JavaScript - Using Ajax To Load Form From Another Domain
Hello all,
I am building a service that other developers will use. As part of this, they need to embed a form on their website. This form will be hosted on my server, be updated periodically, etc. We'd been trying to create a Javascript file that would use JQuery to load the form, but we're running into issues from the Same Origin Policy, where Ajax requests cannot be made across different domains. Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this? We thought about using an iframe, but that solution will not suffice. Thanks! Is this correct and, if so, does anyone know of a work around, because I really need to be able to store the ajax script on domain1 and run it on domain2? If not, then can anyone suggest why I'm getting an HTTP status of 0, when all the individual components are working fine? Debbie Hi All, I'm writing this post as there are alot of questions about Cross Domain AJAX request so i'm going to give an overview of the different ways and the best practices Ok so there are 2 systems for this the key difference is how much control you have. If you control the Requested site you can use Javascript Safe calling to that server, this is all done via a few Headers so to do this all you have to do is send some headers from the page your requesting. The first is tell the browser that the site the AJAX call is coming from is allowed this is done with "Access-Control-Allow-Origin: " Now this can be set to a wild card and allow all sites to access the page "Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *" Or you can say only a set server can "Access-Control-Allow-Origin: mydomain.com" This header allows GET requests but what if you need to post data to the site well you need to tell the browser that POST data is allowed to be sent Access-Control-Allow-Headers: GET,POST Now we run into the problem that sending post data the browser will send the header Content-Type but your server has not told the browser its allowed to send that header so Access-Control-Allow-Methods: Content-Type Will allow the header to be sent if you wish to send any other custom headers you have to make your server tell the browser its allowed to send them this is done by adding them as a comma delimited list via the "Access-Control-Allow-Headers" header Now if you dont have control well then your back to using a script that is local to the AJAX script then sending the data via cURL or another connection method to the remote server Please note i will be uploading examples in php later. When Page1 body onloads it uses Ajax to call PartA Within PartA I have a message board so members can write messages which will be sent to my database in PartA[1] and immediately posted for view on to PartA[2]. As I want to have my request to the server updating regularly I want to have PartA[2] on a timed loop to refresh - I do not need the content of PartA[1] to refresh. I have already used my body onload to call PartA (and can't use it to call PartA[2] before PartA has loaded anyway). The other contents of "ajax_display-contentselection.asp" are displayed properly in "div_ajaxfillattractions" of "default.asp", but no javascript code on that page loads. If I use "ajax_display-contentselection.asp" as an include file on "default.asp", I get the javascript alert of 'Success', but when I initiate the AJAX it does not work, so I know there isn't a problem with the javascript. My AJAX functions work (tested manually using servlet URL's). The second servlet validates the reCaptcha form that's generated on my webpage. After the form is validated, even if everything's correct, nothing happens upon clicking submit. I even have an alert pop up if with the captcha result, just for middle-layer debugging purposes. I want to do all of my validation clientside; none serverside. However, going to be tough if I can't get my god damn form to submit. I've been puzzled by this for close to 36 hours straight. I want to add javascript to cut the string in Username. When the use type full domain address it will cut the string from "@camintel.com" and "@camintel.com.kh" . So if user type "test@camintel.com" in Username, the input will be "test". I tried to code it my self, but none is working. So please, could u help me to code this? Thanks alots. Hi, I currently have a form which is submitted using a html submit button. I was wondering what the best way is of using ajax to submit the page without the use of a submit button, and when the page submits, a message is displayed saying thank you for your booking. Thanks. This form retrieves results from a mysql database. It works fine but when I click submit it shows the result only for a second. When I hold down submit the result stays there. How do I get the result to stay on the screen after I hit submit? Even better how do I get it to spit out results without having to hit a submit button or press enter? Code: <html>

I am trying to perform an AJAX lookup during form validation onsubmit. It is important that it takes place during submit, but it seems to always return true and allow the form to post even when it should not. Thank you for any help. Hi, I have a form which goes to my insert page which inserts the data into the table. Except I didn't want to do a redirect to another page so I thought I would do an Ajax call. Both pages work until I change it to an ajax call. I am pretty certain that it is because I took out the <form action="insert.php"> because otherwise the page would redirect but if that is the case I don't know my way around it and if it isn't the problem I'm not sure what is. I am creating a customized home page that can display regular links and login forms. I am adding Gmail login form into it. I can further customize it by putting multiple sign in buttons that can fill in username/password for different accounts before submitting. Here's the preview: http://imgur.com/s4Ert.jpg Now the problem is, in Gmail login form a hidden variable called "dsh" is filled with a value that is matched with server as well as a cookie, this value changes in some hours. So this means that I cannot create a complete offline form, but is it possible to load the login page hidden, and catch the value from it? I tried with an iframe with display:none and src="http://mail.google.com" but it opened in the top frame. Any other ideas? In short, what we need is, every time a page is opened from my computer, an online page should be open invisible from the user, and a hidden form value is to be fetched from it. I'm trying to write a progressively enhanced web application. I have an index page and a form with some select boxes and some radio buttons on a different php page. Before enhancement occurs, the form is accessible via regular links and everything works as expected. No issues. In the enhanced version of the application, the form is AJAXed into the index page. When this occurs, the select boxes in the form work perfectly. The radio buttons are initially unchecked and I can check one option as usual. However, once one is checked, clicking the other radio options does nothing. I am unable to check a different option. Anybody got a clue what the problem is? Using Chrome by the way. Firefox is the same as Chrome. In IE I can't even check a radio button the first time. I thought this could be causing the problem initially but the exact same code is used in the non-enhanced version and it works fine. I tried commenting it out anyway but it makes no difference. The only thing I can think of is that some javascript is preventing me from selecting a different radio option. That would explain why it works ok in the non-enhanced version because there is no JS there. I can't find anything that I've written that might cause this effect I'm using jQuerys form plugin on my pages. I'm going to try writing it out and see if that fixes anything. Any body ever experience a similar problem with this? In the mean time, is there a way I can check if any JS functions when I click on the radio button? checkRegistration.php looks like this: PHP Code: <? session_start(); $firstName=$_POST['firstName']; echo($firstName); ?> The problem is that the response is empty, but I don't know why. I have checked the input data and the postData variable says "firstName="+input (e.g. "firstName=Robert"), so that's not the error. I have read several forum posts here, but still haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong. If anyone could please tell me, I would appreciate it alot. he everyone please i want to know how to submit a form using ajax every 5 minutes without reloading page i have a huge form for exams and i need to submit the form without the need to wait until pressing submit because the user may wait to think about the answer a very long time.. so i want to submit the form and at the same time i cant reload the page as it is in normal submit form.. so how i can submit form in the background without letting the user knows that the form is submitted??? |
