JavaScript - Document Null In Iframe
Hi, im having a problem loading a webpage inside a frameset. This frameset is inside an iframe.
when i click the link in menu, it creates an iframe that load a frameset page (with two frames), the upper frame loads a webpage, this webpage in the body onLoad calls a javascript and passes a name of a webpage that must load in the other frame, the problem im facing is in the javascript, it returns null. this is the code. Hi, first post here. I was working on code for opening a link in a new window when clicked. I read somewhere that it's a good idea to remove all of the javascript elements from the HTML. So I pieced it together and it works. The code does work as planned. But I'd still like to get rid of the error. Can anybody think of a different way of stating the javascript that would perform the same thing and lose the error? FF and Chrome seem to work ok, but it breaks in IE. I have only the class check as reference, and cannot add any id or class into iframe, it's not a button, it should load with the page and check if it should display or not the iframe. Hi I am having trouble with a script. I cannot figure out why I get the message: error: null is null or not an object (In IE8) The site is: www.rayburns.com I have check the javascript for the navigation bar and for the rotating images and cannot see what is missing. Another Update. I am back to the original question. null is null or not an object.. in my search i have found this found a solution. basically Internet Explorer is crappy and doesnt like the setAttribute property so had to change the onchange handler by directly changing the attrbute for the object like so. object.onchange = function() {} i have no idea what they means, does that mean i need to change swfobject.js or does that mean i have to change my xml request. and if it is the swfobject i have no clue what they mean or what lines My code is here and it works ... However, I would like my dynamic table to show on the same page as my body and not on a new blank page. I have created a DIV and try playing around with the document.getElementById('monTab').innerHTML but it's not working out for me ... What am i missing ? The IE error is just giving me line number 1 of the php, but the error, I'm sure, lays in the Javascript. Is there a "cleaner" way of doing this? This was an old code, i have yet to find a more modern one. Thank you in advance. I'm working on a website that will basically embed a widget/frame sent by a handler into a user's current page. The user basically adds a script tag to where they would like the HTML to be. The script tag has their settings and is basically a document.write that calls all the code that we want displayed. So here's my problem. We have a map that we need to add in a specific section, and to get the map we have to call another script tag. So we end up having a script tag (map) embedded in another script tag (the code for the widget/frame) or we end up having to document.write inside a document.write. Now this works just fine and as expected in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. However, Internet Explorer and Opera wait until the first document.write is completely finished before calling the embedded one. Of course the problem with this, is that it takes the map out of the document's flow and just appends it to the bottom left of the page. Since the rest of the page has already been called, there's no way to move the interior "map" script. Any ideas? Basically just trying to figure out how (if even possible) to render an embedded script tag in Internet Explorer and be able to place it properly. I've tried everything that I can think of, including AJAX and Google's unescape script. Any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. Or even if you've encountered a similar problem, and know that it just isn't possible in IE or Opera, that would be fine too. Thanks in advance! |
