JavaScript - Need Help With Creating A Function Using Date Methods

Hi all,
Basically I'm having trouble writing a date function to return this data:

I need it so I can run setinterval on the date function. I'm quite new to javascript (obviously!) so any help will be much appreciated.

I'm trying to verify todays date against my input date, using a check value function, but for some reason when it comes to a day over 9 like 12/10/2009 or 12/20/2009 looks like is only recognizing the first number 12/1/2009 and 12/2/2009 and getting my alert back as to choose a future date, this is my code, any help would be greatly appreciated:

I am working on an HTML project that displays a field with a number in the field by each day. What it does is start at 0 on day one. Each day it adds a 1 to the field. Day 2, the field would say 1, then day 3 would say 2, and so on. I am not sure how to approach this. This is also displayed in an HTML format. I want to to be automatic and change as the date changes. I will also need a way to reset it back to zero if possible.

So I want this function to return the date in the format: 4-Jan-2011. I feel like I have to make the variables strings or something but I can't figure it out, I'm kinda new to javascript.

I've written a js function to find the difference between two dates. the format being used is dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm. The function returns correct value when give one set of values, but go wrong with another set. examples are given below.

set 1 : Time 1 = 24/02/2011 09:30 , time 2 = 24/02/2011 16:00

Output is corret here. It gives 6 Hours & 30 Minutes (after converting the difference)

set 2: Time 1 = 24/02/2011 09:30 , time 2 = 25/02/2011 16:00

Here, it gives 31 days, 6 Hours & 30 Minutes. My code is given below. Also the alert of dates display strange values. Don't know if it is timezone issue. I wonder what is going wrong here

I have a javascript assignment I am having difficulties with. I have most of it complete but need some assistant with the last portion and that is to get my display function to work. Can someone help me out and tell me what it is I need to do to make it work? I actually had it working when I was able to put all the code in the get function but was told I needed a separate display function so any input is greatly appreciated.

Okay so I'm trying to come up with as many alternative methods to accomplish something. So I'm just seeking input from anyone who is willing to supply some.

After the user clicks on a match type it'll know HOW MANY sides to the match there are so say for a singles match it'd have 2 sides (1 vs. 1) for a Triple Threat Match it'd have 3 sides (1 vs. 1 vs. 1) and so on. All matches have a stored field in the database of how many sides they have.

So I'm thinking that I could have it create 3 divs (or something) down in the competitors area of how many sides there are in the match (separated by a VS. text block) and when the user selects a character from the dropdown and adds a character the user can maybe drag and drop the character's name to whatever side they choose.

Its one idea. If you think of an EASIER more EFFICIENT way to do something like this and have an idea say something please or even if you can't let me know that you think it's a worth while idea.

Hello all.

I have a script to prompt a user for 4 pieces of information.

First name.
Last name
Area code.
& Telephone number.

My assignment was to do this, and put the information is as follows.

If both, first name & last name are entered, store in object as

last name,first name.

If only one is entered. display without the comma.

Also store telephone number in (XXX) XXX-XXXX format.

I was told to use methods to do all of these things.

Please take note I am in a VERY basic javascript class.

Do many programmers remember most of the object properties and methods or do they use IDE or references to find those specific objects.

Hi everybody!

I've a problem and I'm not able to solve it alone.

I want to invoke java methods of a self written java programm with javascript. I found something like a tutorial (http://stanislavvitvitskiy.blogspot....lications.html), but it has not worked.

I put my class file in a jar file and when I want to load it in javascript i get an error.
I tried it this way:

It takes the website URL in Javascript and I wanted it to see if there is a "story=1" id and then pass it to the IFRAME. This works in a fashion, but i was trying to make it into a function so I could find and pass other variables, but anything after an & sign and it all fails?

I was hoping to pick out variables from the top.location.ahref of "http://www.domain.com/index.php?story=1&category=2&something=3" for example?
