JavaScript - Two Javascript: Rotating Banners, Both Work, But Not Together
I have two rotating banners on the same page. Both work independently on other pages but won't work together.
Is there a reason in JS for this and is there a common solution? Similar TutorialsHi, I'm hoping this is a simple question but I'm such a beginner I need some help! I recently found a great little code that allows me to have rotating ads with links on my website. It works perfectly but I need to have four images rotating, not three and I can't work out how to do it. Can anyone help? Thanks! Code: <html> <head> <title>Essex Mums Header</title> <script language="JavaScript"> if (document.images) { ads = new Array(3); ads[0] = "http://www.christmastoylist.co.uk/christmas1.jpg" ; ads[1] = "http://www.essexmums.org/images/derekanson.jpg"; ads[2] = "http://www.essexmums.org/images/littleones.jpg"; ads[3] = "http://www.essexmums.org/images/ingrave.jpg"; ads2 = new Array(3); ads2[0]="http://www.essexmums.org/images/letsplayfair1.jpg"; ads2[1]="http://www.essexmums.org/images/letsplayfair2.jpg"; ads2[2]="http://www.essexmums.org/images/letsplayfair3.jpg"; ads2[3]="http://www.essexmums.org/images/letsplayfair4.jpg"; } newplace = new Array(3); newplace[0] = "http://www.christmastoylist.co.uk/" newplace[1] = "http://www.derekanson.com" newplace[2] = "http://www.littleonesclothing.co.uk/" newplace[3] = "http://www.ingravecommunitymarket.blogspot.com/ otherplace = new Array(3); otherplace[0] = "http://www.letsplayfair.co.uk" otherplace[1] = "http://www.letsplayfair.co.uk" otherplace[2] = "http://www.letsplayfair.co.uk" otherplace[3] = "http://www.letsplayfair.co.uk" var timer = null var counter = 0 function banner() { timer=setTimeout("banner()", 8000); counter++; if (counter >= 3) counter = 0; document.bannerad.src = ads[counter]; document.bannerad2.src = ads2[counter]; } function left() { counter2 = counter; window.location.href = newplace[counter2]; } function right() { counter2 = counter; window.location.href = otherplace[counter2]; } </script> </head> <body style="margin: auto; width: 1024px; display: block; font-family: Myriad Web Pro;" onload="banner()"> <div> <table style="text-align: center; width: 1024px; height: 176px;" class="header" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tbody> <tr style="background-color: rgb(232, 248, 255);"> <td style="vertical-align: top; width: 200px; text-align: center;"> <div style="border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; margin: 20px 5px 5px; width: 190px; height: 160px;"><a href="javascript:left()" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://www.christmastoylist.co.uk/christmas1.jpg" name="bannerad" border="0" height="160" width="190"></a> </div> </td> <td style="vertical-align: top; width: 615px; height: 172px;"> <div style="margin-top: 20px;"><a href="http://www.essexmums.org"><img style="border: 0px solid ; width: 615px; height: 172px; margin-bottom: 20px;" alt="" src="http://www.essexmums.org/images/banner.jpg" hspace="5"></a></div> </td> <td style="vertical-align: top; width: 200px; text-align: center;"> <div style="border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; margin: 20px 5px 5px; width: 190px; height: 160px;"><a href="javascript:right()"><img src="http://www.essexmums.org/images/letsplayfair1.jpg" name="bannerad2" border="0" height="160" width="190"></a> </div> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> </body> </html> I had trouble posting this problem on the forum so a full description of the problem, all the code and the test is also posted on: http://happinesshabitS.com/testroto4.htm I am trying to install a rotating banner on http://HappinessHabit.com How do I position the banner so it is NOT at the upper left hand corner of the page? I have tried wrapping it in <div> tags but that hasn't worked. I can get it rotating fine on the test page, but cannot place the rotating banner where I need it - see: http://happinesshabitS.com The code I placed on the test page is: Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="jshdrotate-1.js" ></script> </head> and Code: </head> <body onLoad="preloadImgs();randomImages();"> <img src="rotoimage1/ri-image-01.jpg" name="rotator" width="800" height="135" border="0" id="rotator"></a> Can I place this right above the </body> tag? The code I placed in a separate (jshdrotate-1.js) file is on http://happinesshabits.com/javahelp.pdf and below: Code: function MM_preloadImages() { //v3.0 var d=document; if(d.images){ if(!d.MM_p) d.MM_p=new Array(); var i,j=d.MM_p.length,a=MM_preloadImages.arguments; for(i=0; i<a.length; i++) if (a[i].indexOf("#")!