JavaScript - Enabling/disabling Textbox Using A Radio Button
hi..
i have a jsp page in which there is a table. the number of rows is variable and depends on a pre-defined query. every row has 2 editable textboxes which are initially disabled. i need to activate these textboxes according to the radio button which corresponds to the particular row in question. can anybody pls tell me how to do that. the code that i have written is as follows.if there is any tweaking to be done pls suggest the same. code: <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <%@page import="java.util.ArrayList" %> <%@page import="DTO.UserGroupDTO"%> <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript">} funtion enable(){ document.getElementById("inp1").disabled=false; document.getElementById("inp2").disabled=false; } function disable(){ document.getElementById("inp1").disabled=true; document.getElementById("inp2").disabled=true; } </script> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>Update User Group Inquiry Results</title> </head> <body bgcolor="#aabbcc"> <center> <h3>Update User Group Inquiry Results</h3><br><br> <%ArrayList arrayList=(ArrayList)request.getAttribute("myList"); ArrayList list; int size=arrayList.size(); Integer groupId=null; String userGroupName=null; String description=null; %> <form action="/test/BankServlet"> <table style="color: highlight" border="5"> <% if(!(arrayList.isEmpty())){%> <tr><th>Group ID</th><th>User Group Name</th><th>Description</th><th>Selection</th></tr> <% for(int i=0;i<size;i++){ UserGroupDTO userGroupDTO=(UserGroupDTO)arrayList.get(i); userGroupName=userGroupDTO.getUserGroupName(); groupId=userGroupDTO.getGroupId(); description=userGroupDTO.getDescription(); %> <tr> <td><%out.println(groupId); %></td> <td><input id="inp1" disabled="disabled" value="<% out.println(userGroupName); %>"></td> <td><input id="inp2" disabled="disabled" value="<%out.println(description); %>"> </td> <td> <input type="radio" name="radio2" value="<%=groupId %>" onclick="enable()"> </td> </tr> <% } } else{ out.println("No match found"); } %> <tr> <td><input type="hidden" name="strTitle" value="UpdateUserGroup"></td> </tr> <tr> <td><input type="hidden" name="value" value="<%=groupId%>"></td> </tr> </table><br> <input type="submit" value="Update User Group" style="background-color: gray"> </form> <form action="/test/jsp/UserGroup.jsp"> <input type="submit" value="Go Back to User Group Operations Page" style="background-color: gray"> </form> <br><br><br><br> </center> </body> </html> Similar TutorialsHi everybody... I have some radio group boxes and according to select one of the values, the other values in another radio boxes should be enabled and checked. In the onClick method of each radiobox i call a setDefault() function to reset the value of radioboxes.... (e.g for (i;i<document.NPOrder.pSubstrate.length;i++){ document.NPOrder.pSubstrate[i].disabled=false; document.NPOrder.pSubstrate[i].checked=false; } and after that i disabled and checked the other's value...) Problem: The code in setDefault() doesn't work properly and after disabling the radios, i can't enable them again Please help me and thanks in advance... Hany Hi there, This is my request. I don't know if it CAN be done via JS, but it just seemed likely it could: Basically, I have a table echoed out by PHP: PHP Code: while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ echo "<tr>"; echo "<td>".$row['Name']."</td>"; echo "<td>".$row['gig_count']."</td>"; echo "<td>" .$row['dob']."</td>"; echo "<td>".$row['Mail']."</td>"; echo "<td><a href=\"/records/add_gigs.php?id=".$row['Member_ID']."&?name=".$row['Name']."\"><button class=\"submit\">Add new Gig</button></a></td>"; echo "<td><a href=\"/certsend.php?name=".$row['Name']."&?mail=".$row['Mail']."\"><button class=\"submit\">Make Certificate!</button></a></td>"; echo "</tr>"; And if the value of gig_count is less than 20, then the 'make certificate' button will be disabled. Once gig_count is 20 or more, then it is re-enabled for that particular row. Any code towards this is greatly appreciated. Hey guys, I Should have the textbox value as my radio button value. For example, if I type "5" in the textbox, then the radio button value would change to "5". by the way I have three radio buttons and one textbox and if I select one of those and type something in the text box the value would replace to radio button which is selected and all this have to happen before the page submitted or in the process of submitting. I hope I could find answers here (It's so important for me to solve this problem, For see the form please go to this page, Its above the news frame where you can see three radio buttons and one textbox named shipment tracking ...). thanks so much!!!
