JavaScript - Redirect On Select With Javascript For Paypal Form
Hi all, I'm new here and need some help. I don't know Javascript at all.
I have a paypal form that looks like this: Code: <FORM action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="VMMCF6CUGBPAN"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="on0" value="DATA">DATA<BR> <SELECT name="os0"> <OPTION value="250" selected="selected">DATA</OPTION> <OPTION value="400">DATA</OPTION> <OPTION value="1000">DATA</OPTION> </SELECT> <INPUT type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD"> <BR> <INPUT type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!"><IMG alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"> </FORM> This form works perfectly with my system now. I'm trying to add one fourth option that will redirect to another page, but I'm not sure if changing the name of the select will break the paypal transaction. So I tried this solution: Code: <FORM action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="VMMCF6CUGBPAN"> <INPUT type="hidden" name="URL" value="DATA">DATA<BR> <SELECT name="URL" onchange="window.location.href= this.form.URL.options[this.form.URL.selectedIndex].value"> <OPTION value="250" selected="selected">DATA</OPTION> <OPTION value="500">500 Words</OPTION> <OPTION value="1000">1000 Words</OPTION> <OPTION value="project.html">1000+ Words</OPTION> </SELECT> <INPUT type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD"> <BR> <br> <INPUT type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!"><IMG alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"> </FORM> It works great if I select the fourth option with a internal url in it. But if I choose one of the other options it tries to dynamically change to a page "250", "500", or "1000" and they don't exist. Also, I'm not sure if changing the select name or the option value will break the transaction with paypal. What I'd like the form to do is nothing on all options except the fourth; which is a redirect. The first, second, and third option require the used to click a paypal buy now button. Can't I just take this... Code: onchange="window.location.href= this.form.URL.options[this.form.URL.selectedIndex].value" ...put it in the option tag and change it to onSelect or something? This is as far as I can go. I copied the code and altered it. Can anyone here help please? Similar TutorialsHi, I have three buttons on my site. When a button is clicked it pulls down a javascript pop up questionaire box. When the person closes the box they're redirected to Paypal depending on which button they clicked, hence the 3 if else options toward the end of this script. How might the following code be rewritten so that the pop up box no longer exists, but so the options still function and redirect correctly to Paypal? Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function popup(option){ Modalbox.show('<div><p>How did you learn about Dinosaur Pop?</p> <textarea id="message" name="message" rows="4" cols="30"></textarea><br><br><input type="button" value="Send" onclick="Modalbox.hide(); redirect(' + option + ');" /> or <input type="button" value="No, leave it!" onclick="Modalbox.hide(); redirect(' + option + ');" /></div>', {title: "Question", width: 300}); return false; } function redirect(option) { var messageObj = document.getElementById("message"); if (messageObj != null && messageObj.value != "") { var url = 'submit_message.php?message=' + encodeURIComponent(messageObj.value); new Ajax.Request(url, { method: 'get', onSuccess: function(transport) { } }) } if (option == 1) document._xclick.submit(); else if (option == 2) document._xclick1.submit(); else if (option == 3) window.location = "download/Dinosaur Pop Book.pdf"; } </script> I am trying to do a custom add to cart to use with paypal and need to utilize javascript to achieve inserting some code or a weight value per the paypal forms' options choice. Here is my dilemma, All of my items have multiple weights, for instance the below example called Aqua Max 100 comes in .5lbs, 1.5lbs., 10lbs., 20lbs., and 50lbs. Paypal allows you to enter weight but it's one weight per item and I would have to create 5 Paypal buttons just for this one item to calculate the different weights per zip code. I need help making javascript insert the following code within the paypal forms' code upon option select before clicking submit? <input type="hidden" name="weight" value=".5"> <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> <input type="hidden" name="weight" value="1.5"> <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> <input type="hidden" name="weight" value="10 <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> <input type="hidden" name="weight" value="20 <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> <input type="hidden" name="weight" value="50 <input type="hidden" name="weight_unit" value="lbs"> The code I came up with is wrong as I'm getting an error but I was originally trying to make it enter a weight using a hidden fillable number and without any real javascript training, just alot of googling but I think I'm pretty close. Please take a look at the code I've came up with so far and maybe point me in the correct direction: <html> <body> <form target="paypal" action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_cart"> <input type="hidden" name="business" value="test@test.com"> <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD"> <input type='hidden'text' name='amt' id='amt' value="0.00"/> <table> <tr> <td> <input type="text" name="on0" value="Aqua Max 100">Aqua Max 100</td></tr> <tr><td> <select name="os0" onChange="getamt()"> <option value="select">Please Select</option> <option value="1/2 lb.">1/2 lb. $3.99 USD</option> <option value="1 - 1/2 lbs">1 - 1/2 lbs $7.59 USD</option> <option value="10 lbs.">10 lbs. $25.80 USD</option> <option value="20 lbs.">20 lbs. $42.75 USD</option> <option value="50 lbs.">50 lbs. $86.20 USD</option> </select></td></tr> </table> <script type="text/javascript"> function getamt() { var sh=0; var choice = document.getElementById("os0").selectedIndex; if (choice == 0) { sh=0; } if (choice == 1) { sh=.5; } if (choice == 2) { sh=1.5; } if (choice == 3) { sh=10; } if (choice == 4) { sh=20 } if (choice == 5) { sh=50.00; } document.getElementById("on0").value=sh; } </script> <input type="image" src="https://images.paypal.com/images/sc-but-03.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!" /> <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"> </form> </body> </html> I have a web page created using plsql web toolkit. hi everyone, this is my 1st post here in this community forum, just would like to say "HI" to everyone. i would like to share with you my experience in developing multiple dependency selection form developed in java script, how this script works is that when 1st selection is selected, based on the value the user select, a second level selection will appear and so on. below is the Java-script code along with my form code too Javascript: <script type="text/javascript"> function nextSelect(o) { if (o.value == '0') { var next = o.nextSibling; while (next && next.nodeName != 'SELECT') { next = next.nextSibling; } next.length = 0; return; } var d = document; var useSelect = d.getElementById(o.name + '_' + o.value); if (!useSelect) { alert('Unknown id: ' + o.name + '_' + o.value); return; } var copy = useSelect.cloneNode(true); copy.style.display = 'inline'; var next = o.nextSibling; while (next && next.nodeName != 'SELECT') { next = next.nextSibling; } next.parentNode.insertBefore(copy, next); next.parentNode.removeChild(next); } </script> my form: <div style="display: none;"> <!-- ##### First Selection ####### --> <select name="second" id="first_dp" onchange="nextSelect(this);"> <option value="0">Choose</option> <option value="dp_2_38">2 3/8'</option> <option value="dp_4">4'</option> </select> <select name="second" id="first_hw" onchange="nextSelect(this);"> <option value="0">Choose</option> <option value="hw_3_12">3 1/2'</option> <option value="hw_4">4'</option> </select> <!-- ####### 2nd Selection ####### --> <select name="third" id="second_dp_2_38" onchange="nextSelect(this);"> <option value="0">Choose</option> <option value="dp_2_38_4.85">4.85 lbs/ft</option> <option value="dp_2_38_6.65">6.65 lbs/ft</option> </select> <select name="third" id="second_dp_2_78" onchange="nextSelect(this);"> <option value="0">Choose</option> <option value="dp_2_78_6.85">6.85 lbs/ft</option> <option value="dp_2_78_10.4">10.4 lbs/ft</option> </select> >>>>>>and so on till 3rd selection<<<<<<<<< </div> <form action="pdfHandle.php" method="post" id="pdfsearch"> <fieldset> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td width="142" height="146"> <p> Type:<br /> Size:<br /> Weight:<br /> </td> <td width="266"><select name="first" onclick="nextSelect(this);"> <option value="0">Choose</option> <option value="dp">Drill Pipe</option> <option value="hw">Heavy Weight</option> </select><br/> <select name="select"> </select> <br/> <select name="select"> </select> <br/> <select name="select"> </select> </td> </tr> </table> <p> <input type="submit" name="submit" id="submit" value="Create PDF" /> <input type="reset" value="Reset Selection" /> </p> </fieldset> </form> ----------------------------------------------------------------------- i would like to know what i am missing here and what is making Safari n chrome not to run this page properly, when u execute this code, only the 1st selection will appear while the rest of the selections are Null, i hope someone will guide me through this or direct me to solution or any other way of doing this perhaps i thank you for viewing this post. Hello. Could anyone help me with this? I understand how to use OnChange with select boxes to allow the page to be redirected when certain options are selected, such as; Code: <select onchange="window.open(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value,'_top')"> <option value="">Choose a destination...</option> <option value="http://www.yahoo.com/">YAHOO</option> <option value="http://www.google.com/">GOOGLE</option> <option value="http://www.altavista.com/">ALTAVISTA</option> <option value="http://www.amazon.com/">AMAZON</option> <option value="http://artlung.com/">ARTLUNG</option> </select> However, I would like the page to only be redirected when just one option (out of 3) are chosen... and when the other two are chosen, we remain on the same page. such as; Code: <select onchange="window.open(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value,'_top')"> <option value="">Choose an option...