=0){ d.MM_p[j]=new Image; d.MM_p[j++].src=a[i];}} } function MM_swapImgRestore() { //v3.0 var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++) x.src=x.oSrc; } function MM_findObj(n, d) { //v4.01 var p,i,x; if(!d) d=document; if((p=n.indexOf("?"))>0&&parent.frames.length) { d=parent.frames[n.substring(p+1)].document; n=n.substring(0,p);} if(!(x=d[n])&&d.all) x=d.all[n]; for (i=0;!x&&i<d.forms.length;i++) x=d.forms[i][n]; for(i=0;!x&&d.layers&&i<d.layers.length;i++) x=MM_findObj(n,d.layers[i].document); if(!x && d.getElementById) x=d.getElementById(n); return x; } function MM_swapImage() { //v3.0 var i,j=0,x,a=MM_swapImage.arguments; document.MM_sr=new Array; for(i=0;i<(a.length-2);i+=3) if ((x=MM_findObj(a[i]))!=null){document.MM_sr[j++]=x; if(!x.oSrc) x.oSrc=x.src; x.src=a[i+2];} } // Comma separated list of images to rotate var imgs = new Array('rotoimage1/ri-image-01.jpg','rotoimage1/ri-image-02.jpg','rotoimage1/ri-image-03.jpg','rotoimage1/ri-image-04.jpg','rotoimage1/ri-image-05.jpg', 'rotoimage1/ri-image-06.jpg', 'rotoimage1/ri-image-07.jpg', 'rotoimage1/ri-image-08.jpg','rotoimage1/ri-image-09.jpg', 'rotoimage1/ri-image-10.jpg','rotoimage1/ri-image-11.jpg', 'rotoimage1/ri-image-12.jpg'); // delay in milliseconds between image swaps 1000 = 1 second var delay = 6000; var counter = 0; function preloadImgs(){ for(var i=0;i<imgs.length;i++){ MM_preloadImages(imgs[i]); } } function randomImages(){ if(counter == (imgs.length)){ counter = 0; } MM_swapImage('rotator', '', imgs[counter++]); setTimeout('randomImages()', delay); } Many thanks for your help ! I am really in the dark about this. Ok so i have wrote some code which can be seen he http://www.runningprofiles.com/members/include/test.php This works great but when i add the code to the page i want it on (include "include/test.php" for some reason the code does not work... the text is delayed and then lags behind the images.. this can been seen here http://www.runningprofiles.com/members/ I have no idea why its happening! I came up with the idea of making the links in the back of the circle (i've got a total of 10 links), invisible and put a globe in the middle (as background) - making it look like the links in the back go behind the globe and comes back from behind it again. I've tried to do this myself with .this.style.invisibility="hidden"; but... i lack skill to do it the right way i guess :P Does anyone know the solution? Here are examples of what they look like A: Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://site.com/script.js?92924"> </script> and B: Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://site.com/script2.js?99220"> </script> I need code to rotate these two so that only one of them is active at any one time. Ideally it would be great if I could set the percentage of time each is active. e.g use script A 80% of the time and B 20% of the time. Is this even possible? Thanks for any help at all. Does anyone know how to make URL links that use Javascript still work when users have Javascript disabled on their browser? The only reason I'm using JS on a URL is because my link opens a PDF file, and I'm forcing it not to cache so users have the latest version. I tried the <script><noscript> tags, but I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly, as my URL completely disappears. Below is my HTML/Javascript code: <p class="download"> <script type="text/javascript">document.write("<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"javascript:void(0);\" onclick=\"window.open( 'http://www.webchild.com.au/mediakit/Direct_Media_Kit_Web.pdf?nocache='+ Math.floor( Math.random()*11 ) );\" >The Child Magazines Media Kit</a></span> (PDF 1 MB) ");</script> <noscript><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://www.webchild.com.au/mediakit/Direct_Media_Kit_Web.pdf" >The Child Magazines Media Kit</a></span> (PDF 1 MB)</noscript> </p> Thanks for any help, Michael I write for ezinearticles, hubpages, bukisa etc. and obtained author widgets for my site. When placed in Sidebar, the w3c validator throws hundreds of errors, whereas if I place the same code in pages, it works flawlessly. Do I need some special code to put it in the sidebar? The code goes on something like this: Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ezinearticles.com/widget/inc/eawidget.