At the above URL if you scroll down the page a little bit on the left bottom of the site you will see a image appear with an up arrow. If you click it it takes you to the top of the page. Could someone give directions on installing this script on a website. I would like to add this feature to my website. Thanks in advance for the help Similar TutorialsHi, I am Aditya. I am explaining below the exact scenario where I need the help: I am developing a web application in which I need to integrate a javascript/html editor on some of the web pages and then provide 'Edit' buttons on those web pages so that users can edit the content on that partciular html/jsp page (like editing in wiki pages) and then, when they add some content and click on submit button, the new content should appear on the web page with all the formatting (i.e. bold, italics, color and so on) which was applied by user when he was entering the text. Now, I need help for the below issues: 1. Please suggest me a good javascript/html editor (freely downloadable) which I can use to integrate with my web pages. 2. Once the user has entered some content using the above javascript editor, how to make that content reach the server and update the corresponding web page. I am new to web development, so may be that these questions are too simple. But, I need some help from you. Waiting for your reply, Thanks, Aditya Hello, I don't know if this can be done in Javascript, or requires any other language but i was wondering if this would be possible. I would like to embed this Javascript code in to a PHP file and then for it to run automatically upon the PHP file loading: Code: <td class="smallDesc"> <a name="fb_share" type="button_count" href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php">Share</a><script src="http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect.php/js/FB.Share" type="text/javascript"></script> </td> The Javascirpt is the Facebook Share button that basically allows users that have Facebook to share the page there currently on in their Facebook status by pressing the button, but if there not logged in it shows the login page, not a problem just continue the script. The current button i which is what i want to load automatically in the PHP file is located here, to test the functionalilty just click "Share" button in blue.. http://watch-movies-online.anyfilman...-Movie-17.html To summarise, i would like the above Javascript code to execute automatically upon pageload of this PHP file.. http://www.watch-movies-online.anyfi...p://google.com. If that could be done, and if this also is possible.. i would like for the "Share" button on the external page that is loaded from the Javascript code above to be clicked automatically so in effect when ever someone visits the PHP page after clicking "Click Here to Watch/Stream 2012 Online For Free" on this page it will automatically load the Facebook Share box, and automatically click the "Share" Button and then close the page if possible, but not required. Please feel free to ask any questions, i'll be happy to answer. Thanks in advance. Thanks in advance for any ideas! Hi, I am very new to Javascript and am having some difficulties with implementing two forms on the same page. The page in question is http://www.devoteddomains.com/contac...ed-domains.asp. The form at the top appears on every page and works on all of the other pages except this one. When you try to complete the form it validates the second form on the page. The code for the top form can be found he http://www.devoteddomains.com/web-de...vices-cta.html (it is an include file). The two scripts that I am using are as follows: Top Form: http://www.devoteddomains.com/scripts/scripts.js Contact Page Form: http://www.devoteddomains.com/scripts2/scripts.js Can someone please help! Cheers, Peter I have a very simple problem, but I can't find the answer. How do I run an html page?? <script type="text/javascript" > var curdate=new Date(); if (curdate.getMonth()+1 ==1){ document.write("<img src='Images/Menu Pictures/05/homepage.gif'>"); the above line works document.write("<href src='menu05.htm'>"); The above line doesn't work } else if (curdate.getMonth()+1==2){ Hello Guys, I need some help here.. I have a page that has a grid on it and I have a hidden div(below the grid). When the link is clicked inside the grid it opens the hidden div using the following code for the link in the grid. Here is my code with the PHP id that I need to pass PHP Code: foreach($ct->data as $key => $value){ $ct->data[$key][3]='<a href=#" onclick="part2('.$ct->data[$key][0].');" href="javascript:void();">'.$ct->data[$key][3].'</a>'; Here is the code in my head Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function part2(id) { var part2 = document.getElementById('part2'); if ( part2.className == 'hidden' ) { part2.className = 'visible'; document.getElementById('message').InnerHTML = 'This is the ID: '+id } else { part2.className = 'hidden'; } } </script> Added this to my hidden div to show the id Code: <span id=message></span> Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks, Dan The website I'm updating is peachbasketonline.com. I am not the original web designer. I'm trying to reach an install page that is located in the directory, but anytime I go to a page outside of the site navigation (i.e. part of site navigation: About Us works fine, versus a page outside of site navigation: peachbasketonline.com/anythingelse) it automatically takes you back to the home page. Is there enough info here for someone to tell me if javascript is doing this? I just don't know what I'm looking for. Hi guys, i have a code where if you press on a word some words disappear and new ones appear and then when you press on the word again everything goes back to normal. I am trying to get it so that after the first click if i press back it should go back to normal instead of having to press the word again but all i am getting at the moment when i press back is the the page with the changed text. I have a tab that scrolls through images in a frame through javascript. It works in one page, but not the other. I'm trying to get the page not working to work, obviously. I also have checked and temporarily fixed validation errors, and that doesn't help. Working page: www.happydogwebproductions.com Same images in different page: http://www.happydogwebproductions.co...