for(var r = 0; r < related.length; r++) { chkboxes = chkboxes + '<div class ="versionswidth">'+ '<input type="checkbox" name="version" value = related[r] />'+ related[r] + '</div>'; } var div = document.getElementById("cbContainer"); div.innerHTML = chkboxes; div display is then set as "block" which makes the div visible. The problem is that on form submission, the input of selected checkboxes is not submitting. I will be grateful for any help. Thank you. Hi, I'm trying to make a form that when you click "submit", the original page goes somewhere, and it also creates a popup for the action URL. Currently, I can get the popup portion, but the can't get the original window to redirect somewhere else. this is what I have in the head. Code: <SCRIPT TYPE="text/javascript"> <!-- function popupform(myform, windowname) { if (! window.focus) return true; window.open('', windowname, 'height=200,width=400,scrollbars=no'); myform.target=windowname; return true; } //--> </SCRIPT> And this is what I have in the body Code: <form id="update" action="update.php" method="POST" name="update" onSubmit="popupform(this, 'join')"> Do you see anything wrong with this code... Code: <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> if(GetCookie('upgrade8') != null) { location.href="cookie-in.html" } </SCRIPT> Also tried this (didn't work either)... Code: <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> var readCookie = getCookie("upgrade"); if (readCookie("upgrade") != null){ // if cookie already exists, go to url document.location = "lesson1"; } else { // else go someplace else document.location = "lesson2"; }; </script> I've tried posting in both the head and body. Still can't get it to redirect. I'm a little new to this. Your help would be appreciated. thanks Hi guys, i've been the last few days around a script that i can't make it work, i'm a beginner in javascript so if you guys could help me i'd appreciated. This script is a search engine, when you look for something say the word "titanic" , he shows you a list of results with numbers, being the first link with the higher number (kinda like a score), and then after u click the link you want he goes to the respective page. Now i want him to skip the results page, and directly open the first link that he founds on the page. I'm looking for code which does the following: When a visitor visits my website and clicks anywhere on the page, (regardless of where the mouse clicks) it will automatically redirect him to another site. I think an event listener might be a solution, but I'm not sure. Thanks a lot for any help on this If possible, I would like there to be a 2 second time delay before it does the redirection. Can it actaully send a form when a person uses 'enter' in a text field. When I use this submit, it triggers my validation which is great. Code: <input type="submit" value="OnSubmit validate" /> However this way doesn't seem to trigger my validation although It may solve the above form send problem (if that realy exists). How do I get it to act the same as real submit so it will trigger validation like onsubmit above? Code: <input type="button" value="Send Feedback" onclick="this.form.submit()" /> LT does any of that make sense? all ideas helpful and appreciated I have created some online software which uses form data to submit to another page. The problem is that I have other submit buttons in the same form which submit to different pages (depending on which button is pressed). The first submit button works fine but all the others only work once. Code: <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button1' onclick="wbform.action='page1.php'; target='mainFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button2' onclick="wbform.action='page2.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button3' onclick="wbform.action='page3.php'; target='topFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button4' onclick="wbform.action='page4.php'; target='topFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button5' onclick="wbform.action='page5.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button6' onclick="wbform.action='page6.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> Any ideas my friends? I've got the following 2 fields in my form: <input type="file" name="filename" id="filename" value="filename"> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Upload Image" /> Now I want to hide both of them as soon as the submit button is pressed. Problem is that I'm a javascript noob and I can't find it with google :S Can someone help me? Hi guys. I'm working a bunch of pre existing code on a CMS. Just after a quick fix. Doing a show/hide thing on a particular div somewhere on the page depending if a checkbox is ticked or not. Currently there is 3 checkboxes that are dynamically added through the CMS. Here's simplified version of the form: Code: <form id="simplesearch" name="simplesearch"> <input type="checkbox" onclick='showhidefield(this.value)' name="meta_data_array_search_criteria[custom_profile_type][]" value="5" class="input-checkboxes" /> <input type="checkbox" onclick='showhidefield(this.value)' name="meta_data_array_search_criteria[custom_profile_type][]" value="4" class="input-checkboxes" /> </form> And here's the javascript I was playing with. Code: function showhidefield(id) { if(document.simplesearch.meta_data_array_search_criteria[custom_profile_type][''].checked) { document.getElementById("profile_fields_wrapper_" + id).style.visibility = "visible"; } else { document.getElementById("profile_fields_wrapper_" + id).style.visibility = "hidden"; } } Problem I'm having is how do i do a check to see if those checkboxes are checked in the javascript with those name arrays? How do i separate them? 'm guessing I have to loop through them or something?Hopefully that make senses - it's late here and I'm losing the plot Any pointers would be gratefully welcomed Hi all, I'm designing something to addon to an existing product. I'm struggling with some javascript problems. I want to submit a hidden field when you click on an image button, rather than it being an actual submit button. It's going to submit the value "1" to a PHP page, but I don't want it to actually have to GO to the PHP page, just submit it within the webpage. Is this possible? Thanks I am trying to auto submit a login form remotely using .submit() . It's submitting, but for some reason if I use submit() the login isn't processing. However, if I turn off the auto submit and use an actual submit button it logs in just fine. Now, in the form tag there is a call onsubmit for some validation, does .submit() trigger that form onsubmit="" function? Is there something that happens differently when a user clicks a button verses the .submit(). Thanks! Paul I have a text input box that resets to blank when the user enters an alpha character, it also checks for the number 0 as it has to be greater than 0 too... when I submit the form it is blank the variable changes to blank (as I use parseInt to convert it to an integer at a later stage) What can I do to check and see if it is NaN value? (I've tried isNaN() and it did not do what I wanted it to) this code is supposed to ask the users name and say how many letters in it get 2 random numbers ask user to add them if right say Well Done! if wrong say Sorry, you are wrong. when i run this nothing comes up whats wrong? thanx Code: <script> var firstName = ""; var numLetters = 0; firstName = prompt("Hi, what's your first name?", ""); numLetters = firstName.length; alert ("Did you know there are " + numLetters + " letters in your name?"); var num1 = Math.floor(Math.random()*9) + 1; var num2 = Math.floor(Math.random()*9) + 1; var answer; var useranswer; answer = num1+num2; useranswer = promt("What is" + num1 + "+" + num2 + "?"); If (answer = useranswer) { alert("Well done!"); } else { alert("Sorry, you are wrong."); } </script> Hi, I want submit a form when highlight options select value = true. I did the following code, but it not works. Could someone help me to fix it? Quote: <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"> if onfocus="url.select()" Return true; { document.form1.submit(); } </script> stickers I have a basic understanding of Javascript, and I have posted here before. And my question is rather simple. I work for a company that moderates a virtual world. We have a mod tool but its kind of goofy. We have to edit a URL and then send the URL in a browser. It's a long and boring process. I am looking to have a basic form that puts all the required information together and submits it. What I can't figure out is how to submit a URL in javascript but not load it in a new window. This is a sample of what I currently use in another javascript used by the company: Code: theReport = replace(theReport,'\n','<br>'); var disp_setting="toolbar=no,location=no,directories=yes,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,width=480, height=640, left=400, top=0"; var docprint=window.open("","",disp_setting); docprint.document.open(); docprint.document.write('<html><head><title>Report Generator</title>'); docprint.document.write('</head><body>'); docprint.document.write(theReport); docprint.document.write('</body></html>'); docprint.document.close(); docprint.focus(); |