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://ezinearticles.com/widget/widgetfetch.php?theme=100&cheader=bb2020&cborder=d0d0d0&cbackground=f1f1f1&ctopic=f1f1f1&ctopictext=000000&ch3=bb2020&cfooter=f1f1f1&cfootertext=000000&height=400&width=315&articles=3&authorid=My Name&bio=1"></script> Can someone help me out on this? Thanks Hey, everyone. I wrote a JavaScript for a forum based RPG. This is the first JavaScript that I ever wrote and I was surprised that it actually worked the way it was supposed to. The problem is that when I post it in a thread on the phpBB forum, the link that says "Jump!" doesn't do anything. When I save the code to Notepad and open on my browser, the link works fine. <html> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> function calculate() { var RACE, RAND=Math.floor(Math.random()*3); RACE = document.calcform.RACE.value; if (RACE == 1 && RAND != 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=2>Land</a>"); } if (RACE == 1 && RAND == 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=2>Secret Area 1</a>"); } if ((RACE == 2 || RACE == 3 || RACE == 4) && RAND != 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=3>Land</a>"); } if ((RACE == 2 || RACE == 3|| RACE == 4) && RAND == 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=3>Secret Area 2</a>"); } if ((RACE == 5 || RACE == 6) && RAND != 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=4>Land</a>"); }; if ((RACE == 5 || RACE == 6) && RAND == 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=4>Secret Area 3</a>"); }; if (RACE == 7 && RAND != 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=5>Land</a>"); }; if (RACE == 7 && RAND == 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=5>Secret Area 4</a>"); }; if (RACE == 8 && RAND != 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=6>Land</a>"); }; if (RACE == 8 && RAND == 0) {document.write("<a href=http://desertcolossus.com/adventures/viewforum.php?f=6>Secret Area 5</a>"); }; } </script> <form id="calcform" name="calcform"> <label for="RACE">RACE</label> <input type="text" size="3" id="RACE" name="RACE" /> <a href="javascript:calculate()">Jump!</a> </form> Enter the number associated with your character's race. 1 - Goron 2 - Sheikah 3 - Hylian 4 - Human 5 - Gerudo 6 - Zora 7 - Deku 8 - Fairy </body> </html> Hi, I have a javascript I created to compare the textbox value to the array and write something on the textbox but somehow it is giving me a syntax error. I am not good in javascript so I am really not sure which one is giving me problem. Can someone please help? Thanks. My logic is to check if my 18 textbox is not empty and if not then get the label of each textbox and compare to my array listed below. If the value of each label in the textbox exist, then write and equal word in the hidden textbox and if it doesn't exist, increment to the value of 1 to the textbox. Here is my javascript code: Code: function CalculateTotal(){ var homelessness = new Array (); homelessness[0] = "70250", homelessness[1] = "70260", homelessness[2] = "70750", ); var financial = new Array (); financial[0] = "96580", financial[1] = "96500", financial[2] = "96580", ); var emergency = new Array (); emergency[0] = "79660", emergency[1] = "80105", emergency[2] = "96020", ); for (i=3; i<18; i++) for (var k=3; k<18; k++) { if((amounts[i] != "") && (amounts[i] == desig[k])) { var issueId = impact.charAt(k); var impact_txt = document.getElementById(issueId).value; for ( var x = 0; x < homelessness.length; x++ ) { var myArray[ homelessness[ x ] ] = homelessness[ x ]; if ( myArray[impact_txt] == homelessness[] ) && (document.getElementById('impact1').value == "")) { document.getElementById('impact1').value = "Homelessness"; } } for ( var x = 0; x < financial.length; x++ ) { var myArray[ financial[ x ] ] = financial[ x ]; if ( myArray[impact_txt] == financial[] ) && (document.getElementById('impact2').value == "")) { document.getElementById('impact2').value = "Financial Stability and Independence"; } } for ( var x = 0; x < emergency.length; x++ ) { var myArray[ emergency[ x ] ] = emergency[ x ]; if ( myArray[impact_txt] == emergency[] ) && (document.getElementById('impact2').value == "")) { document.getElementById('impact3').value = "Emergency Crisis and Services"; } } } } } } //body code <table> <tr> <td style="width:380px;text-align:left"><label for="d" id="D" name="D" title="80104">Crime and Drug Use <a href="javascript:alert('');">what is this?