JavaScript - Script That Alters What Page Is Shown Based On Ip?
Anyone know of a script that shows a different page based upon a users IP address?
Thanks Similar TutorialsHi, Please i am not getting clear understanding of a javascript code to redirect user to a different web page based on the day of the week. Please i have search for many script and not getting clear understanding from their code.I have also try several code myself but nothing good has come from it. Please can someone help me and write a descriptive code for me to understand better.I really plead you and your to help me...but i belief the Lord God will bless you for your time helping me. looking forward to here from you. Thank you. Clement Osei Hi @ all! I've a div that is editable (contentEditable = true). The div has a fixed size like a letter page. When the user has written so much text that the text overflows I want add a new div above and let flow the overflown text in the other div. (it's the some behavior like MS Word in page view, but now it is in the web) It is possible to do something like this in the web? One way to implement this is to check if the text of the div overflows (I've found java script examples in the web which do that). And than I need the text that overflows to move it to the next div. But I have not found a function that do this. Is there such a function? Another way is to insert a gap at that position a new page begins and use an background image that looks like a page border. With this solution, the whole text is in one div but it looks like floating to another page. But therefore, I have to add a gap between to lines at a specific position (the page border/margin and the gab between the pages). Does anyone have an idea how to realize this? Maybe there are other possibilities to find a solution, aren't there? I hope, you have understand what I want to realize. If not, please feel free to ask me! Thank you for answers and hint in advanced! Konstantin Hi I have a problem with a form in my site he http://www.21centuryanswers.com/submit.php if no field is filled and you click submit, an alert will be shown, yet the next page will still load! How do I fix it? the code for the form is: <form action="privacy.php" method="post" onsubmit="return checkform(this);"> <fieldset> <center> E-mail: <input type="textfield" name="email" size="60" value="" /><br/></br> Question: <input type="textfield" name="question" size="70" value="" /><br/><br/> <input type="submit" value = "Submit"/> </center> </fieldset> </form> and here is the validation script: <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> <!-- function checkform ( form ) { // ** START ** if (form.email.value == "") { alert( "Please enter your email." ); form.author.focus(); return false ; } if (form.question.value == "") { alert( "Please enter the question." ); form.title.focus(); return false ; } // ** END ** return true ; } //--> </script> Please help! Here's what I usually use and have been using for years and it works great, just not for this particular purpose. I don't have a clue when it comes to javascript. Code: <noscript><img src="no_script_quote.gif" width="406" height="94"/></noscript><script language="javascript"> var delay=6000 var curindex=0 var images=new Array() images[0]="quote1.gif" images[1]="quote2.gif" images[2]="quote3.gif" images[3]="quote4.gif" images[4]="quote5.gif" var preload=new Array() for (n=0;n<images.length;n++) { preload[n]=new Image() preload[n].src=images[n] } document.write('<img name="defaultimage" src="'+images[Math.floor(Math.random()*(images.length))]+'">') function rotateimage() { if (curindex==(tempindex=Math.floor(Math.random()*(images.length)))){ curindex=curindex==0? 1 : curindex-1 } else curindex=tempindex document.images.defaultimage.src=images[curindex] } setInterval("rotateimage()",delay) </script> But, now I want to be able to set a default picture to be shown first and have the random pics appear next. I also don't want the default pic to show up again in the random array. So basically, every time the page was first visited, or refreshed it would show the default picture then move into the random pics. Is there anyway to modify the code that I'm using to accomplish this? Or... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dell Can anyone help me out with a script that can redirect based on IP address? I want all of my computers on my LAN, 192.168.1.1-255 to be redirected to a specific page. IE When I type in test.homeip.com it goes to my web server and reads the index.html file. If the IP is in the 192.168.1.0 range it will redirect to 192.168.1.10:80 and if its any other IP it will send it to 192.168.1.11:80 Thanks! I would like to put a script on our website that users could interact with and that would ask a series of questions and based on those questions propose answers. Im surprised I cant find much on the web to help me do this. Does anyone know a PHP script, widget, or template that could provide me this functionality? I just want to be able to input a series of questions and answers and the logical flow and be able to host it on our web server. Hello, I have very little knowledge of javascript, other than modifying existing scripts, and I can't find anything about this particular problem. I need some help on creating a simple script that will display a div ONLY if the user comes from a certain page within the same site. Not sure if that was clear, but let me