JavaScript - Not Working In Firefox Javascript:document.go.submit();
New to this. This code works in IE but does not work in firefox. It just stays on the same page and does nothing. Please Help!

Similar TutorialsI'm working on my own site for layouts for sites like Myspace and Ning. Myspace changed their layouts to no longer include CSS so I am working on a new way to post their layouts. I used this same method to post all our other layouts. For some reason this is not showing up in IE. Firefox: IE: Interestingly enough, when I run the debugger in IE it loads when it is done. I have used the code of my affiliate software to show my company logo. This code works in Firefox, but for some reason doesn't work in IE. The company who own the affiliate software have never seen this problem before and have been unable to assist. Not sure if it's a server problem? Hi There, I have recently completed making a website for my sister's wedding. I am quite new to the web design world, and have only taken 2 classes on the subject. I used a Javascript function that was provided to us in one of my HTML coding classes in order to automatically resize the (nesting?) div's according to how long the content in them is. This all seems to work perfectly fine in Google Chrome, as well as most versions of Internet Explorer - however, in some versions of internet explorer, and ALL versions of Firefox, this resize function does not seem to work. Since this coding was provided to me by a teacher (who is unfortunately in another country), I'm not sure what kinda of edit would make it so it would function in Firefox, or if there is a way to make in function in Firefox at all. I would appreciate if some of you could take a look at it, and let me know if you have any ideas/suggestions/advice, as to what is happening with the code/why it does not work in Firefox/some versions of Internet Explorer. Hi, I am having a strange problem. I have a javascript that I am running on my system and on server(both in IE and FF). The problems I am encountering are as follows: My system IE - everything working fine FF - Not able to set focus correctly. When focus() is called, it jumps to next field. On Server IE - Focus doesnt set as expected. No blinking cursor.Doesnt do anything. FF- Same thing as above. When focus functionality is called, nothing happens. But when it comes to IE 8.0, it just does not work. has the problem. When I set up alerts to see what works and what doesn't, this code seems to be causing the FF and IE to not work, but I can't tell what it is that's causing them to fail. This is javascript that is suppose to check if a name has been taken by another user. Very de-motivating My web pages are built with JSP + javascript + AJAX, so a little dynamic when loading a page (it is NOT a static HTML text page). As a common practice, when users visits my website, they can click on a hyperlink to open another webpage. When they want to go back, they can click the browser's BACK button that will bring them back to where they were. What happened to the firefox is that when its default CACHE runs out, it will display: Document Expired This document is no longer available. The requested document is not available in Firefox'x cache. ... [Try Again] The general solution is that I can go to the Options page to either increase the CACHE limit ot clean up the CACHE. But for a public user, they either do not know what to do or assume that my website has problem! Please offer some suggestion to solve this problem such that regardless the caching, the browser's BACK button (or script window.history.back() will always bring it back to the previous page. There is a main page. in that mainpage there is a iframe and in that iframe (id = DocFrame) there is a textbox (id="fileuploadedcnt") which i am trying to access. there is no error. ofcourse i have given name and id to the textbox. This works perfectly in Google Chrome. However, in Firefox I get this error in the console: Code: Error: Permission denied to access property 'document' Source File: http://mysite.com/index1.html Line: 24 I don't have any experience with javascript, but this makes no sense to me, because it should work since the iframe document is on the same domain and server as the parent page. The parent is "mysite.com/index1.html" and the iframe document is "mysite.com/blog/". Why is Firefox complaining about this? It shouldn't violate the "same origin policy" that I have read about. Any help with getting this to work would be appreciated. |
