JavaScript - Adding A Hyperlink To Text In Javascript

Hello everyone,

Here's the scenario I wish to plan out.

I have an index.htm page ready. I want to be able to put in javascript code into the HTML coding that will write the ip address of the actual server that is hosting the website into a hidden text box. Then I want to insert this ip address into a hyperlink in the original index.htm to link to another html page (this will be a SSL secure page instead i.e. https://<ip address>).



Also vice versa. (With SSL index.htm page have code that writes ip into hidden text box then hyperlink to the original http index page)

I'm not that familiar with classic ASP or Javascript but need to change an exisiting program to do the following:

Add a link to a page but only for certain marketers.

I have a classic ASP page that has a couple of hyperlinks for each marketer that is selected from a combobox drop down. The new hyperlink is to be added but only for select marketers. The rest don't even get to see this new hyperlink.

I added a function in Javascript as such:

Now I need to check if True then display the hyperlink, so I came up with this, which I know is not correct:

I want to be able to check the fuction for each marketer and if return is TRUE, then produce the hyperlink which will open a data file if clicked.

Can someone help? I'm not sure how to use the <%IF statement in conjunction with a javascript function that checks for a return value, and based on that return value, does some action.

As of right now I have a code that will work in IE but wont work in FireFox...go figure. Basically what I want to have happen is when you type in an area code it will provide an output in a predetermined area of the page.

For Example:

Input- 512

Output - Austin, TX

The code that I have doesn't work with firefox and I was just wondering if there was a code that would allow that to happen. Thanks!

I'm creating sort of a chat with images, the problem is, when i am adding
new data to the DIV (either if it's blank or a new message), it also refreshes
the old data, therefore the images are being reloaded.

document.getElementById("chatwindow").innerHTML += new_data;

I want to add that new data without having the entire "innerHTML" of that
div being replaced.

I just joined the forums (literally) and just started coding (mainly with CSS and HTML) about 3-4 weeks ago. I'd really like to get into JavaScript to make cool things happen on my website. With that being said, I've come up with a pretty cool idea but am not sure how to go about my problem.

Enough with the chit chat. What I'm trying to do is add text to a user's input. For instance, if they write "Hello", the function should automatically add "World" to the output. I'd ideally like for the output to be searched on Google (think search engine) with the results displayed on a new page.

Sup yo, I need to add text in a <textarea>, but i can only append text at the end.
Is there any way to add text to where the cursor is currently at?

Hey guys, I have a script which adds more text fields to a div in a form, but when it adds a new field the text in the others is cleared. :S

I have a script which opens an HTML page and passes the current URL to a form on the page. I'm also using RokBox, which open a window as an overlay on the current page rather than as a popup. It is triggered by adding rel="rokbox" to any link. For instance, the following link opens moreinfo.htm using RokBox:

Problem is the link doesn't pass the URL. The following code passes the URL but doesn't trigger RokBox:

Is there a way to add rel="rokbox" to the script? Or maybe pass the URL with the link instead? Thanks!

I have found a code to help me learn how to add forms in javascript, but it's limited to text input forms.

Where the inputs sum1 and sum2 are text fields you put whatever numbers you want in. That works fine. Great.

Now what I'm having trouble with is modifying the code so that it will add one form with an input number with a form that spits out a randomly generated number.

This is what I'm using for my random number generator. So basically I want to be able to put, say, 5, into the input text field above this. And then click on the d20 button to get a random number, say, 15, and then have the first code add the inputted 5 with the randomly generated 15. Is this possible?

I have a simple problem. I want to add the current page's url to a link, like this:

After the 'a=' I need to add javascript that will return the current url. It can be the full url (example: http://www.codingforums.com/newthrea...=newthread&f=2) or a partial one (example: /newthread.php?do=newthread&f=2).

I am trying to set up a web that new times will be displayed when they add current times to a form.

here is the static HTML

I would like to have the new times to change dynamically as they type in either (or both) input boxes

How can I build a table that prompts user for number of rows and then number of columns and then builds it based on user input?
