JavaScript - Bookmark To Flash File Not Working
Hi
just wondering if someone could check my code. I have a flash document that is referenced in index.html file below. I want to create book marks to specific pages of the flash file. My code below opens it up at the first page but I want it to open at page 5. Any help would be appreciated? Code: <script language="javaScript"> function loadPage($page) { var load = window.open('/resources/default/html/Mag/index.html?page='+$page,'','scrollbars=no,menubar=no,height=800,width=1280,resizable=no,toolbar=no,location=no,status=no'); } </script> <LI><A href="javascript:loadPage(5)">Face to face1</A></LI> Similar TutorialsSo I'm trying to make a free flash game site that is not completely annoying and never redirects you to another site. i'm hosting all my flash games on my server. when you select the game you would like to play, it loads the file name into a javascript variable that gets sent to my game.html where i would like the game to load. every game should load on this same page. I cannot for the life of me find how to read the variable in html. I've tried embed, object, documentwrite, basically everything i could find doing google searches for 10 hours. I'm no expert programmer, but I've never had to post a question to any forum EVER before because I always figure it out on my own. Not this time. i don't want to include any code i'm using because i would like the proper format. tell me what to do with it and i will do anything in my power to make you feel special. i'll devote a special page to you highlighting your genius on my site. this is a terrible example of what I'm trying to do, just imagine VARIABLEGOESHERE = mystinkingame.swf: [CODE] <object width="550" height="400"> <param name="movie" value="VARIABLEGOESHERE"> <embed src="VARIABLEGOESHERE" width="550" height="400"> </embed> </object> [CODE] it is also clear that i do not understand the [CODE] tag in your forum. worked it out
Can anyone post Add bookmark script that works fine on all major browsers (IE, FF, Opera, Chrome, safari)? The script should be as compact as possible. All I have found works only on opera or firefox but not both. Thanks We have an html page which brings in content dynmically using Ajax. So the page starts out with certain content, and when a particular link is clicked, the content is swapped out with new content. With this approach, the back button on the browser does not work, because the URL didn't actually change. How could a user bookmark the new page with the second set of content? Is this even possible?
Hi... I am having a problem with the resize... I use the script below to adjust the size of the frame. It works nicely for me. The only problem is, the frame initially jumps to the bookmark, and then on the reload, jumps to the top of the page. Any ideas on how to keep the frame at the bookmark in the web page, instead of jumping back up to the top???? Thanks much in advance.... <script> <!-- function resize_iframe(){ if ( window.frames["MainWindow"].document.body.scrollHeight=0 ) { } else { document.getElementById("MainWindow").height=100 document.getElementById('MainWindow').height=window.frames["MainWindow"].document.body.scrollHeight + 20 } } // --> </script> <IFRAME src="main.htm" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" ID=MainWindow NAME=MainWindow HEIGHT=800 WIDTH=1012 onLoad=resize_iframe();></IFRAME> Hello folks, I want to have a combobox with bookmark options. After you select a value from this combobox you can bookmark it with a push button. This should popup a bookmark dialog from the browser bookmark dialog. Can anybody help me? Lets say we have 3 options in the value's. Google, Yahoo, Bing When you select Google and you push Place bookmark you should get a browser bookmark dialog with a title "Google search site". The url would be just http://www.google.com/ I also want Yahoo with the url http://www.yahoo.com/ and the bookmark title Search at Yahoo! and Bing with the url http://www.bing.com and the title Search at Bing I'm looking already for a while for this. Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance! grid Several of the iPhone features can be duplicated with Javascript. One such feature I'd like to see is the Bookmark feature. You click on the Bookmark or Favorite button and the page name (of the html page) is saved to a list, just like what you see in modern browsers. Clicking on the list row brings up the bookmarked page. However, the app is not a browser, but made up of html/css/js pages that function from within a /www/ folder of the app. I've searched for such a script online, but the only ones I see are for desktop browsers (they permit a visitor to click on a link to place the page in the Bookmarks tab or folder of the browser). Does anyone know of a script that'll work on html pages in the iPhone and Android devices? Thanks! Steve I am not sure if this is the proper place to ask this or not or even what to ask for. I am very new to this and this is just for learning. The code is not mine. The code is just a blue table with a bookmark option. When I remove the javascript code for the bookmark the blue table disappears. Can anyone tell me why that happens? Code: <html> <body> <table width="95%" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#3399ff"> <tr bgcolor="#3399ff"> <td colspan="11" align="right" valign="middle" bgcolor="#3399ff"> <script language="javascript"> <!