JavaScript - Submit Two Html Forms With One Javascript Onclick Event With Chrome
I have a web page with two forms, when I click the button on one of the forms, the onclick event goes to a javascript that emails the first form and then the second form. This is correct, this is the way I want this to work. It's simple, it's easy, it works!
However, it only works in FireFox and Internet Explorer, it will not work in Google Chrome browser. I've spent many hours trying lots of various ways to implement this so I'm not interested in speculating about possible solutions that might work, I've already tried too many of those. Also, it needs to work this way, not combining the forms, etc. Does anyone have any tried and tested solutions that work with Chrome? Thanks, in advance, for your expert advice. I know I can always rely on EE when all else fails. I know somebody here can solve this problem. Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1250"> <title></title> </head> <body> <form id="NameForm" method="post" action="mailto:yourFirstemail@email.com"> Name: <input type="text" size="10" name="name"> <br /> <input onclick=functionCaller() type="button" value="Submit Two Forms"> </form> <form id="AddressForm" name="DComments" method="post" action="mailto:yourSecondemail@email.com"> Address: <input type="text" size="10" name="address"> <br /> </form> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function functionCaller() { document.getElementById('NameForm').submit(); document.getElementById('AddressForm').submit(); } --> </script> </body> </html> Similar TutorialsI assum the following html code: <div id="id1" onclick="click()">A<div> <div id="id2" onclick="click()">B<div> Do you know how to get ID = id2 when I onclick on A? I'm trying to figure out a way to put this in all js code with the onclick event handlers and the parameters. I have 3 links that switch the style of my page. Right now I have them working with inline event handlers. Here are my code snippets below. HTML: Code: <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="style1.css" type="text/css" title="style1"/> <link rel="alternate stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style2.css" title="style2" /> <link rel="alternate stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style3.css" title="style3" /> </head> <div class="styleLinks"> <a href="#" id="style1" onclick="setStyleSheets('style1'); return false;">Style 1</a> <a href="#" id="style2" onclick="setStyleSheets('style2'); return false;">Style 2</a> <a href="#" id="style3" onclick="setStyleSheets('style3'); return false;">Style 3</a> </div> JS: Code: function setStyleSheets(title) { //set styles and set cookie var i; var attribute; var today = new Date(); var expDate = new Date(today.getTime() + 7*24*60*60*1000); var styleSelected = ""; if (title=="style2"){ styleSelected = "style2"; } else if (title=="style3"){ styleSelected = "style3"; } for(i=0; (attribute = document.getElementsByTagName("link")[i]); i++) { if(attribute.getAttribute("rel").indexOf("style") != -1 && attribute.getAttribute("title")) { attribute.disabled = true; if(attribute.getAttribute("title") == title) attribute.disabled = false; SetCookie ('style', styleSelected, expDate, "/"); } } } hello everyone, i am new to all this.. i need help regarding.. i am generating text box dynamically(mean it's a multiple select box, depending upon the number you select , it will generate that many text field.) my problem is that i want to assign a calender to the text field generated whenever a user clicks on that text field. i am able to do it for simple text field as onclick="javascript: showCalendar('idname')" but how to do it in this case, where can i declare this ? Hi Everyone, How would i add an avent listener to change the source of an image? I have added the image to a canvas element through javascript using the code below. Code: var start = new Image(); start.src = "start.jpg"; ctx.drawImage(start, 50, 50); Thanks! Ok... so I just downloaded the new Adobe Edge program for creating HTML5 websites. I was trying out a proof of concept for something I wanted to do on a site with a simple circle shape (will eventually be a soccer ball) rolling across the screen when clicked. The animation looks great, but it happens when the page loads, not when the image is clicked. Any suggestions?? Thanks! My HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Untitled</title> <!--Adobe Edge Runtime--> <script type="text/javascript" src="edge_includes/jquery-1.4.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="edge_includes/jquery.easing.1.3.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="edge_includes/edge.0.1.1.