JavaScript - Help! Finding The Highest Number Of 5

I am having trouble with this program, I cant seem to figure out why this is not working.
Basically i need it to loop though the array and find who has the highest points / if more than one have the same points so i dance off is required.
Can someone please lend a hand driving me mad.

I've written a program which will prompt for a number of cities, Prompt for the name of the city, then prompt for the number of snowfall readings of that city, and then prompt for each of these individual snowfall readings of that city. From this, it adds up each of the individual snowfall readings of that city, and will calculate an average by dividing this figure [the total snowfall] by the total number of readings for that city. This average is used to then classify the city as "not snowy", "mild", or "blizzard". I'm happy to PM my code to anyone willing to help out, as I realise this is a complex structure to visualise perhaps, but I can't post it publicly.

I now have to select the city with the highest average, and name it in an alert output. How is this possible.

Note, I'm not allowed to use functions or arrays. Prompts, alerts, if-then-else, for and while loops are all I can use.

I have a function below where every time a question is submitted, it will add a new row in the table with a textbox which allows numbers entry only. My question is that I don't know how to code these features in this function:

1: I want the text box to be between 0 and 100, so if text box contains a number which is above 100, it will automatically change the number to the maximum number which is 100.

Does any one know how to code this in my function below in javascript:

I am trying to figure out how to make a random number I can plug into a script count down from that number at certain times of the day until it reaches 0. I would like it to reset itself at midnight every day. I'm trying to make it work with a script I found on here that resets itself at midnight every day. So instead of it counting down too fast, it would count down to the next number after a randomly generated number of minutes until it reaches 0. But it wouldn't necessarily have to end at 0 at midnight. It could go from 845 to 323 at the end of the day at a slower pace. Is that possible?

When I used toFixed() method on a number, I thought that this method round a number to a specified approximation, but I got a surprising result, the number became string!
15.23689 .toFixed ( 2 ) ==> "15.24"
So does it convert the number into string?

Can anyone direct me to the source of this carousel or something similar?

Any variable declared (using the var keyword) *inside* a function is ONLY visible inside that function.

So your rand variable can NOT be seen, at all, in your countToRandom( ) function.

Alright so for my website (I've totally revamped it and what not) I want to make a code highlighter for source code / tutorials I've posted.

At the moment I'm just using some css:

Okay, this should be an easy one. I'm a JS newb, so be kind The code I have right now is an autosuggest feature, but currently, it only finds exact matches, not partials. I want it to find partials. I know the line of code I need to rewrite, but I can't figure out what JS function to use.

For example, if a user types "pizza", i want "pepperoni pizza" to show up, not just things that start with "pizza".

Hello, I've been trying the find the (x,y) co-ordinates of an element. I've been using;

document.getElementById(element).style.left

However this doesn't always work in my script. Now, I've googled how to find the position of an element. And come accross many scripts which supposedly all find the position of any object. Some are very long scripts and some are very short all using a variety of methods. Incidently none of which work, they all return (0,0).

I have a question, why would someone create a script to do what one line of code can do? Am I missing something. If I understand why it may help me work out why my script isn't working.

What I'm trying to do is to check the boxes that are the 'item' named item_allseeingeye.jpg each image corresponds to a checkbox so I thought I could make an array to loop through all images and an array to loop through each of the checkboxes to get a matching index so I can check the checkbox.

If anyone knows a better way of doing this I would really appreciate the help!

I'm a bit of a Javascript noob, so please bear with me!

I'm trying to create a piece of code that will check a webpage and replace any instances of a specific line of HTML with another line of HTML.

The code I have so far doesn't work, but I have a feeling that's down to my awful Javascript skills!

For example, in the following code I'd want to replace all instances of <li><a href="index.pdf">Index</a></li> with <li><a href="contents.pdf">Contents</a></li>
