JavaScript - Can Javascript Toggle A Submit Button?
Is it possible for JavaSscript to toggle a submit button?
I will be using it in this code: Code: <SCRIPT type="text/javascript"> if (document.forms["form"]["quantitys"].value > '.$row['quantity'].') { alert ("The quantity you wanted for product '.$row['id'].' is no longer available and will be changed to the highest available quantity."); document.forms["form"]["quantity"].value = '.$row['quantity'].'; // JAVASCRIPT TOGGLE SUBMIT } </SCRIPT> The submit button: <INPUT name="submit" type="submit" value="UPDATE QUANTITY"> Similar TutorialsHello, First, thank you to anyone that can help. Basically I am trying to create a Cascade Dropdown with a submit button, that once clicked, takes them to a URL depending on the choices they made in the cascade dropdown. I have the cascade dropdown working properly but do not know how to create a submit button that says, "If Cookeville = Cosmetology; then go to this URL." Any ideas or suggestions? I will need to create this type of conditional statement for each choice. My code so far is below. Thank you again in advanced. Code: <form id="locations"> <label for="categories">categories: </label> <select name="categories" id="categories"> <option value="1">Cookeville, TN</option> <option value="2">Lebanon, TN</option> <option value="2">Dalton Beauty School</option> <option value="2">Daphnie</option> </select> <label for="items">items: </label> <select name="items" id="items" type="submit"> <option class="2" value="0">Cosmetology</option> <option class="2" value="1">Cosmetology Instructor</option> <option class="2" value="2">Instructor Trainee</option> <option class="1" value="3">Cosmetology</option> <option class="1" value="4">Cosmetology Instructor</option> <option class="1" value="5">Esthetician</option> <option class="1" value="6">Instructor Trainee</option> <option class="1" value="7">Nail Technology</option> </select></form> <script type="text/javascript"> //Applies cascading behavior for the specified dropdowns function applyCascadingDropdown(sourceId, targetId) { var source = document.getElementById(sourceId); var target = document.getElementById(targetId); if (source && target) { source.onchange = function() { displayOptionItemsByClass(target, source.value); } displayOptionItemsByClass(target, source.value); } } //Displays a subset of a dropdown's options function displayOptionItemsByClass(selectElement, className) { if (!selectElement.backup) { selectElement.backup = selectElement.cloneNode(true); } var options = selectElement.getElementsByTagName("option"); for(var i=0, length=options.length; i<length; i++) { selectElement.removeChild(options[0]); } var options = selectElement.backup.getElementsByTagName("option"); for(var i=0, length=options.length; i<length; i++) { if (options[i].className==className) selectElement.appendChild(options[i].cloneNode(true)); } } //Binds dropdowns function applyCascadingDropdowns() { applyCascadingDropdown("categories", "items"); //We could even bind items to another dropdown //applyCascadingDropdown("items", "foo"); } //execute when the page is ready window.onload=applyCascadingDropdowns; </script> I have a simple js script which toggles between 2 tabs using a simple switch function to display: block or none. In each tab I have a form which returns data from a db using php mysql. The problem is that when I click the submit button the page is reloaded and so the page reverts to showing the 1st tab. The data is returned correctly but the users has to click the 2nd tab to view it. I have tried adding on onclick event to the submit button but this doesn't work. Is it possible to force the 2nd tab to show if the submit button in the 2nd tab is clicked. Many thanks! Hello all I created a form which has a lot of textboxes, checkboxes and select-lists which are getting filled up by the records from a database table. I am basically creating an edit screen for a record. No I want to check all these input elements using javascript validation. I want this to performed when a button "Archive" is pressed. My problem is this "Archive button" needs to be a submit button. This does run the javascript validation but after completing the validation it submits the form. I want that submission should be stopped when the validation is violated. how can I do this? What I want is a button which acts as a default button (triggers the onclick event when I press enter) but submits only if the form is valid. Hey, In the quiz function the form that is generated all compiles correctly, but the submit button only causes the page to refresh. What am I doing wrong? Hi, Hit a snag creating code for toggling with radio buttons, alert debugs return undefined for the radio button values. Would someone assist? HTML <in Code: <input type="button" value="change layout" onclick="toggle()" /> JavaScript Code: var flag = 0; function toggle(){ if(flag==0){ document.getElementById("container").style.backgroundImage="blah.jpg"; flag=1; } else