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="edge_includes/edge.symbol.0.1.1.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="ball_edge.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="ball_edge.css"/> <!--Adobe Edge Runtime End--> </head><body> <div id="stage" class="symbol_stage"> </div> </body> </html> ball_edge.css Code: /** * Adobe Edge(TM): Generated CSS * Do not edit this file. */ #stage { height: 560px; background-color: rgba(255,255,255,1); width: 931px; } #RoundRect1 { background-color: rgba(0,0,0,1.00); -webkit-transform: translateX(18.9112px) translateY(69.673px) rotate(0deg); -moz-transform: translateX(18.9112px) translateY(69.673px) rotate(0deg); -ms-transform: translateX(18.9112px) translateY(69.673px) rotate(0deg); -o-transform: translateX(18.9112px) translateY(69.673px) rotate(0deg); } .default_end_Default_Timeline #RoundRect1 { } ball_edge.js Code: /** * Adobe Helium: symbol definitions */ window.symbols = { "stage": { version: "0.1", baseState: "Base State", initialState: "Base State", parameters: { }, content: { dom: [ { id:'RoundRect1', type:'rect', rect:[234,175,81,82], borderRadius:[10,10,10,10], fill:['rgba(0,0,0,1.00)'], stroke:[0,"rgba(0,0,0,1)","none"], }, ], symbolInstances: [ ], }, states: { "Base State": { "#stage": [ ["style", "height", '560px'], ["color", "background-color", 'rgba(255,255,255,1)'], ["style", "width", '931px'] ], "#RoundRect1": [ ["color", "background-color", 'rgba(0,0,0,1.00)'], ["style", "border-bottom-left-radius", [41,41],{valueTemplate:'@@0@@px @@1@@px'}], ["transform", "translateX", '18.9112px'], ["style", "border-bottom-right-radius", [41,41],{valueTemplate:'@@0@@px @@1@@px'}], ["style", "border-top-left-radius", [41,41],{valueTemplate:'@@0@@px @@1@@px'}], ["style", "border-top-right-radius", [41,41],{valueTemplate:'@@0@@px @@1@@px'}], ["transform", "translateY", '69.673px'], ["transform", "rotateZ", '0deg'] ] } }, actions: { }, bindings: [ ], timelines: { "Default Timeline": { fromState: "Base State", toState: "", duration: 1000, timeline: [ { id: "eid32", tween: [ "style", "#RoundRect1", "border-bottom-right-radius", [41,41], { valueTemplate: '@@0@@px @@1@@px', fromValue: [41,41]}], position: 0, duration: 0, easing: "linear" }, { id: "eid30", tween: [ "style", "#RoundRect1", "border-top-left-radius", [41,41], { valueTemplate: '@@0@@px @@1@@px', fromValue: [41,41]}], position: 0, duration: 0, easing: "linear" }, { id: "eid18", tween: [ "transform", "#RoundRect1", "rotateZ", '360deg', { valueTemplate: undefined, fromValue: '0deg'}], position: 0, duration: 1000, easing: "linear" }, { id: "eid31", tween: [ "style", "#RoundRect1", "border-top-right-radius", [41,41], { valueTemplate: '@@0@@px @@1@@px', fromValue: [41,41]}], position: 0, duration: 0, easing: "linear" }, { id: "eid17", tween: [ "transform", "#RoundRect1", "translateX", '511.599px', { valueTemplate: undefined, fromValue: '18.9112px'}], position: 0, duration: 1000, easing: "easeInCirc" }, { id: "eid29", tween: [ "style", "#RoundRect1", "border-bottom-left-radius", [41,41], { valueTemplate: '@@0@@px @@1@@px', fromValue: [41,41]}], position: 0, duration: 0, easing: "linear" }] } }, }}; /** * Adobe Edge DOM Ready Event Handler */ $(window).ready(function() { $.Edge.initialize(symbols); }); /** * Adobe Edge Timeline Launch */ $(window).load(function() { $.Edge.play(); }); Code: Quote: Code: Quote: Code: Quote: can somebody please tell me what need done. Everything is working fine except for the button created in javascript that is in the second window which is to open the third window. Thanks. Ok so Im going to break down what Im trying to do and hopefully someone can point me to a possible solution without getting all technical. I have 2 div tags. the first is a content container more or less. the second is a container for a php built calender (using html tables). Basically when the page loads the php builds the calenders html table code. each td element has an onclick event handler. The goal is to have the javascript handler execute when any non empty cell is clicked (non empty being that it has a date associated with it and is not a blank space filler). This is the easy part. The hard part is that each calendar day potentially has certain information associated with it stored in a mysql database. Im wanting input fields within the first container div to autopopulate with the information from the database (if any) for whatever day is clicked. Ive search around and heard things like javascript cant do mysql queries directly, and heard mention of ajax. So im stumped as to how to accomplish this. whether i need an external php script for the queries (perhaps inside a php function that