JavaScript - How Do I Run A Js Function On Enter?
Hello everyone,
I got this cool javascript for an all-in-one search engine at javascriptkit.com: http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/cut130.shtml I can already execute the script by clicking on the submit button, but I also want to execute the script by pressing the enter key within the text area. I have an editable <div>: <div class='edit' id='divContent' name='divContent' ContentEditable>some text</div> If I press 'enter' two lines are skipped. I know that if I press 'shift+enter' only one line will be skipped. If I check the unformatted code of the contenteditable div, 'enter' gives me <p> and 'shift+enter' gives me <br>, which makes sense because <p> is formatted differently than <br>. So I want to change 'enter' into 'shift+enter' I have already found something to capture and kill 'return' function killReturn() { key = event.keyCode; if (key == 13) return false; } But now for some means to replace the killed 'enter' with 'shift+enter'? Good day! I created a login page and I have the username which is a textbox type, department and i use option and a submit button.. How can i get it to also clear on a user hitting enter? Hi all, just before i kick off im not looking for the code just a push in the right direction. I have an input box and I want it to function so that when the user presses the enter/return key, it runs a js function. I have the following code: Code: input.onkeydown = function () {

Need help with my text box. I want to make it so if i have several text boxes only one number can be entered once. So if i type the number 15 in the first text box and type 15 in the second text box an error will occur saying you cant enter the same number twice. Any idea how to do this? Code:

Thanks Hi I have a form setup so that when you enter something in a text field and click a button it checks to see if the value entered in the text field is the "correct" letter and if its right it changes the CSS property of a div container to be shown which then has a link to a the next question. So I don't really have a submit button because my form isn't setup to work with one. This is fine by me but the only problem is when you enter a letter and click enter it acts as a submit and the submit does nothing, which is what it's suppose to do. So what I'm asking is how can I get that button to respond to an enter instead of the default submit taking over the enter key? |