try with specifics. There is a link to a page called 'Clients' on the 'About Us' page. If a user goes directly to 'Clients', they should have a normal experience. If, however, they come via the 'About Us' page, I want to display a div at the bottom of the page that will take them back to the 'About Us' page. I know how to get a referrer, and I know how to show/hide divs. I just don't know how to combine the two. Can anyone help? I've been running into some trouble with a script that just isn't working, and since I'm not encountering any error messages and a similar script on the same page is working just fine, I'm really puzzled. Anyways, here's the code I'm having trouble with: Code: function ShowHide(Numb){ Ident1 = AdIDList[Numb]+"Tx"; Ident2 = AdIDList[Numb]+"Lnk"; if (AdLink[Numb] == "hidden"){ document.getElementById(Ident1).style.height = "355px"; AdLink[Numb] = "visible"; } if (AdLink[Numb] =="visible"){ document.getElementById(Ident1).style.height = "55px"; AdLink[Numb] = "hidden"; } } And here's the page code calling it (The page is assembled via PHP from a database, but I'm grabbing the code from my browser) Code: <a href="#Good ShepherdLnk" id="Good ShepherdLnk" onclick="ShowHide(2);return false;" class="AdLink">Stories</a><br> And, here's a similar bit of code on the same page that is working just as it's supposed to. Code: function hideimage(){ for (Count=0; Count<AdTotal; Count ++){ if (VisPic[Count]=="visible"){ Ident = AdIDList[Count]+"AdB"; document.getElementById(Ident).style.visibility = "hidden"; VisPic[Count]="hidden"; } } } function bigimage(Item){ hideimage(); Ident1 = AdIDList[Item]+"AdB"; document.getElementById(Ident1).style.left="35%"; document.getElementById(Ident1).style.visibility = "visible"; VisPic[Item] = "visible"; } Hi, I want my page to jump to a different page based on data collected in the form input fields. I can jump to a new page alright, using the following javascript: 1. javascript code in form_a.html document.forms["form_A"].action = "page_x.html"l; document.forms["form_A"].submit(); 2. document.forms[0].action = "page_x.html"l; 3. window.locaton = "page_x.html"; 4. window.location.href = "page_x.html"; The problem is, I can see the new page was jumped to, but immediately it return back to the page that trigger the jump. Any idea? I need to finish the project before Christmas. Any help is greatly appreciated! Jeff Hi Guys, I need to put previous/next navigation button images on a lot of slides and was wondering if javascript could do the following: Firstly say my slides increment as: slide1.html slide2.html slide3.html slide4.html If i am on slide 3 I'd like javascript to identify previous button as slide2.html and next button as slide4.html and so on Some loop/array code that does if filename = slide3.html then set button left(left.lpg)) url to slide2.html and button right(right.jpg) url to slide4.html array[0] = slide1.html array[1] = slide2.html ... opening as _self i.e no pop up. Thanks What I would like to do is have a page with a dropdown menu, and depending on which option the user chooses from the dropdown, reload the page and display a particular iframe below the dropdown, based on the users choice. Also, a default iframe would load (the one connected to the default choice in the select box). Hopefully that makes sense. I was trying to make this work with PHP (without having the user having to click a submit button) but I couldn't find a way to make it happen.
I want to have several forms on one page that are not displayed until a selection is made from the category drop down box(select element). The form displayed will depend on the selection made. Here is the code I have so far. Please help. Code: <body> <label id="Label1">ADMINISTRATOR CONSOLE - ADD AND EDIT ASSETS<br /> </label> <form action="" method="post" style="border-style: ridge; width: 311px; height: 37px;" name="myform"> <table> <tr> <td>Select Category:</td><td> <select name="category" onchange="set_sub_category()" style="width: 157px"> <option selected="selected" value="select">Select an Option</option> <option value="add">Add Category</option> <option value="district">Council District</option> <option value="region">Region</option> <option value="pom">POM</option> <option value="proptype">Property Type</option> <option value="assetcat">Asset Category</option> <option value="assettype">Asset Type</option> <option value="property">Property</option> <option value="asset">Asset</option> </select> </td> </tr> </table> </form> <form style="display:none" action= "admin_console_new.html" onsubmit="return (validate_form(this)& validate_list(this))" method="post" style="border-style: ridge; border-width: medium; height: 154px; width: 346px;" name="district"> <table style="height: 86px"> <tr> <td>Select District Value:</td><td> <select name="district"> <option selected="selected">Select an Option</option> <option>Add Council District</option> </select> </td> </tr><tr> <td>Enter District Name:</td><td> <input name="name" type="text"/> </td> </tr><tr> <td>Enter Description:</td><td><textarea name="description"></textarea> </td> </tr><tr> <td><input type="submit" value="Submit" name="Submit3" /><input type="reset" value="Reset" /> </td> </tr> </table> </form> Hi! I have a page with 8 different <input type="select"> fields. All the time only one out from this 8 is shown. the rest of them are hidden with css: display:none; How can I submit with POST only the select