if(flag==1){ document.getElementById("container").style.backgroundImage="blah2.jpg"; flag=0; } } I have a script that will slide a div up from the bottom of the page. The toggle button for this div however is going to be right on top of the sliding div. But, when the button is pressed and the div starts to slide down, the script hides the button. Here's an example... http://www.codekraken.com/dashpad/testing/test2.html How can I get the toggle button to slide with it, but not disappear? Hi Complete novice with Java so need some help please! I want to put a button on a website that when clicked changes the background. The button needs to be an image. For example, click on the image and it makes the background image1 and then click again to switch to background image2. The image/button that is being clicked will be 2 images (one says "turn lights on" then when clicked shows other image "turn lights off") I have managed to pick up bits of code from the net that change the background and got another code that makes 2 images a toggle button. The button changes the background on the first click but no back again on the second click. I guess it needs an if/else statement but not sure. Thanks for any help!!!! I am a beginner with coding and have no idea what I'm doing. Hopefully I'm posting this on the right forum. I have just registered a domain for my business and am maintaining my webpage through tumblr. I have stumbled around into finding a code that will allow me to hide/collapse certain content. The problem is that I want it to become an icon that changes from a "plus" to a "minus" sign, or any one character to another, as opposed to having it be the title that gets clicked on in order to be expanded. One major issue I'm having revolves around content expanding where a link is displayed. I am coding this on the "links" section of my page, which is links to other businesses and webpages I support. So, for example, I'll have a link to a business, and the hidden content will be something I have to say about it, that the person viewing can chose to read by clicking to expand content. I want it hidden by default to take up less space. This is the code I put into my head section: <!-- COLLAPSIBLE TEXT --> <!-- This goes into the HEAD of the html file --> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> <!-- Copyright 2005, Sandeep Gangadharan --> <!-- For more free scripts go to http://www.sivamdesign.com/scripts/ --> <!-- if (document.getElementById) { document.writeln('<style type="text/css"><!--') document.writeln('.texter {display:none} @media print {.texter {display:block;}}') document.writeln('//--></style>') } function openClose(theID) { if (document.getElementById(theID).style.display == "block") { document.getElementById(theID).style.display = "none" } else { document.getElementById(theID).style.display = "block" } } // --> </script> And this is what the html looks like, which I've placed within a table (the list of businesses/pages I support or recommend): <td width=[]> <h2><u>[list name]</u></h2> <p> <a href="http://[link to business].com">[name]</a> <br> <div onClick="openClose('a3')" style="cursor:hand; cursorointer">∇</div> <div id="a1" class="texter"><font style="font-size:90%" color="maroon"> [hidden content]</font></p></div> Is is possible for me to place some kind of code where I have the ∇ that will switch between two icons when shown/hidden? Do I have to use a completely different script? Also, is it possible to keep both a link and a toggle icon on the same line without a break, yet have them lead to different places? Maybe this is more difficult than I think it should be, but I really cant find a good script on the internet for this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. plzz help!!!! i am struck wit one of my task.... in html/jscripts .. i have to design a page which dynamically generates a table and inserts the values submited.... in which i have 3 radio buttons ... which should toggle the visibility of the table.. Usually try and find a solution and edit to work for me but this time its a little trickier. I need a script and code that can toggle the contents of a div, while changing the button appearance but !! the button images and content have to be external to the script as the content and images will be loaded from a database on the page and duplicated on page. ideally what I want is say 3 buttons. button1img button2img button3img <// that when clicked control <div id=target><this target content is now set to 2></div> //and toggle between options and only one at a time can be on. The button images and content have to be set outside of the initial script (reason it will be duplicated several times on page) and it cant be a call page 'content1.html' either as it needs to be created from a db on the page. if anyone can help it will be MUCH appreciated, as im pulling my hair out trying to combine 3 different scripts that are all written differently. i understand this is a little trickier, im hoping it is possible. cheers steve I have created some online software which uses form data to submit to another page. The problem is that I have other submit buttons in the same form which submit to different pages (depending on which button is pressed). The first submit button works fine but all the others only work once. Code: <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button1' onclick="wbform.action='page1.php'; target='mainFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button2' onclick="wbform.action='page2.