</a></label></td> <td style="float:right"> $<input id="d" name="d" class="text" type="text" value="<?php safeEcho($form['d'])?>" style="width:90px;" onChange="CalculateTotal();" /> <?php helper_error('d');?> </td><td> <input name="impact1" id="impact1" type="text" value="" onclick="CalculateTotal();" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="width:380px;text-align:left"><label for="e" id="E" name="E" title="80101">Early Childhood Development <a href="javascript:alert('');">what is this?</a></label></td> <td style="float:right"> $<input id="e" name="e" class="text" type="text" value="<?php safeEcho($form['e'])?>" style="width:90px;" onChange="CalculateTotal()" /> <?php helper_error('e');?> </td><td> <input name="impact2" id="impact2" type="text" value="" onclick="CalculateTotal();" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="width:380px;text-align:left"><label for="f" id="F" name="F" title="80105">Emergency and Crisis Services <a href="javascript:alert('');">what is this?</a></label></td> <td style="float:right"> $<input id="f" name="f" class="text" type="text" value="<?php safeEcho($form['f'])?>" style="width:90px;" onChange="CalculateTotal()" /> <?php helper_error('f');?> </td><td> <input name="impact3" id="impact3" type="text" value="" onclick="CalculateTotal();" /> </td> </tr> Hope you can help me to make my javascript work. I also tried to replace var xmlhttp2 = ''; for var xmlhttp2 = null; but it still not work. Does anyone know what is incorrect? Thanks in advance, PHP Code: function get_image(url) { var xmlhttp2 = ''; xmlhttp2=GetXmlHttpObject() xmlhttp2.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp2.readyState == 4) { return 2; } }; xmlhttp2.open("GET", 'image_print.php?url=' + url, true); xmlhttp2.send(null); //return output; } Hi! I'm new to JavaScript and I've done some small adjustments to my clients site, but it won't show properly in IE (the shadowbox js at least.). I thought js was accepted in all newer browsers. Do you have a quick fix or idea on why it doesn't work? You can view source on my site, I use mootools, and shadowbox/corners and rightclick blocker. Is it generally a 'bad thing' to use js in webpages I want everyone to view in the same way? I tried the same effects with CSS but it's not supported in the same way corss-browser, unfortunately. The 'no selection' CSS class I have on the site is also not accepted in IE. It's very annoying! http://santinacrolla.ihaarr.com/p thank you in advance! ok this is all hyperthetical and ground work (phishing) for me so any and advice will be warmly welcomed. I would like to start and e-commerce site BUT: I'm sure i should use javascript on client side to validate an order form BUT 1) server side, how is the order revalidated --- ie is javascript used again on server or use of another language? 2) could someone explain how information from order form is connected to an (SQL) database ---- and how is that database then updated? What language is used? (I am talking about the general process here) At the momment i'm researching SQL http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/...ving-data.html and e-commerce database design http://www.princeton.edu/~rcurtis/ul...mdatabase.html but I have no idea how all this is connected and where Javascript finishes and where I need to research further in oreder to put things together. Any help would be fantastic sorry for the novice questions. low tech Hi Everyone, I have a strange problem that I can't resolve. Have a look at www.snaptease.co.uk/random.html and you will see a random image every time you refresh. Now look at www.snaptease.co.uk/random1.html and you won't see the image. The only difference is in the js/random.js and js/random1.js each file references. js/random.js uses the same html link to index.html js/random1.js links to individual html files that exist and valid. The working code looks like this: [CODE] images[0] = "<a href = 'index.html'><img src='images/games/aa01q.jpg' alt='album art' title='Do you recognise this album?'></a>";[CODE] The non working code looks like this: [CODE] images[0] = "<a href = 'answers/aa01.html'><img src='images/games/aa01q.jpg' alt='album art' title='Do you recognise this Album?'