JavaScript - Javascript/code-behind Variable Not Working?
I have a webpage where I have declared a variable as
Code: <input type="hidden" id="Edits_OK" /> I set the value of this variable within a Javascript function to either "T" or "F". In my code-behind, I have a btnSubmit_Click() event that calls this Javascript function. In this code-behind event, I also check the value of the "Edits_OK" variable, however, the value is always "". The Javascript function will always put a value in this variable whether it's "T" or "F". Could it be because I am trying to call two sets of values in a row? I have the following lines: Code: document.getElementById('lblName').innerHTML= webProperties.get_item('ProjectName');

and maybe it is because I am trying to get more than one set of information? now in the aspx part of the document, I want to call one of the variables in a couple of places and I am using this: Code: <div id="lblName"></div> It works great in the first instance but when I try to use it again, it doesn't show up and I don't know why. If I delete the first one, it shows up in the second location. does anyone who is a programmer see where I may be going wrong? So I have a file that factors quadratics. It works just fine when I open the file from my desktop, but when I upload it and try to use it, the javascript stops working. Any ideas? I have a feature on my website that allows users to choose the website background (using alternate css sheets) and then uses an externally linked javascript file to store the background choice as a cookie so it is consistent throughout the website. This works perfectly locally (i.e. when previewing my website on my computer) but now it is uploaded to my host it doesn't appear to be working. (with the same browser) My javascript is he http://www. b r p - e n v .com/javascript/backgroundchange.js (with no spaces) The website that the javascript file is linked to is http://www. b r p - e n v .com (with no spaces) In the head I have: <script type="text/javascript" src="../javascript/backgroundchange.js"></script> ...then I have: <body onload="set_style_from_cookie()"> ...and for users to choose which background: <form> <input type="image" src="../images/white-background-thumb.jpg" onclick="switch_style('bg1');return false;" name="theme" value="White" id="bg1"> etc... </form> My problem is: The background reverts back to the default when moving to a different page. This would indicate that the background choice is not being saved in cookies. But this works locally! I have tried putting the javascript directly onto each page but I still had the same problem. Hey All, I've been fighting this one for a few months now, and it is causing me to have to create multiple functions that basically do the same thing. I am using the three functions below to replace text between two div tags on a page, based on a link that is clicked: Code: <td><a href=\"javascript:void(0)\" onclick=\"htmlData('ajax/loginContent.php', 'view=1','data=2','displayField=txtResult')\">Active Jobs</a></td>\n";
Then further down the page: Code: <div id="txtResult">replace this content</div> For some reason, I CANNOT send the div id name as a js variable. When I do it errors out. BUT if I replace displayField in the js functions below with "txtResult" it works fine. I am fairly new to js, so it is definitely possible that I am doing something incorrectly. Below is the code that is using the name FFF in various places. The effect of all this is that the onclick function is not executed. I would expect a pop up alert when clicking the submit button.