that's showing, and not the rest? All of them have differnt names. Like dropdown1, dropdown2, and so on... I dont know how can I get the value out from the one that's shown, and not the rest. Please Help my brain is about to explode... I want to limit the number of characters shown in a select box when its 'dormant' ie. I want the drop down to have the full word but when something is selected, I want it to show only the first 3 characters of the word. I can limit the width to a fixed px width but the right width is different depending on the word. (its a drop down of month names, I want them to have the full 'grown up' name in the drop down but that's too long and cumbersome for the space I have, I've trimmed it down by setting the width in CSS but it looks so much neater when the first 3 characters just show in the box rather than 4 or 3.5) Hi guys, so far any values recorded in my database are shown on the map: http://www.vfrflight.co.uk/new2/phpsqlajax_map_v3.html Code: <!DOCTYPE html > <head> <meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no" /> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/> <title>PHP/MySQL & Google Maps Example</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ var customIcons = { restaurant: { icon: 'http://labs.google.com/ridefinder/images/mm_20_blue.png', shadow: 'http://labs.google.com/ridefinder/images/mm_20_shadow.png' }, bar: { icon: 'http://labs.google.com/ridefinder/images/mm_20_red.png', shadow: 'http://labs.google.com/ridefinder/images/mm_20_shadow.png' } }; function load() { var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map"), { center: new google.maps.LatLng(47.6145, -122.3418), zoom: 13, mapTypeId: 'roadmap' }); var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow; // Change this depending on the name of your PHP file downloadUrl("phpsqlajax_genxml.php", function(data) { var xml = data.responseXML; var markers = xml.documentElement.getElementsByTagName("marker"); for (var i = 0; i < markers.length; i++) { var name = markers[i].getAttribute("name"); var address = markers[i].getAttribute("address"); var type = markers[i].getAttribute("type"); var point = new google.maps.LatLng( parseFloat(markers[i].getAttribute("lat")), parseFloat(markers[i].getAttribute("lng"))); var html = "<b>" + name + "</b> <br/>" + address; var icon = customIcons[type] || {}; var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ map: map, position: point, icon: icon.icon, shadow: icon.shadow }); bindInfoWindow(marker, map, infoWindow, html); } }); } function bindInfoWindow(marker, map, infoWindow, html) { google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'click', function() { infoWindow.setContent(html); infoWindow.open(map, marker); }); } function downloadUrl(url, callback) { var request = window.ActiveXObject ? new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLHTTP') : new XMLHttpRequest; request.onreadystatechange = function() { if (request.readyState == 4) { request.onreadystatechange = doNothing; callback(request, request.status); } }; request.open('GET', url, true); request.send(null); } function doNothing() {} //]]> </script> </head> <body onload="load()"> <div id="map" style="width: 500px; height: 300px"></div> </body> </html> However, how do i let people place markers when a button is pressed. I cannot combine the codes to save my life... Hello everyone, well i have asked for alot of issues earlier but none completely got resolved i hope that i get answer for this one. I want something a script or anything that shows loading as we have seen .gif images, before the game loads. I went through google and tried alot of scripts but failed maybe i don't know the exact method how to implement it as i am weak in jquery or scripting. I would like some one to help me out as i don't know what to do thank you in advance. I am using javascript that will show/hide a DIV if a link is clicked. In the DIV is a form. When the user input's form info, and the form is processed, if there is an error the page reloads displaying the error. However, the user must click the link again to see the form and correct their mistake. Is there a way to keep the div shown on reload? Thanks! Code: <script language="javascript"> function toggle() { var ele = document.getElementById("show"); var text = document.getElementById("add"); if(ele.style.display == "block") { ele.style.display = "none"; text.innerHTML = "show"; } else { ele.style.display = "block"; text.innerHTML = "Hide"; } } </script> I would like to know a script for when you have a page that can expire (or cannot be open again) --- a time limit for like 24 hours. Because I'm going to make a site where people can buy website designs, they buy it off paypal, they get redirected to a site where the code is located and the site will get expired in 24 hours -- then, they wouldn't be able to open the page again. If anyone knows the script, please post it here! Thank you x Is there a way to make a script that edits something on a different page.
I need some help finding a "find on page" script that will display the results in the middle of the page for IE. I have tried several different ones to no avail. The ones that work in all the browsers display the result in IE at the very bottom of the page. I am not very familiar with programing in Java and I am unable to modify any for my needs. The one I found that did work in IE didn't work in any other browsers. Please help, Thx
