JavaScript - Loading Multiple Swfs Per Box
Hey, so I'm pretty much a total noob when it comes to javascript, and was basically wondering how I would go about loading multiple flash games per area, as apposed to having every SWF listed on the page, which would take up an ungodly amount of space. What I basically want is for one box aligned to the left side of the page and a link to each game on the right side, and when the user clicks on a specific link, that corresponding SWF will load in that one box. If this is possible, how exactly would I go about doing this? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Jesse On this site indpe Basically, I have a total of three different JavaScripts that need to be loaded when the user opens the page; let's call them script_a.js, script_b.js, and script_c.js script_a.js and script_b.js each need to be loaded on every page; however, they do very different things (one displays text, the other creates buttons), and in the interest of readability and ease of editing later, I want to keep them separate. script_c.js only needs to be loaded on one page; there will be a few variants (script_c2, script_c3, etc), but again, each of them only needs to be loaded on a single page. The scripts are also too large and unwieldy for me to put them directly into the HTML (basically because I have to do a lot of different switches, and conditionals, and output formatting). At present, the only way I know how to load a JavaScript is to use window.onload, so obviously I'm getting into the issue of competing onLoads. Any help would be appreciated! Hello all, I have the following code to load a new html page into the 'new content' div once the user scrolls to the bottom of the page. It all works fine. No problems, except I would like it to pause for a moment whilst it is loading, and show a loading box div at the bottom of the screen as it loads the new content, just to give some positive feedback for the user. So the new div would sit in a fixed position at 'bottom:0px;' and have a loading image inside it. Is this easy to do? I am building a website that will have multiple image swaps on multiple pages. I am building this in wordpress, and I'm guessing that means my approach will be different than if I wasn't using wordpress. Here's how one page would work: There are 10 images shown. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. When number 1 is clicked on, I want a new image - 1a. When 2 is clicked on, 2a. So there are 20 different images in all on a given page. Also, I want the user to be able to click on the image again to restore the original image. I would prefer onclick to onmouseover. There will be literally dozens of pages like this on the site, managed by wordpress, so hundreds of images to swap. Basically the first image is a question - the second image is the answer. Is this possible? Hi there, Firstly my title may be a bit misleading as I don't i'm not sure how to do it. My situation is that I have a small piece of javascript that 'cycles' through a bunch of URL's (the URL's are reports produced by SSRS). The problem is that each time the javascript loads a new URL it has to generate the report, so I have a few seconds where the screen says 'Generating Report'. What I would like is a system that never displays the Generating Report, instead I would like to maybe pre-load the next report so it is ready to show instantly. They appear fine but no loading bar appears... The loading bar 'gif' is in the 'loading div id'. There is a 'display:none;' in the css on the loading div and the portfolios div. Any reason why the 'loading' div doesn't display but the portfolios does? I want the loading gif to show whilst the 'portfolios' is loading basically when the user hits the bottom of the page. It has a plugin to make payments to paypal. but I need it to work in a new window, and the link won't do so. Don't suppose anybody sees an issue here? It seems to me that just adding target=_new to this would work. but it doesn't. Still opens the page in the same window. Is there a way to load up an external JS file outside of the head tag? I've got an "AJAX" web app that's loading several pages simply by changing the innerHTML property of a single div. The JS source is getting to be rather large, so I'd like to split it up into manageable, organized portions. Is there some way to, using javascript or PHP, load another javascript into the browser dynamically?

Problem is, it's 300 KB so it loads after everything else has already loaded, leaving a huge blank space where the .swf is suppossed to be until it finishes downloading. Is there a way I can tell my page to pre-load the .swf before everything else so that all elements in my page look like they load at the same? So again the top code block renders the ads and the lower code block just shows the javascript code from the ad provider. Any help to get this to work in jquery would be grateful. Thanks So I'm creating a game and decided to use a canvas for the map. The map is a big pictures 500kb+ (6400x6400px) and the canvas size is 320x320 so I am displaying only part of the image at a time and have the page reload on button click for database purposes. What I'd like help with is performance. Currently it's taking a few secs to reload every time and it seems that it causes some cpu strain (can't switch tabs while loading). Could I stop the canvas from reloading the image each time the page is reloaded and if so then how? Can I make the canvas only load a part of the image, if so then how? If neither is possible any tips, solutions how to solve the performance issues? |
