JavaScript - How To Retreive Multiple Textbox Value Into Javascript
Store Information to multiple textboxes from database
Code: $count=<mysql_num_rows($query1); for($i=0;$i<mysql_num_rows($query1);$i++) { $row1=mysql_fetch_array($query1); $getval[$i]=$row1[UserId]; Print "<input type=text name='txtbox[]' id='txtbox[]' value='.$getval[$i].'">; } then i call a javascript function Print "<script language=javascript>Call_Fun($count)</script>"; The above code store data into textbox and call the js function in .js file Code: function Call_Fun(count) { for(var i=0;i<count;i++) { alert(document.getElementbyId('txtbox')+i.value); } } But it doesn't retreive values in .js Thankyou all Similar TutorialsHello. I've been teaching myself HTML and CSS for a while, and now I've moved into the world of Javascript (but I'm still very much a beginner). For practice, I've been building a sample sign up form for a mock website, and I'm having problems with the birthdate section. The idea I had was to have MM, DD, and YYYY be the default values of my 3 textboxes (as an example for users), then set the value to nothing when the box gained focus. That all works fine, but I ran into problems when I tried to write an if statement to set the value back to MM, DD, or YYYY if the value was still nothing when the user clicked away. As it is now it just replaces the text inputted into the textbox (which of course is not good). Any ideas for what the problem might be? Code: <form name="signup" action="javascript:void(0);" method="post"> <table> <tr> <td>Date Of Birth:</td> <td> <input name="DOBmonth" type="text" value="MM" size="2" style="color: #555555;" onFocus="clearDOBmonth()" onBlur="restoreDOBmonth()" /> <input name="DOBday" type="text" value="DD" size="2" style="color: #555555;" onFocus="clearDOBday()" /> <input name="DOByear" type="text" value="YYYY" size="4" style="color: #555555;" onFocus="clearDOByear()" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> <td><button name="Submit" type="submit" style="font-size: 1em;">Sign Up</button></td> </tr> </table> </form> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> <!-- document.signup.DOBmonth.value="MM"; document.signup.DOBday.value="DD"; document.signup.DOByear.value="YYYY"; function clearDOBmonth() { document.signup.DOBmonth.value="";} function clearDOBday() { document.signup.DOBday.value="";} function clearDOByear() { document.signup.DOByear.value="";} function restoreDOBmonth() { if ('document.signup.DOBmonth.value = ""') { document.signup.DOBmonth.value = "MM"; // alert(document.signup.DOBmonth.value); } } //--> </script> Another side question, if I set a variable equal to the value of a textbox, then change the value of the variable, does that also change the value of the textbox? or is the variable no longer associated with the textbox. Example: Code: var a = document.form.textbox.value; a = blue; does document.form.textbox.value = blue? or is var a now completely independent of the textbox value? Thanks! Hello, I have a regular expression that returns multiple matches. For e.g. If the user types a string "980ee,34223,werw" in a textbox, the regular expression match returns "ee" and "werw". I would like to highlight both "ee" and "werw" in the textbox. How can I achieve this? Thank you. I have an asp.net textbox. I need to use javascript so that there are no postbacks. I would like to click the button and the textbox height kept increases each time the user clicks the button. So far I can toggle: function resize(){ var textbox = $get('<%=txtWhoTo.ClientID %>'); textbox.style.height = textbox.style.height == '56px' ? '23px' : '56px'; } I would like to increase the height 56px each time the clicks the button. Hello, I'd like to write some javascript code which will check to see if the contents of a textbox are equal to some value after the user leaves the textbox. they should get a message saying Correct or Incorrect . As an example: Code: <td>-2</td> <td><input name="ans1" type="text" size="3" maxlength="3" /></td> </tr> < The correct answer here would be 5 > <tr> <td>-1</td> <td><input name="ans1" type="text" size="3" maxlength="3" /></td> < The correct answer here would be 4> And, I don't wish to abuse the forum, but as I'm learning javascript and jquery, I'd like to see solutions to both (I learn by example), so I'm posting the same question in the jquery forum with a request for a jquery solution; I hope that this isn't bad form! Thank you..... I have a php script which dynamically creates a table containing text boxes with variable names. Example: Code: echo '<td align="center" bgcolor="'.