JavaScript - Jscript Play Button Works In Iphone But Not Ipad
I have a simple play js button on my HTML page as well as embedded music. So when you are a computer the music autoplays then stops and you have the option to listen to it again with the js button. This "theoretically" will work fine for the iPhone and iPad because even though the embedded music isn't auto playing the user can still click the listen button and hear the music. It works on the iPhone perfectly but not the iPad. I'm at a loss.

Hello I'm having problems with a very simple bit of Javascript not working with the latest version of Safari for ipads and iphones. The script in question is used as a 'previous image ' and 'next image' navigation facility, basically closing one pop-up window and opening up another, when viewing a photo gallery. It has worked perfectly for a number of years on all browsers. It is only the latest version of Safari for ipads and iphones where there's a problem. On an iphone, the new window unfortunately opens up in a new tab and the existing window fails to close. Mobile Safari soon reaches the maximum of 8 permissible tabs as a user moves through the photos gallery. I'll come clean and admit I'm not a programmer and have a very basic and ancient understanding of HTML coding. My website must be approaching double digit years old (which will be immediately apparent if you view its structure). I can usually resolve most things, and maintain its functioanality when needs be, but this particular problem has got me stumped. I've come onto this forum to see if anyone could provide a simple work-around ? Or if anyone would know if this is a bug within Safari which may be rectified soon (a search through the Apple forums gave no clues). I use php to create buttons based on values pulled for a table. The problem I have is when you click on the first button the javascript function works great, when you click on the next button you get the same output even though it should be different results. I am working in ff and I can see on my firebug console that the javascript function is being called, but it is not passing the new value of the second or third button, it just keeps repassing the value of the first button. And getShow.php produces a table with a list of product images, names and prices, based on theme. So basically not sure where I am going wrong here? This may seem a bit of an unusual question, but I've been tossing around an idea in my head for an experimental collaborative art & music website. I've not started building the site at all, and I've only a little HTML and no scripting experience. I plan on most likely using a service like squarespace for the ease of updating and member system and other features. (I imagine a few around here scoff at that kind of service! But that's beside the present issue.) So I imagine that if javascript is capable of handling this, it's not an extremely complicated solution. For example: say I have a song I'd like users to be able to listen to, but I want to split the parts (drums, strings, guitars, vocals, etc.) among a few different audio files, all embedded within close proximity of each other (say arranged vertically in two columns) on the same page. I want this so that users are free to play around with the parts, dropping them, lowering & raising volume, even pulling them out of sync if they please. Now what I want is a single button that will trigger all of the audio files to begin playback simultaneously, say, above the embedded files and centered. Would this be possible? Could anyone offer assistance in setting up this kind of thing? Thanks in advance! Title explains it really. Anyway, the site has a page where people can choose from menuitems of a form ("select" elements). That form info is then used to call Foxycart. I've decided to link the choosing of those menu-items to showing appropriate product images, thus providing visual feedback for the buyer. I have hacked my way to a point that the page does what I want in Firefox, but it breaks in IE and I have no idea why since the same sort of simple code algorithm to poll the menus with "document.getElementByIdworks" works in IE until I leave the page, but then stops working when I return.
