JavaScript - Javascript Autosuggest Field Based On Bd Table Content
Hi Guys,
i am wondering if there is a way to have an auto Complete form field from a db table data ? thanks Similar TutorialsI have a form that has a pretty complicated combo box - a user starts typing text, it queries a database for matches, and displays the results to the user. The user can then select the match they desire and it has a value id, which I am currently sending to a hidden field in the form. So, for example: user starts typing in a movie name, Seven - it returns Seven and user selects it. The form submits the id of the movie seven (say 12) to a hidden field. Where I am stumped: Once a user selects a movie title, I have another drop down select box that is to display the available formats of the movie by querying my database based on the product id (12) and returning the available formats in the list: DVD BLUERAY VHS I am pretty good at programming, but I cannot figure this out - how to make the select box fire and return results once the value for the textbox has been captured. Can anyone help me? Hi, I'm using javascript in addition to a web service (BTBuckets) to display different content to visitors based on actions they take on my site. The javascript is working fine, but I noticed that if I simulate BTBuckets being disabled using Firefox Adblock none of the content shows up. So in the off chance of the service going offline it'll leave some pretty funky holes in the my content. I tried tags which works with javascript off, but the content is still blank when I disable BTBuckets. I'm wondering if there's a way to display the default content if the service is unavailable? Here's the code I'm using: In the head: Code: The code in the body used to replace an image depending on visitor behavior: Code: I have a text field, call it income, that when the input is > 0 I need to dynamically show the next text box, and if it is blank hide the next text box. I would like to use onBlur but can't seem to get it to work. Can I do this? Help I have two drop down fields. When I select any value in the first drop down i want the second dropdown to automatically populate the value related to the first one. For e.g i have the first field as name and the second field as measured in. If I select 'Potato' in the first dropdown then the second drop down should populate 'kg'. Please help.
Hi Experts, I have designed an online registration system for a non profit in ASP/SQL. After the members register for classes they are automatically redirected to an invoice page with class fees. At the bottom of the page I have a Total Fees field of all the classes. The member is supposed to pay this amount to our organization. Question: We decided to do an online payment this year and would like to calculate a 2% additional amount on the Total Fees. This amount is paid to the Payment Merchant site. We cannot afford to lose the 2% since we are a non profit. Would really appreciate if someone can tell me how to 1) Add a new field under the Total field 2) And calculate the 2% additional fees and do a Grand Total. Thanks in advance. I am trying to calculate age based on the date of birth input into a text field. the date field should allow users to enter a one or two digit month, one or two digit date and a two or four digit year. Users should be able to enter any of the following date formats: 11-2-10, 1-25-2010, or 01/25/2010. On some days it works and others it wont, like 11-1-91 returns that the user is under 18. Code: function checkAge(){ var stDate = document.getElementById("birth").value; var dayPartToDate = parseInt(stDate.substring(0,2),10); var monPartToDate = parseInt(stDate.substring(3,5),10); var yearPartToDate = parseInt(stDate.substring(6,10),10); var dtTo = new Date(yearPartToDate, monPartToDate-1, dayPartToDate); var mydate = new Date(); mydate.setDate(mydate.getDate()); var bday = dtTo - mydate if (bday < 18){ window.alert("You must be 18 to rent equipment."); document.getElementById("birth").value = ""; } } hiiii, im new to javascripts . Can anyone help me to know that a javascript which is validating a phone number accepts only digits but if the text field is left empty it should accept the entry as an empty entry.... plz share knowledge u will be more knowledgeable Here is what I'm envisioning: The user selects a state, then in the 'Cities' box, he starts typing the name of his city. However, it autocompletes the name for him based on the state he chose. So if he chose California and started typing in "Los Angeles", it would autocomplete "Los Angeles" for him. Does that make sense? Is there a script out there that can do this? Hi All, I have a form that captures member registration details. In the admin section .. I would like to change the Status field of a record/s from NEW to PAYMENT DUE after 14 days from the data of submission. The status change should automatically trigger on the 15th day. So when the admin checks the list page he/she should be able to view the updated status field. Any pointers how to accomplish this? Thanks in advance. Vinny Hi, Is there anyone who could help me figure out how to Change a Hidden Fields Name based on selected option. The hidden fields name is sent off and I need to change the name depending on what option they select. For if they select MyList the hidden field name needs to be SelectLists[40] or if they select testlist the hidden field name needs to be SelectLists[41]. This is probably way, way off but I've done this and it doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. MyList testlist testlist2 Hi, I know this is a very bad idea, but I need to do it just to prove a point. I was wondering if it is possible to remove content from a website based on the screen resolution, rather than have to redirect to a new URL. For example: Code: <if height greater than 800px> Lots of code <else>
</if> Thank you For various reasons, I need the value of my drop down box options to contain size information rather than price. However I would like to be able to calculate a price for the items based on what size the user selects as well as the quantity. Below is the code I came up with (which doesn't work obviously) What can I do to get this to work for me? Thanks in advance for any help! Code:

T-Shirt: CHOOSE A SIZE Small, 34/36 (S) Medium, 38/40 (M) Large, 42/44 (L) QTY: Price:
Hi Guys, Im in need of some help with regards to forms. I am looking to build as basic as possible, a form that has 3 select dropdowns that have predetermined options. The user will select the first option and based on that option the second will populate and based on that, the third one will give the last option. Now, when the last one is selected, i need a div or a paragraph displaying information to be displayed. So here's the framework. Option 1 = fruit or vegitables of which fruit is selected is selected by the user Option 2 = Apples, Grapes, and pears of which apples is then selected Option 3 = Red, Green and Yellow of which Green is selected. Once green is selected, I need a description about the green aple to be displayed. Can anyone help me out on this? I am not sure where to begin and my boss is adament it must be done like yesterday. Ay help will be appreciated. Thanks. I am having trouble writing this javascript for my work, normally I would do this in ASP or PHP, but the environment I am working with will only allow javascript for dynamic function. The form has two different select boxes and based on your options selected for select box #1 and select box #2, the hidden input field "redirect" (which is currently empty) would then populate dynamically with the URL associated with that combination mentioned below. The hidden redirect input field (now containing dyanmically generated data) would then pass the new value via HTTP_POST to .net script that will handle the redirect processing step fed to it. Here are the mappings: If selections = Elementary & Vocabulary = http://www.widget.com/content/elem-vocab If selections = Elementary & Writing = http://www.widget.com/content/elem-writing If selections = Elementary & ELD = http://www.widget.com/content/elem-eld If selections = Middle School & Vocabulary = http://www.widget.com/content/midscl-vocab If selections = Middle School & Writing = http://www.widget.com/content/midscl-writing If selections = Middle School & ELD = http://www.widget.com/content/midscl-eld If selections = High School & Vocabulary = http://www.widget.com/content/hiscl-vocab If selections = High School & Writing = http://www.widget.com/content/hiscl-writing If selections = High School & ELD = http://www.widget.com/content/hiscl-eld Here's a snippet of a different method that I tried, but it did not work. I think the above mentioned method would probably be best. Code:

Grade:

  Elementary Middle School High School

Solution:

Vocabulary Writing ELD Hi there...I have an autosuggest that I got from a friend. I'd like a page that displays live data to a user with Internet connectivity (I can do this) but display "canned" data when the user is without an internet connection...and this difference in page display is transparent to the user. I know this can be done with php but the user without Internet connectivity will likely not be able to run php locally so the page must be an .htm file. I there a javascript somewhere that does this?Any help is greatly appreciated.
