So here's what i want to do: i have 2 checkboxes, when Checkbox A is checked, i want to automatically check the checkbox B. When A is unchecked, then uncheck B how can i do that? thanks a lot ! Hi, If I have two check-boxes and one is already checked and then the is checked, how would I get it to uncheck the first one using JavaScript. Thanks, Cs1h All, I have the following code: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> alert("This picture has received more then 10 down votes so it is now being deleted. You will be redirected back to the pictures page!"); </script> <? echo "<meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"2;url=http://website.com/pictures.php\">"; ?> This is just in the code. I thought it would just execute this but it doesn't. I can't have it appear on a button event or an onload since this snipped gets executed with AJAX. How can I make it appear? Thanks in advance! Hi, I have this code: var finalsort="("+getvalue+","numvalue")\n" alert(finalsort) however, it is then alerted three seperate times (as it is in a for loop) but i would like this to be displayed in an alert: (david,5) (james,3) (tom,1) How would I do this, am I doing something wrong with the \n? thanks I am validating the value in a text area onBlur. If the value is not good the alert box comes up twice. Is there a way to correct this? Code: <html> <head> <meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>Untitled</title> <script type="text/javascript"> function verify_score(val1) { var temp = document.getElementById(val1) if(temp.value == "AF"|| temp.value == "HF" || (temp.value >=0 && temp.value <=17)) {return} else{ alert("Value entered is not OK. Accetable values a 0 to 17, AF or HF") temp.focus() temp.select() } } </script> </head> <body> <div id="PageDiv" style="position:relative; min-height:100%; margin:auto; width:200px"> <form name="scoresheetform" action=""> <div id="Submitbutton" style="position:absolute; left:52px; top:87px; width:110px; height:33px; z-index:1"> <input type=submit name="Submitbutton" value="Submit Form"></div> <div style="position:absolute; left:9.822px; top:37px; width:45px; height:29px; z-index:2"> <input id="HomePlayer1Rnd6Pnts" name="HomePlayer1Rnd6Pnts" onBlur="verify_score('HomePlayer1Rnd6Pnts')" size=3></div> <div style="position:absolute; left:79.822px; top:37px; width:45px; height:29px; z-index:3"> <input id="HomePlayer1Rnd7Pnts" name="HomePlayer1Rnd7Pnts" onBlur="verify_score('HomePlayer1Rnd7Pnts')" size=3></div> <div id="HomePlayer1TotalPnts" style="position:absolute; left:146px; top:37px; width:45px; height:29px; z-index:4"> <input name="HP1 Total Points" size=3></div> </form> </div> </body> </html> Hello everyone. This a css code in <head>: Code: .pagination{ width: 530px; /*Width of pagination DIV. Total width should equal slider's outer width (400+10+10=420)*/ text-align: right; background-color: white; padding: 5px 10px; } .pagination a{ padding: 0px 5px; text-decoration: none; color: #410B38; font-weight:bold; font-family:Arial; background: white; } .pagination a:hover, .pagination a.selected{ color: white; text-decoration: none; font-weight:bold; font-family:Arial; background-color: #410B38; } for a div with class=pagination (below) which contains the pagination of mysql data display: Code: <div class="pagination"> <?php $sql = "SELECT COUNT(id) FROM tablename"; $rs_result = mysql_query($sql,$mysql_connection); $row = mysql_fetch_row($rs_result); $total_records = $row[0]; $total_pages = ceil($total_records / 5); for ($i=1; $i<=$total_pages; $i++) { echo "<a href='mysqldatadisplay.php?page=".$i."'>".$i."</a>"; }; ?> </div> I want everytime someone clicks on another number in order to change page, that clicked number to have different style than the other numbers as long as one stays on that page and when one clicks on a different number I want that number to behave in the same way. Someting like highlighting the navigational item that you're on. Thank you very much in advance! I'm trying to delete a item in a list. I'm getting a method not allowed error in IE8. Code: var selectOptions = document.getElementById('id_employees_cbo'); for (var i=0; i<selectOptions.options.length; i++) { if (selectOptions.options[i].selected == true) { selectOptions.options[i].remove(); break; } } Is there another way to do this? Thanks Hi, I have a list setup with links. The list scrolls with the css setting of overflow:auto. However, when a link in the list that is scrolled down to (that is hidden unless scrolled down to) is clicked, I'd like to hold the list at that list item so that the viewer can return to the same line in the list and click the next li. Right