JavaScript - Click/touch Icon, Send Keyboard Input To Canvas
Edit2:: This is what I got to work.
Code: Then added a check to see if (up==true) {move up code} else if (down==true) {move down code} etc Edit:: Basically Code: Then in JS Code: function movingUP(){ window.event.keyCode = 38; } But what do I put in movingUP() to send keyCode 38 when while the button is being clicked????????????????????? Trying to add 8 icons of W,A,S,D, LEFT, RIGHT, UP, DOWN which upon click/touch will input the relative command to the screen canvas for mobiles that don't have a keyboard. They aren't clicking on the canvas. I need some buttons/icons/images outside the canvas probably in a div, that send input events as an alternative to a keyboard...Something that can be clicked and held down to repeatedly spam that key to walk in that direction. I have script to click icons from a keyboard and output the clicked key to a text field, but I don't know how to tie it into my keyboard listener in my game.. My game code uses: Code: // Handle keyboard controls var keysDown = {}; addEventListener("keydown", function (e) { keysDown[e.keyCode] = true; }, false); addEventListener("keyup", function (e) { delete keysDown[e.keyCode]; }, false); Then elsewhere I can trigger events when keysDown contains the number of a key that triggers an item like: Code: if (38 in keysDown && hero.y > 0 ) { // Player holding UP key //walk north code here } Is there a simple way to click on a button and send the "UP" keyCode to the entire screen? Particularly the canvas element......Or get it into my keysDown[e.keyCode]; I found this: Quote: function addKey(cKey) { d = document.forms["foo"].elements["bar"]; d.value = (cKey.value=='backspace') ? d.value.slice(0,-1) : d.value+cKey.value; } //elsewhere in html body which will send 'w' when clicked, and I tried to send '38' instead but it only sends it to 1 element and not the entire screen....so it shows 38 in a text box each time I click it but it doesn't actually send 38 to keys being pressed. Is there a simple way to do this? I wanted to add a fire button and others I figured I could just put an image with an event but can't figure it out.... Similar TutorialsI am using this: http://www.crowdsavings.com/open-source/drawbox (http://page-test.co.uk/jquery.drawbox.js is the main JS file). It works fine on desktop browsers, but there is an issue on every Touch mobile phone I have tried. When you draw on the canvas and then go to click a button off the canvas, it doesn't work. You need to touch off the canvas and then the button. So using the demo above, if you draw on the canvas and then click the 'Clear Canvas' button, it doesn't work and you have to press it again. I have tried setting focus on the body and also detecting what the focus is when a touch action is performed, but no luck. I know the entire screen is responsive to touch and mouse events, where I would have thought it best to just make the canvas section respond to touch/mouse events. i am new to sencha touch, and i created a login form which accepts user id and password and a login button,so when i click on login button i should get the user id value as a alert.and the code is Code: Ext.setup ({ onReady: function () { var myform=new Ext.form.FormPanel({ id:'form', fullscreen:true, standardSubmit:true, dockedItems:[{ Dock:'top', xtype:'toolbar', height:40, title:'Tool Bar', id:'login', } ], items:[{ xtype:'textfield', name:'id', width:'50%', align:'center', label:'User Id' }, { xtype:'textfield', name:'pwd', id:'pwd', width:'50%', align:'center', label:'Password' }, { xtype:'button', ui:'round', width:'50%', text:'Login', align:'center', handler:function() { gettingvalues();/* var fields = form.getValues(); console.log(fields['name']); */ } } ], }); gettingvalues=function() { var fields=myform.getValues(); Ext.Msg.alert(fields['id'].getValue()); } } }); But am not getting any value in alert, what i have to do. and after that i want to send those values to our local server which requires id and password,it will be in the format of... oururl?action=login&id=xyz&pwd=xyz, in this it will accepts and returns the response,so