JavaScript - If A Particular Radio Is Selected Then On Submit Display Lightbox
When a particular radio option is selected and the user presses the submit button, based on what is selected I want a particular lightbox to popup [like an alert].
The JavaScript below is what I used to turn images I created into radio buttons so I could have my own custom styles instead of using the default DOM version. Any help is appreciated. However here is my question: I have a date field with 25 values (prepopulated Radio Buttons) where we are asking the members to select one day to volunteer. Once a member selects a day we would like to disable that Radio button value (Greyed out) for other members. So basically out of 25 available days we would like to disable values as soon as a member selects one. The field is on a classic ASP form with SQL Server backend. How can I accomplish the above? Please advice. Regards Vinny Hey everyone, I cant seem to get this submitForm Validator to work. It needs to see if one of the two radio buttons are selected. I just cant seem to get it to work, anyone know whats wrong? Thanks. I'm a graphics artist by trade but I also dabble in web design. I registered to this forum because I need your help. I've been handed a web project at work - to build an intranet site. My coding skills in HTML are sufficient to get the job done and I can plug in some JS and trobleshoot where needed but I've hit a wall with regard to one seemingly simple piece of code - I can't find a script anywhere that will generate a radio button that will, once selected, stay that way pretty much forever...or until I delete the listing on the page where these buttons will sit. I realize this isn't the concept behind these buttons but I need it to function this way because I'd like it to serve as a quick visual notification that a given employee review has been completed. These reviews will remain online for up to several months because there will be three reviews per employee over the course of that time. The selected buttons will indicate the reviews that are complete while the unselected ones will indicate which ones are still pending. I'd like the various levels of management viewing this information to know instantly, via the buttons, where we are with these reviews. So, that's my question, can a radio button be scripted to stay selected indefinitely once it's been clicked on? Thank you in advance for any help. It's greatly appreciated. - Sgt. Cheers, Ben! I'm making a javascript game for a digital media class and I'm having a hard time figuring out how to code this. The idea is that there's three similar images, one that's different and the user must select the image that's different by selecting the radio button below it and pressing the Submit button. So in the if/else statement, I want it to be programmed so that if the correct answer is selected and then submitted, it will take you to another webpage. If an incorrect answer is selected, I want an alert to pop up and say Sorry, that's Incorrect. Here's the coding I have so far, none of which is working. Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function processAnswer() { for (i = 0; i <= 3; i++) { if (document.myForm.radSize[i].checked == true) { size = document.myForm.radSize[i].value; } // end if } // end for loop alert("You Selected a Button") } // end </script> And in the body... <div id="imagediv"><br /><br /><center> <form name = "myForm" action=""> <table width="500" border="0"> <tr> <td><center><img src="images/image2.png" /><br /> <Input type = radio Name = r1 Value = "1" > </center> </td> <td><center><img src="images/image1.png" /><br /> <Input type = radio Name = r1 Value = "2" > </center> </td> <td><center><img src="images/image2.png" /><br /> <Input type = radio Name = r1 Value = "3" > </center></td> </tr> </table><br /><br /> <center><input type = "button" value = "Submit" onClick = "processAnswer()"/> </center> Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've never worked with javascript before so I'm having a really hard time! Hello all, I have 2 radio buttons update bsc value update mnr value when user selects update mnr value, two more radio buttons should appear. I have mnr value I do not have mnr value. On selecing I do not have mnr value im submitting the form and enabling the user to select values from dropdown. ( not shown in the code as it is a coldfusion code.). On submit I am not able to still keep the 'but2', and 'my_select3' elements disabled. Please advice. I have been working on this since quite sometime. <script language="JavaScript"> function makeChoice() { var obj1 = document.getElementById('box1') var obj2 = document.getElementById('box2') if (document.getElementById('but1').checked) { obj2.setAttribute('readOnly','readonly'); obj1.removeAttribute('readOnly'); document.getElementById('but1').disabled=true; document.getElementById('but2').disabled=true; } else if (document.getElementById('but2').checked) { obj1.setAttribute('readOnly','readonly'); obj2.removeAttribute('readOnly'); document.getElementById('but2').disabled=true; document.getElementById('but1').disabled=true; } } </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function showSelect() { if (document.getElementById('but2').checked) { document.getElementById('but2').disabled=true; } } </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function