How would I accomplish this? Link to tutorial would be much appreciated. Thanks
Hello All, I have a form where the number of input fields (lets call them B through N) is determined by the length of a php array. Above those input fields is another field (lets call this field input A) that I would like to be auto populated based on what the user enters in fields B through N. Here is my code. The first table (with all of the "totals" fields) holds all of the input fields that I would like to auto update. These fields should auto update so that every input in EACH of the "fy" fields in the second table is added together. Example: every input in the id="fy_{$fy.fy}_high_impact_cost" field should be added together as the user enters them, and the id="totals_high_impact_cost" field should be auto updated with that total. Code: <form method="post" name="submit" action="new_item.php" accept-charset='UTF-8'> <table border="box" width="100%"> <tr> <td align="center">$<input id="totals_high_impact_cost" size="3" name="totals_high_impact_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="totals_most_likely_impact_cost" size="3" name="totals_most_likely_impact_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="totals_low_impact_cost" size="3" name="totals_low_impact_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="totals_actual_expense" size="3" name="totals_actual_expense" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="totals_high_mitigation_cost" size="3" name="totals_high_mitigation_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="totals_most_likely_mitigation_cost" size="3" name="totals_most_likely_mitigation_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="totals_low_mitigation_cost" size="3" name="totals_low_mitigation_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="totals_cost_in_scope" size="3" name="totals_cost_in_scope" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="totals_unfunded_threat" size="3" name="totals_unfunded_threat" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" />M</td> </tr> </table> {foreach value=fy from=$php_array} <table> <tr> <td align="center">$<input id="fy_{$fy.fy}_high_impact_cost" size="3" name="fy_{$fy.fy}_high_impact_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" value="{$fy.high_impact_cost}" onchange="update_totals_high_impact_cost()" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="fy_{$fy.fy}_most_likely_impact_cost" size="3" name="fy_{$fy.fy}_most_likely_impact_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" value="{$fy.most_likely_impact_cost}" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="fy_{$fy.fy}_low_impact_cost" size="3" name="fy_{$fy.fy}_low_impact_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" value="{$fy.low_impact_cost}" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="fy_{$fy.fy}_actual_expense" size="3" name="fy_{$fy.fy}_actual_expense" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" value="{$fy.actual_expense}" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="fy_{$fy.fy}_high_mitigation_cost" size="3" name="fy_{$fy.fy}_high_mitigation_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" value="{$fy.high_mitigation_cost}" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="fy_{$fy.fy}_most_likely_mitigation_cost" size="3" name="fy_{$fy.fy}_most_likely_mitigation_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" value="{$fy.most_likely_mitigation_cost}" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="fy_{$fy.fy}_low_mitigation_cost" size="3" name="fy_{$fy.fy}_low_mitigation_cost" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" value="{$fy.low_mitigation_cost}" />M</td> <td align="center">$<input id="fy_{$fy.fy}_cost_in_scope" size="3" name="fy_{$fy.fy}_cost_in_scope" maxlength="20" style="text-align: right" value="{$fy.cost_in_scope}" />M</td> </tr> </table> {/foreach} </form> Please email me at alexhall12315@yahoo.com if you would like more explanation. Thanks in advance for any help!!! =) Hi All! Thanks in advance to any and all who help me. What we are trying to do is have a form where customers can use a conditional logic based form that upon submission will redirect to checkout with an appropriate product bundle being populated in the shopping cart. I have some experience with creating forms, in fact I have made a decent form that I have modified from an online form builder... the problem is I have no idea how to auto-fill the shopping cart... period. From what I have read in my research this should be a function of Javascript. I have a decent working knowledge of php, and html, but I am pretty clueless when it comes to Javascript, if anyone could point me in the right direction for this project I would really appreciate it. Hi, I have two dropdown lists with the second one being dependent on the selection in the first. Options in list 1: 1,3 or 4 List two should be enabled when 3 or 4 is selected in list 1. So far so good, managed to get it to work with only one set of lists, but I actually have 18 of those sets in this form: Code: <select name="fw[$i]" id="fw[$i]"> <option value="1">FWH</option> <option value="3">links</option> <option value="4">rechts</option> <option value="0" selected></option> </select><br /> <select name="lie[$i]" id="lie[$i]" disabled="disabled" onchange="showBox($i,xxx);"> <option value="0" selected>---</option> <option value="1">gut</option> <option value="2">schlecht</option> <option value="3">Strafschlag</option> <option value="4">OB</option> </select> $i is my index generated by my PHP script and runs from 1 to 18. Everything works just fine as long as the index is not in play. With the index my function breaks, most probably due to my inability to extract the