JavaScript - How To Load A Custom Stylesheet For 2 Useragents?
I have two user agent strings:

I have stripped the code down to the following which seems to be where it fails in IE8. The “normal” stylesheet is the same as “default”. Without this older versions of IE go straight to “large” (without javascript). For these settings, all browsers display the default (or normal?) stylesheet without the script. When the script is run Firefox, Opera and older versions of IE will use the “default” stylesheet combined with the “large” stylesheet. IE8 uses only the “default” and ignores “large”. It doesn’t appear to matter where in the page the script is run. Any suggestions appreciated (it has never worked in Safari, Chrome and older versions of Opera if that helps!). I have a stylesheet switcher which works fine in all mainstream browsers until Safari 5.1 and possibly a past version of Chrome. The source of the problem appears to be in WebKit version 534. (or perhaps it may be the case that it will only allow one active stylesheet, the default?) I have alternative code I can deliver to switch the stylesheet but it is more onerous and I only want to run it if the usual method would fail. Is there a way I could test if the browser is respecting "a.disabled = false" (or "true" for that matter) and then deliver the alternative code if not? It works fine in all browsers except ie(6,7,8) Code: Internet Explorer can not open website. Operation Aborted. I understand it is caused by the jquery autocomplete function loading before the page / DOM has fully loaded. I tried adding Defer="true" to the script however this doesn't seem to work. I already have a sort function that but wish to provide my users with the ability to specify custom sorts - days of the week, months etc. Assuming that I have a function that will return day of week (ie 'Mon' = 0, "Tue" = 1, "Wed" = 2 ... etc) can anyone show me how I would incorporate this into a sort routine? Can anyone help me out in assigning more then one character? Multple characters work when going english to my custom assignments but it cant translate back from my custom assignments to english. This calls some of Extendscript's built-in functions, like app.settings.haveSetting() This all works fine - I can then later access mySetting's value with, for example alert(mySetting.value) since I've defined value as part of the class constructor function. However what I'd ideally like to do, if at all possible is to lose the .value part and just be able to access the setting value directly from the setting variable, so in this case alert(mySetting). At the moment, this will just return object Object. Naturally this is because mySetting is an instance of the ScriptSetting object. But I wondered if you can spoof this with a different type (i.e. Array or Number) when accessing it as part of a statement e.g. if(mySetting == 200) { // do something } but still retain all its prototyped methods, e.g. Code: mySetting = 300; mySetting.saveSetting(); Is this possible in Javascript? I am building a custom slideshow that is pulling data from an xml sheet to create each "Slide" each slide consists of several elements on the xml sheet. I have javascript currently putting together the correct information and creating a new div for each "slide". What I need is to display the first div(slide) and then hit a next button to get to display the next div(slide). Below the first set of code is a snapshot of code simply to illustrate that it is creating the correct divs. Those divs all have content in them I just took the code from firebug. Im currently running out of ideas of how else to attack this. This page will be navigated to by clicking on a thumbnail that will then open that particular element. How do I also get it to open to the correct element in the xml sheet. PLEASE HELP |