Hey Guys, I have this really important question (I'm really stuck! I'm a baby coder ). I have four radio button and four textbox, each one of these textboxes has its own value which is provided from a database, now each one of these textboxes is related to a radio button and what happen is if I select radio button number one then the value of textbox number one is going to change by which is fine but when I'm going to select the other radio buttons (which is obvious that radio button number one is no longer selected) but textbox number one keeps the changed value and don't going back to its default value. let me give you my example (which I working on it right now), I have four textbox and four radio buttons, now my first textbox has a value="1" I select the first radio button and the first textbox value turned to value="2" now I select the second radio button and the second text value change from 1 to 2 just like the first text box (what happened is that the first radio button is deselected but the first textbox value didn’t turn back to its first value which was value="1" and keep the changed value which is value="2" (that happens to all text boxes and radio buttons as well) This is my stupid code: (please help me out here, I'm going to cry, Btw you can completely change the code if you want it’s not important I just need to restore these textbox to their first value if their related radio buttons is no longer selected. one more thing I manage to find a way to do that but I find out it is not stable (onblur) if I click somewhere else in the page (rather than the radio buttons) then the changed value return to default one which is SUCKS! I checked the other event handlers but didn’t work! <script type="text/javascript"> function firstaddit(){ if(document.getElementById("Rate1").value=="1") { document.getElementById("amount1").value="<%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Rate1").Value)+1%>" }} </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function secondaddit(){ if(document.getElementById("Rate2").value=="2") { document.getElementById("amount2").value="<%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Rate2").Value)+1%>" }} </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function thirdaddit(){ if(document.getElementById("Rate3").value=="3") { document.getElementById("amount3").value="<%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Rate3").Value)+1%>" }} </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function fourthaddit(){ if(document.getElementById("Rate4").value=="4") { document.getElementById("amount4").value="<%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Rate4").Value)+1%>" }} </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function ReturnFirstAddit(){ if(document.getElementById("Rate1").value=="1") { document.getElementById("amount1").value="<%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Rate1").Value)%>" }} </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function ReturnSecondAddit(){ if(document.getElementById("Rate2").value=="2") { document.getElementById("amount2").value="<%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Rate2").Value)%>" }} </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function ReturnThirdAddit(){ if(document.getElementById("Rate3").value=="3") { document.getElementById("amount3").value="<%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Rate3").Value)%>" }} </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function ReturnFourthAddit(){ if(document.getElementById("Rate4").value=="4") { document.getElementById("amount4").value="<%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Rate4").Value)%>" }} </script> Choice 1: <input type="radio" value="1" name="Rate" id="Rate1" onclick="firstaddit()" onblur="ReturnFirstAddit()"> <br/><br/> Choice 2: <input type="radio" value="2" name="Rate" id="Rate2" onclick="secondaddit()" onblur="ReturnSecondAddit()"> <br/><br/> Choice 3: <input type="radio" value="3" name="Rate" id="Rate3" onclick="thirdaddit()" onblur="ReturnThirdAddit()"> <br/><br/> Choice 4: <input type="radio" value="4" name="Rate" id="Rate4" onclick="fourthaddit()" onblur="ReturnFourthAddit()"> <br/><br/> <%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Choice1").Value)%> <input type="radio" value="1" name="Rate" id="Rate1" onclick="firstaddit()" onblur="ReturnFirstAddit()"> <br/><br/> <%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Choice2").Value)%> <input