JavaScript - Video+sound Input On Website Without Plug Ins
Does anyone know if it is possible to use Javascript and HTML to access video+sound input so a user can use a webcam on a site without the need for flash/plug ins?
Trying to figure this one out but not finding any good starting points yet. Not even sure if it is feasible. Similar TutorialsHi to everybody, I created a site and added a sound on click events a hover. But not all my website visitors prefer it, so I would like to add a button to mute these click sounds. Is this possible? Please help me because I don't have a clue on how to proceed. Thanks very much in advance Dimitri I have created a transparent flash video (virtual spokesperson) for my website. For demoing purposes, I would like to have this appear on any desired website. This is what I am trying to produce - here a virtual spokesperson appears on the codingforums.com website: http://www.innovateads.com/iads/demo...dingforums.com Have a look at other sites which enable one to type in a URL and their demo virtual spokesperson appears on the given site: http://www.vspworldwide.com, http://www.impactspokesperson.com, http://www.websitetalkingheads.com and http://www.laserstreamvideo.com. I believe they do this within an iframe to display the underlying website. Any ideas how to get this working ? I would really appreciate any feedback, code, how-tos, links... whatever. I am a complete javascript newbie. Thanks Hello all, My website has a search field at the index page. I want to test this search field for vulnerabilities by entering Javascript. When i enter <script>alert("test");</script> in the search field there comes a pop-up which says: "best" instead of "test". When I enter <script>alert("test123");</script> the pop-up says: "test" instead of "test123" The page source displays the following after I enter <script>alert("test");</script> in the search field. As you can see it changes my "test" input to "best" for some kind of reason. <a href="/searchresults.jsp?searchpage=1&freetext=%3Cscript%3Ealert%28%22best%22%29%3B%3C%2Fscript%3E& pagepart=objectname;description;shorturl&expressionset=&nodelocation=0000000000010000&ds mshowinsearch=true&dateformat=dd-MM-yyyy&creationdatestart=&creationdateend=&modificationdatestart=&modificationdateend= &publicationdatestart=&publicationdateend=&searchbase=0&searchrange=10&expans ion =" class="blauw bold italic"><script>alert(" best ");</script></a> <a href="/searchresults.jsp?searchpage=2&freetext=%3Cscript%3Evoert%28%22test%22%29%3B%3C%2Fscript%3E& pagepart=objectname;description;shorturl&expressionset=&nodelocation=0000000000010000&ds mshowinsearch=true&dateformat=dd-MM-yyyy&creationdatestart=&creationdateend=&modificationdatestart=&modificationdateend= &publicationdatestart=&publicationdateend=&searchbase=0&searchrange=10&expans ion =" class="blauw bold italic"><script>voert(" test ");</script></a> <a href="/searchresults.jsp?searchpage=3&freetext=%3Cscriptie%3Ealert%28%22test%22%29%3B%3C%2Fscriptie%3E& amp;pagepart=objectname;description;shorturl&expressionset=&nodelocation=0000000000010000&am p;dsmshowinsearch=true&dateformat=dd-MM-yyyy&creationdatestart=&creationdateend=&modificationdatestart=&modificationdateend= &publicationdatestart=&publicationdateend=&searchbase=0&searchrange=10&expans ion =" class="blauw bold italic"><scriptie>alert(" test ");</scriptie></a> </p> <p class="sorteer-aantal">Deze zoekvraag levert geen resultaten op</p> So in some way my website changes my input, but what is happening? and is it possible that somebody can abuse this searchfield? Thanks in advance for your reply, Hanna (a newbie with Javascript) Ok, so if you navigate ovr to my website "http://www.mancunianmacca.co.cc" you will notice that a box pops up asking for your name. When you type it in it adds it to the page. Is there a way I can get this to remember the users input and only ask them once then remember. Like cookie or anything. If you need any extra things. Just ask.