can return data to the javascript that calls it?), but if that is plausable would it cause page loads or the like to the user? i really dont want to have to learn ajax for this one page, just seems excessive, but i do need a way to make the content in the first div populate with the respective database data for the selected day on the calendar. any thoughts, comments, or solutions that dont involve yet another web language would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Hello all, This is a follow up with a new question from a post I did last week. http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...098#post956098 I have an experimental website where I have music recordings. url removed When you open the site, each page uses a piano keyboard graphic to navigate between pages. If you click on a key that says "Jukebox" it will open a small window and continuously play tunes. The way the jukebox works basically is, when you click the jukebox key it calls an html file which contains the information needed to play the first song. When that song is finished it calls another html file with the information to play the second song and so on. Each html file contains an embedded Windows Media Player in it. I would like to give visitors the option to use the QuickTime player. So I can have one key in the keyboard graphic that say “Jukebox – for Windows Media Players” and then another key in the graphic that would say “Jukebox – for QuickTime players”. I would like to use both keys to call the same html file. So, in the file I would like to: 1. Determine which key was pressed in the graphic. (how to send a parameter from the keyboard graphic file indicating which key was pressed) 2. With that parameter I would then like to invoke the appropriate player. (how to receive that parameter) After the help I received last week I have my html in the keyboard graphic file set up as follows to call the first html file with the first song: Code: <AREA SHAPE="rect" HREF="#" onclick="window.open('ShirleyLee.html','jukebox', 'toolbar=0,location=0,directories=0,status=0,menubar=0,scrollbars=1 ,resizable=0,copyhistory=0,left=0,top=0,screenX=0,screenY=0,width=410 ,height=300');return false;"onMouseover="document.roll.src=F1 _Down.src"onMouseout="document.roll.src=KeysUp.src"COORDS=" 233,344,335,384" NAME="roll"ALT="F1"> I think we would be talking about the use of forms but not sure how to incorporate along with an onclick event.... The reason for this post is just to get some high level discussion ideas so that I can take that and go research how to do it. I could ask specifics later. Thanks! Dan I have created some online software which uses form data to submit to another page. The problem is that I have other submit buttons in the same form which submit to different pages (depending on which button is pressed). The first submit button works fine but all the others only work once. Code: <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button1' onclick="wbform.action='page1.php'; target='mainFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button2' onclick="wbform.action='page2.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button3' onclick="wbform.action='page3.php'; target='topFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button4' onclick="wbform.action='page4.php'; target='topFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button5' onclick="wbform.action='page5.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button6' onclick="wbform.action='page6.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> Any ideas my friends? "; message += "Your total price is $" + price; var r=confirm(message);// displays the message in a pop-up return(1); } </script> </html> I just have a quick question.... Is it possible to use Javascript to set the name of a tag to be the tag's id? For example, something like this: Code: <input type="text" id="textInput" name="this.id"> The example code above doesn't work. The reason I'm asking is because I have a complex form that uses Javascript to change ids a lot (the input fields are dynamically created). When I was coding the form I completely overlooked the fact I need to use the name tag to process it with PHP. (to enter it into a mysql database) It'd be a pain to have to go through all my javascript and change the name where ever I change the ids. If need be, I'll do this, but I'm just looking for an easier way. Thanks in advance! Hey guys, I use a newsletter service called Aweber to handle my blog's subscription service. What I have right now is a simple HTML form that I can have pass its variables through to a thank you page, so I can add customization there. The