JavaScript - Opening Browser Window Relative To Currently Open Window

Ive found out how to force another browser window to open at a certain size when a link is clicked. Now the client wants to make the calendar fixed when the user scrolls so that it always stays on screen. The most graceful solution is using css position:fixed (I'm aware it doesn't work in IE6 - that's not a problem) I've been using the getAnchorWindowPosition function to get the coordinates but the numbers its giving are wrong (to different degrees depending on the browser) It was only 200px out in the Y axis in Firefox but in IE7&8 its off the screen. I found a free script for a auto-advancing slideshow that allows you to give each image in the slideshow a unique link. My problem is that when you click on one of the pictures the link opens in a new window instead of loading in the default browser window. fooling around with it, I think I have determined that my problem is the window.open in the function gotoshow, but again, I'm a designer who has little knowledge of how this actually works. I am using a window.open to trigger a mailto: command. I don't want the window to stay open so I try to close it right after. So currently, this code behaves like this. Every 3 seconds, it opens up a new website. However this code I wrote opens google.com in a new window, then yahoo.com in a new window and so on. I want it to open all the websites in the same window. How do I achieve this? Hey Guys, I feel like a complete idiot posting this, but I clearly am missing something.
