JavaScript - Need To Populate Textbox From Popup Window
Hi,
I have these two pages which I want to link...the index.html is the main page. Actually this is the same like the pop-up calendar but the only difference is I don't want numbers, I need a list of options so user can choose and when they select, it will transfer to the textbox right away like the calendar. I have a form and trying to use a pop-up window to select an option then transfer the option selected to show on the textbox. I have 10 textboxes and all of them has a "Select" button to pop-up the option list. BTW, the "SELECT" button will populate the same option list. As you can see I get this code from somewhere else but it doesn't work on me. Is there an easy way to do it? Please help. Thanks in advance. I have a page where a user can enter info into a text box named (usertext). Below the box I have a link that takes the user to another page. This page is just a test page for proof of concept. I am wondering if there is a way that I can dynamically populate a variable located within the url of my link. The info that will populate the variable will be whatever the user types into the text box. For example my link will be <a href="nextpage.cfm?textvariable='#usertext#'> So when the user clicks this link, it goes to the next page already populated by the value of the info the user typed into the text box. I am thinking javascript will be involved, but I am not really sure. I am using coldfusion 8. Total newbie, I (almost) know just basic HTML. I have my own website and I'm trying to find out how to make a popup window work from clicking on a part link in a parent window table so that my clients can make an inquiry. I have about 300 parts on 10 pages total and would like it to be something I can just enter the new varibles on the parent page and the code takes care of the rest. I would like the popup to have the part info as a variable from the table as a variable in the inquiry page header and also part description as a variable the hidden subject line. I have included the code I already have and I'm looking for the script to bring it all together. Example for header may read "Part 1" for example and the hidden subject variable to read "0001 Part 1 $20" for example. I hope this is possible and I hope I made sense. Hi, I'm kinda hoping this is possible but haven't found any reference to it... I have a parent page that opens a popup on click that launches a sidebar navigation on the right of the screen and resizes the parent page. What I am wanting to do is create a second popup (approx 250px high) that opens below the navigation (which is only around 600px high) but I have noticed that even when you have no status bar in the popup windows, they can still end up overlapping because of additional tools or plugins that the viewer has in their browser. Is there any way to get the popups to butt up against each other instead of overlapping? More like a relative popup? Any assistance would be appreciated. :-) I guess this case applies to both popup windows opened by window.open() and by showModalWindow(). I have two buttons in popup window, "Cancel" and "Save". If the user clicks either button, there is a "process" at parent window before close() at popup being called. The problem now is, if the user click the "X" sign at top right corner of that popup window, how to trigger the "process"? I think I can do nothing in popup window since the closure is unexpected programmatically. Can I put some kind of listener in parent window to detect if popup is closed? Charles Hi, I have an input element (textbox) on a webpage, and capture the onblur event of the input (textbox) control to do validation. My problem is that when the page is closed or the user click on another window the onblur event of my textbox gets called too. I need the onblur event handler to be called only when the textbox loses focus b/c another element on the SAME webpage gets focus, but not when the user clicks on another window or closes the browser window. What I need is for my main page to have a text field. Above the text field there should be a set of images for bold, italics, underline, etc; when you click on them it inserts the html code <b></b> at the cursor point. Next I want there to be a link, that when clicked will open a popup box with smileys. When you click on one of the smiley images it should insert the smiley code (example :smile: ) into the parent window text field. And would it be possible to make that work with pages of emotes? Hi, I desperately need help after hours of reading 1000s of forums just to be able to have a thumbnail which will enlarge in a new window. I've found this script in one of the forums, and I am trying to apply it to my page. But when I click on a thumbnail, although it's opening a pop-up window, it also enlarges the image in the current browser. How should I fix this? I also need to do the same thing with a .swf file. How can I have a flash movie enlarge when clicked? I'm looking for something where if a button is clicked, a small box will come up in the current window and become the active window, while the original window is visible but not active. It's hard to explain, but its a popup that is contained in the same window. And when the user presses okay or cancel on the "popup" window. They return to where they were in the original window. This is rather cumbersome, so I thought of using a popup box instead of a window and linking this to an onmouseover and onmouseout event. I have a problem in centering my popup window. I want it centered in the page when it pops up. The problem is in the code that is red.