web form looks like this: Name: ________________ Email: ________________ Choose a free gift!: drop down list with "gift1" "gift2" or "gift3" as the choices. When a user submits the form, it will bring them to a custom thank you page, which I have made as "thank-you.php". On the "thank you" page, there is a javascript code that was given by Aweber which basically loads up all the variables... you can then CALL all of the variables in the page like this: <script type="text/javascript">formData.display("name")</script> ========================== So what's my question? I wanted there to be a display on the bottom that would allow users to download a different gift based on whether they chose gift 1, 2 or 3. I would also love to have there be an image of the ebook next to the download link depending on which book they chose. Is there a way I can pass variables through into an html <img> tag? (i.e. src="http://www.website.com/formData.display("gift").jpg" ... or something like that). Building off this, how would I generate a different download link based on the choice they made in the web form? (i.e. <a href="http://www.website.com/formData.display("gift").pdf"> or similar) Hopefully this all makes sense, let me know if you can help! Hello everyone at CodingForums! This is my first post on this site and I would really appreciate any help I can get, First off, all I am trying to do is have someone enter one value into a field then another value into the second field, then have javascript subtract those numbers. This is my first time trying to do something on my own without tutorial help, so I am for the most part just stumbling in the dark. here is what I have thus far: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var lastMonth; var thisMonth; function diff(form) { var difference; difference = lastMonth - thisMonth; form.Fdiff.value = difference; } function SetLast(usuage) { lastMonth = usuage.value; } function SetThis(usuage2) { thisMonth = usuage2.value; } // --> </script> <center> <form method="post"> <TABLE border=3> <tr> <tr> <td><p>Last Months <br /> Usuage</p></td> <td><p>This Months <br /> Usuage</p></td> <td><p>Difference</p></td> <TD><INPUT TYPE=BUTTON ONCLICK="diff(this.form)" VALUE="Calculate"></TD> </tr> <tr> </tr> <td><p><input type=text name=lastMonth size="4" onchange="SetLast(usuage)"></p></td> <td><p><input type=text name=thisMonth size="4" onchange="SetThis(usuage2)"></p></td> <td><p><INPUT TYPE=text NAME="Fdiff" VALUE="" SIZE="6"></p></TD> <TD><p></p></tr> </tr> </tr> </table> </form> </center> </center> I'm going off of the code found at this site "http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/cut141.shtml" for a calorie counter. the way the code is now, I get a NaN in the difference box. Again, I would appropriate ANY help and guidance you guys could provide. Thanks i have the code: foreach($product_names as $product_row) { ?> <tr> <td > </td><td width='200px'><?php echo $product_row->getName();?></td> <td width='200px'><input type="checkbox" name="graphic[]" value="<?php echo $product_row->getId();?>" onclick="check()"/></td> <td width='200px'><input type="checkbox" name="text[]" value="<?php echo $product_row->getId();?>" onclick="check()"/></td> </tr> <?php } ?> and a submit button on the page. the i also have the javascript code for the onclick="check()" : <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function check() { var graphics = document.getElementsByName("graphic[]"); for(i=0;i<graphics.length;i++) { if(graphics[i].checked) { if(document.getElementById('submit').style.display=='none') { document.getElementById('submit').style.display='block'; } } } var text = document.getElementsByName("text[]"); for(i=0;i<text.length;i++) { if(text[i].checked) { if(document.getElementById('submit').style.display=='none') { document.getElementById('submit').style.display='block'; } } } } </script> </head> so what all this means is i have two arrays of checkboxes for each product. as soon as i check any checkbox the submit button appears. i click on the submit button and i go to the next form. the problem now comes in if i click on the "back" button to go back to the previous page via the bwrowser..the submit button is disabled althou all my checkboxes that i checked, are still checked....i want the submit button to show??? please help?? thanks HTML TARGET: Code: <div id="login_link" style="margin-top:-142px;margin-left:245px;height:142px;"> <img id="login_link" src="menu_button.png" /><a href="#"><img src="menu_button.png" /></a></div> </div> I'm trying to get menu_button.png to change to menu_button2.png on mouseover... I'd also like it to play a sound on click like "click.wav" I