></a>";[CODE] Even if I enter the full url it makes no difference. Please tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it. I've been banging my head over this for a while now so I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance Martin Hello, I'm looking for an option for a rotating banner on a website. I'd like to have a banner that rotates per visit. I don't mean every time a person returns to a website. I mean person A comes to the site and banner A is displayed. Then person B comes to a site and another banner is displayed. Is this possible? Hi, I am trying to have an array of pictures rotating among them every 300 milliseconds. I am having a hard time to walk through the arrays to set new x and y values and rotate them to the new place. I think I have problems with my display code, where I should display the new position every time I call settimeout, exchanging the positions x and y from the array indexes position. There is my code: Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3c.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <title>hexagonal array</title> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var pixArray = Array(6); function shiftPix(element, count, index) { var pi = 3.1415926535; // left: x coordinate, top: y coordinate y = 300 + 150 * Math.cos(2 * pi * (count + index)/6); x = 300 + 150 * Math.sin(2 * pi * (count + index)/6); element.style.left = x + "px"; element.style.top = y + "px"; } function display() { for (j = 0; j < 6 ; j++) { setTimeout("shiftPix(" + x + ", " + y + ")", 300); counter++; shiftPix(pixArray[j], counter, j); } } // --> </script> </head> <body> <h3>Hexagonal Array </h3> <div id="John" style="position:absolute;left:300px;top:450px"> <img src="picture1.jpg" alt="John Santore" width="90" height="120" /> </div> <div id="Seikyung" style="position:absolute;left:430px;top:375px"> <img src="picture2.jpg" alt="Seikyung Jung" width="90" height="120" /> </div> <div id="Glenn" style="position:absolute;left:430px;top:225px"> <img src="picture3.jpg" alt="Glenn Pevlicek" width="90" height="120" /> </div> <div id="Lee" style="position:absolute;left:300px;top:150px"> <img src="picture4.jpg" alt="Lee Mondshein" width="90" height="120" /> </div> <div id="Abdul" style="position:absolute;left:170px;top:225px"> <img src="picture5.jpg" alt="Abdul Sattar" width="90" height="120" /> </div> <div id="Toby" style="position:absolute;left:170px;top:375px"> <img src="picture6.jpg" alt="Toby Lorenzen" width="90" height="120" /> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var counter = 0; pixArray[0] = document.getElementById("John"); pixArray[1] = document.getElementById("Seikyung"); pixArray[2] = document.getElementById("Glenn"); pixArray[3] = document.getElementById("Lee"); pixArray[4] = document.getElementById("Abdul"); pixArray[5] = document.getElementById("Toby"); display(); // --> </script> </body> </html> I use a rotating image script on my website currently, but I'm taking a JavaScript class and started playing around my script to see if I can get it to display two random images at once, but never the same. Here's my script: Code: <!-- var images = new Array("<a href='index.php'><img src='images/image.gif' alt=''></a>","<a href='home.php'><img src='images/image.gif' alt=''/></a>); index = Math.floor(Math.random() * images.length); document.write(images[index]); // --> Where does the index come from? And how do I interpret images[index] if I were to read it out loud? I thought I could add ++ to the end of images.length to get it to display at least two images, but nada. I'm still new at this and would really appreciate if someone could talk me through this? Thanks! Hi I am using the following code to create rotating banners. This all works when I fill in links to swf files on all 5 of my fields and then set a limit in the limit field. What I want to be able to do is have the ability to only have one banner field filled in with the rest blank but this breaks the page when the is nothing in the other 4 fields or have 2 filled in etc etc Code: <script> var maxFlashAdNo=100; adFlashNo= Math.round(Math.random() * maxFlashAdNo); var logolimit2="<%=requestItem.getFieldValue("iLogo2")%>"; var logolimit3="<%=requestItem.getFieldValue("iLogo3")%>"; var logolimit4="<%=requestItem.getFieldValue("iLogo4")%>"; var logolimit5="<%=requestItem.getFieldValue("iLogo5")%>"; var secflash=logolimit2; var thirdflash=logolimit3; var fourthflash=logolimit4; var