JavaScript - Processing Cookies
I am trying to prompt user to enter a name into a form, then save it as a cookie and display it in a sentence at the end. Enter - John -> cookie -> Hello John or something like that...

The code seems to be ok for the most part, but I get something like that when I test it on every line with window.alert cNam%3Djohn; mediaWiki.user.bucket:ext.articleFeedback-tracking=8%3Aignorel mediaWiki.user.bucket:ext.articleFeedback-options=8%3Ashow; wp-settings-time-1=1318110074;wp-settings-1=editor%3Dtinymce The first line is ok, but I am not sure about the remaining ones. Does anybody knows what is it and how to get rid of that? PS: The first function works, the second one seems to be splitting everything ok etc, it is just these 3 lines that I need to get rid of and I am not sure what it is too (prompt entry "john", I wanna get to "Welcome john" with functions that I already have) Similar TutorialsI use AJAX approach handling inputs from user. In my test code simplified from production code, there is a table with two cells. First cell has a form in it and the second cell has a button in it. OnClick is used to specify the javascript function. Every time when the button is clicked, a table of parts is shown 100%. When I click the Submit button, it just seems to executing the test code again. It doesn't even show the message I added for testing. I have to admit I don't know form much. I'm not very sure I coded the onclick() parameter the right way. I think the problem is in using the form the correct way. Can you help me to isolate the problem? Is there a way when you use the window.open to not display the Internet Explorer pop up box that say the file can not be found when the file does not exist? Below is a small example of the code. I want to supress the message when new.pdf does not exist and go directly to opening the old copy of the file. But, what I'd like to do is divide the list into categories. To do this, I'd need to append the text attribute value of the parent node to each of the child nodes under the parent node, and in the process, tell it to push the text attribute values of the childnodes if they exist, and of the parentnodes if they do not have childnodes. Hi everyone, I have been trawling for useful info for a few hours and still have no definitive answer. There is plenty of info about creating server side javascript which can use php/asp to pull in xml etc and process but there is nothing I could find identifying how to do the same thing but with the javascript being client side only, e.g chrome plugin code. From what I currently understand, javascript client side only cannot reach or ask for any services externally. Am I missing something obvious or just trying to do something impossible? I am hitting a brick wall, dont know what to do? Hi all, I need some help. I have a javascript thing on my site that changes the css layout from standard to alternate, and that works fine. Now I am wondering if it's possible for it to store a cookie, that when any of the pages on my site (this javascript thing is on every page) are re-loaded or the user navigates to a different page, it will keep the alternate stylesheet. Then, when it is changed back, the cookie gets deleted. Hi and hope someone can help. I'm setting up a fictitious shopping page which uses cookies to remember what a user has selected. The products are photographs that the user can select either framed or unframed versions and I'm trying to put a confirmation box if the user actually requests framed and unframed versions of the same photograph. The code I'm using actually worked before I tried to add this extra functionality but I can't work out how to test for this extra bit. Here's my code and it sets cookies with names as either lulworth01 for the unframed version or lulworth01f for the framed version.
