JavaScript - Can't Hide Code, But How To Protect As Best As Possible?
I know it is impossible to protect js. Minify and obfuscation don't seem very effective.
But I ran across code like this, which could not be unobfuscated via simple methods. It appears to have non ascii characters (which I didn't know was possible). I would like to know how to create this same effect to help improve my protection. I realize it will not be highly secure, but something should be better than nothing. A portion of the .js: `XEnE)J:2\x00dzA\ EDIT: That doesn't work since the forum can only interpret ascii. But in the actual .js there are non ascii characters. What was done to achieve this? Similar TutorialsCan someone please suggest a good (and simple) code for password protecting one page on a site? I have a plan room for blueprints on my site. There will be multiple jobs at a given time and I need a page where we can give out a password to get the plans. Once the person logs in with user name and password for that day, he would then see file folders with the name of each job next to it. When he chooses a job, he clicks the folder to display a list of plans. If you can help with this or point me in a good direction, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help! Hello all, I am creating a blog and I thought it would be cool to have the Konami code in it. Basically, I would like is to either show or hide a div when the code is entered. So lets say the Div is hidden, they would enter the code and it would then show. If it was entered while the div was shown, it would then hide. Is there any way to do this? I think there would be, but I don't know how to accomplish it. Here's a link to the Konami code I'm using: Code: if ( window.addEventListener ) { var state = 0, konami = [38,38,40,40,37,39,37,39,66,65]; window.addEventListener("keydown", function(e) { if ( e.keyCode == konami[state] ) state++; else state = 0; if ( state == 10 ) window.location = "http://example.com"; }, true); } Thank you! Could anyone tell me what I've doing wrong, on first click it detects that the div is hidden and makes it visible, button on second click it does nothing: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html> <head> <link href="basic.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> function hideshow(id) { if (document.getElementById(id).style.visibility = "hidden") { document.getElementById(id).style.visibility = "visible"; } else { document.getElementById(id).style.visibility = "hidden"; } } </script> </head> <body> <div id="test" onclick="hideshow('test2')"> </div> <div id="test2" style="visibility:hidden"> </div> </body> </html> hello, I am trying to figure out how to hide the direction page in this code: I want to hide: www.ipage.com/mail/index.bml <INPUT TYPE="submit" NAME="Log In" VALUE="Check Mail" onclick="javascript:login.action='http://www.ipage.com/mail/index.bml?s=1';javascript:login.destination.value = '/mailadmin/index.bml?check=1';" > </TD> <TD> <INPUT TYPE="submit" NAME="Log In" VALUE="Manage Mail" onclick="javascript:login.action='https://secure.ipage.com/mailLogin';javascript:login.destination.value = '/mailadmin/index.bml?manage=1';"> any help is appreciated.... I work for a certain print and online publication. The one problem we have is other sites copying ad pasting our content to thier own websites or blogs. Wondering if theirs some way to allow a user to only to be able to copy/paste a certain character limit and then somehow add link to copied and pasted blurb? Maybe theirs a way to use javascript to command notepad to only allow a set number of characters.... Maybe theirs a service available or should be. hello, I have designed a web site. but I want to protect my external javascript(and css also) from outside people, who steal my javascript. can anyone tell me a method to hide external javascript(and css) from these knaves...!!! thank you Hey everybody. I have this code that disables right clicking on a page. It works fine, but I'd like to tweak it a little bit if possible. When trying to right click on a page, the script will pop up an alert message. If you try right clicking a second time, you receive an option to disable the alert message. I want to disable this option so that the alert pops up every single time, but I have no idea how to actually do this. Can anybody help me out? Thanks. Code: <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> var message="ALERT MESSAGE"; function click(e) { if (document.all) { if (event.button==1||event.button==2) { alert(message); return false; } } else { if (e.button==1||e.button==2) { e.preventDefault(); e.stopPropagation(); alert(message); return false; } } } if (document.all){ document.onmousedown=click; } else{ document.onclick=click; } </script> I kinda new to Javascript, and can get by with most of the basic bits and bods I need to do the day to day work on websites, but I've come across something that is causing me some issues, I could use some help. The situation is, we have a webpage with 2 divs on it, one div has a javascript calculator and the other div sows the calculations in 2 separate tabs, the calc works and the tabs work no worries, the tabs are done in jquery. The issue I've got is I need to hide the 2nd div with the tabs in until the user has done the calculation, I had this working no problem, until we switched to using jquery for the tabs, using a simple Code: window.onload = hide; function hide() { document.getElementByID('tabs').style.display = 'none'; } But now I don't know how or where to put this in the whole load of code for the jquery Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { //Default Action $(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all content $("ul.tab_header li:first").addClass("active").show(); //Activate first tab $(".tab_content:first").show(); //Show first tab content //On Click Event $("ul.tab_header li").click(function() { $("ul.tab_header li").removeClass("active"); //Remove any "active" class $(this).addClass("active"); //Add "active" class to selected tab $(".tab_content").hide(); //Hide all tab content var activeTab = $(this).find("a").attr("href"); //Find the rel attribute value to identify the active tab + content $(activeTab).fadeIn(); //Fade in the active content return false; }); }); </script> Can anyone give me any guidance at all?? Cheers Hey everybody, I have a script that hide a div like in a menu, bur the text of the div dont hide.... Code: <script> function aumenta(id) { target = document.getElementById(id); setInterval(function(){ new_size = target.style.height; new_size = new_size.split("px", 1); new_size -= 10; new_size = new_size + "px"; target.style.height = new_size; //target.style.width = new_size; },1); } </script> </head> <body > <div id="da" style="width:300px; height: 300px; background-color: #0066CC;" onmouseover="aumenta('da')">dDffffffffffffffffffdsdsd</div> </body> What part I have to fix in my code, for do what I want? Thanks! I don't know a lot about Javascript... still learning.. I am trying to create a show/hide effect that displays an image based on the users text input. I have coded this before for a list/menu and it works fine. With this particular project there are too many selections to choose from to put in a list/menu. I tried just using repeating if statements and only the last function on the list works. I have a <div> called "prodprice" which houses a dynamically loaded price {tag_saleprice}. When the price is $0.00, I want the <div> to be hidden. When the price is anything other than $0.00, I want it to be visible. I have no idea how to code it, but it seems like the general logic would be something like this: <div id="prodprice" style="display:none">{tag_saleprice}</div> document.getElementById('prodprice') If prodprice="$0.00" .style.display = "block"; Am I totally off base? I just have no idea what to do and I have an impatient client! Thank you so much. Hey guys, Is there a way of hiding a whole table row if a certain cell inside it is empty? Thanks, Adam |
