JavaScript - How To Show Iframe Scrollbars Only On Mouseover ?
I have an iFrame on which I wish to display scrollbars ONLY when the mouse is over the iFrame AND the source of the iFrame is larger than the iFrame can display
I am using the following code for the iFrame but believe that I need to add some script to make it work: Code: <iframe src="http://www.mhgoebel.com" frameborder="0" id="frame" width="320" height="356" scrolling="no"> onmouseover="setScrolling('auto')" onmouseout="setScrolling('no')" </iframe> Similar TutorialsI am trying to make it so when I mouseover on one div another div appears. And when I mouse out, the div disappears again. Here's what I have, it's not working. Both divs are always showing. Code: <script> function mover(){ document.getElementById("visiblediv").style.display="block" } function mout() { document.getElementById("visiblediv").style.display="none" } </script> <div id = "div1" onmouseover="mover()" onmouseout="mout()"> Show the div </div> <div id = "visiblediv" style="visibility:visible;border:1px dotted black"> This div is visible </div> Any way I can make this work any better? Am I supposed to have something in my main.css file? I have a concatenated list of member names, with corresponding profile pics. I am trying to implement something similar to Facebook, where when you mouseover the picture or member name, another div appears, such as an "x" or "delete link" which lets you click to delete that member. I tried to implement the a show/hide with the following, but this won't work with me since my list is concatenated, and since you can only have one id per div- this method won't cut it. So, how can I make this happen? Non-working Code: Code: HTML <div > <div id="showhide"> Line 1 </div> <div id="visiblediv" style="display: none;"> Line 2 </div> </div> <div > <div id="showhide"> Line 3 </div> <div id="visiblediv" style="display: none;"> Line 4 </div> </div> <div > <div id="showhide"> Line 5 </div> <div id="visiblediv" style="display: none;"> Line 6 </div> </div> Javascript: <script> function mover(){ document.getElementById("visiblediv").style.display="block" } function mout() { document.getElementById("visiblediv").style.display="none" } document.getElementById('showhide').onmouseover=mover; document.getElementById('showhide').onmouseout=mout; </script> CSS: #visiblediv { visibility:visible; border:1px dotted black; } Hi I am trying to implement a hide/show div, such that when you mouse over a div, another div pop's up below it. Here's what I have so far, but for some reason, only the first div set is working. That is when I mouse over div 1, div 2 shows up. So why isnt it working for divs 3,4 and 5,6? Here's my code: Code: HTML <div > <div id="showhide"> Line 1 </div> <div id="visiblediv" style="display: none;"> Line 2 </div> </div> <div > <div id="showhide"> Line 3 </div> <div id="visiblediv" style="display: none;"> Line 4 </div> </div> <div > <div id="showhide"> Line 5 </div> <div id="visiblediv" style="display: none;"> Line 6 </div> </div> Javascript: <script> function mover(){ document.getElementById("visiblediv").style.display="block" } function mout() { document.getElementById("visiblediv").style.display="none" } document.getElementById('showhide').onmouseover=mover; document.getElementById('showhide').onmouseout=mout; </script> CSS: #visiblediv { visibility:visible; border:1px dotted black; } Any ideas, as to why it's not working? I am creating a page on which I have several div's. They contain an image as background. When I do a mouseover on a div, I want a div (with an image semitransparant), to be placed ontop of it's hovered div. When mouseout the semitransparant div should be hidden. Now I have the following code, it does work, but sometimes on mouseout the semitransparant div isn't hidden (when the mouse moves to quick). Is there a solution for it? PHP Code: echo '<div id="block-'.$BlockNums.'" class="blok '.$BlockStyle.'" onmouseover="document.getElementById(\'message\').style.display=\'block\';" ><img src="images/'.$BlockImg.'.png" width="181"/></div>'; echo '<a href="'.$BlockLink.'" style="display:block;cursor:pointer;"><div id="message" class="disMessage" style="display:none;" onmouseout="document.getElementById(\'message\').style.display=\'none\';"><p>'.$BlockMouse.'