for that what i have to write, please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance. Hello all, Essentially what I am trying to get without much success on the issue is this: I want an icon in my template that, when you click on that certain icon (image), a drop down menu appears. You know when you click the file option in your browser's toolbar, and a drop down menu appears? It can be just like that, but instead of save as and open, links will be there to places within our intranet opened in a new window. This has to work for IEX 7+ because that's all our company decides to use. I tried to submit a chang erequest for them to move to a better CSS/Javascript supportive browser such as Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome... but they're way too fixed on IEX for some odd reason. I am obliged for any help on this. *edit* colors dont matter. It can be the default colors used in a basic drop down menu. I figure javascript would have more options though. I wrote a function, to change a input value to show a key, which PHP later recognizes and makes addition changes too. However I can't seem to get this simple function to work, can you see anything wrong with it? Code: function quote(id) { var shout = document.getElementById('shout'); var currentShout = '; '.shout.value; var prefix = '@'.id; shout.value = prefix.currentShout; } I call it by Code: Comment the input that changes is written as Code: Howdy all! Hope Thursday's treatin everybody all right. Way back in the day I did some old school HTML....but after many years not touching a web page I've kind of been thrown straight into the fire with some "wish list" items I'm trying to figure out. I've done plenty of searches and somewhat have an understanding of some of the basics of what I need to do...but I'm not the least bit comfortable with Javascript (I'm just assuming that this the language most applicable to what I'm looking for - please tell me if I'm wrong!) and after the experience of my one day crash course with PHP I knew I needed to turn to some experts. Okay I have a rather large web (about 150 pages) of historical transcriptions created with XHTML (with PHP headers and footers embedded). Generally speaking, I don't much like web pages that have right-click disabled and various other protections in place.....but I'm also the sort to obsessively cite my source material and give proper credits....as a researcher who's hard work has been plagiarized and passed off as the fruits of someone else's labor, I wholly understand why many are inclined to put such walls up. I am aware that there are workarounds to get through almost all such "blocks" - disabling scripts, etc. - and that they serve more as pop-up thought provokers and deterrents to the majority than true security from someone hell-bent on copying the material. Further, I wouldn't want to block an honest researcher from copying/pasting/etc. So this is what I'd wondering... Is it possible to disable right-clicking in a manner that when someone tried, a dialogue/input box with a personal message and request for their name and email address would pop up which (1) would continue to disable right-clicking if "cancel" was chosen rather than the information submitted, (2) would enable right-clicking after they submitted this information - and would keep it enabled until they left the site, and (3) would email me the information. Again, I do know most any solution would be "crackable" and not even show its head to some users...but I think its still worth taking the time to implement...even if it only serves as a thought provoker and appeals to one's conscience. Thanks in advance for any and all help! Brittanie Hello, I just created a new page topper for my website, and am new to javascript. I spent HOURS on designing all of the mouseover images that are on my website now, except there are spaces in between all of the images and I designed them to touch. You can see what I am talking about on my website he http://www.corporateavedesign.com I've tried everything in the code to get these images to touch. Can anyone help? Here is my code: Code:

Please help if you can, I am desperate and my website looks crazy right now! THANKS!!! I'd be grateful for any help please. I've just started to build my first ever sencha app and am pleased with the results so far, but am now stuck on one thing. I've built a search form and want to be able to display the results on the same page, but this is where I'm stuck. The form works and sends the results using GET, but it doesn't send it to the correct place. I want to show it on the same page (I've built a php file called search.php to handle the results), but it reloads the whole app with the variables in the url. I've tested all of the code away from the app and it works perfectly so I know the problem isn't with the code, but more with my lack of understanding of Sencha so would be extremely grateful for any help. Code: searchForms = new Ext.TabPanel({ fullscreen: true, title: 'Search', displayField: 'text', sto searchForm, iconCls: 'search', items: [{ id: 'searchSubmit', xtype: 'form', standardSubmit : true, scroll: 'vertical', items: [{ xtype: 'fieldset', title: 'Keywords', defaults: { // labelAlign: 'right' labelWidth: '35%' }, items: [{ xtype: 'textfield', name: 'keywords', id: 'keywords', placeHolder: 'EG: Music, TV', autoCapitalize : true, required: true, useClearIcon: true }] }, { xtype: 'fieldset', title: 'Advanced Search', items: [{ xtype: 'selectfield', name: 'genre', id: 'genre', label: 'Genre', options: [{ text: 'All', value: ' ' text: 'Country', value: '1' text: 'Sci-Fi', value: '2' text: 'Western', value: '3' }] }, { xtype: 'selectfield', name: 'media', id: 'media', label: 'Media', options: [{ text: 'All', value: ' ' text: 'Music', value: '1' text: 'TV', value: '2' text: 'Movie', value: '3' }] }] }, { layout: 'vbox', defaults: {xtype: 'button', flex: 1, style: 'margin: .5em;'}, items: [{ text: 'Search', ui: 'confirm', scope: this, hasDisabled: false, handler: function(){ searchForms.submit({ url: 'search.php' }); } }, { text: 'Reset', ui: 'decline', handler: function(){ searchForms.reset(); } }] }] }] }); I've then tried to use this to display the results on the same page, but as I say this just doesn't work. It doesn't call the search.php page at all. I've made sure all of the files (except the index.js file which is in a js folder) are in the same directory as the index.html file. I've also tried to load the file in the app seperately by using: Code: Ext.regModel('mobile', { fields: [ {name: 'text', type: 'string'} ] }); var searchForm = new Ext.data.TreeStore({ model: 'mobile', proxy: { type: 'ajax', url: 'search.php?keywords=test', reader: { type: 'tree', root: 'items' } } }); and that works perfectly so I know that all of the php stuff is working and does work with Sencha Touch, but I'm just not sure how to get it to only work when somebody clicks 'search' I'd be grateful for any help with this as I've spent days searching the web to get this fix, but nothing seems to be working I don't know if this is of help, but the main javascript file is: Code: var tabPanel; var homePanel = new Ext.Panel({ title: 'Home', iconCls: 'home', fullscreen: true, scroll:{direction:'vertical',threshold:7}, items: [{ html: '

