JavaScript - Handle Same Check Box At Multiple Places
Hi ,
I am very new to HTML,CSS,Javascript coding. I have to add some check box in the page and there are multiple tabs in the same single page. If I select or deselect any check box, checkbox checks from all the places should be changed. Can anybody tell me how to do so using HTML,CSS, Javascript? Similar TutorialsHello people, I got a problem. This is the code for hiding en showing informatie in an acordion. It looks fine and it works! But it only handles one div! The main thing i want is that when i click on the text "button" the next div, with all the span's within it, has to slide under. Example: HTML: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <title>Accordion 1</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $(".accordion h3:first").addClass("active"); $(".accordion div:not(:first)").hide(); $(".accordion div").hide(); $(".accordion p").hide(); $(".accordion h3").click(function(){ $(this).next("div").slideToggle("slow").siblings("div:visible").slideUp("slow"); $(this).toggleClass("active"); $(this).siblings("h3").removeClass("active"); $(".accordion p").show(); $(".accordion .button").show(); }); }); </script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" type="text/css"/> </head> <body> <div class="accordion"> <h3>Title</h3> <div class="test"> <p>subtext</p> <div class="button"> <a href="" title="">Button</a> </div> </div> <div> <span style="display:block; height: 20px; width: 220px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: -5px;"><input type="radio" checked="checked" value="" name="" id="" /><label for="">test</label></span> <span style="display:block; height: 20px; width: 220px; margin-top: 0px; margin-left: -5px; margin-bottom: 20px;"><input type="radio" value="" name="" id="" /><label for="">test</label></span> <span style="font-weight:bold;">Vanaf<input type="text" style="width: 20px; height: 15px;" class="" value="1" readonly=""></input>-<input type="text" style="width: 20px; height: 15px;" class="" value="" readonly=""></input>-<input type="text" style="width: 40px; height: 15px;" class="" value="1" readonly=""></input> change to <input type="text" style="width: 20px; height: 10px;" class="" value="" readonly=""></input>%</span> <span style="display:block; text-align: right; text-decoration:underline; font-weight:bold; color: red;">count</span> </div> </div> </body> </html> CSS: Code: body { margin: 10px auto; width: 570px; font: 75%/120% Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } .accordion { width: 480px; border-bottom: solid 1px #c4c4c4; } .accordion h3 { background: #004584; padding: 7px 15px; margin: 0; font: bold 120%/100% Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; border: solid 1px #c4c4c4; border-bottom: none; cursor: pointer; color: #FFFFFF; } .accordion h3:hover { background-color: #00AEE7; } .accordion h3.active { background-position: right 5px; } .accordion .test { background: #DFF7FF; margin: 0; padding: 10px 15px 20px; border-left: solid 1px #c4c4c4; border-right: solid 1px #c4c4c4; } .accordion .extra { background: #DFF7FF; margin: 0; padding: 10px 15px 20px; border-left: solid 1px #c4c4c4; border-right: solid 1px #c4c4c4; } Hi chaps, Ive got a project and ive been steaming ahead with it myself for a bit, i was given the code to start off with but have adapted it for my own needs. As well as fieldOne being a minimum of 3 characters I also need to check if the first three characters are the same because we get a lot of spam. Thanks in advance Code: function showResults(results) { var fieldOne = document.getElementById('edtName').value; var minLength = 3; if (!results.Status.Success) { //alert(results.Status.ErrorMessage); window.location = "There has been an error. Please try again." } else if ( results.Result && fieldOne.length > minLength ) { document.forms[0].action = 'getmoreinfo.php'; } else if ( results.Result && fieldOne.length < minLength ) { document.forms[0].action = 'getlost.php'; } else { document.forms[0].action = 'getafreeguide.php'; } document.forms[0].submit(); } Hi all, I have to check for several possible values of a variable and I currently do it like so: Code: (SHIP_TYPE == "M" || SHIP_TYPE == "S" || SHIP_TYPE == "X") But this seems overly manual to me. I'm imagining something like the SQL "IN" function: Code: SHIP_TYPE IN ('M','S','X') Does such a thing exist in JavaScript, or do I need to write my own function? Hi, I am using a tooltip that uses the following javascript Code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { //Tooltips $(".tip_trigger").hover(function(){ tip = $(this).find('.tip'); tip.show(); //Show tooltip }, function() { tip.hide(); //Hide tooltip }).mousemove(function(e) { var mousex = e.pageX - 90; //Get X coodrinates var mousey = e.pageY - 400; //Get Y coordinates var tipWidth = tip.width(); //Find width of tooltip var tipHeight = tip.height(); //Find height of tooltip //Distance of element from the right edge of viewport var tipVisX = $(window).width() - (mousex + tipWidth); //Distance of element from the bottom of viewport var tipVisY = $(window).height() - (mousey + tipHeight); if ( tipVisX < 90 ) { //If tooltip exceeds the X coordinate of viewport mousex = e.pageX - tipWidth - 90; } if ( tipVisY < 90 ) { //If tooltip exceeds the Y coordinate of viewport mousey = e.pageY - tipHeight - 90; } //Absolute position the tooltip according to mouse position tip.css({ top: mousey, left: mousex }); }); }); </script> As you can see I have set its X position at -90 and y position at -400 so that It could be displaying well when the mouse is hover over a link and it do appear well in the testing page http://bloghutsbeta.blogspot.com/201...slidernav.html If you put your mouse over ALEX in 'A' category BUT from the same test site but in different location from above here http://bloghutsbeta.blogspot.com/201...ting-main.html if you put your mouse over ALEX under 'SIMULATION' category then you will see that the tooltip is way down. Not even that the tooltip moves away if the screen resolution changes. I changed value again and again but didn't reach any conclusion, can someone help me with this issue as what to do to fix it? Note: If you require a complete markup please let me know in comment, I considered it not required that's why I didn't added it to my post ^^ Hi, Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong. Script works on the first attachment but not the other two? Code: <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"><!