can't rename the div because it controls the slider Heres my current project table: http://bit.ly/dbwH23 I tried to put it in a span and have the span referance to the next tag but it didn't seem to work at least not in firefox. I'm going to keep lookin around but i'm not used to these types of code structure. I was thinking of Embeding a flash file inside the div instead but that might be overkill. Anyone know of a solution that might work? Hello folks! This is my first time posting here, and I am relatively new to JavaScript. I have come in need of assistance in guiding me in the right direction. My intentions are to create a web-based page where one can select from a few drop down menu's, and enter a few select pieces of information. This information would then be logged for later purposes, when the user chooses to retrieve this information (during the initial usage, no long term storage) in the format of a report. Would anyone have sources to similar coded applications, or any ideas of the directions I can go in for further assistance. I have at this point been utilizing the W3 website to learn. Thanks a ton! Hello forum, My name is juan and recently started html programming. I have a web page with a drop box with the name of states. Code: <option value="">Alabama</option> <option value="">Alaska</option> I can add a onclick="code here" to the tag so that when the drop box alabama is selected it triggers the onclick event. Im using Ibox in order to have a image of the state open. Code: <a href="images/large/image_1b.jpg" rel="ibox" title="alabama at 1024x450!"><img src="images/small/image_1.jpg" alt=""/></a> the above is a <a> link tag correct? How do I go bout adding the above code into the onclick event? Hi, New to javascript. Doing web page with ASP/VB.NET. Have text boxes for UI on page. Two command buttons - Submit (for db update) and Cancel. I need the Cancel button to prompt the user to verify cancellation. Need OK/Cancel buttons on alert. If user selects Cancel-no action. If user selects OK then I want the text boxes cleared of user text input and focus returned to first text box. I think this may be the code but do not know how to apply it. function Clear() { var res=window.confirm("Please confirm cancellation-text boxes will be cleared"); if(res==true) { document.getElementById("StrtDte").value=""; document.getElementById("EndDte").value=""; document.getElementById("txtProjRegHrsAl").value=""; document.getElementById("txtProjOTHrsAl").value=""; document.getElementById("ddlRAS").focus(); } } Is this code valid or invalid for the events I need? How do I set it to fire when user clicks the ASP Cancel button? Thanks, John I am not familiar with javascript only html, but I have researched this problem and found some solutions, but I am unsure what to do with them. I have an html checkbox form that lists book titles. The user will click on the checkbox next to the titles that interest them. Then when they click submit, I want a pop-up box to appear with the titles they selected in a printable list. I found this javascript code: Code: <script langauge="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function openPreview() { var myWin = window.open ("popup.htm","myWindowName","width=500,height=350"); myWin.focus(); } </script> Then here is my html form code: Code: <form action="" form id= "myInput"> <table width="523"> <tr><td width="33"> <input type="checkbox" name="product" value="Ironman"></td> <td width="229"><div align="left">Ironman</div></td> <td width="174">Chris Crutcher </td> <td width="56" align="right"> </td></tr> <tr><td><input type="checkbox" name="product" value="Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes"> <th><div align="left">Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes </div></th> <td>Chris Crutcher </td> <td align="right"><tt>Realism</tt></td> </tr> <tr><td><input type="checkbox" name="product" value="The Watsons Go to Birmingham"> <th><div align="left">The Watsons Go to Birmingham </div></th> <td>Chrisopher Paul Curtis </td> <td align="right"> </td> </tr> </table> <input type="button" id="btnPreview" name="btnPreview" value="Preview" onclick="openPreview()" /> </form> Then on the popup.htm page I have this code Code: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> document.write(window.opener.document.getElementById("myInput").value); </script> This code has worked for me when the form is a textarea or a label, but I don't know how to use it with a checkbox form. I know that labeling the form "my input" only works for textarea or labels, so I understand why the pop-up menu says undefined. What do I need to do to get the checkbox data to appear. |