Hi all, I have this idea - and there might be something already out there that can do it for me - but I don't even really know how to phrase what I'm looking for. Basically, I want the user to be able to enter a word in a text box. When the form is submitted, that word is included in the text in the resulting page in several places. Maybe this example will work well: The text on the website might be this: Quote: Yesterday for lunch I ate a delicious _________. It was the first time in a while I had eaten a _________ and it was even better than I expected it would be. In fact, it was so good that I immediately ran to the store and purchased a whole box of ________s. A user would come to the site and be prompted for a type of food. If they entered banana in the text box and submitted the form, the resulting page would then read: Quote: Yesterday for lunch I ate a delicious banana. It was the first time in a while I had eaten a banana and it was even better than I expected it would be. In fact, it was so good that I immediately ran to the store and purchased a whole box of bananas. Is this even possible? And if so, how difficult would it be to do? Thanks a bunch for the help! I'm not entirely sure this is possible. I hope it is, and it doesn't seem to far-fetched or impossible. With JS, how would one go about checking if a user has DivX Web Player installed? Usually people put in code within the embed, so if it the player doesn't load, it would have the message behind stating the fact. However I haven't seen this used at all with DivX, instead, you see pop-up boxes, whether installed or not, stating "Don't have DivX Web Player? Get it here for windows or mac" I find this extremely annoying, and would never want such informalities on my website. I'm running my web page on IE8+9 with Windows Home via Boot Camp. My JS code is: Code: if (QuicktimeIsPresent) { var song = PlaySong('200', '50', '#9cceff', 'false', 'false', 'tunes/taps.mov') document.write (song) } The JS code for PlaySong is: Code: function PlaySong(width, height, bgcolor, autostart, loop, songloc) { var play = '' if (songloc == '') return play // default values ... if (width == '') width = '200' if (height == '') height = '50' if (bgcolor == '') bgcolor = '#FFFFFF' if (autostart == '') autostart = 'true' if (loop == '') loop = 'false' play = '<OBJECT NAME="Midi"\n' + ' ID="song"\n' + ' CLASSID="clsid:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95"\n' + ' CODEBASE="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab"\n' + ' WIDTH="' + width + '" HEIGHT="' + height + '"\n' + ' LOOP="' + loop + '">\n' + ' <PARAM NAME="bgcolor" VALUE="' + bgcolor + '">\n' + ' <PARAM NAME="autostart" VALUE="' + autostart + '">\n' + ' <PARAM NAME="filename" VALUE="' + songloc + '">\n\n' + '<EMBED NAME="song"\n' + ' PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/"\n' + ' TYPE="audio/x-midi"\n' + ' WIDTH="' + width + '" HEIGHT="' + height + '"\n' + ' LOOP="' + loop + '"\n' + ' BGCOLOR="' + bgcolor + '"\n' + ' AUTOSTART="' + autostart + '"\n' + ' SRC="' + songloc + '">\n' + '</EMBED>\n\n' + '</OBJECT>\n' return play } For IE8+9, the quicktime crescendo/midi control shows .. but when I click the play button on it, it almost immediately stops. Other Windows browsers(Firefox and Safari and IE 7) play just fine, together with all Macintosh browsers. I really need some help here ... thanks in advance. BTW, here's the link. John Love Hey guys, im pretty new to using Jquery and coding period. i came across a problem with the .scrollto plug-in and i have searched up and down for an answer and none would really solve the problem. im trying to run .scrollto to jump from one div to the next with a smooth animation in a horizontal website. this is what the head tag looks like so far <script src="scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="scripts/jquery.scrollTo-1.4.2-min.js"></script> <script src="scripts/jquery.localscroll-min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $.localScroll(); }) </script> i tried removing either local scroll or scrollTo and see if there was a conflict but that wasnt the case. ive seen the script run on a webpage without having to add $.localScroll(); to every link, right now it just doesn't move at all. any help would be greatly appreciated. I've recently downloaded this Firefox plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...utofill-forms/ It has a feature called dynamic tags which do the following functions using Javascript: <datetime> new Date().toLocaleString() <useragent> navigator.userAgent <langcode> navigator.language <resolution> screen.width+'x'+screen.height <clipboard> this.getClipboardText() I was wondering if a JavaScript code exists that could get the value of "nation=" for links like the one below [url]http://m.nationstates.net/?nation=NATION_NAME_GOES_HERE Any help would be