Hello,
I'd like to be able to calculate the difference between 2 dates in the format dd/mm/yyyy var date1 = 06/01/2012 var date2 = 10/01/2012 Then an alert box would tell me there is a difference of 4 days. Thanks a bunch Jay. Similar TutorialsHi there How can you calculate the difference in two dates that are in different formats? The problem I have is that the dates are going to vary due to user inputs in which I have used jquery 's " datepicker " Cheers George Calculating the difference between two dates in JavaScript is relatively straightforward, provided you choose the right Date methods to work with. Whichever way you get there.... see this http://www.tutorials99.com/tutorials...aScript/page_1 Hi so because the jquery range slider has no date range ability and because the only date range plugin for jquery UI sliders is very bloated and fails to work on modern ipad / new touch event methods... I'm writing my own today.. Can some one better exmplain to me how to do: "theCurrentDate (05/12/2012) - anOlderDate (05/12/1990) = difference of how many days is?" and "theCurrentDate (05/12/2012) - 200 = but resulting in date formatted version, not some 9394829398 number"? Thanks! hi, I've got a problem and i really need help. this is my code <script> var y= new Date(); y.getFullYear() + '<br />'; alert(y); var year = new Date(); year.setFullYear(prompt('Enter the year','1990'),prompt('Enter the month','1'), prompt('Enter the day','1')); alert(year); var yy = y-year; alert(yy); </script> i want when a user write his/her birthday JS calculate the age. that's all I'm working on creating a custom calculator to determine the amount of money / credits users may earn from referrals. I've tested onChange, and it will work only when I have changed to a new field or clicked off that field. How do I make this calculate live? So if the current value is 5 and I change it to 6, it will automatically recalculate the new value. You can see what I'm working on he http://sheetmusichaven.com/admin/mys...calculator.php Note: The one I'm testing is the 1st Level field. For now i'm just having it display the date. Ican do it if there is one row, but i dont know how to calculate samae name of text field like in 2nd or more rows Hi there, I'm new here in this forum and I've registered to ask a question about JavaScript or Jquery. I don't know which to use. I have my code php like that: <?php //Get the data from system and return in EU format function ShowDate() { $Date = date("d"."/"."m"."/"."Y"); return $Date; } //Get the time from system function ShowTime() { $Time = date("H".":"."i"); return $Time; } ?> Now I have two input box <html> <head> </head> <body> Type the date:<input name="txtdate" type="text" class="input" id="txtdate" title="e.g dd/mm/yyyy" value="<?php echo ShowDate(); ?>" size="9" maxlength="10"> <br> Type the time:<input name="txttime" type="text" id="txttime" value="<?php echo ShowTime(); ?>" size="5" maxlength="5"> <br> London: Friday May 21 2010 05:12:00 <br> New York: Friday May 21 2010 00:12:00<br> Hong Kong: Friday May 21 2010 12:12:00<br> Tokyo: Friday May 21 2010 13:12:00<br> </body> </html> So.... the important is the user can interactive with the date. If I change the date or time all this values will be change as well. Someone knows how can I do this? The field txtdate I will get from a calendar plugin (javascript) that I already put in my code. Results are "numbers" Best regards Leos. I'm trying to write something to display the percentage difference of my parents' ages. I'm obviously having issue. Also I would like to shorted the percentage output to three digits, e.g. 9.25%. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is what I have. Code: //Set the two dates var dadDate=new Date(1964, 9, 27); //Month is 0-11 in JavaScript var momDate=new Date(1962, 4, 29); var today=new Date(); //Get 1 day in milliseconds var one_day=1000*60*60*24; //Calculate difference btw the two dates, and convert to days var dadDay=Math.ceil(today.getTime()-dadDate.getTime())/(one_day); var momDay=Math.ceil(today.getTime()-momDate.getTime())/(one_day); //Calculate difference var abDif=Math.abs(dadDay-momDay); var agePer=Math.ceil(((abDif)/(dadDay + momDay)/2)*100); document.write"Dad, congratulations. You are " agePer "% younger than Mom."; I am trying to launch an HTML page with a calendar field populated with today's date. I have a function to set the date but I am getting an error when I try to run the page: Code: //Begin function window_onload function window_onload() { UpdateData(); // TODO: Add your event handler code here function onInitialUpdate() { document.getElementById('calendar1').value=getTodaysDate(); } } //End function window_onload function getTodaysDate(){ var today = new Date(); var dd = today.getDate(); var mm = today.getMonth()+1; var yyyy = today.getFullYear(); if(dd<10){dd='0'+dd} if(mm<10){mm='0'+mm} var today = yyyy+'/'mm+'/'+dd; alert('Today is '+mm+'/'+dd+'/'+yyyy); return today; } gives me an error that the onload function is expecting an object. Is ther something wrong with my coding? hi, I have three variables - string openTime format hh:mm - eg "08:30" - string closeTime format hh:mm eg "17:30" - float lunchHours eg 1.5 Are there any js functions I can use to calculate how many hours the shop is open ? thanks hi, can someone help me create an auto pro rata calculator where there are four [4] boxes. first box should be where we could enter the customer's plan [29,39,40 etc.] and it should be divided with what ever i will enter on the second box w/c will be for the number of days in a month [28,29,30,31]. the 3rd box should be where i can enter the number of days the cust. was able to use the service and it needs to be multiplied from box 2. 4th box should be a read only box where the pro rata will be displayed. so: [box 1] divided "/" by [box 2] multiplied "*" by [box 3] equals "=" to box four thanks!!! I am trying to calculate age based on the date of birth input into a text field. the date field should allow users to enter a one or two digit month, one or two digit date and a two or four digit year. Users should be able to enter any of the following date formats: 11-2-10, 1-25-2010, or 01/25/2010. On some days it works and others it wont, like 11-1-91 returns that the user is under 18. Code: function checkAge(){ var stDate = document.getElementById("birth").value; var dayPartToDate = parseInt(stDate.substring(0,2),10); var monPartToDate = parseInt(stDate.substring(3,5),10); var yearPartToDate = parseInt(stDate.substring(6,10),10); var dtTo = new Date(yearPartToDate, monPartToDate-1, dayPartToDate); var mydate = new Date(); mydate.setDate(mydate.getDate()); var bday = dtTo - mydate if (bday < 18){ window.alert("You must be 18 to rent equipment."); document.getElementById("birth").value = ""; } } |