</option> <option value="tonight">TONIGHT</option> <option value="tomorrow">TOMORROW</option> <option value="http://mysite.com/selectdate">SELECT DATE</option> </select> is this possible? Many Thanks, Patrick. Hi Guys I have a existing Java script that passes payments to Paypal, i now need it changing but have not got a clue about Java, so im looking for some help. would be really gratfull if anyone could help Hey guys, I need some help with my website I am making, I have gotten into reading over javascript to try to learn but I am probably far from being able to do anything. If someone wouldnt mind helping that would be great. This is what I am trying to do. here is a sample page of what the code needs to go along with- yes please excuse the crappy coding of HTML and what not. http://decaldude.net/honda.html i am using paypals add to cart buttons. the problem with them is that they only allow you to specify a single price for an item. the two drop down boxes you see have options that can change the cost of that item. so basically what i need is some javascript that looks at the options chosen and based on what is selected, modify the price that is sent to paypal. so yeah would be great if someone could help. dont want to ask too much but if someone else wanted to make it display that change in price where i have the price listed that would be awesome. yeah i make decals so if anyone wants to help out and wants a custom sticker made for them just lemme know. I am having trouble writing this javascript for my work, normally I would do this in ASP or PHP, but the environment I am working with will only allow javascript for dynamic function. The form has two different select boxes and based on your options selected for select box #1 and select box #2, the hidden input field "redirect" (which is currently empty) would then populate dynamically with the URL associated with that combination mentioned below. The hidden redirect input field (now containing dyanmically generated data) would then pass the new value via HTTP_POST to .net script that will handle the redirect processing step fed to it. Here are the mappings: If selections = Elementary & Vocabulary = http://www.widget.com/content/elem-vocab If selections = Elementary & Writing = http://www.widget.com/content/elem-writing If selections = Elementary & ELD = http://www.widget.com/content/elem-eld If selections = Middle School & Vocabulary = http://www.widget.com/content/midscl-vocab If selections = Middle School & Writing = http://www.widget.com/content/midscl-writing If selections = Middle School & ELD = http://www.widget.com/content/midscl-eld If selections = High School & Vocabulary = http://www.widget.com/content/hiscl-vocab If selections = High School & Writing = http://www.widget.com/content/hiscl-writing If selections = High School & ELD = http://www.widget.com/content/hiscl-eld Here's a snippet of a different method that I tried, but it did not work. I think the above mentioned method would probably be best. Code: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> <!-- function build() { document.fillgaps.redirect.value = "http://www.widget.com/content/" + document.fillgaps.grade.value + "-" + document.fillgaps.solution.value ; //print example: http://www.widget.com/content/ELM-VOC return true; } --> </script> <form name="fillgaps" action="http://www.widget.com/submit.aspx" method="post" onSubmit="return build();"> <input type="hidden" name="redirect" value=""> <table class="elqFormTable" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="2"> <tr> <td valign="top">Grade:</td> <td> <select name="grade"> <option value="ELM">Elementary</option> <option value="MID">Middle School</option> <option value="HIG">High School</option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr > <td valign="top">Solution:</td> <td> <select name="solution"> <option value="VOC">Vocabulary</option> <option value="WRI">Writing</option> <option value="ELD">ELD</option> </select> <!--truncated code --> Ok so I'm making this form which when a selection is made in one box it will run through the javascript(function getMgmtHours), and update the div(mgmthours). Then another box shows up allowing another selection to be made which runs through the javascript(function getDays) and updates another div(mgmtdate). My problem is that when I use the second box to run through javascript, it overwrites what shows up in the first div (mgmthours) when it should be updating a different div (mgmtdate). Any ideas what I can do to get it update the relevant div and not overwrite the other one? Here is part of the javascript I have in my page head: Code: function getMgmtHours(str) { if (str=="") { document.getElementById("mgmthours").innerHTML=""; return; } if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { // code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200) { document.getElementById("mgmthours").