JavaScript - Web Page Template Change Using Js
Beginner to intermediate JS coder.
Question: Is there a possible way to create a js function that will change a web page template and have the duration change every 4 months? This means that all pages corresponding to the template being used will change with the template? I have 4 page designs and would like to implement the different designs every 4 months but would like to create a script that will automatically do this instead of having to manually go in and change every page to match the template desired. Thoughts? Hey everyone, I'm making a bit of a weird site on a server with no php, mysql etc. To save me work, I've included the header and footer using AJAX but would like to change the relevant nav bar image to the rollover image if the visitor is on that page. Thanks so much for any help at all. Is it possible to change the URL when a page refreshes? E.G Someone clicks a link on index.php to page1.php. When you refresh page1.php it actually loads page2.php The reason i ask my site uses AJAX to change pages (therefore doesnt refresh and stays on the index.php page). How do i set a page element as a variable and change it? Ive googled the internet like crazy for an answer for this, but couldnt find it. Im trying to create an animation. It somehow conflicts with the slider.js I think. I'll post the HTML and the slider.js in the next two replies. Will you check it out and help me find the fault? Thanks One my website its one index page, putting in content depending on the link (ie ?page=xxxxx) and from that it generats the page name, (Page name - MySite). I also have an AJAX search form working on keyup (kinda like google autosearch). I want it so when i start typing there it changes the title to Search - MySite. Then when its empty revert to what ever it was before. Could someone gimmie a hand doing this? I already have the AJAX coding for the search bar so i can post that if iy would help more. EDIT: Also i need to check if its on the homepage or not, and if not load the homepage (currently done by php include), does javascript have an equivelant of php's include? I'm writing a calculator script that will need user input (how much they pay on internet, phone or cable bill) and then multiply those numbers by a known rate and then show the customer the new number. I have the math setup (working right now), and the script works to spit out the answers in an alert. Instead of the alert (which is the only thing I can do correctly at this point), I need the script to give the answers for each bill and then a total answer at the bottom. The problem only shows further down the page, when I click to open a box it automatically goes back to the top of the page instead of staying at the user's current page position I would like it to stop changing the page position onclick. Any help would be much appreciated! Hi all, On my website I've got a simple animated .gif I want to play each time someone clicks a link on the menu bar. The problem is that while the image changes successfully, the webpage changes too quickly so the animated.gif won't play. I'm assuming this has something to do with setTimeout though I'm too much of a noob at Java to get this right. Currently the flash piece just calls on javascript functions. I want the buttons in the flash piece to be able to change the src of the iframe. In the flash piece when a button is hit, it calls openVideo() which "opens" the iframe and I want it to change the contents to address. This does not work though. It opens the frame but will not change the src. I've tried a bunch of different things now such as make the flash target the iframe using navigateToURL(request1, 'video'); but in Firefox and IE is opens it stills as if I had _blank in there. It does strangely work in Safari. Any ideas how to get this to work? I'm new to javascript so it could be something basic I'm overlooking I tried to word the question as best as possible, but here is what I want to do. I am creating a calculator online and it is getting more and more extensive, which is good b/c I'm learning a lot. Here is what I'm trying accomplish now. I am using "input" to get information from the user in the top section of my calculator and that will always stay the same. The part that will change is the results section (bottom part of the calc) based on a few different variations or setups, so I want to be able have them click on a few different options. Option 1 Option 2 Option 3 Depending on which one they click I want the javascript that is run for the results section to correspond to the option chosen. I also, want to be able to have a default option displayed the first time the page is loaded and then have it change if a different option is chosen. I don't think reloading the page is necessary, but I'm new to this and could use a little direction. I hope what I'd like to do makes a little sense. I'm not asking for any code written that will do this, but naturally something hints or tips that could get me going. I don't know how to "monitor" a link and return a value to a variable, so that it can be put into a an if statement in the results section. After that, it would be continually monitored or somehow restarted if the variable does change. Again, I don't know if this is the best way to go at it, but I'm not sure at all. When my code hits line 80, the height of a div tag is increased to make room for expanding content, so that the new content does not overlap already existing content. When the div tag's height increases, this increases the overall page height. When the page height increases, then the scroll bar stays in the same place, but the page position changes in the browser. Is there anyway to prevent the viewer's position from changing when room is made for the expanding content?