Home

' }] }); var servicePanel = new Ext.Panel({ title: 'Services', iconCls: 'team', fullscreen: true, items: [{ html: '
Please choose a service
' }] }); var searchPanel = new Ext.Panel({ title: 'Search', iconCls: 'search', fullscreen: true, items: [{ html: '
Search
' }] }); var feedtabpanel = new Ext.Carousel({ title: 'More', iconCls: 'more', fullscreen: true, sortable : true, xtype:'panel', scroll:{direction:'vertical',threshold:7}, items: [ { title: 'Contact', html : '

Contact Us

', }, { title: 'Feedback', html : '

Let us know what you think

', }, { title: 'Tell a friend', html : '

Tell your friends how much you love this app

', } ] }); searchForms = new Ext.TabPanel({ fullscreen: true, title: 'Search', displayField: 'text', sto searchForm, iconCls: 'search', items: [{ id: 'searchSubmit', xtype: 'form', standardSubmit : true, scroll: 'vertical', items: [{ xtype: 'fieldset', title: 'Keywords', defaults: { // labelAlign: 'right' labelWidth: '35%' }, items: [{ xtype: 'textfield', name: 'keywords', id: 'keywords', placeHolder: 'EG: Music, TV', autoCapitalize : true, required: true, useClearIcon: true }] }, { xtype: 'fieldset', title: 'Advanced Search', items: [{ xtype: 'selectfield', name: 'genre', id: 'genre', label: 'Genre', options: [{ text: 'All', value: ' ' text: 'Country', value: '1' text: 'Sci-Fi', value: '2' text: 'Western', value: '3' }] }, { xtype: 'selectfield', name: 'media', id: 'media', label: 'Media', options: [{ text: 'All', value: ' ' text: 'Music', value: '1' text: 'TV', value: '2' text: 'Movie', value: '3' }] }] }, { layout: 'vbox', defaults: {xtype: 'button', flex: 1, style: 'margin: .5em;'}, items: [{ text: 'Search', ui: 'confirm', scope: this, hasDisabled: false, handler: function(){ searchForms.submit({ url: 'search.php' }); } }, { text: 'Reset', ui: 'decline', handler: function(){ searchForms.reset(); } }] }] }] }); Ext.regModel('mobile', { fields: [ {name: 'text', type: 'string'} ] }); var searchForm = new Ext.data.TreeStore({ model: 'mobile', proxy: { type: 'ajax', url: 'search.php', reader: { type: 'tree', root: 'items' } } }); var store = new Ext.data.TreeStore({ model: 'mobile', proxy: { type: 'ajax', url: 'areas.php', reader: { type: 'tree', root: 'items' } } }); var nestedList = new Ext.NestedList({ fullscreen: true, title: 'Location', displayField: 'text', sto store, iconCls: 'locate', }); nestedList.on('leafitemtap', function(subList, subIdx, el, e) { var store = subList.getStore(), record = store.getAt(subIdx), recordNode = record.node, title = nestedList.renderTitleText(recordNode), card, preventHide, anim; if (record) { card = record.get('card'); anim = record.get('animation'); preventHide = record.get('preventHide'); } if (card) { tabPanel.setCard(card, anim || 'slide'); tabPanel.currentCard = card; } }); var services = new Ext.data.TreeStore({ model: 'mobile', proxy: { type: 'ajax', url: 'subcats.php', reader: { type: 'tree', root: 'items' } } }); var servicesList = new Ext.NestedList({ fullscreen: true, title: 'Services', displayField: 'text', sto services, iconCls: 'team', }); servicesList.on('leafitemtap', function(subList, subIdx, el, e) { var store = subList.getStore(), record = store.getAt(subIdx), recordNode = record.node, title = servicesList.renderTitleText(recordNode), card, preventHide, anim; if (record) { card = record.get('card'); anim = record.get('animation'); preventHide = record.get('preventHide'); } if (card) { tabPanel.setCard(card, anim || 'slide'); tabPanel.currentCard = card; } }); Ext.setup({ icon: 'icon.png', glossOnIcon: false, tabletStartupScreen: 'tablet_startup.png', phoneStartupScreen: 'phone_startup.png', onReady: function() { tabPanel = new Ext.TabPanel({ tabBar: { dock: 'bottom', layout: { pack: 'center' } }, fullscreen: true, ui: 'dark', animation: { type: 'cardslide', cover: true }, items: [ homePanel, nestedList, servicesList, searchForms, feedtabpanel ] }); } }) Hello all, I've got a problem with a JS dropdown menu that I'm using. It's an unordered HTML list that is driven by a JS file. The menu is at Watt You Need Electrical - Offering Electrical Services For Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula & The Surf Coast Initially when I got the menu template all the top level items and all the list items were coded as links. What I've done is make the Electrical heading just text and the two dropdown list items below it are still links. The menu works both on a desktop with a pointer and also on a mobile device by touch. The problem is that on a mobile device when I touch the Electrical heading the dropdown doesn't appear. The Solar heading and the dropdown below it work fine because the Solar heading is still a link. Obviously I've created the problem by changing the Electrical heading to text from a link but I'd like to be able to have it that way. I've tested using some online mobile device emulators and it works OK there but when I physically test on an Iphone 5 the bug is there. I haven't been able to get my hands on any other phones or devices to test yet so don't know if it's a problem just with Iphones or Ipads. I've had a look through the Dropdown.src.js file but it's way beyond me, I've listed both the HTML and JS file below. Code:

Watt You Need Electrical - Offering Electrical Services For Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula & The Surf Coast
<meta name="description" content="Watt You Need Electrical is your one stop shop for all types of electrical services. Hi developers Needing some help. My javascript/css drop down menu is not working on the ipad or other touch screen devices. It works fine on laptops & desktops which use a mouse. I've discovered that this is because touchscreen devices like the Ipad do not recognise the onmouseover/onmouseout event handler that my script relies on. Is there any way I can modify my script so that it is compatiable both with traditional devices and touchscreen devices? The code I am using is: Which drives the following html:

