JavaScript - Problem With The Popup In Js File

Hi everybod,

i have on my website http://www.musi9a.coma flash mp3 player that opens in a popup. The user can then add songs to it by clicking on a link "add song". When the popup is already open and the user is on the same page the if(popup) or if (popup && popup.open) works but when the user navigates to other pages if(popup) doesnt seem to work anymore. can you help me. You can test on my website choose an artist click on "launch top 30" or "launch all" then go to another artist. You will notice that you have to click twice to get it work (the playlist in the player will change). Any general improvements are also welcome.

Without 'autoHide' property i can use the command: Popup.hideAll(); for closing popup, But when i am using this 'autoHide' property, how can i close the popup?? Popup.hideAll(); is not working with me.......

I re-wrote this code to display an exit notice alert and open a new window after user confirms they wish to leave the website.

However, something is wrong with my code below. The alert and cancel alert works fine, but my new window link does not appear.
I was curious if i could get some help fixing this code from anyone in the JavaScript programming forum.

I have a code that opens a new window from a flash movie. The window opens fine, but the parent window goes blank and displays this on the top left of the screen:

I've written a javascript class that displays a popup, but as soon as the code executes the popup vanishes.

I've stepped through the code, line by line and there's nothing that "hides" the popup, the DIV that is created by the class, just reverts back to the default configuration generated by the following function:

The class is triggered by an onClick event on a BUTTON.

I've tried to put a "sleep" function in after executing the function that modifies the DIVs, but that seems to execute before the function, not after, so the popup just flickers into existence and then vanishes.

Can anyone give me any hint(s) as to how to stop this happening.

Just to say in short, I'm a musician and not a programmer, the only thing I have learned is html many years ago, however JS and Java I have never done at all. About 6 month ago I asked a colleague of mine to make me a new website. All went very nicely apart from one little detail as the title says. The popup window with the music player (me playing), keeps on going in the background as soon as a person continues to browse through the page. Unfortunately, my colleague hasn't answered any of my emails asking him to fix it, and therefore I found this forum through google with hope that perhaps you'd be able to help me out.

My colleague is Polish and hence the Polish language of the function and the htm file.

I have the following problem that I have been trying to figure out for a few hours now and am hoping someone can give me a help out.

I am opening a popup - this popup is solely to take an image url and as such has one field. On this 1st popup I have a 'button' which when clicked launches a 2nd popup window containing a file browser. The user selects the file by double clicking on the image they want, the url is passed back to the 1st popup, poulating the field and the 2nd popup is closed.

Work perfectly in FF etc.. but in IE7 and IE8 it will not work.

I am using the following function, linked to the button in the 1st popup, to open the 2nd popup window pass across the name of the field and the window object to the 2nd window.

Like I say works perfectly in FF but IE is always undefined for both 'window.fileFileWin' & 'window.fileFileField' which seems to suggest that the object is not interpreted by IE in the first function?

I am a PHP developer with limited Javascript knowledge so any help would be great.

I'm kinda hoping this is possible but haven't found any reference to it...

I have a parent page that opens a popup on click that launches a sidebar navigation on the right of the screen and resizes the parent page. What I am wanting to do is create a second popup (approx 250px high) that opens below the navigation (which is only around 600px high) but I have noticed that even when you have no status bar in the popup windows, they can still end up overlapping because of additional tools or plugins that the viewer has in their browser.

Is there any way to get the popups to butt up against each other instead of overlapping? More like a relative popup?

Any assistance would be appreciated. :-)

I am trying to create a way for my users to download some code dynamically from my web page via a file download. Below is the code that i have written so far. It seems to be dying on the iframe but i'm not sure why.

I have a large'ish project under development. The code below distills the problem I am having.

In essence, I am trying to read in an XML file. It appears to load okay but when I try to count how many there are of a certain tag (The "Team" tag) I am told that there are zero. This is despite being told that that file loads okay (as the callback function is called).

Javascript and the xml file is below.

I hope that it is easy to follow. When the page is loaded, the initialize function is called. I first check my browser as I only need this to work on a Mozilla browser (I am using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3). I then load the xml file and the callback function (fileLoaded) is called.
I then try to find out how many "Team" tags I have, but get the message that there are zero.

Sorry if this is a simple question but I have spent the best part of yesterday trying to get this to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

I found this popup window, and it works for my project, now i would like to include a close option to the popup window. Either "close", a button, or click aywhere. Here is the coding I am currently using:

This opens 3 pictures, that when clicked opens the popup of the same picture, only full screen.