</p></div></a>'; And the css: Code: .disMessage { width: 163px; height: 168px; z-index: 1000; position: absolute; padding: 10px 10px 10px 10px; text-align: center; background-image: url("../images/hoverTrans.png"); } .blok { width: 181px; height: 186px; /*border: 1px solid #FE7701;*/ background-image: url("../images/blok.png"); padding: 1px 9px 9px 1px; } Thanks Hello I was looking for a javascript code to show an image in full size on moueover, I use this script on the site Code: function ShowPicture(id,Source) { if (Source=="1"){ if (document.layers) document.layers[''+id+''].visibility = "show" else if (document.all) document.all[''+id+''].style.visibility = "visible" else if (document.getElementById) document.getElementById(''+id+'').style.visibility = "visible" } else if (Source=="0"){ if (document.layers) document.layers[''+id+''].visibility = "hide" else if (document.all) document.all[''+id+''].style.visibility = "hidden" else if (document.getElementById) document.getElementById(''+id+'').style.visibility = "hidden" } } CSS code i use: Code: <style type="text/css"> #Style { position:absolute; visibility:hidden; border:solid 1px #CCC; padding:5px; } </style> On the site to to body I put this html code: Code: <a href="#" onMouseOver="ShowPicture('Style',1)" onMouseOut="ShowPicture('Style',0)">Click Here To Show Image</a> <div id="Style"><img src="/sites/default/files/peroulades.jpg"></div> When Im hovering over the link image is shown full size, Problem: if you take a look: http://www.online-dovolenka.sk/dovolenka_korfu if hover over both links "Click Here To Show Image" you will see same image, but I put two different images? where is the problem? any ideas? Code: <a href="#" onMouseOver="ShowPicture('Style',1)" onMouseOut="ShowPicture('Style',0)">Click Here To Show Image</a> <div id="Style"><img src="/sites/default/files/peroulades.jpg"></div> <a href="#" onMouseOver="ShowPicture('Style',1)" onMouseOut="ShowPicture('Style',0)">Click Here To Show Image</a> <div id="Style"><img src="/sites/default/files/pantokrator.jpg"></div> This is what my code is supposed to do: 1. create a select list that changes the photo showing, (which I have) 2. create script so that when the user hovers over the image it shows a div 3. when the users mouse is off the image/div shows the coordinates where it last left 4. on mouseout hides the div again (this is the part I'm stuck on) This is my html: Code: <style> #selectdiv { position:absolute; left:10px; top:10px; width:400px; height:400px; } #mylist { position: absolute; left: 200px; top: 100px; width:inherit; height:inherit; } #myyellow { position: absolute; left: 600px; top: 100px; width:300px; height:200px; background-color:#FF3; } </style> <body> <div id="selectdiv"> <h1 style="font-size:28px">Select a Beatle</h1> <select name="beatles" size="1" id="myselect" onchange="showDiv();"> <option value="-">-</option> <option value="J">John</option> <option value="P">Paul</option> <option value="G">George</option> <option value="R">Ringo</option> </select> </div> <div id="mylist" style="display:none" onmouseover="showYellow(event);" onmouseout="showpixels(event)"></div> <div id="John" style="display:none"> <img src="beatles_john.jpg" /> </div> <div id="Paul" style="display:none"> <img src="beatles_paul.jpg" /> </div> <div id="George" style="display:none"> <img src="beatles_george.jpg" /> </div> <div id="Ringo" style="display:none"> <img src="beatles_ringo.jpg" /> </div> <div id="myyellow" style="display:none"></div> <div id="msg"></div> </body> This is my script: Code: function showDiv() { var mySelect = document.getElementById("myselect"); var myList = document.getElementById("mylist"); switch (mySelect.value) { case 'J': myDiv = document.getElementById("John"); myList.innerHTML = myDiv.innerHTML; myList.style.display = "block"; //Makes div viewable break; case 'P': myDiv = document.getElementById("Paul"); myList.innerHTML = myDiv.innerHTML; myList.style.display = "block"; //Makes div viewable break; case 'G': myDiv = document.getElementById("George"); myList.innerHTML = myDiv.innerHTML; myList.style.display = "block"; //Makes div viewable break; case 'R': myDiv = document.getElementById("Ringo"); myList.innerHTML = myDiv.innerHTML; myList.style.display = "block"; //Makes div viewable break; } } function showYellow(event) { var myyellow = document.getElementById("myyellow"); myyellow.style.display = "block"; } function showpixels(event) { x=event.clientX y=event.clientY var myMsg = document.getElementById("msg"); myMsg.innerHTML = "X coords: " + x + ", Y coords: " + y; } Any feed back is greatly appreciated. I am not sure if this is a javascript problem or an html problem. I have posted the code below. The main two areas that I am interested in are 1) the area where the photo is shown in the larger size, and 2) the thumbnails below the larger picture. Right now in the img tag of the first image I have specified a height and width of 450px. The result is that when one hovers the mouse over the thumbnails, all pictures are shown at that size, regardless if they are larger or smaller than 450 x 450 pixels. I am not concerned about the larger images because I will use a script to scale those that someone on this forum was so kind enough to provide me with. The IMPORTANT PART IS HE I am concerned with smaller images. If you remove the height and width portion from the image tag, when you hover the mouse over a picture that's smaller than the others, such as the last one, which is smaller than all the others that are at 450 x 450, the thumbnails "move up". I would like the thumbnails to remain where they are at / for the top area where the photos are displayed to always be the same size, such as 450 x 450 px., and for the smaller pictures to be shown in the center in that area. How can this be done? Note: The entire portion of the stylesheet is not present. Let me know if something important is missing. If there's something wrong with my code or if there was a way that the iframe page could check if it was loaded on the right page or not would be great although i'm not sure if that's possible. Any solutions or alternatives are welcome. Thanks. P.S. This is on Joomla CMS, I don't think it should make a difference but correct me if I'm wrong. I'm setting up an application that involves blog posts with comments boxes appended to the div that contains the posts. The comments boxes are in iframes and load an html file on the same domain. There are multiple posts/boxes on each page. I need a javascript that will only run the append script when the posts are written and appear on the page. So in non js language, I'm looking for this: if div id post#5 appears on the page, show the iframe that contains the comments box that goes with post number 5. else don't show it. I don't know enough javascript to figure this out so if anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. Hello codingforums, There are various widgets and plugins that show link preview via tooltip or iframe, So as I am trying to continuously improve web sites experience with new trends and web functionalities - thus it come the task for uniform link preview via div and iframe. This is the script that use attribute id's but for the complete solution it would be required to display link within event 'this' or something -any suggestions and help are very appreciated. Thanks Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function toggleDiv(divid){ var div = document.getElementById(divid); div.style.display = div.style.display == 'block' ? 'none' : 'block'; } </script> <div class="toggle"><a href="javascript:toggleDiv('panel1');" >Toggle Panel 1</a></div> <div id="panel1" class="panel"> <h2>Panel 1</h2> This panel contains text </div> <div class="toggle"><a href="javascript:toggleDiv('panel2');" >Toggle Panel 2</a></div> <div id="panel2" class="panel" style="display:block;"> <h2>Panel 2</h2> This panel contains external url content <iframe src="http://" width="100%" heigth="500"></iframe> </div> <div id="panel1" class="panel"> <h2>Panel 1</h2> This panel starts closed because style='display:none' is defined in the style section of the head </div> <div class="toggle"><a href="javascript:toggleDiv('panel2');" >Toggle Panel 2</a></div> <div id="panel2" class="panel" style="display:block;"> <h2>Panel 1</h2> This panel starts open because of style='display:block' </div> <a href="javascript:toggleDiv('panel1');" >Another Link to Toggle Panel 1</a> [/CODE] Hello all I am new here but this place looked great and like one of the only places where I could find the answer to my question. I have created a page which pulls search results from various sites using PHP. It displays each result in a row in a table upon running. I wanted to add a button saying "More information" at which point, a div would appear and load the associated link for that search result within an iframe within the newly appeared div. I've been able to get a div appear and disappear on button click but, I couldn't get it to dynamically load an iframe on click with the associated search results link. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also let me know if you need more information before assisting. Thanks! Hello everyone, I am very curious, how are the scroll bars disabled on this web-site: http://www.nofrks.com/# I know how to disable scroll bars in a new window with Javascript, but how would I disable scroll bars on the web-site? Could someone please give me an idea? Thank you very much Hi all,I am very new to coding so please be patient with me!I am trying to add a link to a web page which will open a new window which has no scrollbars ,toolbars, menu etc for a nice clean look(the window will display a flash image display gallery) I know you do this with javascript but am having trouble placing the javascript in the html ,what would be ideal is if someone was kind enough to give me an example of exactly how the complete page code would look with the javascript included,it need only be a very simple page with no content except the link which maybe we could just call sample,I would be most grateful for any help you can give me.Thankyou!
I can't seem to get any scrollbars on my Safari Windows Browser to display. I've tried removing my image height and width parameters but it doesn't make any difference. I'm trying to popup a window and when the image is larger than the window, I want to be able to use the scrollbars to see the image. My javascript code (pretty standard I think): PHP Code: function popup_window(url,w,h) { var width=w; var height=h; var from_top=10; var from_left=10; var toolbar='no'; var location='no'; var directories='no'; var status='no'; var menubar='no'; var scrollbars='yes'; var resizable='yes'; var atts='width='+width+'show,height='+height+',top='+from_top+',screenY='; atts+= from_top+',left='+from_left+',screenX='+from_left+',toolbar='+toolbar; atts+=',location='+location+',directories='+directories+',status='+status; atts+=',menubar='+menubar+',scrollbars='+scrollbars+',resizable='+resizable; window.open(url,'win_name',atts); } My calling PHP code as a link on the thumbnail image to be clicked on to popup the window: PHP Code: <A HREF="https://www.mysite.com/<?php echo $php_photo_filename?>" onClick="return popup_window('https://www.mysite.com/<?php echo $php_photo_filename?>', <?php echo $php_popup_width?>, <?php echo $php_popup_height?>)"><IMG SRC="<?php echo $php_small_photo_filename?>" WIDTH="<?php echo $php_small_width?>" HEIGHT="<?php echo $php_small_height?>" BORDER="1"></A> Thanks for any help... i want the scrollbars to be preset at the bottom of the div each time someone visits the site. Code: <div id="scroller-shoutbox" border="0" cellspacing="0" style="background-image:url(images/table-bg.png);border-bottom:solid 1px #333; width:498px; height:300px;border-left:solid 1px #333;border-right:solid 1px #333; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: auto;"> <table border="0" cellspacing="0" width="500"> <tr><td></td></tr> <!--- PHP array here in actuallity, but i figured it wasnt relevant to this post ---> <tr><td></td></tr> </table> </div> you can see the problem i am talking about here http://tomhilsee.com/ipool/index.php the latest content is unseen because the scrollers are at the top I'm playing around with full browser canvas element it seems to spill beyond the browser bounds generating horizontal and vertical scrollbars. This is the technique I'm using: Code: <canvas id="c" width="1" height="1"></canvas> <script type="text/javascript"> var ce = document.getElementById("c"); var cc = ce.getContext("2d"); function draw() { var ctx = (cc); ctx.canvas.width = window.innerWidth; ctx.canvas.height = window.innerHeight; // ctx.fillStyle = "rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5)"; ctx.fillRect(0, 0, ctx.canvas.width, 100); } draw(); $(window).resize($.debounce(100, function() { draw(); })); </script> I've also tried to wrap the canvas element inside a div and set that div's overflow equal to hidden, but the results are unchanged. Does anyone have any insight on this? Hi there everybody, I've got this problem which I can't solve myself... I've got a website which has 3 colums and is hosted on domain1.com. in the right column I've got an Iframe which loads content from domain2.com . this content are some textboxes and a datepicker tool. if I press