Like a real mouse click. and a keyboard click event? Hi. 1) I would like to click the Download button on this site, then wait lets say 60 sec & click free download button. http://uploading.com/files/S4WYPP73/...r_ENG.rar.html I remember that somehow it is possible to create the Request URL & then input it into IE & the server will think I hit the button. But how can I make the URL? And how is it called? posting URL request? I will be using firefox or I can make HTML file & execute it in IE for every file. PHP Code: <form action="http://uploading.com/files/get/S4WYPP73/" method="post" id="downloadform"> <input type="hidden" name="action" value="second_page" /> <input type="hidden" name="file_id" value="4663720" /> PHP Code: function do_step_1() { do_request('files', 'get', {file_id: 4663720, action: 'step_1'}, function(wait_time){ if(wait_time > 0) start_timer(wait_time); else if(wait_time <= 0) download(); }); } function do_step_2() { do_request('files', 'get', {file_id: 4663720, action: 'step_2'}); } PHP Code: function download() { $('#waitblock').html('Free Download'); $('#waitblock').click(function(){ do_step_2(); }); } Hi to everyone! I need javascript to trigger automatically on load "w" keyboard stroke but to react on browser not on any input or other elements! Here's some code I wrote. It's just a red ball traveling around the screen. The point is to simulate some rudimentary physics. This means I have to make the ball bounce around the screen, but also get pulled down by gravity a bit. I did the bouncing part. However, I'm not sure how to simulate gravity. Any tips? Basically I just have to reduce the vertical velocity of the ball by a certain amount at every interval, but I'm not sure how to do that. I've tried different for loops in which vy will decrease by one, but to no avail! Code: <html> <head> <style> table {border-collapse:collapse} </style> <script> nx=128; ny=32; wx=600; wy=400; dx=Math.floor(wx/nx); ny=Math.round(nx*600/1000); x1=1;y1=1; vx=1;vy=1; function dart() {id1=x1+","+y1; b1=document.getElementById(id1); b1.style.backgroundColor="yellow"; if(x1==0 || x1==nx-1)vx= -vx; if(y1==0 || y1==ny-1)vy= -vy; x1 = x1+vx; y1 = y1+vy; id1=x1+","+y1; b1=document.getElementById(id1); b1.style.backgroundColor="red" } </script> </head> <body> <table> <script> dy=dx; for(i=0;i<ny;i++) {document.write("<tr>"); for(j=0;j<nx;j++) {color="yellow"; id1=j+","+i; document.write( "<td id="+id1+" style='background-color:"+color+ ";width:"+dx+";height:"+dy+"'></td>"); } document.write("</tr>"); } </script> </table> <form> Number of milliseconds <input type ="text" value="10" id="ms"/input> <br> <input type="button" value="dart" onclick="setInterval('dart()',document.getElementById('ms').value)"/input> </form> </body> </html> CLIFFS: - code shows red dot bouncing around - how do i decrease vertical velocity by N amount at every interval? Hi How I can simulate keypress in google chrome. I want to press a button to fire keypress event to print "X" in input box. Hi guys I'm trying to simulate links clicking on web pages, don't know how to deal with javascript links. The link I'm trying to click contains a tag like this: <a href="javascript:function(1243423)">text</a> Would somebody help me out please? Thanks a lot Hi forum, I am trying to attach an event to a dynamically produced button, and then use stopPropagation and preventDefault. Code: function chapter12_nodeOne() { //create an element var element = document.createElement('input'); //set some attributes element.setAttribute('type', 'button'); element.setAttribute('value', 'submit'); element.setAttribute('id', 'myBtn'); //appendd the element into a DIV document.getElementById('myDiv').appendChild(element); //uses EventUtil to attach an event listener EventUtil.addHandler(element, 'click', function() { alert('event attached'); }); var flag = confirm('prevent default behavior of button?'); if (flag) { var el = document.getElementById('myBtn');/////////////////////////(1) var ev = el.onclick; } } var EventUtil = { addHandler: function(element, type, handler) { //check if the element and the browser support DOM Level 2 event attachment //if the user is not browsing with IE if (element.addEventListener) { element.addEventListener(type, handler, false); } //if user is browsing with IE else if (element.attachEvent) { element.attachEvent("on" + type, handler); } //if user is using a browser that only supports DOM Level 0 event attachment else { element["on" + type] = handler; } }, removeHandler: function(element, type, handler) { //check if the element and the browser support DOM Level 2 event attachment //if the user is not browsing with IE if (element.removeEventListener) { element.removeEventListener(type, handler, false); } //if user is browsing with IE else if (element.detachEvent) { element.detachEvent("on" + type, handler); } //if user is using a browser that only supports DOM Level 0 event attachment else { element["on" + type] = null; } } }; But when debugging I see under el on the line marked with (1) that the onclick event is null. What am I doing wrong?! PS:the event is attached, when I click on the button I get an alert message is it possible to capture the control.event or element.event that was fired to invoke the onbeforeunload event. for example, if a button is clicked and it causes the onbeforeunload event to fire can i determine which button was clicked. thanks I want to detect the double-press of the space key. However, I want a single press of a space key to have a different function. The double-tap of space should only count if the taps of space are no more than, say, a half second apart. For example: The user hits space once, and javascript begins performing one action. 