showSelect1() { if (document.getElementById('but2').checked) { document.myform.submit(); document.getElementById('but2').disabled=true document.getElementById('my_select3').disabled=true } } </script> <td><input type="radio" id="but1" name="vals" onclick="makeChoice()"></td> <td>Update BSC Value </td> <tr> <td><input type="radio" id="but2" name="vals" onclick="makeChoice();showSelect();" ></td> <td>Update MNR Value </td> <td> <input id="my_select1" class="show" type="radio" name="my_select1" onclick="this.myform['my_select1'].disabled=true"></td> <td> I have a Position Number </td> <td><input id="my_select3" class="show" type="radio" name="my_select3" onclick="showSelect1();"></td> <td> I do not have a Position Number </td> I'm not that familiar with classic ASP or Javascript but need to change an exisiting program to do the following: Add a link to a page but only for certain marketers. I have a classic ASP page that has a couple of hyperlinks for each marketer that is selected from a combobox drop down. The new hyperlink is to be added but only for select marketers. The rest don't even get to see this new hyperlink. I added a function in Javascript as such: Code: function IsPikeESCO(UID,UCD) { var strTemp; var mktrno, mktname; var frm; var IsPike; IsPike = false; frm = document.Downloads; strTemp=frm.MKTRACCT.options[frm.MKTRACCT.selectedIndex].text; mktrno=strTemp.substring(0,10); switch (mktrno) { case 8: IsPike = True; break; case 99: IsPike = True; break; case 162: IsPike = True; break; } return IsPike; } Now I need to check if True then display the hyperlink, so I came up with this, which I know is not correct: Code: <tr><td></td><td <%IF <a HREF="javascript:IsPikeESCO('<%response.write request("passUID")%>','<%response.write request("passUCD")%>')" = True THEN%> onMouseOver="/orradata/pike.DAT">Pike Data</font></a> <%END IF%> I want to be able to check the fuction for each marketer and if return is TRUE, then produce the hyperlink which will open a data file if clicked. Can someone help? I'm not sure how to use the <%IF statement in conjunction with a javascript function that checks for a return value, and based on that return value, does some action. I would like to display one of two different <div> tags based on a radio button. In essence, this would be the "basic" and "advanced" options as the user end. Can this be done easily or will it be complex? Another task please...I need to display the appropriate div when a radio button is selected... PHP Code: <body> <script type="text/javascript"> function checkjob(jobvalue){ if(jobvalue="type") { document.getElementById("type").style.display = "block"; }else if(jobvalue="select"){ document.getElementById("select").style.display = "block"; }else if(jobvalue="tag"){ document.getElementById("tag").style.display = "block"; } } </script><br /> <table width="200"> <tr> <td><label> <input type="radio" name="cat" value="type" id="cat_0" onchange="checkjob(this.value)" /> type</label></td><td><label> <input type="radio" name="cat" value="select" id="cat_1" onchange="checkjob(this.value)" /> select</label></td> <td><label> <input type="radio" name="cat" value="tag" id="cat_2" onchange="checkjob(this.value)" /> tag</label></td> </tr> </table> <div id="type" style="display:none"><input name="contact" type="text" /></div> <div id="tag" style="display:none">tag:<input name="contact" type="text" /></div> <div id="select" style="display:none"><select name=""> <option value="a" selected="selected">option 1</option> <option value="b">option 2</option> </select></div> </body> I need a script that will allow a user to select a vertical selection and Horizontal selection that displays a corresponding image. There are only 8 combinations (4 vertical choices and 2 horizontal choices) I just need to display the correct image and a description. There has to be only one of each selected and only display one image. I have tried several and have had no luck. Any ideas? Here is how the layout will look hello im attempting to display the output of the radio selection into the textbox. For example, if the user selects 0-15 then display "Your age group is 0-15 years" in the text area. i get the basic logic. i just dont understand how to display the value in the textbox. heres what i have so far if it will clarify my issue. Code: <html> <head> <title>lab 8</title> <script language="javascript"> function textbox() { var i; for(i = 0; i < form1.agegroup.length; i++) { if (form1.agegroup[i].checked) alert("you picked " + form1.agegroup[i].value); } } </script> </head> <body> What is your age group?<br> <form name="form1"> <input type="radio" name="agegroup" value="0-15" checked>0-15<br> <input type="radio" name="agegroup" value="16 to 20">16 to 20<br> <input type="radio" name="agegroup" value="21 to 25">21 to 25<br> <input type="radio" name="agegroup" value="26 to 35">26 to 3<br> <input type="radio" name="agegroup" value="36 and up">36 and up<br> <input type="button" value="submit" onclick="textbox();"> <form name="form2"><textarea rows ="2"> </textarea> </body> </html> btw i know the alert part is wrong. its there because im taking the code i previously had and changing it to display in a textbox instead of an alert. thanks |