type="radio" value="2" name="Rate" id="Rate2" onclick="secondaddit()" onblur="ReturnSecondAddit()"> <br/><br/> <%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Choice3").Value)%> <input type="radio" value="3" name="Rate" id="Rate3" onclick="thirdaddit()" onblur="ReturnThirdAddit()"> <br/><br/> <%=(rs_vote.Fields.Item("Choice4").Value)%> <input type="radio" value="4" name="Rate" id="Rate4" onclick="fourthaddit()" onblur="ReturnFourthAddit()"> <br/><br/> I am using ASP validators and I have a contact form. It seems simple but I am really new at JavaScript so I need help. I have created a JavaScript code that has three radio buttons (High, Medium, and Low). When you click on high two text boxes appear so that an email address can be added. What I need help with is making the text boxes disappear if someone accidentally click high and then went back to low or medium. Currently the High button stays clicked and the text boxes still show. Any help would be great. Can someone see what is wrong? Thanks. I don't exactly know how to word my issue. Basically, I need it so that if a user selects 'option1' in the group 'group1' when they go to 'group2' is only gives them a certain selection to choose from. If they choose 'option2' in 'group1' they will get a different set to choose from. My main dilemma is it must do this without them having to submit. hi guys im trying to check whether a radio button is checked when i click it, but the javascript onlick event is not acting cool! when i click an unselected radio button i am informed that the unselected radio button i just clicked is in fact checked, when i should be getting the information the no, the radio button was not checked when i clicked it. any idea how to get the previous state of a radio button onclick? hi, how I can execute this operation : for example x=a+b where "a" it can have value 0 or 1 based on the selection of the radio button. when a user select 1 on the radio button x=1+b when user select 0 x=0+b . please help me. Hi everyone. I'm getting into javascript coding and i'm stumped with some problem about radio buttons. What I would like is to have a general function where I can pass in any group of radio buttons and have it return the textual value of the radio button selected. First, here is my code so far. Code: function Get_Radio_Selection(options) { var choice = ""; for (var index = 0; index <= options.length; index++) if (options[index].checked == true) choice = options[index].value; return choice; } Now here's a sample form: Code: <form name="form1"> <input type="radio" name="food" value="Banana">Banana <input type="radio" name="food" value="Mango">Mango <input type="radio" name="food" value="Orange">Orange <input type="radio" name="food" value="Oatmeal">Oatmeal <input type="button" name="blah" value="Get Selection" onclick="Get_Radio_Selection(document.form1.food);"> </form> My question is, when i run this function and pass it in the group of radio buttons by means of the onclick event handler, firefox 3.6.22 reports in the error console on line 22 that "options[index] is undefined". It seems that if i use the variable "index" more than one time it reports this error but if I take out the assignment to variable "choice" that it works just fine. I rewrote the function using a separate variable and this time it works perfectly: Code: function Get_Radio_Selection(options) { var choice = ""; var index; for (var i = 0; i < options.length; i++) { if (options[i].checked == true) { index = i; choice = options[index].value; } } return choice; } Notice the indexing variables in the "if" statement and the assignment to "choice" are different. Does anyone have any suggestions on why this happens? Thanks. I have the following code which I want to make a selection and the value should reflect in the text box and the text box should take on that value for future calculations. Code: <!-- Row 13, Col 1 Order Value --> <tr><td colspan="2" align="right">Delivery Options: <input type="radio" name="sapo" value="35" onclick="deliveryCost('35')" /> R35 - SA Post Office <input type="radio" name="sapo" value="80" onclick="deliveryCost('80')" /> R80 - Speed Services <input type="radio" name="sapo" value="150" onclick="deliveryCost('150')" /> R150 - Courier Services </td> <!-- Row 13, Col 2 Order Value Box--> <td colspan="1" align="left"><input style="margin-left: 60px" type="text" name="delivery" size="10" readonly="readonly" /> </td></tr> |