fifthflash=logolimit5; //alert("2=" + secflash); //alert("3=" + thirdflash); //alert("4=" + fourthflash); //alert("5=" + fifthflash); //alert(adFlashNo); if(fifthflash>0&&adFlashNo>fifthflash){ document.write("<%=requestItem.getFieldValue("sLogo5").replaceAll("\"","'")%>"); }else if(fourthflash>0&&adFlashNo>fourthflash){ document.write("<%=requestItem.getFieldValue("sLogo4").replaceAll("\"","'")%>"); }else if(thirdflash>3&&adFlashNo>thirdflash){ document.write("<%=requestItem.getFieldValue("sLogo3").replaceAll("\"","'")%>"); }else if(secflash>2&&adFlashNo>secflash){ document.write("<%=requestItem.getFieldValue("sLogo2").replaceAll("\"","'")%>"); }else{ document.write("<%=requestItem.getFieldValue("sLogo").replaceAll("\"","'")%>"); } </script> Good evening. I'm trying to code a website that will read data from an Excel file (stored either locally or elsewhere) and input a row of data (searched based on a Drop-Down List) into a table on the web page itself. Every time I open the page (it's currently stored on my local drive, on a laptop running Windows 7) in IE8, though, I get the error "Automation Server Can't Create Object" and nothing happens. The Excel file doesn't get opened and the table is blank. Thing is, though, I tried opening the same web page on another computer with IE6 and Windows 2000, and the Script works perfectly there. I've been searching for a solution to this for a week, and some people suggested elsewhere that it's a problem with IE8's security settings. I lowered them as far as they'll go and enabled Running the Script Not Marked As Safe for all possible zones, same result, the Script refuses to run with the "Automation Server Can't Create Object" error. Here's the applicable lines of code: function loadData() { // try { var Excel, Book; var a = document.getElementById("projectDrop"); Excel2 = new ActiveXObject("Excel.Application"); <--- This is where the error seems to register Book2 = Excel2.Workbooks.Open("TestSheet.xls"); idTmr = window.setInterval("Cleanup();",1000); var sheet2 = Book2.Worksheets("Sheet1"); var b = document.getElementById('tableDisplay').getElementsByTagName('tr'); Excel2.Visible = false; var i=1; while(sheet2.Cells(i,1).Value != null) { if (sheet2.Cells(i,1).Value == a.options[a.selectedIndex].text) { b[0].cells[0].innerHTML = sheet2.Cells(i,1).Value; b[0].cells[1].innerHTML = sheet2.Cells(i,2).Value; b[0].cells[2].innerHTML = sheet2.Cells(i,3).Value; b[0].cells[3].innerHTML = sheet2.Cells(i,4).Value; } i++; } Excel2.Quit(); // } // catch(e) { // } } I'm completely stumped, everyone. Is it some obscure setting I'm forgetting to check in IE8, is my Java not fully updated, or what is it? Again, it works perfectly on my old Windows 2000 w/ IE6 computer, but not on a recent Windows 7 laptop with IE8. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you. Hi All. I am new to all this and I am posting a problem up here that I think is quite rare or has not been looked into for a long time now. I am basically looking to create a background for my website and when you refresh the page the image changes to another picture for the background. I have asked one of my good friends to have a look at it and he gave me some code to work with and so I have changed bits here and there and it worked in firefox and safari but will not work in IE. When I asked him he had no clue what to do. So here I am now! I am hoping it is simple but I also know it wont be to an extent! Any help would be much appreciated here. I have attached the code here for you and also the html file. Any help would be great with this. Thank you, Mark Alright, so I'm trying to get Javascript to work for me on my own website, and I can't even seem to get it to work when I test the files offline. I can take an example script from the internet, copy it, and put it on my computer. From then on, the script no longer works. I try uploading the file to my webhost, and it still won't work. It's not Browser Support because I'm using the same browser I used to view the example, which worked on the website it came from. There's no differences in the code I used, as opposed to the code they used. Javascript still won't work. Can anyone explain any reason why this is? Is there some kind of extra Java Support one would need on their webhost to make JS work? One of the websites I'm trying to get my script from is this: http://sixrevisions.com/tutorials/ja...cript_tooltip/ |