-- function ExtensionsOkay() { var extension = new Array(); var fieldvalue = new Array(); fieldvalue[0] = document.customApp.attachment_1.value; fieldvalue[1] = document.customApp.attachment_2.value; fieldvalue[2] = document.customApp.attachment_3.value; extension[0] = ".doc"; extension[1] = ".docx"; extension[2] = ".txt"; extension[3] = ".pdf"; // No other customization needed. for(var f = 0; f < fieldvalue.length; f++) { var thisext = fieldvalue[f].substr(fieldvalue[f].lastIndexOf('.')); for(var i = 0; i < extension.length; i++) { if(thisext == extension[i]) { return true; } } alert("Your upload field " + f + " contains an unapproved file name."); return false; } } //--></script> Hi.. I have javascript code with computation, but I have problem in my result because it was not round off or fixed into two decimal places only. here is my code: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function test_(cmpd) { var len_ = (document.frmMain.elements.length) - 1; for (i=0; i <= len_; i++ ) { var strPos_ = document.frmMain.elements[i].id.indexOf(cmpd) if (strPos_ != -1) { var strPos = document.frmMain.elements[i].id.indexOf("_"); var strId = document.frmMain.elements[i].id.slice(strPos + 1) + "_" + document.frmMain.elements[i].id.slice(0,strPos) // this is the computation that I need to fixed the result into two decimal places document.frmMain.elements[i].value = document.getElementById(strId).value * document.getElementById('mult').value; } } } </script> Thank you so much Hi this is on my midterm review and I got the program down easily but I just wanted to know if there was an easy way of shortening down the answer to only 2 decimal places.possibly through division? Code: import java.util.*; public class StockSale { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in); double stockSale; // represent the stock sale price double commission; System.out.print("Please enter a the stock value price: "); stockSale = input.nextDouble(); if(stockSale < 100.00) commission = 20.00; else if (stockSale <= 999.99) commission = (20.00 + ((stockSale - 99.99)*.01)); else if (stockSale <= 9999.99) commission = (30.00 + ((stockSale - 999.99)*.005)); else if (stockSale <= 99999.99) commission = (75.00 + (( stockSale - 9999.99)*.0025)); else commission = ( 150.00 + ((stockSale - 99999.99)*.0015)); System.out.print("The commission on this stock sale is $" + commission ); } } i appreciate any help given thanks I've managed to gain decent knowledge of HTML and CSS and am now looking into Javascript, I have been following the "beginner JavaScript tutorials" that TheNewBoston does on youtube, is this the best source or would you advise using http://www.w3schools.com/??? Any other websites? Thanks Hey everyone. I am looking to enforce the use of 3 decimal places in an input. I have found some scripts that do this, however, I also want to format it this way in case someone enters LESS than 3 decimal places. If a user enters 1.25, I want it formatted as 1.250 If a user enters 1 I want it formatted as 1.000 etc. Possible? Not sure where to start. I'm fairly new to programming, I just started JavaScript and I did read the rules. I am a student and will not post my code asking someone to do my homework. I just need a little guidance. For my assignment, when a webpage is loaded, it prompts the user to enter hours worked, their pay rate and tax rate, then use a function to calculate the net weekly pay, then display all numbers on the screen. Now I have this working and it appears on the screen, but I need to limit the hours worked to a whole number and the pay and tax rates need to only show 2 digits on either side of the decimal. From searching I found a lot of information about ParceInt, ParceFloat and toFixed, but cannot get these to work. Either these are not correct or I'm not using them correctly. Below are samples of 2 of the prompts. Can someone help me with this problem? Also is it better the handle this problem at the prompt or in the function or where it writes to the screen? Code: var hours_worked = prompt ("How many hours did you work?", ""); parseInt(hours_worked); var pay_rate = prompt ("What is your pay rate?", ""); parseFloat(pay_rate); Hopefully the subject was good enough and the content descriptive to understand when I'm trying to accomplish. Brian Hi, I'm really new to Javascript. Recently in my IT class, we made a HTML page which would open a popup box, where the user could enter a key word. When the user pressed enter, the page would navigate to a specific page. The code we used was: Code: <script language = "JavaScript"> where = window.prompt ("Please tell me where you would like to go."); switch (where){ case "Digg" : window.location = "http://www.digg.com" ; break; default: window.location = "http://www.google.com" ; } </script> What I am hopeing to do, is implement this code on my workplaces server, and have the keywords link to other html documents within the server. However when I tested this, for some reason the links are not working. Can this actually be done? Am I missing something silly? Are there any other ways of doing this? Thanks in advance I need to interact with application in a way that is being used by mouse and some keyboard clicking like save a text file to a desired location with a desired name by the java script file. Can you give me some information how to do that, and where to get information for that?
