JavaScript - Javascript To Update The Form Data On Page Refresh

I am sorry if this is a stupid question. I have never really used javascript before. I found some code online that I tried to piece together so I might not even be going about this the right way.

I want the background to take up 100% and resize with the browser. That works fine. I also want the text "welcome to the ahi life" stick to the bottom left hand corner and the enter button to stick to the bottom right. I would like these to resize with the browser as well. It all kind of works, except the first time you load the page the text and the button are much smaller than I would like them to be. If you refresh the page everything is correct.

My best guess is that either the functions or some of the variables are conflicting somehow, but I have tried just about everything to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

i'm working with a city select option, a hotel select option & an iframe. the hotel select option is populated depending on the chosen city which then updates the iframe src. this is all working fine.

the trouble im having is that when the page is refreshed, normal f5 way, the hotel option changes whereas the city option & the iframe src remains the same??

this problem does not occur on a force refresh via control + f5 as then both select options & iframe src revert to their original state.

I don't want the city option to change upon a normal page refresh. how do I go about this?

Hello All,

I'm working on a project which requires a small portion from a large table of information to be displayed on a webpage (sort of like a magnifying glass). The display will be a table of fixed size (m by n cells).
Some of the cells will be merged. When the table updates, different sets of cells may be merged.

It needs to be coded in HTML5, which I assume includes the use of JavaScript and CSS (The specs of this is rather unclear at the moment, so I'm going to cover all bases).


Anyhow, looking through the HTML5 and JavaScript tutorials, I found two ways to solve this problem.
One way would be to have a script to parse out the relevant information, and have it output into a table (dynamically generating the HTML required).


The second way would be to have the script draw the table on its own in a canvas.

User events (such as arrow keys on the keyboard) will change the position of the focus (move the magnifying glass in a cardinal direction).


I hit a small snag with the first solution -
Is it possible to update the table on the page (including changing the structure of it) without having to refresh?

If you could point me to a relevant tutorial or example on the web, I'd greatly appreciate it.

For some reason i dont know why the javascript isnt reading the function even tho they are correctly named, the file is being read as the 1st test alert comes up.

the 2nd one inside the function doesnt know.

can anyone point in the right place or show me where i am going wrong.

as you can see i have put both my entire form and and the java file up.

#on a note i have multiple forms in a tab system if that has anything to do with it although i shouldnt see why it should.

#oh and did i get my regex correct for ck_price e.g "9.99 or 10.99" and ck_abv eg "4.2 or 10.2 or 34"

#im also using wampserver 2.1 with win7 and chrome if it's needed

hi there, i'm new here and pretty new to js.

i'm making a page for my daughter's school - or trying to.

they are having a silent auction and i'm trying to make a very simple bidding page. where i'm running into problems is passing the bid to a text box (read only) where it can be updated when a new bid is entered.

I would like this to be in the upper part of the page with the listings of the auction items, i just can't wrap my head around how to do this. I've gotten as far as the form for entering the bod and contact info. I have the php code to submit. i still have to get the validation js to make it more secure.

Hi,

I want my page to jump to a different page based on data collected in the form input fields. I can jump to a new page alright, using the following javascript:

1. javascript code in form_a.html
document.forms["form_A"].action = "page_x.html"l;
document.forms["form_A"].submit();

2. document.forms[0].action = "page_x.html"l;

3. window.locaton = "page_x.html";

4. window.location.href = "page_x.html";

The problem is, I can see the new page was jumped to, but immediately it return back to the page that trigger the jump.

Any idea? I need to finish the project before Christmas. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have a "pre-order" opt-in page disguised as a "step 1" in the order process of a clickbank product I'm ready to launch.

I'm wanting to pass the user's first name, last name, and email address (built into the optin form) over to the clickbank order page upon submit.

Clickbank gives me the data strings you can pass along, but I'm not sure how to properly configure this function or where to place it in my page code.

This is the only step I have remaining before I can go live, and it's holding me back. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful. I can provide any code needed for review to assist in getting this wrapped up.

Hello Coding Forum gurus, I'm hoping to find some help here with a javascript order form. I am currently working on a javascript form that requires field validation as well as a summary page (order confirmation) after every field is entered correctly. At this point I am satisfied with the field validation portion of the script, however, I am not sure how to call a function to display the summary page.


here is a description of my dilemma:

To begin, the field validation functions are called by the form's onsubmit event handler. Which then works it way through several text field validation functions. After the script finishes validating and checking each field for acceptable input, how do I call a function to display a summary page of the order form?




On a side note, the only programming experience I have ever had is with javascript. I have never taken any other programming classes, and I am fairly new to this. Any help would be appreciated.