now, the list resets to the top after a li link is clicked... I have a feeling this is something simple, but I'm guessing it would be javascript...?? The site to view - click here and then see the left side scrolling list. Thanks!! Hi Ive got my menu displayed on this site http://valkesh.000space.com. The issue I am having is that I want the hover image (red part) to be displayed only when hovering the root li, and not all subsequent li items in the menu.. because as you may see now, even when hovering the li in the submenu the red gets displayed. The code I am using is the following Code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('#smoothmenu1 li').append('<div class="hover"></div>'); $('#smoothmenu1 li').hover( function() { $(this).children('div').fadeIn('500'); }, function() { $(this).children('div').fadeOut('500'); }).click (function () { $(this).addClass('selected'); }); }); </script> and Code: <div id="smoothmenu1" class="menu"> <ul> <li><a href="#">Page 1</a></li> <li><a href="#">Page 2</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">2.1</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">2.1.1</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">2.2</a></li> <li><a href="#">2.3</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">Page 3</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">3.1</a></li> <li><a href="#">3.2</a></li> <li><a href="#">3.3</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">Page 4</a></li> </ul> </div> Is there a way to specify in the javascript functionality where to append the div to only the root li item? Thanks This function is part of a page that will delete a product that a customer has selected. The question I have is what is the line line that actually removes the item from the list of products chosen? From my understanding, in order to establish an array, new array = elements[i] has to be added but Im thinking that elements[i] is the array that holds the product. Does the "0" in this line actually delete the item? document.template.elements[i].value = 0 ; Code: function del_item(X,msg) { // var msg = "Are you sure you want to delete this line item?" resp = confirm("Are you sure you want to " + msg + "?") ; if (resp) { var len = document.template.elements.length //loop to put into arrays for (var i = 0; i < len; i++) { var lname = document.template.elements[i].name ; if(lname == X) { document.template.elements[i].value = 0 ; process_order(0) ; document.template.loginpath.value = "CO" ; document.template.submit() ; } } } else { return ; } } i need the system to think its getting an alert without actualy presenting an alert on the page. i found this but i guess i dont really understand how it works Code: function foo() { doSomething(); fakeAlert("Alert! Alert!", doSomethingAfterTheAlertIsCleared); } i hate to have to do hacks to get something to work but for some reason my simple js will not work without an alert Code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function process_acount() { alert("about to send data"); document.bbautoreg.submit(); } // --> </script> it works perfectly with the alert and the comment if i remove the alert, it wont work, if i remove the <!-- it wont work, if i have the alert without the comment <!-- it wont work. i thought maybe there might be something wrong with the js interpreter i even changed it from html to php using echo for the js and still the same unless i can get this to work i will have no other choice but to use a fake alert why would having an alert make a dif anyway, seems to me thats just crazy, that itself should have no bearing on if it executes or not. Anyone know why that would matter. <html> <head> Filename: oae.htm Supporting files: figa.jpg, figb.jpg, figc.jpg, figd.jpg, figures.jpg, functions.js, oae.jpg, quiz.css --> <title>Online Aptitude Quiz: Page</title> <link href="quiz.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="functions.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var seconds = 0; var clockId; var quizclock; function runClock() { seconds++; quizclock = seconds; document.quiz.quizclock.value = seconds; } function startClock() {showQuiz(); clockId = setInterval("runClock()",1000); } var timer; function stopClock() { clearInterval(runClock); var correctAns = gradeQuiz(); alert("You have Code: correctAns correct of 5 in Code: timer seconds."); } </script> </head> <body> <form id="quiz" name="quiz" action=""> <div id="header"> <p><img src="oae.jpg" alt="Online Aptitude Exam" /> <span>Grunwald Testing, Inc.</span><br /> 1101 Science Drive<br /> Oakdale, CA 88191 </p> </div> <div id="intro"> <p>This is a timed quiz of intelligence and perception.
