JavaScript - I Want To Extract Pictures Urls Submitted
I want to type urls in a text field, submit such urls and extract pictures of these web pages. Does anyone know how I can do this using javascript?
Thanks, Marcelo Brazil Similar TutorialsHi all! I have a form called "theForm". How can I tell if the user has submitted the form or hit the submit button?? Is it.. Code: if(document.theForm.onsubmit()){ do something }else{ } hello there im unsure if this is the correct place to post this so if its not im sorry what im trying to do is make a javascript pop-up message in real time alerting members who are online at that time to a game submitted i help run a fifa10 online league site and we are venturing into the 2v2 part of the site. now when a player goes to the 2v2 page they are presented with a submit button to submit a 2v2 game to the system. then this already shows up on the pagebut what we are after is a little pop up box which after the game button is pressed to submit the game the pop-up shows to the whole site that a 2v2 game has been submitted for playing. we want this so you dont have to sit on the 2v2 page to wait for a submitted game. does anybody have any ideas on how we would go about this?? thanks for your time and i hope some1 can help - even if its just in the slightest I'm using submodal-1.6 for popup. When the popup closes I wanted parent page to refresh.I've tried the following window.opener.location.load(); window.opener.location.load(true); location.load(); window.parent.location.reload(); All works for IE, but when coming to mozilla ,firefox the refresh is a step delayed, i.e when I open my popup to add an itme to my cart on parent page ,for the first time it does not show anything , but when I try to add another item , the first one shows. Any advice would be really great. What am I doing wrong here? I am trying to make it where the user can name the link whatever he/she wants.... I think it might be this part... links[i] = name.linkPosition.value; Where linkPosition is a variable. Can I do this? Or is there another way? Code: <div id="navBar"> <ul> <li><a href="#" id="link0"><script>document.write(links[0]);</script></a></li> <li><a href="#" id="link1"><script>document.write(links[1]);</script></a></li> <li><a href="#" id="link2"><script>document.write(links[2]);</script></a></li> <li><a href="#" id="link3"><script>document.write(links[3]);</script></a></li> <li><a href="#" id="link4"><script>document.write(links[4]);</script></a></li> </ul> </div><!--end navBar --> <form> <label style="color: #FFF;">Change name of links! You can only change them once!</label><br /> <input type="text" class="customLink" size="15" name="link0" onblur="this.value=removeSpaces(this.value);" maxlength="8"/> <input type="text" class="customLink" size="15" name="link1" onblur="this.value=removeSpaces(this.value);" maxlength="8"/> <input type="text" class="customLink" size="15" name="link2" onblur="this.value=removeSpaces(this.value);" maxlength="8"/> <input type="text" class="customLink" size="15" name="link3" onblur="this.value=removeSpaces(this.value);" maxlength="8"/> <input type="text" class="customLink" size="15" name="link4" onblur="this.value=removeSpaces(this.value);" maxlength="8"/> <input type="button" onclick="replaceLinks(this.form)" value="Replace Link Names!" /> </form> Code: <script> var links = new Array("home", "portfolio", "stuff", "about me", "contact"); function replaceLinks(name){ for (var i=0; i<=4; i++) { var linkPosition = "link"+i; links[i] = name.linkPosition.value; changeLink(i); } } function changeLink(number) { document.getElementById("link"+number).innerHTML="<span style=\"text-transform: capitalize;\">" + links[number] + "</span>"; } </script> ANY HELP WOULD BE AWESOME!!! I just replaced the functions to look like this... Code: function replaceLinks(name){ for (var i=0; i<=4; i++) { links[i] = name.linker+i.value; changeLink(i); } } function changeLink(linkNumber) { document.getElementById("link"+linkNumber).innerHTML="<span style=\"text-transform: capitalize;\">" + links[linkNumber] + "</span>"; } Now the links are updating but I get NaN for each link. Hi, I have a requirement. I have to submit a form [which will open a new window once it is submitted], and immediatly I have to close the orginal page. Currently I am using window.close() statement after formName.submit(). But it closes the window before submit completes. So I tried with window.setInterval("window.close()",1000); It worked for some time, but when the form submition takes long ... same old repeats Please let me know how to handle this? Below is the code snipet //lanuch_frm has the form and it submits to hidden frame 'lanuch_hidden' [CODE] <frameset rows='0%,*' frameborder="0" marginheight="0" border="0"> <frame name="launch_hidden" /> <frame name="launch_frm" src="<%=url%>" noresize="true" marginheight=0 scrolling="auto" leftmargin=0 topmargin="0" rightmargin="0" frameborder='2' /> </frameset> [CODE] Thanks, Mamidi Hey guys I've got a really simple form: Code: <form name="nextform" method="post" action="page2.php"> <input type="checkbox" name="accepted" />I have read and accept the <a href="tsandcs.php" target="_blank">terms and conditions</a><br /><br /> <input type="image" name="next" alt="Next" src="'.