second parameter (xxx above) from the selection field. Here's my function, there could be something wrong there too with how exactly to specify the proper dropdown list to enable. Code: function showBox(field, val) { if (val > 1) { var box = 'lie[' + field + ']'; document.form1.box.disabled == false; } else { document.form1.box.disabled == true; } } Finally, I'm not that adept in javascript programming, more like a trial and error guy, how has hit the wall with this problem. Thanks in advance! Joe Hi all, I am trying to find out if it's possible to auto populate a text input based on the value of another. e.g. there is an input called name.. the user completes this and enters something like John, then in the same form there is another input called username. Once the person enters John in the name field, the username automatically displays John. I'm not sure how doable this is, I'm not very familar with Javascript, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Greens85 Hi, I have a table displaying records from query, now i want to have a small dropdown listbox on the top right corner called "sort by". The list index would be "date modified", "Price(High-low)" and "Price(Low-High)". I want my order by clause in my SQL to change according to the values in the dropdownlistbox. Code: SELECT * FROM Cars ORDER BY date modified How can i pass my selected value from the listbox to my PHP SQL statement? Thanks Hello, I have this reservation form found on the main page of: http://www.avis.com.lb/ As you can see the current month "August" is selected as the default month and so is the year and day (the day is programmed to jump 2 days ahead for the renting of the car...) However if you look closely (check the screenshot attached) you'll see that the month "August" is repeated twice and so is the year "2009", the current month is repeated twice. What I wanna do is remove the duplication and just auto select the current month without duplicating it. I found this code: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Prog..._24229186.html But it doesn't seem to work with my form, I donno why. Here is the code of the script both javascript and a little bit of php PHP Code: $date = strtotime("+2 day"); $date2 = date('j',$date); $date4 = strtotime("+5 day"); $date3 = date('j',$date4); if($date3 == 1){ $nextmonth = strtotime("+1 day"); $monthid = date('m',$nextmonth); }else{ $nextmonth = strtotime("+0 day"); $monthid = date('m',$nextmonth); } if ($monthid==1){ $year = date("Y") + 1; }else{ $year = date("Y"); } //$pupday = date("j") - 12; //$pupday = date("d") + 2; //echo $pupday; //$returnday = date("d") +5; $month = date("F"); Code: var xMonths = new Array( '01', '02', '03', '04', '05', '06', '07', '08', '09', '10', '11', '12' ); function getListValue( option_object ){return option_object[ option_object.selectedIndex ].value;} function setListValue( option_object, value ){ option_object.selectedIndex = value;} function addDays(myDate, days) { return new Date(myDate.getTime() + days*24*60*60*1000); } function init() { xToday = new Date(); yToday = addDays(new Date(),3); xMonth = xToday.getMonth(); xDay = xToday.getDate()-1; xYear = xToday.getYear()-2005; if (xYear < 2005) xYear=0; yMonth = yToday.getMonth(); yDay = yToday.getDate()-1; yYear = yToday.getYear()-2005; if (yYear < 2005) yYear=0; xF = document.forms['quickbooking']; setListValue( xF.ETAHour, 9 ) setListValue( xF.ETAMonth, xMonth ) setListValue( xF.ETADay, xDay ) setListValue( xF.ETAYear, xYear ) setListValue( xF.ETTHour, 9 ) setListValue( xF.ETTMonth, yMonth ) setListValue( xF.ETTDay, yDay ) setListValue( xF.ETTYear, yYear ) } Code: <select class="formField" name="ETAMonth"> <option value="<? echo $monthid; ?>" selected="selected"><? echo $month; ?></option> <option value="01">January</option> <option value="02">February</option> <option value="03">March</option> <option value="04">April</option> <option value="05">May</option> <option value="06">June</option> <option value="07">July</option> <option value="08">August</option> <option value="09">September</option> <option value="10">October</option> <option value="11">November</option> <option value="12">December</option> </select> <select class="formField" name="ETAYear"> <option value="<? echo $year; ?>" selected="selected"><? echo $year; ?></option> <option value="2008">2008</option> <option value="2009">2009</option> <option value="2010">2010</option> </select> Help is very appreciated, thanks. Hello! I need some help here. I need to pre-populate a name and a phone number box based on what's entered in the employee id box. By entering in the employee id - EMPLOYEE ID: [JOHN R] It automatically fills in - Employee Name: [John Roberts] Employee Phone: [1234567890] Thanks. Javascript novice here looking to create a dynamic dropdown based on date. It's a list of preset prices that will change each month to reflect a pro-rated system. Any thoughts/examples on how I would go about setting this up using javascript would be much appreciated. Thanks. Here's what I need: In September, the dropdown will display these prices Code: <option value="100">Product 1</option> <option value="150">Product 2</option> <option value="200">Product 3</option> In October, the dropdown will display these prices <option value="50">Product 1</option> <option value="100">Product 2</option> <option value="150">Product 3</option> Ok so let's say I have this dropdown with a list of these items: PALCO TRIBUNA ORO And in a button on the page I want to send it one of those names, let's say I send it ORO, and through Javascript select that in the dropdown list. How is this done? Do I have to iterate through everything, and how? Thanks for any help in the subject. I'm still struggling for a solution here. I have a background image that auto-resizes based on browser window / screen resolution. I want my top header menu, which requires links, to act in the same way and be in roughly the same position/size based on browser window. Is this possible? In the sample below, the image is just part of the background image to give you an idea of the look I am trying to duplicate. Is there a Javascript out there that will help me or will I be stuck having to rework my design? http://www.uberbotjones.com/sanny/test.html This site is really driving me crazy. Hi, i am building a website form which I would like the user to select a product of interest. Some products are three tiered and some are two tiered. 