JavaScript - Ajax Code To Send Values To A Php File.
How come the below code is not woring for me? when someone comments on my facebook comments plugin I want to get an email.
This is what i have Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> </head> <body> <div id="fb-root"></div> <script> window.fbAsyncInit = function() { FB.init({ appId : '220041184732123', // App ID channelUrl : '//http://www.corkdiscos.com/channel.html', // Channel File status : true, // check login status cookie : true, // enable cookies to allow the server to access the session xfbml : true // parse XFBML }); FB.subscribe('comment.create', function(response){ // Here you need to do a call to some service/script/application // to notify your administrator about new comment. // I'll use jQuery ajax to call server-side script to illustrate the flow $.post('mail.php', { "action": "comment created", "url_of_page_comment_leaved_on": response.href, "id_of_comment_object": response.commentID }); }); }; // Load the SDK Asynchronously (function(d){ var js, id = 'facebook-jssdk'; if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;} js = d.createElement('script'); js.id = id; js.async = true; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js"; d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(js); }(document)); </script> <div class="fb-comments" notify="true" data-href="http://www.corkdiscos.com/testimonials.html" data-num-posts="30" data-width="544"></div> </body> </html> I then have this php code to send me a mail in a mail.php file PHP Code: <?php $admin_email = 'corkdjs@gmail.com'; $commentID = $_REQUEST['id_of_comment_object']; $page_href = $_REQUEST['url_of_page_comment_leaved_on']; $message = "hello"; mail($admin_email, You have a new comment", $message); ?> what could be wrong and is there anyone that knows how to fix this to make it work? Similar TutorialsI have a form which contains a few drop down lists. The contents of the dropdown lists are dependent on each other and are populated via php scripts which are called each time a selection is made or changed by the user. When the view results button is clicked in the form I need the user to be directed to a specific page based on the selections they have made. The url of the page they need to be directed to is really based on what has been chosen in the first dropdown. The subsequent dropdowns form variables that I need to be sent to the page so that the data the user sees on that page is relevant. ie if the user has chosen bikes then a specific manufacturer then a specific price range the page they will be sent to will be the bike.php page with all the manufacturer specific bikes in their chosen price range visible. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about doing this please? I had thought about using the php header script along with an if statement but how do I then go about getting the variables sent to the page to be recognised? Would I be better looking at the window.location in js to do this? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated on this. I can post the code for the form if that makes any difference. I am having a problem sending info to a database. I have set up drag and drop with HTML5 and it is working, but I need to be able to get the values of the images uploaded to the database when each one is dropped into a dropzone. I don't need to upload the images to the database - just need the value of each image sent to it. Here is the HTML: Code: <ul id="images"> <li><a id="1" draggable="true"><img src="images/1.jpg" value = "flower"></a></li> <li><a id="2" draggable="true"><img src="images/2.jpg" value = "boy"></a></li> <li><a id="3" draggable="true"><img src="images/3.jpg" value = "girl"></a></li> </ul> <form name = "objects" id="form" action = "form.php" method = "post"> <div class="drop_zones"> <div class="drop_zone" id="drop_zone1" droppable="true" type = "text" name = "drop_zone1"> </div> <div class="drop_zone" id="drop_zone2" droppable="true" type = "text" name = "drop_zone2"> </div> <div class="drop_zone" id="drop_zone3" droppable="true" type = "text" type = "file" name = "drop_zone3"> </div> </div> and the javascript Code: var addEvent = (function () { if (document.addEventListener) { return function (el, type, fn) { if (el && el.nodeName || el === window) { el.addEventListener(type, fn, false); } else if (el && el.length) { for (var i = 0; i < el.length; i++) { addEvent(el[i], type, fn); } } }; } else { return function (el, type, fn) { if (el && el.nodeName || el === window) { el.attachEvent('on' + type, function () { return fn.call(el, window.event); }); } else if (el && el.length) { for (var i = 0; i < el.length; i++) { addEvent(el[i], type, fn); } } }; } })(); var dragItems; updateDataTransfer(); var dropAreas = document.querySelectorAll('[droppable=true]'); function cancel(e) { if (e.preventDefault) { e.preventDefault(); } return false; } function updateDataTransfer() { dragItems = document.querySelectorAll('[draggable=true]'); for (var i = 0; i < dragItems.length; i++) { addEvent(dragItems[i], 'dragstart', function (event) { event.dataTransfer.setData('obj_id', this.id); return false; }); } } addEvent(dropAreas, 'dragover', function (event) { if (event.preventDefault) event.preventDefault(); this.style.borderColor = "#000"; return false; }); addEvent(dropAreas, 'dragleave', function (event) { if (event.preventDefault) event.preventDefault(); this.style.borderColor = "#ccc"; return false; }); addEvent(dropAreas, 'dragenter', cancel); // drop event handler addEvent(dropAreas, 'drop', function (event) { if (event.preventDefault) event.preventDefault(); // get dropped object var iObj = event.dataTransfer.getData('obj_id'); var oldObj = document.getElementById(iObj); // get its image src var oldSrc = oldObj.childNodes[0].src; oldObj.className += 'hidden'; var oldThis = this; setTimeout(function() { oldObj.parentNode.removeChild(oldObj); // remove object from DOM // add similar object in another place oldThis.innerHTML += '<a id="'+iObj+'" draggable="true"><img src="'+oldSrc+'" /> </a>'; // and update event handlers updateDataTransfer(); // little customization oldThis.style.borderColor = "#ccc"; }, 500); return false; }); and the php PHP Code: <?php $sql="INSERT INTO table_answers (drop_zone1, drop_zone2, drop_zone3) VALUES ('$_POST[drop_zone1]','$_POST[drop_zone2]','$_POST[drop_zone3]')"; if (!mysql_query($sql,$db)) { die('Error: ' . mysql_error()); } echo $_POST["drop_zone1"]; echo $_POST["drop_zone2"]; echo $_POST["drop_zone3"]; ?> There is no error, it is not registering that there is something in the dropzone - nothing is being sent through the php. I have tried doing it with just text(instead of the image) and that won't work either. I am unsure of how to target the value of each image through javascript/php. Please help if you can, Thanks Hi; I have three files login.php, process.php and catcher.php. The first one contain the form, the second file is the form action and the last is a second file which must receive the form request as well but not getting redirected to it. login.php content : PHP Code: <form action="process.php" method="post"> <input type="text" name="userid"> <input type="password" name="userpwd"> <input type="submit" value="Submit"> </form> So I want the user who click on the Submit button get redirected to process.php as usual and at the seem time send a copy of the request into catcher.php. I am thinking for a hidden iframe but don't know how to de it. Regards Hello: I have a bit of an interesting delima: I have a form with select box which is dynamically db populated and based on the first selection, additional data populates two other linked boxes (a input and a textarea). This process happens in a table row. here is the source code of the selection process: PHP Code: <tr><td><select name='select_1' style='width:200px; color:#003399; text-align:center; font-size:1em' onChange="switch_select(); switch_text();"> <option>-- Select an Item --</option><option>5 A Series Blades</option><option>Balls</option><option>TT Tables-Mini</option><option>Bottle Water</option><option>TT Tables -- Reg</option><option>Gatorate</option><option>Blade combo</option><option>Membership Renewal</option><option>1 hr Private Lesson (Adlt)</option><option>1 hr Private Lesson (Chld)</option><option>Group Lesson (Adlt)</option><option>Group Lesson (Chlidren)</option><option>Membership (Couples-2)</option><option>Membership (Family -Up 4)</option><option>Robot Play</option><option>Gift Certificate</option><option>Gift Card Add Value</option><option>Club T-Shirts</option><option>Member Credit</option><option>Other</option><option>Rubber - 1615 PIPS </option><option>Rubber -Volant 3</option><option>6 A Series Blades</option><option>Blades Only -China QI</option><option>Blades Only -CQ 1</option><option>Ross-Action Blade</option><option>Ross-Classic Blade</option></select> </td> <select name='select_2' onChange="switch_text();" style='display:none' disabled='true'> <option>You need to select a category</option> <option></option> <option></option> </select><td><textarea