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; } } xmlhttp.open("GET","getmgmthours.php?dist="+str,true); xmlhttp.send(); } function getDays(str) { if (str=="") { document.getElementById("mgmtdate").innerHTML=""; return; } if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { // code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200) { document.getElementById("mgmtdate").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; } } xmlhttp.open("GET","getdates.php?sunday="+str,true); xmlhttp.send(); } Here is the HTML/PHP portion being used: PHP Code: echo "<p>"; echo "Submit hours:"; echo "<form>"; echo "<select name='district' onchange='getMgmtHours(this.value)'>"; echo "<option value=''>Select a district:</option> <option value='1'>1</option> <option value='3'>3</option> <option value='4'>4</option>"; echo "</select>"; echo "</form>"; echo "</p>" echo "<p>"; echo "<form action='./hours.php' method='post' onSubmit='return checkMgmtHours'>"; echo "Weekending Day: "; echo "<select name='weekending' onchange='getDays(this.value)'>"; echo "<option value=''>Choose a Date:</option>"; while ($week < 32) { $nextsunday = strtotime("next Sunday"); if ($week > 0) { $timestamp = strtotime("-" . $week . " week", $nextsunday); } else { $timestamp = $nextsunday;} $weekending = date('M. d, Y', $timestamp); echo "<option value='" . $weekending . "'>" . $weekending . "</option>"; $week = $week + 1; } echo "</select>"; echo "<div id='mgmtdate' />"; echo "<div id='mgmthours' />"; echo "</p>"; Edit: Also, after getMgmtHours() runs, I can still use both getDays and getMgmtHours, howeer once I used getDays, I am no longer able to use getMgmtHours w/o refreshing the page. I'm trying to figure out how to use an javascript function to redirect without using <body onload>. Normally I use this: Code: <META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" Content="0; URL=ajax.php?page=mypage"> But since I'm using ajax, and only want to redirect tha ajax part, the above can not be used... When I have a hyperlink to go to a page in ajax it looks like this: Code: <a href="#" onclick="load('ajax.php?page=mypage','contentarea');return false;"> Is there anyway that I can have the ajax part set into the META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" or is there an other way to do this? Hi, I want to redirect pages e,g 'http://mydomain.com/pagename.html' to 'http://www.mydomain.com/pagename.html",i.e if anyone access without www then it will be added automatically, how can i do this using javascript? plz help Thanks Hey there world. I'm not one for making my own scripts, so not quite sure about the best way to go about doing this. I've got a form with 2 different sets of radio buttons. Upon submitting, I'd like to redirect the user to a certain page, based on the selections they made among the radio buttons. Thanks in advance. I have a simple javascript for validating the radio buttons. But for what ever reason window.location does not redirect. this is my code: <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> function checkRadio (frmName, rbGroupName) { var radios = document[frmName].elements[rbGroupName]; for (var i=0; i <radios.length; i++) { if (radios[i].checked) { return true; } } return false; } function valFrm() { if ( checkRadio("frm1","radio1")==true && checkRadio("frm1","radio2")==true) window.location="price.jsp"; else alert("You didnt select any price"); } </script> when i replace an alert with the redirect line it works fine. any help would be appreciated. Hi, I am very new to Javascript but have found a great tutorial to create a dynamic dropdown menu. I got it to work, but have problems redirecting it to the correct page after the necessary page refresh to load the items in the 2nd dropdown menu. The Javascript in the header is the following: Code: <SCRIPT language=JavaScript> function reload(form){ var val=form.cat.options[form.cat.options.selectedIndex].value; self.location='index.php?cat=' + val ;} </script> My PHP controller (index.php) code to load the correct frames is as follows: Code: <ul id="navbar"> <li><a href="index.php?id=home">Home</a></li> <li><a href="index.php?id=overview">Overview</a></li> <li><a href="index.php?id=add">Add new product</a></li> </ul> Code: if(isset($_GET['cat'])){ include ('add.html.php');} else { switch($_GET['id']) { default: include('home.html.php'); break; case "home": include('home.html.php'); break; case "overview": include('add.html.php'); break; case "add": include('add.html.php'); } } So I have made a workaround to load the "add.html.php" frame with the if(isset)$_GET['cat']. But what I really would like to do is to change the Javascript self.location to Code: self.location='index.php?id=add?cat=' + val ;} so that the PHP index script loads the add.html.php automatically. However, when changing the self.location as described above the page is redirected to home.html.php. It is really annoying, I have googled for a full day but haven't found a solution yet. Maybe someone can tell me how I can easily load the correct frame by using Javascript? Many thanks in advance!! hey guys. i need a js code that redirects to a flash page or to a non flash page after detecting the browsers plugin abilities and if it has flash or not. any help would be appriciated. cheers This has been driving me crazy all day, cant seem to work out what im doing wrong.