$imagefolder.'next.jpg" /> </form> What I need to do is have it so that the form won't submit unless the tick box has been ticked. If they haven't ticked the box, then a little alert prompting them to do so would be great. I want to use JavaScript to do this, but if someone doesn't have JS enabled, I would like the form to submit anyway. I don't really want to grey the button out a tad. Any ideas guys? Cheers Hello, I have a form which asks for some user data and then submits this data and inserts into a mysql database. I wanted to know the best way to validate the form before the data is submittted to the action script. For example, checking form fields to see if they are empty and also making sure no special characters are inserted by the user. The code I have tried is: Code: function checkForm() { var theForm = document.forms.feedback; if (theForm.fname.value == "" || theForm.loc.value="" || theForm.com.value == "") { alert("Please complete all of the form"); } } Working with this form: Code: <form id="feedback" name="feedback" action="php/phpcustom.php" method="POST"> <fieldset> <legend>Gardenable.com Feedback</legend> <p><label for="fname">Name:</label><input type="text" size="30" maxlength="40" id="fname" name="fname" /></p> <p><label for="loc">Location:</label><input type="text" size="30" maxlength="40" id="loc" name="loc" /></p> <p><label for="com">Comments:</label><textarea cols="40" rows="6" maxlength="300" id="com" name="com"></textarea></p> <p><input type="submit" name="send" id="submitbutton" value="Submit" onclick="checkForm()" /><input type="reset" name="reset" value="Reset" /></p> </fieldset> </form> I've added this function to the onclick attribute of the submit input button but it is just submitting the data and not executing. Just wondering if anyone could please explain how to stop the execution of the data being submitted and check the form before doing so. If not could you possibly advise any good sites/links for me to browse to achieve this. regards, LC. Wasnt sure if I should post this in the JS or HTML forum. I am relatively new to web programming (1.5 years) and this question just occurred to me. I use jquery form validation to validate forms on my site. If my browser has javascript disabled, what is stopping someone from submitting crap through my form? I tried disabling javascript and submitting a form on my site and it posted. Is there a way to make it so if the user does not have javascript enabled the form cannot post? Hello everyone! I hope you can help me. I am writing a submit form that has to have an indication if a form is missing information upon hitting the submit button. I have followed along the steps with my text and I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. Can anyone help me? Here is my code: Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD.HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/htm14/loose.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>Kudler Fine Foods Contact Page</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <!---Kami Demnyan 21 December 2009--> <script type="text/javascript"> /*<![CDATA[*/ <!--This code ensures that the zip code and telephone numbers are actual numerical digits, not letters--> function checkForNumber(fieldValue) { var numberCheck = isNaN(fieldValue); if (numberCheck == true) { window.alert ("Please enter a numerical value"); return false; } } <!--This code ensures that all of the fields contain text, its not functioning, I'm using page 263 in the text as my guide--> function submitForm() { if (document.forms[0].name.value == "" || document.forms[0].address.value == "" || document.forms[0].city.value == "" || document.forms[0].state.value == "" || document.forms[0].zip.value == "" || document.forms[0].phone.value == "" || document.forms[0].email.value == "") { window.alert("Please enter your missing information"); return false; } else return true; } /*]]>*/ </script> </head> <body> <h1> KUDLER FINE FOODS </h1> <h2> JOIN OUR MAILING LIST</h2> <!--This is where the user will input all of their information to join the mailing list--> <form action="completeform.html" method="get" onsubmit="return onSubnit();" enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded"> <p>Name<br /> <input type="text" name="name" size="50" /></p> <p>Address<br /> <input type="text" name="address" size="50" /></p> <p>City, State, Zip <br /> <input type="text" name="city" size="30" /> <input type="text" name="state" size="3" /> <input type="text" name="zip" size="10"; onchange="return checkForNumber(this.value)"; /></p> <p>Telephone<br /> <input type="text" name="phone" size="25" onchange="return checkForNumber(this.value)"; /></p> <p>Email Address<br /> <input type="text" name="email" size="50" /></p> <!--This is where the submit and reset buttons are located--> <p><input type="submit" value="Submit Form" /> <p><input type="reset" value="Reset Form" /> </form> </body> </html> ALSO: My instructor does not want me to use the onchange tag, is there a suitable replacement for that? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Kami All, I have the following code: Code: <div class="col-1"> <div id="swap"> <img src="images/gallery-img3-big.jpg" alt="" /> </div> </div> <div class="col-2"> <div class="list3"> <ul> <li><a href="#"><img src="images/gallery-img1.jpg" alt="" /></a></li> <li><a href="#"><img src="images/gallery-img2.jpg" alt="" /></a></li> <li><a href="#"><img src="images/gallery-img3.jpg" alt="" /></a></li> </ul> </div> </div> When you click on any of the links with the <li> I'd like to put the image that was clicked in the <div id="swap"></div>. So I'm thinking this would have to be done with innerHTML and maybe pass a function the img src of the link that I would click on. Just not sure how to do that though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. All, I have a PHP script that will get images out of the database and display them in a grid. I have two verisons. I save a thumbnail which I display and then a larger image in a different folder. These images are placed in a scroll bar but what I would like to happen is that when I click on a thumbnail it basically displays the bigger image until I click on that image and it goes away. I would love for the middle of the image to be displayed in the middle of the users screen but beggers probably can't be choosers in this case. An example of a similar desired result is a link he http://qrayg.com/experiment/hig/ Instead of the hover, I'd like to utilize the onclick to display and remove the image. If it's easy to put the center in the center of the screen that that would be absolutely incredible as well. Thanks for any guidance you could provide me on this. Thanks in advance! At least, I think it is. On my test site (http://goo.gl/P4SLu), you'll see that the URL first goes to "emineer.com/thesis/," but then quickly changes to "emineer.com/thesis/#page=tabsservices" which refers to a piece of .js I have lower on the page (the tabbed navigation). Is there a way for me to configure this js or CSS so that the URLs are unchanged? I know it's possible because my main site functions perfectly fine: (emineer.com). The code on my main site is just clunky so I decided to start from scratch. Any help here? I'd really like my URLs clean and free of any tags or anything like that. Thanks, Brandon Hello, I'm a complete novice in anything javascript and I've bit off more than I can chew! This script Code: function fixmenu(whichmenu) { var menu = whichmenu.find("a"); for(x = 0; x < menu.length; x++) { var o = menu.get(x); if(o.href.indexOf(".php") < 0) { var i = o.href.lastIndexOf("/"); var nl = "http://domain.com/" + o.href.substring(i + 1); o.href = nl; } } } function flinks() { fixmenu(j$("#div1")); fixmenu(j$("span#div2")); fixmenu(j$("div.div3")); } if(location.href.indexOf("sub.") >= 0 || location.href.indexOf("SUB.") >= 0) { j$(document).ready(flinks); } is not something I wrote, but something I am to make work, and I don't even know where to begin. I'm working on building a website on a custom CMS (I have no control over) and it uses relative urls (no control over that). The problem is we're integrating it with another system on subdomain. Not too sure if that makes sense. Anyways... what this is suppose to accomplish is when the website is at sub.domain.com it rewrites the relative urls in the 3 div containers to absolute urls, but ignore the links going to sub.domain.com already. In the menu (#div1) there are relative links (/page) and then there are links going to sub.domain.com/page. When we go to sub.domain.com it should rewrite the relative links (/page) to domain.com/page, but ignore sub.domain.com/page (absolute link). instead it is rewriting the entirety. Any idea as to how to make this work? Hello, How I open urls sequencially - one by time -, but automatically (each 5 seconds) from a list with dozens of URLs in the same iFRAME? I have what i think it is a simple question to answer. I have a button to open a new link in a iframe (in the same browser window). And what i need is that after i press the button, the link opened would come from a list of html sequencially. I dont want that the html opened would be from a random choice, but i want to be sequential. I hope that i'm being clear in my line of thought. Is this possible? cheers!!! Jan Lee Doing some forum searching, I found the following code: Code: <div id="someThing" style="display:block" >Put something here.</div> <script type="text/javascript"> var nowUrl = location.href; if (nowUrl != "http://jemmakidd.com/categories.php") { document.getElementById("someThing").style.display="none"; } </script> Apparently, this is for use of when you are modifying, for example, a PHP header or footer displayed on every page and you only want something to show up on particular pages. My issue is that I am trying to put something in the header of a Tumblr blog, and I only want it to show on the post pages. The Tumblr main page format is: http://*.tumblr.com/ The Tumblr post page format is: http://*.tumblr.com/post/* Is there any code I can use to do this? i look everywhere for html and Java snip its and all seem to be different, can somebody please tell me how to code something like this, also can the code be easy ish for example. if show is 5pm till 6pm an image appears if show is 6pm till 7pm an image appears i know this is possible but there are so many codes out there, thank you for your help Im trying to edit a homepage for a friend of mine. He wants the page to have a table of 12 total pictures that randomly rotate on refresh. i found this code that refreshes the pictures: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var rand=Math.round(Math.random()*1); var img=new Array(2); img[0]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i897.jpg" ; img[1]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i885.jpg" ; document.write("<img src=\"" + img[rand] + "\" />"); //--> </script> and to come up with the tables i made this code: Code: <table style="background-color: #ffffff;" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="500" bordercolor="#FFCC00"> <tbody> <tr> <td><script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var rand=Math.round(Math.random()*1); var img=new Array(2); img[0]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i897.jpg" ; img[1]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i885.jpg" ; document.write("<img src=\"" + img[rand] + "\" />"); //--> </script></td> <td><script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var rand=Math.round(Math.random()*1); var img=new Array(2); img[0]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i877.jpg" ; img[1]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i876w.jpg" ; document.write("<img src=\"" + img[rand] + "\" />"); //--> </script></td> </tr> <tr> <td><script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var rand=Math.round(Math.random()*1); var img=new Array(2); img[0]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i856w.jpg" ; img[1]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i856.jpg" ; document.write("<img src=\"" + img[rand] + "\" />"); //--> </script></td> <td><script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var rand=Math.round(Math.random()*1); var img=new Array(2); img[0]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i776w.jpg" ; img[1]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i776.jpg" ; document.write("<img src=\"" + img[rand] + "\" />"); //--> </script></td> <td><br /></td> </tr> <tr> <td><script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var rand=Math.round(Math.random()*1); var img=new Array(2); img[0]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i465.jpg" ; img[1]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i335.gif" ; document.write("<img src=\"" + img[rand] + "\" />"); //--> </script></td> <td><script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var rand=Math.round(Math.random()*1); var img=new Array(2); img[0]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i9.jpg" ; img[1]="http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j400/ReggieAzevedoFilho/i1.jpg" ; document.write("<img src=\"" + img[rand] + "\" />"); //--> </script></td> <td><br /></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> but if you see the home page he http://celulardepot.squarespace.com you can see that something is DEFINITLY wrong lol please help me! =D I am using a jquery gallery slideshow on my homepage and I am having an issue where the images loaded before the dom is loaded causing the images to display in an ugly stack. I combated this a bit by setting a height on the div and setting the overflow to hidden. however you can still see the unstyled stack of images within the small div for a couple of seconds before the page is loaded. the code to start the javascript is: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('#photos45').galleryView({ panel_width: 980, panel_height: 300, gallery_width: 980, gallery_height: 900, frame_width: 120, frame_height: 50, pause_on_hover: true, nav_theme: 'light' }); }); </script> and the html is: Code: <div style="height:360px; overflow:hidden; " > <ul id="photos45"> <li><img src="../site_files/banners/cush.jpg" alt="Baffin Cush"/></a></li> <li><img src="../site_files/banners/coveralls.jpg" alt="Big Al Coveralls"/></li> <li><img src="../site_files/banners/chloe.jpg" alt="Baffin Chloe" /></li> <li><img src="../site_files/banners/chloe.jpg" alt="Baffin Chloe" /></li> </ul> </div> I have a feeling that this has something to do with the .ready function maybe it should be something else? You can see this in action he http://bit.ly/8QRXWU I am trying to load some hundreds of urls from a local text file. I was able to load them into an array. I want to load them sequentially after certain time interval. The script works fine if I remove setinterval but without it only 1 url gets loaded. Is there any other way to load all urls automatically 1-by-1. Here is the code: <html> <head> </head> <script type="text/javascript"> var allText =[]; var allTextLines = []; var Lines = []; var txtFile = new XMLHttpRequest(); //var i=0; txtFile.open("GET", "URL.txt", true); allText = txtFile.responseText; txtFile.onreadystatechange = function f() { if (txtFile.readyState == 4) { allText = txtFile.responseText; allTextLines = allText.split(/\r\n|\n/);//the urls are separated by /n document.write(allText); var i=Math.floor(Math.random()*100); window.location=allTextLines[i]; setInterval(f(),5000);// trying to load after 5 sec. } else { //alert("Didn't work"); } } txtFile.send(null); // <body onLoad="setInterval('f()', 30000)"> /* function onLoad(URL){ if(onLoad.loaded) window.setTimeout(f,0); else if (window.addEventListener) window.addEventListener("load",f,false); else if (window.attachEvent) window.attachEvent("onload",f); } onLoad.loaded=false; onLoad(function() { onLoad.loaded=true; }); */ </script> </html> I'm trying to learn how to use the url's scene7 gives me to have dynamic zoom images. The problem is I cant figure out how to load the url into a webpage instead of the browser. Here is an example image using the flyout zoom feature in scene 7. In the browser you can see the url is calling the image and the dynamic feature from scene7. How do i do this in a webpage using whatever code I need to. I've tried making it a link with an img src but that doesnt work. Im stuck and need help. Thanks for your advice. Oh, and if this is the wrong section to post in I apologize.