name='mytextarea' rows='2' cols='40' class='expand10-1000' style='color:#003399; text-align:left; font-size:1.1em; border-left: none; border-right: none; border-bottom: none'></textarea><td> <td valign='top' width='17%'><input type='text' name='qty' class="qty" size='3' maxlength='3' value='' class='combo3' rel='code_id' title='' style='color:#003399; text-align:left; font-size:1.1em; border-left: none; border-right: none; border-bottom: none'></td> <td valign='top' width='17%'><input type='text' name='cost' class="cost" size='6' maxlength='6' value='0.00' class='combo3' rel='code_id' title='' style='color:#003399; text-align:left; font-size:1.1em; border-left: none; border-right: none; border-bottom: none'></td> </tr> The user has the option of adding an additional row which is similarily structured to give the user the option of selecting a different item (with its description an price) for each row. Now here is the problem; the adding row mechanism is done with ajax using the following code: PHP Code: $('#addrow').click(function(){ $('.item-row:last').after('[COLOR="Red"]//INSERT THE CONTENT OF THE PHP HERE//[/COLOR]'); if ($('.delete').length > 0) { $('.delete').show(); } bind(); }); I want to insert the content of an external php file containing the dynamic linked field into the ajax above in the section outlined in red. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Mossa I am programatically trying to send multiple emails from within javascript code. I have read forums with different ideas and have not found a true solution. The problem I am having is as follows: - in one try - i am using window.location="mailto:"+emailList - this works great if it only needs to generate 1 email, but I am doing it in a loop. when it loops through the 2nd time, it does not create a 2nd email - in a 2nd try - i am using window.open("mailto:"+emailList - this does open multiple emails, but it also opens multiple windows. I am trying to find a way to either not have the windows open (only the multiple emails) or automatically close the extra windows. I am including my code below - note - the window.location try is listed, but commented out. Any help would be appreciated. if (emailListArray.length > jsNumEmails) { var j=1; for (var i=0; i<emailListArray.length; i++) { partialEmailList = partialEmailList + ";" + emailListArray[i]; if (j == jsNumEmails) { //window.location="mailto:"+partialEmailList; window.open("mailto:"+partialEmailList, "temp", "height=5, width=5, top=0, left=0"); j = 0; partialEmailList = ""; } //if j++; }//for } // if anything left in the partial list, then send that separately if (partialEmailList != "") { //window.location="mailto:"+partialEmailList; window.open("mailto:"+partialEmailList, "temp", "height=5, width=5, top=0, left=0"); } Code: function addEvent(elem, type, func) { var obj = document.getElementById(elem); if(window.addEventListener) { obj.addEventListener(type, func, false); } if(window.attachEvent) { obj.attachEvent('on'+type, func); } } function $e(obj) { if(obj) obj = document.getElementById(obj); if(!obj) return; return obj; } function homeFunc() { $e('home-wrapper').innerHTML = "<div id=\"choose-container\"><span class=\"choose-buttons\" onclick=\"loginFunc()\">Login Exisiting Account</span><span class=\"choose-buttons\" id=\"createAcct\">Create An New Account</span><span class=\"choose-buttons-highscores\" id=\"createAcct\">Highscores Table</span>"; } function loginFunc() { $e('home-wrapper').innerHTML = "<div id=\"login-container\"><div id=\"error-field\"></div><form method=\"post\" onsubmit=\"return validate_login()\" action=\"./index.php\"><label for=\"username\">Username</label><input name=\"username\" id=\"username\" class=\"input\" type=\"text\" /> <label for=\"password\">Password</label><input name=\"password\" id=\"password\" class=\"input\" type=\"password\" /><input name=\"login\" type=\"submit\" value=\"Login\" class=\"loginButtonClass\" /><div id=\"loginQuickLinks\"><span class=\"loginQuickLinks\" onclick=\"homeFunc()\">Register</span> - <span class=\"loginQuickLinks\">Forgot password?</span></form></div></div>"; } function createAcct() { alert("Create An Account"); } function validate_usr() { var usr = $e('username'); var pwd = $e('password'); if(usr.value.length <= 0 && pwd.value.length <= 0) { loginErrorMsg('Please supply a username and password.'); return false; } if(usr.value.length >= 1 && pwd.value.length <= 0) { loginErrorMsg('Please supply a password.'); return false; } if(pwd.value.length >= 5 && usr.value.length <= 0) { loginErrorMsg('Please supply a username.'); return false; } if(pwd.value.length < 5) { loginErrorMsg('Invalid username or password.'); return false; } if(usr.value.length >= 1 && pwd.value.length >= 5) { $e('error-field').style.cssText='display:block;'; $e('error-field').innerHTML = "<img src=\"/images/ajax-loader.gif\" /> <span style=\"color:#ffffff\">Loading...