the 'search'-button in this Iframe I would like to refresh the mainpage (from domain1.com) so that another Iframe appears in the middle column. in this column i would like to load a new form from domain2.com which contains the values that I've put in in the form from the right Iframe. Unfortunally I can't get this to work... Will somebody please help me? Hi all, I hope you can help I have some code which: 1) Opens a URL (e.g. google.com) in a hidden iframe, then 2) Redirects the visitor to a different URL (e.g. yahoo.com) after it has loaded... This works exactly as I need. What I'd like to do is the following: 1) Open a URL (e.g. google.com) in a hidden iframe, then 2) Redirect the visitor to a different URL (e.g. yahoo.com) in a full-screen iframe 3) The address bar of the full-screen iframe should be my domain (obviously!) Here's what I have so far... Hidden iframe -> New URL Code: Code: <html> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> var page_body = document.getElementsByTagName('body'); var myframe = document.createElement('iframe'); var id = Math.random(); myframe.setAttribute('id', 'myFrame'+id); myframe.src = 'http://google.com'; //First open Google in hidden iframe myframe.setAttribute('frameborder', '0') myframe.setAttribute('width', '0'); myframe.setAttribute('height', '0'); if (myframe.attachEvent) { myframe.attachEvent('onload', function() { top.location = 'http://yahoo.com'; //Once loaded redirect to Yahoo -- but the address bar shows yahoo.com -- I want the address bar to display mydomain.com/page.html }); } else if (myframe.addEventListener) { myframe.addEventListener('load', function() { top.location = ('http://yahoo.com'); }, false); } page_body[0].appendChild(myframe); </script> </body> </html> I have an example of some code which displays the full screen iframe, but my problem is... ...I can't figure out how to redirect to this after the hidden iframe has loaded Here's an example of how I want the redirect to display -- after the initial hidden iframe has loaded: Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function sendParams() { document.body.style.overflow = "hidden"; } </script> </head> <body> <!--Open Yahoo.com in a full screen iframe, and disable extra scrollbar --> <iframe height="100%" width="100%" frameBorder="no" onload="sendParams()" src="http://yahoo.com"></iframe> </body> </html> I've been beating my head against the wall today trying to figure this out, and I'm fresh out of ideas. If you can help, you'll have some serious gratitude and good karma thrown your way! Best wishes, and thanks in advance, Paul Is there a way to resize an iframe dynamically so that you never get the scroll bar and essentially hide that there is an iframe? Better integration really. Basically I want to iframe a forum into my site so that the design down the sides and top which my friend does using iweb are not messed with. We have a central area which can be longer or shorter depending on the forum. I have used iframes for my site and found various javascripts so when a person clicks on say the audio page he http://www.krillmeed.com/index.html it takes them to the audio page but will load it into the index.html page. The problem is, especially with search engines, to point to that page, this is what the URL looks like to send someone to that page: http://www.krillmeed.com/?frame=0&sr...m%2Faudio.html which is not very clean at all, this is the javascript that i found that at least works: Child iframe script: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> (function(){ var qstr = '?frame=0&src=' + encodeURIComponent(location.href), lre = new RegExp('^' + location.protocol + '//' + location.hostname + '(()|(/)|(/index.html)|(/index.php))(()|(\\' + qstr + '))$'); if (!lre.test(parent.location.href)){ top.location.href = '/' + qstr; } })(); </script> Parent iframe Script: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> (function(){ function getQval(n) { if(typeof n !== 'string'){ return null; } var r = new RegExp('[?&;]' + n + '=([^&;#]*)'), m = location.search; return (m = r.exec(m))? unescape(m[1]) : null; } var f = getQval('frame'), s = getQval('src'); if(f && frames[f] && s && s.indexOf(location.protocol + '//' + location.hostname + '/') === 0){ frames[f].location.href = s; } })(); </script> Is there a "cleaner" way of doing this? This was an old code, i have yet to find a more modern one. Thank you in advance. |