1/3rd of a second later, they hit the space bar again, and since that is within our threshold of 1/2 of a second, the action that began because the user hit the spacebar once should be cancelled, or undone (which I can write later) and the action when the user hits the spacebar twice should begin. Anyone have an idea how to do this? Thanks! Hi all, just before i kick off im not looking for the code just a push in the right direction. I am using a wysiwyg editor (tiny mce) which is basicaly a textarea with content in it. What i am looking to do is when a presses enter withing the textarea a <br/> tag is placed where the text curser is. Code: <textarea> <p>dfsdfdfdfdfdf dsfsdfdf dsfdsfdsf dsfdsfds dsfdfdss [enterpressed]<br/> dffdsf dfs dsfd sdf sdfs fdsf</p> </textarea> secondly, if a user users the arrow keys to navigate where to edit, when they get to the begining or the end of a tag, i want the arrows to be disabled. Code: <textarea> <p>||<df<sdf<dfd<fdfdf dsfsdfdf dsfdsfdsf dsfdsfds dsfdfdss [enterpressed]<br/> dffdsf> dfs> dsfd s>df sdfs>> fds>f||</p> </textarea> (<> represents arrow press, || represents blocked, and can go no further) any help much appreciated. hi friends, i got a two textboxes,my requirement is when i enter two charectors in textbox1,automatically cursor must point to textbox2. but in my case it is not happening like above, when ever i enter charector3,curosr is entering textbox2 along with the entered charector, please find my code below and help me in modifying it. 1.abc.ascs.cs file code is: txtCategory.Attributes.Add("OnKeyPress", "Focus1(this.id);"); 2.abc.ascx file code is: <script type="text/javascript"> function Focus1(that) { if (document.getElementById(that).value.length>1) { //If Len(.Text) = 2 Or Len(TXTbox.Text) = 5 Then document.getElementById('ShippedQtyAdjEntry1_txtDetail').disabled=false; document.getElementById('ShippedQtyAdjEntry1_txtDetail').style.backgroundColor="White"; document.getElementById('ShippedQtyAdjEntry1_txtDetail').focus(); } Hello, I've been working on creating a script that zooms the entire webpage. Other than using "CTRL" + "+" keys (generally compatible with all browsers) to zoom in inside a web browser, I want to put it in a different format, as a button; it would be even easier to use. The problem is that I can't figure out how to make it work/ why it does not work. The following is my code: Code: <html> <head> <script type = "text/javascript"> document.onkeydown = function(zoomin) { var key; zoomin = zoomin || event; key = zoomin.keyCode; key == 43; return false; if (key == 17) { return true; function(zoomin){; return false; } } }</script> </head> <body> <h1>Is this appearing to get bigger?</h1> <button onclick="javascript: function('zoomin');">Zoom in</button> </body> </html> Basically I was trying to use a DEC code as the code for the "CTRL" and "+" keys; then put them into a function. The "return true" under the IF statement means that I want it to hold so that the "+" key can be read as part of the script, and therefore make the page zoom in. Once that happens, it returns false. I would appreciate any help/ suggestions. I will also try to look for a way to reset the page (100%) or zoom out as well. Hello, I have a script that enables a certain button when some conditions are met. I'm having an issue with it, so I made a simple script to get to the core of what I'm trying to do. This is the script that I'm using: Code: function disable() { document.form.button2.disabled='false'; } Code: <form name="form"> <input type="button" name="button1" value="Enable Button 2" onclick="disable()" /> <input type="button" name="button2" value="Button 2" disabled="true" /></form> Basically when you press button 1, button 2 enables. If I reverse it (button 2 enabled by default, pressing button 1 enables it) it is fine. But for some reason this way round nothing happens when I press button 1. What am I doing wrong? Hey: I have several "submit" buttons on a form. I want users to be able to hit the "enter" key to submit the form. The page used to "post" the information checks for specifically what form button was pushed to submit the form before executing the appropriate code. I am automatically submitting the page when the enter key is hit, but it is defaulting to the first option of executed code in the post page. Example - I have an "update" button and a "delete" button on the form. On the post page, I first check to see if the delete button was hit. When I press enter on the form, it simply answers yes to the first question (did they click the delete button), and the code is executed. I really wanted to emulate that the update button was hit. So -- is there a way to hit the enter button, and in the js code, mandate that it was the "update" button that was clicked? Thanks. I have a ondrag event handler and in that I am trying to retrieve e.ClientX but it always return 0 in Mozilla. Works fine in IE though. How can retrieve the clientX and clientY in ondrag event? Hi I am trying to trigger an event once the user clicks the browsers back/forward buttons, I have built a system just like facebook where if the user has javascript turned on they get the full feature of the site which includes fast switching for example if someone goes to this page "example.com/index.php" and click a link to contact.php it would change the url to "example.com/index.php#!/contact.php" but what I need to know is if there is any way to change the pages content when the user goes back and forth through the fast switch pages? something like "history.back !== -1" or something like that. If anyone can help please reply, thank you. Hi, I want to recreate the effect of the drop-down bar that appears at the top of your browser when prompted to download an updated version of flash.