--blue area below tabs--> //This code is for IE v4 or better if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer" && navigator.appVersion >= "4.0") {document.write( "<SPAN class='bookmark' onClick='window.external.AddFavorite(location.href, document.title);'>*Bookmark this page*</SPAN>")} //This code posts text if not else {document.write("<span class='bookmark'>book mark this page</span>")} </script> </tr> </table> </body> </html> This is the code exactly how it was sent. I am trying to remove the bookmark option but keep the table the way it is. Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? Thank you very much Hello, I've searched high and low for some decent code that will allow a visitor to a website to bookmark the site through a hyperlink. The bookmarking is done through a javascript function that looks like this: Code: function OnBookmarkButtonClick (e) { if (window.sidebar) { // Mozilla Firefox Bookmark window.sidebar.addPanel("TimeSheet", window.document.location,""); } else if (window.external) { // IE Favorite window.external.AddFavorite( window.document.location, "TimeSheet"); } } I need to add some detection for Opera, Safari, and Chrome. Please note that it must be feature detection, not browser detection. But as I said, I've searched high and low for this, and couldn't find anything. Help is much appreciated. hi guys, i was wondering if anyone could help me. Ive been looking into the above and want to implement it on my site. I have created no flash pages and flash pages, but instead of creating a portal at the front of the site that leads you to a flash site and a no flash site id like to do it so the page detects flash or not, and redirects to whichever URL. Is this possible, or do multiple browsers cause problems ? cheers im trying to onclick function on the button but in firebug it will say, function not defined, i even tried to do it with a internal script, but still it will not work. please help Code: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="s/i.js"> </script> </head> <body> <button id="fihkhjsdk" onclick="ff();"> dsfh </button> <php code...> </body> </html> Here is a .js file to hack ie6,but it doesn't work when i put it out of the .html file.It can woking only in the .html file. It's fine in the .html file. Below: Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> sfHover =function() { var sfEls = document.getElementById("nav").getElementsByTagName("LI"); for (var i=0; i<sfEls.length; i++) { sfEls[i].onmouseover=function() { this.className+=" sfhover"; } sfEls[i].onmouseout=function() { this.className=this.className.replace(new RegExp(" sfhover\\b"), ""); } } } if (window.attachEvent) window.attachEvent("onload", sfHover); </script> </head> <body> ...... ...... </body> </html> It's not working if external .js file.below: Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="suckerfish.js"></script> note:I haven't added the <script type="text/javascript">...<script> code to the .js file. any help will be good. Hey guys just using a simple Notepad++ to make a HTML page I've been trying to get a video working but its not turning out exactly well. I get an empty video page that won't load my video file. I downloaded JW Player and uploaded the javascript and player.swf to my folder. Then the following codes. Please Teach ME ! ----------------------------------------------------------- <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jwplayer.js"></script> </head> <body> <div id="container">Loading the player ...</div> <script type="text/javascript"> jwplayer("container").setup({ flashplayer: "player.swf", file: "Flyff Introduction.flv", height: 270, width: 480 }); </script> </body> </html> I'm having trouble inserting two jquery scripts into the same HTML file. they both work independently, but when i try to use them both at the same time only one script will work.. I'm using a "slider gallery" and "ez background-resize". I've read a few articles that suggest using "var jQuery_1_2_6 = $.noConflict(true);" but i just can't seem to figure it out. Any one have any thoughts or suggestions? I'd really appreciate it. Code is below. Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <title>Total City Sports</title> <link href="css/screen.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <link href="css/styles.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="css/reset.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <style type="text/css"> </style> <!-- start slider gallery--> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/easySlider1.7.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#slider").easySlider({ auto: true, continuous: true, numeric: true }); }); </script> <!-- end slider gallery --> <!--start bg resize --> <script src="js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="js/jquery.ez-bg-resize.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function() { $("#body-background").ezBgResize(); }); $(window).bind("resize", function(){ $("#body-background").ezBgResize(); }); </script> <!-- end bg resize--> </head> Hey everyone, I have a page where I call two external javascript files, and they work perfectly when I have all the files on my desktop. But once I transferred all the files into a folder, the scripts stop working. What's going on?! EDIT: Nevermind. I just forgot to relocate my jquery file! Greetings, I designed a catalog browsing system for the college I work for, and I'm having a problem with one final thing, and it's going to drive me insane. The system uses individual PDF files for each page, and you can navigate using the controls on the side. It's not ideal, as it was made to replace a horrible system and has the limitations of the content being presented. That being said, I think it's pretty good. The trouble area is related to navigation: when you navigate the documents, some JavaScript detects the current URL of the content frame and updates the nav controls (previous and next page numbers) and table of contents links (bold, highlight) if they have changed. That part works fine. The problem area is with IE and PDF links. If you click a page link within the PDF, it opens that PDF file in the same frame. In FF and every other browser, the JS URL detection works fine. In IE, of course, it doesn't detect that a different PDF is being displayed. If it can't detect the new PDF file, and by extension, the file number, the nav controls don't work right. Now - before anyone asks - it DOES work in IE if you navigate to the PDF document by using the links in the navigation system that I built. It's just when you arrive at a PDF from another PDF that it fails. This is hard to explain more clearly, so take a look: http://www.aacc.edu/catalog/interactiveCatalog1011/ To see this in action, visit page 4, the table of contents. Click a page number link, for instance, page 9. Once it loads, click "next page" at the top left of the interface. In FF, it goes to page 10. In IE, it goes to page 5, since the JavaScript is unaware that the frame has changed PDF files. It doesn't make sense, since FF can see it plainly. My code is all out in the open. This thing has to be designed to run off of a CD as well as on the website. If I could use server-side scripting, it would be VERY different, I assure you. Any help with this would be phenomenal. I normally don't post for help, but I've searched practically all day, and I'm tired of running in to dead ends. Thanks so much! Jamie Hi guys, i m novice to javascript, i have a piece of code to preview the image after selecting it from file upload control, its working fine in Firefox, but its not working in IE,Chorome, what is the error please let me know, here is my code. function setImage(file) { if (document.all) document.getElementById("<%=prevImage.ClientID %>").src = file.value; else document.getElementById("<%=prevImage.ClientID %>").src = file.files.item(0).getAsDataURL(); if (document.getElementById("<%=prevImage.ClientID %>").src.length > 0) document.getElementById("<%=prevImage.ClientID %>").style.display = 'block'; } How to learn Flash Scripting
Hi all.. I have a modal window I'm working on, but the flash below it comes over the top of the modal window. I'm assuming it's a z-index issue. I'm using Tinybox2 for the modal window, and it's CSS styles use 800 and 900 for z-index. Code: .tbox {position:absolute; display:none; padding:14px 17px; z-index:900} .tinner {padding:15px; -moz-border-radius:5px; border-radius:5px; background:#fff url(images/preload.gif) no-repeat 50% 50%; border-right:1px solid #333; border-bottom:1px solid #333} .tmask {position:absolute; display:none; top:0px; left:0px; height:100%; width:100%; background:#000; z-index:800} .tclose {position:absolute; top:0px; right:0px; width:30px; height:30px; cursor:pointer; background:url(images/close.png) no-repeat} .tclose:hover {background-position:0 -30px} The flash itself isn't in a div but in a table. Is there a way to give it a lower z-index? Thanks in advance! carrie |