</span>"; var req; var params = 'user='+encodeURIComponent(usr.value.toLowerCase())+'&pass='+encodeURIComponent(pwd.value.toLowerCase()); if(window.XMLHttpRequest) { req = new XMLHttpRequest(); } if(window.ActiveXObject) { req = new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP" || "Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } req.open('POST','server/userChck.php',true); req.setRequestHeader('Content-Type', 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'); req.send(params); req.onreadystatechange = req; if(req.readyState == 4 && req.status == 200) { if(req.responseText == 0) { window.scrollTo(0,1); setTimeout(function(){loginErrorMsg('Invalid username or password');},1000); return false; } } } return true; } function loginErrorMsg(msg) { window.scrollTo(0,1); $e('error-field').innerHTML = msg; $e('error-field').style.cssText='display:block'; } function validate_login() { var isTurn = (!validate_usr()) ? false : true; return isTurn; } window.onload = function() { setTimeout(function(){window.scrollTo(0,1);},100); addEvent('loginButton','click',loginFunc); addEvent('createAcct','click',homeFunc); } This code works fine when I set this line to false Code: req.open('POST','server/userChck.php',false); but as soon as I set this to true. Thise code deal with checkout process in Open Cart 1.5.1.3. I have read through all of them but don't understand much. So can you tell me how it work just before the REGISTER field (line 1-147). Thank so much! Hello I'd like to open using JS an outlook send mail window having a file from the server (full url, that should work, right ?) attached. Is this possible ? If so, please tell me how. Any help much appreciated. Hello: I have an ajax file to loads the content of another file into a div, here is the js code: PHP Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function showUser(str) { if (str=="") { document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML=""; return; } if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200) { document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; } } xmlhttp.open("GET","getcar.php?q="+str,true); xmlhttp.send(); } </script> the file within xmlhttp (getcar.php) has other js codes that are to be executed once the file is loaded into the div. here is one of those files: PHP Code: <!-- loading, please wait message script begins--> <div id="loading\" class=\"loading-invisible\" z-index: 999> <p><font color=\"black\" size='4'>one moment, please!</font> <font color=#218868> Auto Tech Pro « Initiating... » </font><br /><img border='0' src='images/spinnnnnn.gif' width='215px' height='206px'> </div> <script type=\"text/javascript\"> document.getElementById(\"loading\").className = \"loading-visible\"; var hideDiv = function(){document.getElementById(\"loading\").className = \"loading-invisible\";}; var oldLoad = window.onload; var newLoad = oldLoad ? function(){hideDiv.call(this);oldLoad.call(this);} : hideDiv; window.onload = newLoad; </script> <!-- loading, please wait message script ends--> <script type=\"text/javascript\" src=\"http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js\"></script> <script src=\"/AJAX/popBox1.2.0.js\" type=\"text/javascript\"></script> <link href=\"/AJAX/popBox1.2.0.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\" /> <script type=\"text/javascript\"> $(document).ready(function () { $('#inputbox').popBox({width:550, newlineString: '<br/>' }); }); </script> this however is not working. If I open getcar.php independently of the ajax, the preceeding js codes work fine, but not once the ajax loads the file into div. Any thoughts on how this is doable? Mossa Code: function dimensions(){ $('.resource-container').css("width",($(window).width() - 306) + 'px'); $('.resource-title').css("width",($(window).width() - 366) + 'px'); $('.resource-container').css("height",($(window).height() - 250) + 'px'); $('.resource-content ul').css("height",($(window).height() - 292) + 'px'); $('.resource-iframe').css("width",($(window).width() - 306) + 'px'); $('.resource-iframe').css("height",($(window).height() - 275) + 'px'); } function resourcego(id){ $.ajax({ url: "http://glynit.co.cc/resource.php?id=" + id + "&item=list&part=name", cache: false, success: function(data){ name = data; $.ajax({ url: "http://glynit.co.cc/resource.php?id=" + id + "&item=list&part=list", cache: false, success: function(data){ list = data; $('.resource-toolbar').html('<div id="resource-title" class="resource-title">' + name + '</div>'); $('.resource-content').html('<div class="resource-list"><ul>' + list + '</ul></div>'); dimensions(); } }); } }); } function viewresource(id,ref){ $.ajax({ url: "http://glynit.co.cc/resource.php?id=" + id + "&content=name", cache: false, success: function(data){ name = data; $('.resource-toolbar').html('<div id="resource-back" class="resource-back" onclick="resourcego(' + ref + ');">Back</div><div id="resource-title" class="resource-title">' + name + '</div><div id="resource-print" class="resource-print">Print</div>'); $('.resource-content').html('<iframe id="resource-iframe" class="resource-iframe" src="http://glynit.co.cc/resource.php?id=' + id + '&content=content"></iframe>'); dimensions(); } }); } $(window).load(function() {dimensions();}); $(window).resize(function() {dimensions();}); The webiste is http://www.glynit.co.cc/ and the login is guest:guest And the page is the resources page and it is the links on the left of that page that do not work. I am creating a template generator page that generates a webpage based on what I fill in for certain elements like image name, img src, book title, book author, etc. and these values are sent to me in an excel document which right now I just open and copy and paste everything from the excel document into the form fields for each section. So for example the client sends over a list of book titles they want featured on the page this week and they include author name, author link, book name, book url, img src, etc. and I just copy those new fields into my template and then click generate and the updated HTML code is there for me to copy. This part works totally fine but in the interest of saving time copying upwards of 100 fields from an Excel file into my template, is there a way I can select the excel file (stored locally) on my page with a "browse" directory form and then have a button that runs SQL queries on my Excel document to pull these updated titles, images, etc into my form fields dynamically? Do I need to utilize server technology for this or is there a simple script that when I click a button, will look at whatever excel file I have selected and say "grab this row at this column"? What is the best way to do this? Help! I'm relatively a noob when it comes to this stuff but I do know javavscript and SQL pretty well. I just can't figure out how to access my excel file to pull in the updated information. The excel file's row and column structure never changes, just the content on each row and column. Let me know if you can help. Thanks!!!! HI every one i want to disallow users to change a text input values . I don't want to use disabled tag of text input because of some problem . Hi, I'm a beginner of JavaScript. I need the code for creating pgv_pvid and ssid. I had searched the web, and got some code, I wonder if the code is right: Code: var curDate = new Date(); var curMs = curDate.getUTCMilliseconds(); pgv_pvid = (Math.round(Math.random() * 2147483647) * curMs) % 10000000000; ssid = "s" + (Math.round(Math.random() * 2147483647) * curMs) % 10000000000; WScript.Echo(pgv_pvid) WScript.Echo(ssid) Hi, I am hoping I just need to be pointed in the right direction with this. I have Page1. When Page1 body onloads it uses Ajax to call PartA Within PartA I have a message board so members can write messages which will be sent to my database in PartA[1] and immediately posted for view on to PartA[2]. As I want to have my request to the server updating regularly I want to have PartA[2] on a timed loop to refresh - I do not need the content of PartA[1] to refresh. So the order of events would look like this: Page1 | onload call | v PartA / \ V V PartA[1] PartA[2] (loads once) (constantly refreshes) What I am not sure about is that I have <body> and <head> attributes in Page1 only. I have already used my body onload to call PartA (and can't use it to call PartA[2] before PartA has loaded anyway). I do not want the user to have to click a button or do anything to call up PartA[2]. So my question is how would I get PartA[2] to automatically load within PartA? I hope I have made this clear, but if I haven't let me know and I will try again. Hi everyone, I'm new here. This is my problem: I have a project done in Java that I would like to publish on the web.