appreciated and if I'm off my rocker feel free to tell me so Hi, I currently created a video uploader, but when the video is too big in size, the page seems to be not doing any until the video is completely uploaded. I want to put somewhat like "loading.. please wait" script until the video is not completely uploaded. Thanks. //Ana When my page loads, it automatically jumps down as if it were jumping to a named anchor. It's more apparent on longer pages (doesn't replicate if page fills screen). Happening in Win FF/IE/Chrome Disabling stylish-select.js (from http://www.prismstudio.co.uk/2009/05...x-replacement/ where he used to allow comments but not anymore) fixes it, but I don't know enough Javascript to debug, would really appreciate if somebody could have a look. Good example at http://studiohodson.com/projects/Bea...restaurant.php Script is at http://studiohodson.com/projects/Bea...lish-select.js Thank you thank you! Hello Everyone! I am looking for help with this script and I was wondering if someone could help me out? I want to play a sound on a mouse click, which there are a ton of scripts out there that do this. Here is my problem I want to be able to let the users shut the sound on and off. This is for a feature to my site that I am building that is just using javascript and html. Here is what I have so far below. I would also like to have a div to show if the sound is on or off. The only thing that I am looking for the javascript to play and stop the sound file. Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <script type="text/javascript"> var theSound = "on"; function playSound(){ if(document.getElementById("mute").checked == false){ document.getElementById("theSound").style.display = "block"; //isert play sound code here } } function muteSound(){ document.getElementById("theSound").style.display = "none"; //insert stop sound code here } </script> </head> <body> <form name="soundTest"> <input name="sound" type="checkbox" value="on" id="mute" />Mute </form> <p onmouseover="playSound()" onmouseout="muteSound()">Mouseover this to make the "Sound".</p> <!--This is just a div that represents a sound playing.--> <div id="theSound" style="display:none; background:#FF0000; padding:10px; font-size:36px">SOUND!</div> </body> </html> Note: That this script just shows a mute check box. I think I am going to to buttons for start and stop. Thanks for the help in advance and look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for any help or advice.
I have a self project I am exploring. I would like to play a simple sound file each time a function is run. The function runs every second, so, basically, I am just trying to get an audible click sound file to run every time the function runs. I do not know how to play a sound file thru javascript. Any ideas? Here is the code file thus far... Code: <html> <head> <title>Timer</title> <link href="timer.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <embed src="click.wav" autostart=false hidden=true name="sound1" enablejavascript="true"> <script type="text/javascript"> var seconds = 0; var clockId; var running = false; function runClock() { seconds++; document.timer.timerClock.value = seconds; } function startClock() { if (!running) { clockId = setInterval('runClock()',1000); running = true; } } function stopClock() { if (running) { clearInterval(clockId); running = false; } } function resetClock() { document.timer.timerClock.value = 0; seconds = 0; } </script> </head> <body> <form id="timer" name="timer" action=""> <div id="header"> <p> <span>Timer<br /> </p> </div> <div id="intro"> <p>Click to begin timer</p> <p id="buttons"> <input onclick="startClock()" type="button" value="Begin Seconds Counter" /> <br /> <input name="timerClock" id="timerClock" value="0" /> <br /> <input onclick="stopClock()" type="button" value="Stop Timer" /> <br /> <input onclick="resetClock()" type="button" value="Reset Timer" /> </p> </div> </form> </body> </html> Ok, I'm working in dreamweaver cs4 I'm trying to make my links have a sound on mouseover. The tag for this is under the depreciated behaviour section. I tried it to test it. It added the following code to my link: Code: To View Full Product Line<br /> <a href="http://herbal-nutrition.net/yesifeelgood/products" target="_blank" onmouseover="MM_controlSound('play','document.test','sounds/Sound 378.mp3')">Click Here</a> <embed name="test" src="sounds/Sound 378.mp3" loop="false" autostart="false" hidden="true" width="0" height="0" enablejavascript="true"></embed> My only problem is that when this loads in a browser on mouseover it loads the window as a quicktime sound then directs to the link preview on the following link (the link where I added the sound is underneath the slideshow: http://www.designfoxmediaworks.com/c...e/carlene.html is there something i should be changing to make this work properly? |
