JavaScript - Selected Dropdownlist Item - Call/fetch Data
Hi All.
I have a dropdown list on a web form containing dates. My Question: How can I call data for that selected item(date) from a MySQL database and display it to the user? And more specifically, if that selected date has no data in the data base, I want to be able to display that as well. I'm looking for a Javascript solution, and if possible a php solution. Thank You! But I suppose this always changes the style of the selected item? It only needs to change when the option SLX is chosen... Anyone knows how to solve this problem? i have a dropdownlist with some values,ex: One, Two and Three; One being the default value selected on load of dropdown list. When I select Two or Three, there is onselectedchange event fired and I can write custom code in handler. But I also want to do some custom handling when page is loaded and user justs clicks on default value of "One". When Page1 body onloads it uses Ajax to call PartA Within PartA I have a message board so members can write messages which will be sent to my database in PartA[1] and immediately posted for view on to PartA[2]. As I want to have my request to the server updating regularly I want to have PartA[2] on a timed loop to refresh - I do not need the content of PartA[1] to refresh. So the order of events would look like this: Page1 | onload call | v PartA / \ V V PartA[1] PartA[2] (loads once) (constantly refreshes) What I am not sure about is that I have <body> and <head> attributes in Page1 only. I have already used my body onload to call PartA (and can't use it to call PartA[2] before PartA has loaded anyway). I do not want the user to have to click a button or do anything to call up PartA[2]. So my question is how would I get PartA[2] to automatically load within PartA?