1. Example of three tier (3 dropdowns required only): Scooters (dropdown 1) Three Wheel Scooters (dropdown 2) Delux 503S Bird Scooter (dropdown 3) 2. Example of two tier (2 dropdowns required only): Standing Bikes (dropdown 1) Children 300 Series (dropdown 2) If the user wants to submit their interest for one of the products, I need to have at most 3 dropdown menus. So in Example 1, I would have 3 dropdowns in my form. Dropdown 1: Scooters Dropdown 2: Three Wheel Scooters Dropdown 3: Delux 503S Bird Scooter In Example 2, I would only need to use the first 2 dropdown menus. (Obviously the first dropdown would contain 'Scooters' and 'Standing Bikes' in the menu list) The below code is perfect except, I would like to alter the code so that the second and third dropdowns are hidden until a selection from the first drop down is made. Once for example, 'Standing Bikes' is selected from the first dropdown menu, the second dropdown menu appears and the third remains hidden due to the fact that it is not required. If I selected Scooters from the first dropdown menu, the second dropdown would appear listing all items associated with this and at this point the third dropdown menu is hidden. If i select 'Three Wheel Scooter' from the second dropdown the third dropdown menu now appears listing all Three wheel Scooters such as 'Delux 503S Bird Scooter'. I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you require clarrification. Sorry if I'm describing this wrong. But I was wondering if there was any premade dropdown menu which opens based on what position you are on the page. For example, when I'm on the top of the page and hover the mouse over the dropdown menu, the menu opens upward instead of downward because the navigation is mid-screen. But if I was to be more than halfway across the screen and still see the navigation as it was on top of the screen and hover the mouse over it, the dropdown menu opens downward as oppose to up. I hope I explained that right or at least if it sounds right to someone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you could direct me to a resource you may know of. Thank you for your time. Hi, I'm trying to integrate an address finder (http://www.craftyclicks.co.uk/) into my shopping cart (OsCommerce). I can get it to work but I need to add my own functionality. I'm not very experienced with JavaScript and my head has entered an infinite loop by now. The problem is that the address finder script can change the selected country in a drop-down list depending on the postcode entered by the user (using the onblur event handler). What I need it to do is to remove all other countries depending on the postcode. I can get it to remove all other countries but how do i return to the original list of countries when the postcode is changed again? Once all other counties are removed, the drop-down list will obviously only have one option left... I guess the question is also how does a function remember what it has done before, when it is called again? I have written this short test script as it is easier to work with than the craftyclicks oscommerce contribution: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>HTML Template</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <meta name="description" content="" /> <meta name="keywords" content="" /> <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ function store(element) { // store values var cl = element; var text_list = new Array(); var value_list = new Array(); var length = cl.length; for (var foo=0; foo<length; foo++) { text_list[foo] = cl.options[foo].text; value_list[foo] = cl.options[foo].value; alert("text array " + foo + " " + text_list[foo]); alert("value array " + foo + " " + value_list[foo]); } populate(cl, text_list, value_list); } function populate(element, text, value) { // populate options with previously stored values var cl = element; var length = cl.length; cl.options.length=0; for (var bar=0; bar<length; bar++) { cl.options[bar]= new Option(text[bar], value[bar], false, false); } } function crafty_set_country(code) { var cl = document.getElementById('select'); store(cl); for (var i=0; i<cl.length; i++) { if (cl.options[i].value == code) { alert(cl.options[i].value + " found"); var value = cl.options[i].value; var text = cl.options[i].text; cl.options.length=0; cl.options[0]=new Option(text, value, true, true); /* for (var j=0; j<cl.length; j++) { alert("second loop " + cl.options[j].text); if (cl.options[i].value != code) { cl.options[j] } } */ } else { alert(cl.options[i].value); } } } //]]> </script> </head> <body> <form> <select id="select"> <option value="10">ten</option> <option value="20">twenty</option> <option value="30">thirty</option> <option value="40">fourty</option> <option value="50">fifty</option> <option value="60">sixty</option> </select> <input type="button" value="remove" name="button" onClick="crafty_set_country(50)"> <input type="button" value="repopulate" name="button" onClick="crafty_set_country(100)"> </form> </body> </html> Many thanks!