$bgcolor.'"><input type="text" name="payable_'.$key.'" id="payable_'.$key.'" value="'.$payable.'" size="3" maxlength="4" /></td> '; In the above instance the text box name might be 'payable_23323'. I need to code an onKeyUp event which sends the text box name to a function, and in that function I need to retrieve the text box name and the string after 'payable_' together with the value the user has input into the text box. Any help is greatly appreciated . . . I have been Googling this for hours to no avail - probably because I don't know what to search for . . . Thanks hi, i have a javascript code of autosugesstion.i had got it from internet. it works fine, but the problem whenever i type a word.. and then press enter it automatically takes the closest autosugessted word from the list ...for example 1.the list contains the word "an apple"..so when ever i type "app" in the textbox and then press enter ..it takes the word "an apple" from the autosugessted list . example 2..if i type "king"..and then press enter it automatically takes "kingdom".. actually i am looking for this solution : it should only take the word from autosugesstion list if selected from arrow key or mouse other wise it should take word from textbox which is typed by user hence can any one solve it ? kindly have a look at attachement. thanks in advance hello, I have a textbox in my .net page, and totally new to java script. How do i get a script that will count the data being written in the text box to show increments of 100 and write the value to the bottom of the textbox. e.g. When u get to 100, at the bottom it says "1st hundred" ... and to 200 it writes "2nd hundred" UP to 500 ??? Please help thanks Hi, I currently have a asp.NET page which has a textbox with the ID: "txtbox1" I would like javascript to store the data entered into txtbox1 into a var. I have tried using var jVarName; jVarName = '<%#aVarName%>'; but so far it hasnt worked. Any suggestions would be appreciated ^^ Hello I was at the javascriptkit.com and was to use one of there Javascript calenders in my web page the "Popup Date Picker" and the "Date Time Picker". I have the calenders working fine and after the date is selected it fills in the correct textbox with the date. The problem is after the user selects the date in the calender popup window I would like it to run another javascript function. But I cannot see in the calender code how to have it call my javascript code. I also tried the OnChange event with the Textbox that the Calenders are filling in with the date but it only fires when I click in the textbox. I call the Calenders JavaScript functions from my JavaScript script function that is tied to an aspropDownList OnChange Event. Is there any way I can have these calenders call a javascript function when the date is selected in there window? Or could I try to catch when the textbox is filled in with the date and call my function then? Thanks Mike Hello folks, I have a content form. It has a textbox and a checkbox control (both are asp server controls and not HTML controls). When the user checks on the checkbox control, the textbox control has to become invisible. If unchecked the textbox control has to become visible. The following code works on a regular webform (meaning not as a content form). toggleVisibility is the function name that does the actual work. I am guessing I am not passing the textbox control ID properly to toggleVisibility function. Can someone guide me please? Following is the code: Code: <asp:TextBox ID="TextBoxPeriod" runat="server" Width="97px"></asp:TextBox> <asp:CheckBox ID="CheckBoxFromArchive" runat="server" Visible="true" Onclick="toggleVisibility('<%=TextBoxPeriod.ClientID %>');" /> function toggleVisibility(controlId) { var control = document.getElementById(controlId); if (control.style.visibility == "visible" || control.style.visibility == "") { control.style.visibility = "hidden"; } else { control.style.visibility = "visible"; } } Hello, Can you someone point me to the right script? I have a text box and would like to see if the value of the input matches the values defined in a JavaScript array. For example, the JavaScript array will hold five values: v1 = Tom v2 = Jerry v3 = Michael v4 = Stephanie v5 = Michelle If the text box does not equal one of those values, an alert will pop up stating it does not match. Thanks. Hi.. I am quite new to the world of JavaScript as I have done basic corse for it... and I have learnt that best way to understand it is to play around with it... but now I am stuck with on of the problem!! Problem: How can we assign text box input values by user to a variable and display that variable back on another element of the same HTML document(dynamically)... Conditions: The value has to be stored as a JavaScript variable only. No server-side script is to be used and has to be done locally. I want to be able to do this without having to do a postback. I already have the logic on the code behind and the enquiry object. also I am fairly new to javascript so I have been using mostly jQuery as easier to implement Hello! I am trying to find a script that allows you to open multiple browser tabs and then close each of those tabs, either one by one or all at once. Does anyone know how to do this please? Thanks so much for your help. Hi there people I am new to Javascript and have come accross a problem where I need to check the value of a field on a form before it is submitted. It has to be either a whole number OR a particular text value... I have added the following code before the form is submitted. However even if the value of the field is a whole number or it is the correct text string, the message box still pops up and the form fails to submit! Code: if ((document.AddNewVA.HourlyRate.value!='neg') || (isNaN(document.AddNewVA.HourlyRate.value*1))) { // Not the correct text OR a whole number in the HourlyRate field... alert('Please enter a whole number or \"neg\" in the Hourly rate field...'); document.AddNewVA.HourlyRate.value = "0"; document.AddNewVA.HourlyRate.focus(); return false; } Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Many thanks Hello, I have a script I am using which works great, except when I copy the code and have multiple events it only shows the first one. This I believe is because it's calling the first class name of it's kind. I want the class's to be named the same thing (css styling) and because the site is going to be dynamically driven, but is there a way to modify my script so that instead of looking for the first class it recognizes the right class associated with the button clicked. If anyone can help me fix this problem I am having I would be most appreciative.. Code: <script language="javascript"> function toggle() { var ele = document.getElementById("commpopup"); if(ele.style.display == "block") { ele.style.display = "none"; } else { ele.style.display = "block"; } } </script> <div class="togglecomment"> <div class="popup" id="commpopup"> <div class="commentbtn"><a href="#"><img src="images/commenticon.png" align="absmiddle" />Comment</a></div> </div> <div class="button"><a href="javascript:toggle();"><img src="images/comment_btn.jpg" /></a></div> </div> Hi, I've got a game 99% finished, basically when the game start and the player clicks through to the game panel, there are 30 tiles (80x80px) each, and the object of the game is for the player to press the tile with the letter "X" on, the X can be on any 1 of 5 different coloured tiles at anyone time and of course there can be more than 1 tile having an X on it. The tiles currently are built via .css, and this works 100% perfectly. However now I want to use images, pulled in from my local website instead of tiles built via .css. A demo of what I'm kinda of after is here > Edit fiddle - JSFiddle - if you press "run" the images will keep changing their order. The code I currently have for the game is here.. //CODE// var TheColorArray = ['red', 'yellow', 'green', 'blue', 'orange'], TheScore = 0, TimerLength = 2500, GameTimer, ScoreMap = { 'red': 500, 'yellow': 50, 'green': 30, 'blue': 20, 'orange': 5 }; function DrawRow() { TheColorArray.sort(function () { return .5 - Math.random(); }); var TheHTML = '<div class="row">'; var MagicColumn = Math.floor(Math.random() * 6); for (var i = 0; i < 5; i++) { if (i === MagicColumn) { TheHTML = TheHTML + '<div class="GameTile ' + TheColorArray[i] + '">x</div>'; } else { TheHTML = TheHTML + '<div class="GameTile ' + TheColorArray[i] + '">' + String.fromCharCode(97 + Math.floor(Math.random() * 26)) + '</div>'; } } TheHTML = TheHTML + '</div>'; return TheHTML; } You'll also see that "TheHTML = TheHTML + '<div class="GameTile ' + TheColorArray[i] + '">x</div>';" and "TheHTML = TheHTML + '<div class="GameTile ' + TheColorArray[i] + '">' + String.fromCharCode(97 + Math.floor(Math.random() * 26)) + '</div>';" both state that if X is pressed the game basically carries on. I need this to use a chosen image from my server, i.e. URL/apple.png .... i have also managed to get to this point (with apples) but its just not working.. Edit fiddle - JSFiddle Any help would be great.. Many thanks in advance!!! |