what's new

clothing
clothing

accessories
bags jewellery

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you. Nonye Hello All, I have two questions regarding a wonderful Javascript keyboard I found he http://www.rawdev.net/2009/02/24/fxk...efox-keyboard/ Its a nice firefox 3 plugin that comes very close to emulating a mobile phone keyboard. It has two drawbacks, one minor one major: I am disable and and am unable to really use a keyboard, hence the virtual one. As you can imagine I also can't really write, so people send me PDF's that are editable which I can do text to speech with. I would really like to use this keyboard with these PDF's, but the selecting editable fields in a PDF doesn't produce the keyboard like selecting normal fields does. Here is the code that I believe toggles the keyboard: Code: window.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", function(aEvent) { var thebrowserget = gBrowser.getBrowserForDocument(aEvent.target); if(thebrowserget)thebrowserget.addEventListener("click", function() { FxKeyboard.itemFocused(); }, false); FxKeyboard.toggletoolbar(true); }, true); }, itemFocused: function () { var focused = document.commandDispatcher.focusedElement; if (focused && (focused.type == 'text' || focused.type == 'textarea' || focused.type == "password")) { // textarea found, open keyboard this.focus = focused; this.toggletoolbar(false); So basically I'm wondering if there is a "focused.type" for a PDF field, and if this depends greatly on how the editable PDF was made. This may be a stretch but I see in Adobe Reader there is an option to enable or disable JavaScript so I thought it might be possible. The second problem involves the Enter key. It doesn't really submit forms, it can only add new lines. Not a huge deal, but I have this code: Code: function simKey() { var A=[].slice.call(arguments), a1=A[0]||"", base= document.body; if(a1.nodeName){ base=a1;A.splice(0,1);a1=A[0]} if(a1 && a1.split && a1.length>1){A=a1.split("");} if(a1.splice){ A=a1; } A.map(function(key){ var ev = document.createEvent("KeyEvents"); ev.initKeyEvent("keypress", true,true,window,false,false,false,false,key.toFixed?key:key.charCodeAt(0),key.toFixed?key:key.charCodeAt(0)); base.dispatchEvent(ev); }); } //firebug example: var tb=$$("textarea")[0]; simKey(tb, "hello world"); simKey(tb, 13); simKey(tb, "hello world".split("")); // ////////////// doEnter: function (){ simKey(this.focus, 13); } I found this on another forum where someone had the exact same problem a few days ago with this keyboard. I've tried to add this to overlay.js file but it just doesn't seem to work. I've managed to type this whole thing on this keyboard before my session timed out, it works great, just these few things hold it back. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance. I'm doing an Onscreen Keyboard in my DHTML app. It has to update the text in a textbox. However, i have a problem.... How do i append the key's character to the data wherever the cursor is currently at? GeoKBD.js and Geo.js is a virtual keyboard that is intended to simplify support for Georgian Writing. for Geo.js this code working fine: Code: onkeypress="return makeGeo(this, event);" But i dont know code with same function for GeoKBD.js Please help me So I have been asked to debug a page, for some reason that I cannot figure out after 3 days of messing I cannot use my keyboard in the input boxes to backspace or ANYTHING but enter new text. Many Thanks Hey guys. Been trying to mod an existing open source virtual keyboard script by adding a scramble function for security purposes which scrambles the keyboard after each click. Quite new to javascript and have spent a full week studying OOP for Javascript and testing it out, but to no avail. Partially i guess that the script is too complex for a newbie like me. Would appreciate it alot if i could get some tips/ guidience. Here's the full script: http://www.greywyvern.com/code/javas...yboard.user.js Excerpts of what i'm trying to work on: An attempt to get it to randomise (without any clicking yet) The numpad is apparently stored in an array so i tried to pass it into a sorting algorithm. Doesn't work and actually i have no idea if i'm even trying in the right direction. Would appreciate any help! Code: /* ***** Layout Number Pad ************************************* */ this.VKI_numpad = [ [["$"], ["\u00a3"], ["\u20ac"], ["\u00a5"]], [["7"], ["8"], ["9"], ["/"]], [["4"], ["5"], ["6"], ["*"]], [["1"], ["2"], ["3"], ["-"]], [["0"], ["."], ["="], ["+"]] ]; function fisherYates (VKI_numpad) { var i = this.VKI_numpad.length; if ( i == 0 ) return false; while ( --i ) { var j = Math.floor( Math.random() * ( i + 1 ) ); var tempi = this.VKI_numpad[i]; var tempj = this.VKI_numpad[j]; this.VKI_numpad[i] = tempj; this.VKI_numpad[j] = tempi; alert ('This line is read'); } } fisherYates(VKI_numpad); How to use the shortcut keys in jvascript? Can someone illustrate it to me with an example? Such as suppose on clicking the Ctrl+alt key,i want to display a prompt dialog box........How to do this? Need some urgent help..... thank you in advance Hi, I want to make a button which if pressed works as if F11 key on keyboard is pressed. For button html would be like this (I think) FullScreen Now I don't know what function would go in that onclick as I don't have the JS. One more thing that would be nice if the text 'FULLSCREEN' changes to 'NORMAL WINDOW' when the button is pressed, so that the user could realize that they have to press the same button again to get out of fullscreen, it would be like toggle at every click text changes from 'FULLSCREEN' to 'NORMAL WINDOW' and then if pressed again changing to 'FULLSCREEN'. |