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button3' onclick="wbform.action='page3.php'; target='topFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button4' onclick="wbform.action='page4.php'; target='topFrame'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button5' onclick="wbform.action='page5.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> <input class="cssbutton" type='submit' value='Button6' onclick="wbform.action='page6.php'; target='_blank'; return true;"> Any ideas my friends? I am trying to auto submit a login form remotely using .submit() . It's submitting, but for some reason if I use submit() the login isn't processing. However, if I turn off the auto submit and use an actual submit button it logs in just fine. Now, in the form tag there is a call onsubmit for some validation, does .submit() trigger that form onsubmit="" function? Is there something that happens differently when a user clicks a button verses the .submit(). Thanks! Paul Following are my script to toggle b/w two different links, <html lang="en-US"> <head> <title>toggle b/w 2 different links</title> <script type="text/javascript"><!-- display=1; function displayvalue() { document.getElementById("sv1").style.display = "block"; document.getElementById("dw1").style.display = "none"; } function ShowHide() { if (display==1) { document.getElementById("sv1").style.display = "none"; document.getElementById("dw1").style.display = "block"; //document.getElementById('javaFun') calling java func from javascript display=2; } else { document.getElementById("sv1").style.display = "block"; document.getElementById("dw1").style.display = "none"; //document.getElementById('javaFun1') calling java func from javascript display=1; } } function Func1Delay() { document.getElementById("sv1").style.display = "none"; document.getElementById("loadimage").innerHTML="<input type='image' src='Loading.gif'>"; setTimeout("LoadImage()", 300); } function LoadImage() { document.getElementById("loadimage").innerHTML=""; ShowHide(); } --></script> </head> <body background="GsNJNwuI-UM.gif"onload="displayvalue()"> <div id="sv1" > <a onclick ="Func1Delay()" href="javascript:;">click me</a> </div> <div id="loadimage"></div> <div id="dw1" > <a onclick ="ShowHide()" href="javascript:;">Download me</a> </div> </body> </html> whenever we call a java method , (consider this line:- document.getElementById('javaFun');)after the completion of java call the page is reloading, how control this reloading after the server completing the request....? I'm sure this is a simple thing to do, but I know next to zero javascript and can't find an example online. What I want to do is to toggle a number on a webpage when a user clicks a link. So ideally there would be a "click to toggle" link, and then a number (lets say 400), when the user clicks that toggle link the number would change to 800 (or whatever my variable is set to), when they click it again it would go back to that original number (in this case 400). Would someone be kind enough to help me with this? Thanks I am very new to this, so I appreciate everyone's help and patience I am displaying information on our company intranet. I want the user to be able to choice if they want to see the information sorted by person or by issue. Because of the way that this is setup, the info is not in a table and cannot be sorted. I want users to be able to view content either way, but with only one option being visible. This would require the OR operator combined with the toggle function (I assume), but I am pretty lost... This toggle below allows me to show/hide one on top of the other, but I want one to replace the other: <SCRIPT type=text/javascript> <!