--css-websites I've been trying the "BDirect lists" on both pages. Java: "new SimpleSlide". Just when I think I am close, I can't get it to work. Going mental. Thanks for any help The latest version of Opera for some reason will open popup windows using the same magnification as the parent window. For example, if you've zoomed a page to 150%, popups from the page also open in 150% magnification. This may not seem like a problem but it is, because the javascript for popups must specify the size of the popup window. Therefore, if any magnification occurs the window that opens will be too small for the enclosed text or image. The simplest solution would be if I can install a javascript onto a page that will require it to open up in 100% (non-magnified) mode. Any idea if this is possible? If not, is there any other solution? Much thanks. Quote: Originally Posted by mlseim hmmm .... sort of stumped. It's using the same code that I had above (in post #2). how would you put <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.catpin.com/bumper_sticker3.php"></script> into a function for javascript to call this php file? Hay guys, here is my problem. I need to make Javascript code which will enable me to search my page for key words. The particular page consists of nearly 30 scinetific achivements, all sorted by the scinetists that are responisbile for those acihevemnets. You can say that the page consists of 30 paragraphs. What i should do, is make a javasrpit code that searches the page by putting in a key word, finding all the paragraphs with that keyword, and then displaying only those paragraphs, while hiding all the other ones which don't have that key word.Im not really sure if this should happen in a pop up window, on the same page or new page, but the overall format must be the same as it was on the original page with 30 paragraphs( like displeying the same page but with only, for example, 3-4 paragraphs). I dont expect anyone to write me the whole code, but any hint or advise would be helpfull. Also if anyone knows of any code here on this forum, or somewhere on the web which might help me, I'd apprecite if u would give me the link. Hi I was wondering how to redirect to another page when a button is clicked using javascript. Should I use the goSite() function, or window.location.href =
Morning Guys, i have a little issue i need to tackle and i belive Javascript is the way forward on this, so looking for some pointers/help on the idea i have in mind. so basically i have a website and its going to be selling severall products. now i have a "Global" navigation which stays the same on every page throughout the website. now obviously if this is set into the master template all the links will be the same. 1 of my links will be a "buy now" button, i want this to never need changing but i want the link to direct to the correct purchasing page depending on which product is being described in the content area... so im guessing its going to need to fetch some sort of Value/Variable out the content and then use that to redirect to the correct page via that single "buy now" button.. any ideas or input cheers, ant. Hey there, I'm using the service from Maxmind to get user's postal code, what I wanna do is pass the value to the next page using GET function.. I am quite new to PHP, however I think I should name the variable first and call it on the next page right? But it doesn't seem to work. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks! Knowing just enough about javascript to get myself in trouble, I have put three timed javascripts to appear from 18 December to the 1 January on three pages of my sister's website. The scripts are on the main index for the site; the index page for the bibliography folder /bibliography/ and in the education folder on just one page: /education/educationlinks.html. Part one of the script inserts the css file; part two of the script inserts a "snowing" script and part three inserts a "make it stop snowing/let it snow" script. Everything is working perfectly for the main index page and the bibliography page. But I cannot figure out why the 3rd "make it stop snowing/let it snow" refuses to show up on the page in the education folder (the snowing javascript IS working on all three pages). There are no errors being thrown and the education page validates. This is the coding for the 3rd script: Code: // snowscript part 3: Show the script between 19-31 Dec and 1 Jan var date = new Date(); var d = date.getDate(); var m = date.getMonth() + 1; dm = d + m; if (m = 12) { if (d > 18) { document.write('<script src="/scripts/snowlinkswitch.js" type="text/javascript" id="snow"></script>'); } else { document.write(''); } } else if (dm == 1,1) { document.write('<script src="/scripts/snowlinkswitch.js" type="text/javascript"></script>'); } else { document.write(''); } This is the coding for snowlinkswitch.js Code: function myhref(){ document.getElementById('myAnchor').innerHTML="please let it snow!"; document.getElementById('myAnchor').href=location.href; document.getElementById('myAnchor').title="let it snow! let it snow!"; document.getElementById('myAnchor').onclick="location.reload(); startstop('spanstyle'); return false;"; } // document.write ('<div id="snowlinks"><img src="/images/snow3aa.gif" width="11" height="11" border="0" alt="*"> <a id="myAnchor" href="" onclick="myhref();hidesnow(); return false;" title="please make it stop snowing!">please make it stop snowing!<\/a> <img src="/images/snow3aa.gif" width="11" height="11" border="0" alt="*"></div> '); I would search for a similar occurrence but have no clue about what search words to use. Does anyone here have an idea about what I have done incorrectly that is causing this to happen? Many thanks. E Morris Toronto, Canada I want to run a piece of javascript on a live page that I don't have backend control of. I know it's possible. I've never done it before though. I'm in google chrome. This is what I see. I have no idea what I'm doing Its about this: http://www.wduffy.co.uk/blog/keep-el...omment-page-1/ Everywhere is used for a whole div on some side and when its on the top of the page. But what if its in the middle..? Look here - http://phpbb.bg/viewtopic.php?f=14&p=1013#p1013 Scroll down and then up.Anyway to fix this? I'm working on a site with someone else and they would like the username to be entered in a form on a page, then passed to a second page that says 'Welcome [username]'. I am aware of how to do this using var prompts on the SAME page, but what about different pages. I'd also like to know how secure this is? The name is being used in a page (i.e. login.php) and passed to another page (i.e. welcome.html). The person has requested Javascript. How could this be done? If there is a better way to do so, what is it?