I'm not sure what this is called to google it, ok so i have 3 divs Code: <div id="div1"></div> <div id="div2"></div> <div id="div3"></div> Now say my page is 800x600 So when the page loads #div1 and #div3 height = 390px and #div2 height = 20px; What i want is when #div2 is draged it resized #div1 and #div3 E.G (#div2 is draged up so top = -100px) so when that happens i want #div1 = 290px and #div3 = 490px And vice versa now this is the code i have for my site So #div1 = ".torrents-list" #div2 = "#dragBar" #div3 = "#torrent_info" PHP Code: $("#dragBar").draggable({ axis: 'y', drag: function(event, ui){ var heightString= $("#dragBar").css("top"); var height = parseInt(heightString.replace("px", "")); $("#dragBar").css("top", "0px"); $(".torrent-list").height($(".torrent-list").height() + heightString); $("#torrent_info").height($("#torrent_info").height() - heightString); } }); But this dose not work for me its never setting #dragBar top to 0px and not resizing any thing if some one can tell me what this is called so i can google for a prebuilt one if not help me write one please? Dear friends, My Function code is: [code] <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> //function to create the printer and take variable from button pressed by user function RunEXE(prn) { var oShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell"); oShell.Run ("%comspec% /k c:\windows\system32\rundll32 PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /in /n "+prn+"",2,true); } </script> the variable is passed properly to the function with spaces using below form button. But, the command in the function doesnot execute after the space, that is printer name is taken as "5E-" only. How do i pass prn variable with additional double quotes, so that command in function takes it in full including spaces. thanks so much. Hello all, I have a requirement where i need to take an IPv4 address as an input, my web page has 4 text boxes. If i have a address like this 255.255.255.255, my program jumps into the next text box without any problem as soon as i enter the 3 digits. i dont need to press any tab or any other key to go to next text box. In case of an address like 12.24.12.3, i have to press <tab> to jump into the next text box, My project requirement says that it should work with '.' (dot) char as well. SO here is my actual requirement i need to jump into the next text box as soon as user enters a dot (.) char without displaying the dot into the text box. I am writing this program in perl CGI. Thanks, Vaibhav Hi to all, I have a dynamic form, when a button is clicked 3 more fields appear, the function is to colect for example from date [02/02/2010] to date [10/02/2010] equals price [250$] per week and if you want another period just click the button and 3 more fields appear. How do I get all this data to PHP? Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var counter = 3; function addNew() { // Get the main Div in which all the other divs will be added var mainContainer = document.getElementById('mainContainer'); // Create a new div for holding text and button input elements var newDiv = document.createElement('div'); // Create a new text input var newText = document.createElement('input'); newText.type = "text"; newText.value = "DD/MM/AAAA"; newText.name = counter++; var newText1 = document.createElement('input'); newText1.type = "text"; newText1.value = "DD/MM/AAAA"; newText1.name = counter++; var newText2 = document.createElement('input'); newText2.type = "text"; newText2.value = "0"; newText2.name = counter++; // Create a new button input var newDelButton = document.createElement('input'); newDelButton.type = "button"; newDelButton.value = "Delete"; // Append new text input to the newDiv newDiv.appendChild(newText); newDiv.appendChild(newText1); newDiv.appendChild(newText2); // Append new button input to the newDiv newDiv.appendChild(newDelButton); // Append newDiv input to the mainContainer div mainContainer.appendChild(newDiv); counter++; // Add a handler to button for deleting the newDiv from the mainContainer newDelButton.onclick = function() { mainContainer.removeChild(newDiv); } } </script> <table style="margin-left:200px" border="0"> <tr><!-- Row 1 --> <td width="140"><b>Start Date</b></td><!-- Col 1 --> <td width="142"><b>End Date</b></td><!-- Col 2 --> <td width="140"><b>Price per week</b></td><!-- Col 3 --> </tr> </table> <div style="margin-left:200px" id="mainContainer"><div><input value="DD/MM/AAAA" name="0" type="text" ><input value="DD/MM/AAAA" name="1" type="text" ><input value="0" name="2" type="text" ><input type="button" value="New price" onClick="addNew()"></div> On this webpage http://www.corkdiscos.com/testimonials.html i have a like button. when a user clicks like a comment box appears. when i unlike the button the comment box disappears this is ok but when a user has already liked the facebook page and comes to my webpage the comment box does not show. so im looking for a piece of javascript to check if a user has like the button on my page and if so to show the comment box. please check my source code of the website http://www.corkdiscos.com/testimonials.html to see what i have so far. any help would be greatly appreciated |