-- function toggle_visibility(id) { var e = document.getElementById(id); if(e.style.display == 'block') e.style.display = 'none'; else e.style.display = 'block'; } //--> </SCRIPT> <P><STRONG><FONT color=#00467f size=3>Primary Contacts</FONT></STRONG></P> <P><A onclick="toggle_visibility('issue');" href="#">Toggle Contacts by Issue</A></P> <P> </P> <DIV style="DISPLAY: none" id=issue>%%Pages.Body PageID="596"%%</DIV> <DIV style="DISPLAY: block" id=pers>%%Pages.Body PageID="595"%%</DIV> Again, I really appreciate the help Hi there! Okay, here is my scenario: I have a link and a div on a webpage. With the link I want to toggle the content (HTML) of the div. On toggle, I want to load the content from a PHP-file and I want it to load on the toggle, not when the webpage originally loaded (to reduce loading time on the webpage itself). The file that is loaded on toggle doesn't have to be PHP, but it would help a lot. Does anybody know of a example of this or something similar to it? I have been looking for some time now, without any luck unfortunately. Highly appreciate any help/answers/feedback! I'm trying to create a forum for a business. The forum will change depending on what checkbox a person checks in the beginning. I have the checkboxes toggle a certain span. When you check one box it hides one span and displays the other. This works, but I want to position the displayed span at the top so a person doesn't have to look for the other forum. Right now there is just a big white space in the place of the hidden span, so it looks like there is nothing else on the page. I want to move the bottom span to the top when toggled. Here is my code so far. <form name="form1" method="post" action=""> Pork <INPUT TYPE=checkbox NAME="chbx" onClick="selecionatudo(true,1); toggleT('divt1','h'); toggleT('divt2','s')"> Beef <INPUT TYPE=checkbox NAME="chbx" onClick="selecionatudo(true,2); toggleT('divt1','s'); toggleT('divt2','h')"><br> </FORM> <form> <p><div id="divt1" style="visibility:visible; position:relative; top:0; left:0; overflow: visible;"> Shoulder: <br /> Ground beef:<input type="checkbox" name="Grinding" id="Ground beef" /><br /> Patties: Fresh<input type="checkbox" name="pattiesfr" id="Pattiesfr" /> or Seasoned<input type="checkbox" name="pattiesS" id="PattiesS" /><br /> Minute Steaks: <input type="checkbox" name="minsteaks" id="minsteaks" /><br /> Specific Cuts wanted:<br /> <textarea name="Order Sheet" cols="60" rows="30" id="Order Sheet"></textarea> </div> </form><br /> <div id="divt2" style="visibility:visible; position:absolute; top "> Type 2 Input: <input name="t2" type="text" value=""> </div> <BR> </p> <script type=text/javascript> var isIE=document.all?true:false; var isDOM=document.getElementById?true:false; var isNS4=document.layers?true:false; /* _w : which ID (1) or (2) */ /* _h : (h)ide or (s)how */ function toggleT(_w,_h) { if (isDOM) { if (_h=='s') document.getElementById(_w).style.visibility='visible'; if (_h=='h') document.getElementById(_w).style.visibility='hidden'; } else if (isIE) { if (_h=='s') eval("document.all."+_w+".style.visibility='visible';"); if (_h=='h') eval("document.all."+_w+".style.visibility='hidden';"); } else if(isNS4) { if (_h=='s') eval("document.layers['"+_w+"'].visibility='show';"); if (_h=='h') eval("document.layers['"+_w+"'].visibility='hide';"); } } </script> Hello to all. I am a new to the forum and new to Javascript, so please be gentle. I have a web page in which I am using a script to toggle between div tags. I learned how to set it up for only a few divs, but want to use more than 10+ div tags with the corresponding buttons on the side. When I set it up with 11 buttons, the 10th button does not work, but all of the single digit buttons do. (The 11th button is going to be a hyperlink eventually.) Here is the code for anyone who can help: <code> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function Button(obj) { var cls = obj.className; if(cls!='Btn_Selected') { if(cls=='Btn') { cls = 'Btn_Highlight'; } else { cls = 'Btn'; } } obj.className = cls; } function select(obj) { for (var x = 1; x <= 10; x++) { document.getElementById("Button"+x).className = 'Btn'; document.getElementById("Content"+x).style.display = 'none'; } obj.className='Btn_Selected'; var tmp = obj.id; var num = tmp.substr(tmp.length-1); document.getElementById("Content"+num).style.display = 'block'; } function MM_swapImgRestore() { //v3.0 var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++) x.src=x.oSrc; } function MM_preloadImages() { //v3.0 var d=document; if(d.images){ if(!d.MM_p) d.MM_p=new Array(); var i,j=d.MM_p.length,a=MM_preloadImages.arguments; for(i=0; i<a.length; i++) if (a[i].indexOf("#")!=0){ d.MM_p[j]=new Image; d.MM_p[j++].src=a[i];}} } function MM_findObj(n, d) { //v4.01 var p,i,x; if(!d) d=document; if((p=n.indexOf("?"))>0&&parent.frames.length) { d=parent.frames[n.substring(p+1)].document; n=n.substring(0,p);} if(!(x=d[n])&&d.all) x=d.all[n]; for (i=0;!x&&i<d.forms.length;i++) x=d.forms[i][n]; for(i=0;!x&&d.layers&&i<d.layers.length;i++) x=MM_findObj(n,d.layers[i].document); if(!x && d.getElementById) x=d.getElementById(n); return x; } function MM_swapImage() { //v3.0 var i,j=0,x,a=MM_swapImage.arguments; document.MM_sr=new Array; for(i=0;i<(a.length-2);i+=3) if ((x=MM_findObj(a[i]))!=null){document.MM_sr[j++]=x; if(!x.oSrc) x.oSrc=x.src; x.src=a[i+2];} } </script> </code> Hopefully I was clear with what I am looking to achieve. If I need to attach additional code or a link to the web page, let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks All in advance, ScottoNM |
