JavaScript - Loading External Pages In Lightbox?
Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to load external pages (from a different server) into a lightbox, without using a iframe. Any solutions for this? Thanks a lot in advance! Kind regards, Robbert Similar TutorialsHi anyone knows a lightbox that can be called like this? Code: <img src="imgs/edit.png" border="0" onclick="lightbox.open( 'test.php' ,'test');" style="cursor : pointer;"> or modify slimbox to work with iframe? sorry for bad english Thanks Hi, well i have a issue with lightbox like stuff that i am using here http://www.bloghuts.com/2010/11/13-days-in-hell.html If you click on play that lightbox windows open and if you click close it closes down (as you expect from it) but the problem is that in firefox until you click play the game doesn't load and when you click close it closes the game BUT if you use any other broswer like chrome or IE or any you like, before you click play the game starts loading and when you will click close, it will actually minimize the game not close (like it do in firefox) I don't know why is this crossbrowser issue happening and what could be the solution to make it work like firefox in all browsers? Hi, I am using one simple lightbox or you can call it modal window. It doesn't load any flash content until you click on the button PLAY and when you click on close, it stops the flash game (it actually stops as when you click PLAY again the game starts from beginning) BUT this is only about FIREFOX its not the behavior in CHROME, IE or Safari except MOZILLA FIREFOX all browser act in a complete different way which is opposite to the way I described above. In chrome, IE, Safari maybe Opera the Flash content starts loading without being triggered (means if you don't click PLAY BUTTON still it loads) and even if you click on close button. Instead of stopping flash like in firefox the flash game continues to run (like being minimized instead of closed). Why is this happening, How to resolve it, I am not able to understand this strange behavior? Does anyone know why it won't work in the head of the page? Thanks Greetings, I am looking for either a JavaScript or Coldfusion solution to the following problem. First, there are over 60 million product photos so downloading and resizing the photos using Coldfusion would be very tedious. I would like the display an image within a 100 x 100 pixel container. If the height or width of the image is great than 100 pixels, the image should reduce in size to fit within the 100 x 100 pixel container. I want to avoid pixelation of the images as much as possible. All images are external and not on the local server so I only have an image URL. I would like to hide all images until they are resized appropriately. Does anybody know of a piece of javascript code that can do something similar to this? Sincerely, Travis Walters I've been searching the net for a few hours now for a js that i can use <a href="http://www.sitename.com/#content/home">Home</a> load into a div, but i cant seem to find one, anyone got any ideas? or good links to any. Thanks. Problem I have an index.html that sets up 3 Frames. They are called FrameTop, FrameA and FrameB. See pic below. In FrameTop the user can type in a url into a textbox with id="urlINPUT". When user clicks LOADA it loads that url into FrameA. User can then browse web in FrameA, clicking links etc and going to new pages. The second button LOADB is designed to determine the current location/url of the page displayed in FrameA and load that into FrameB. So far when I write the javascript in FrameTop LOADA works but LOADB loads the FrameTop into FrameB! [error!] If someone can please help me with this problem it would be much appreciated. This work is going towards a free website idea. I suspect my error lies in use of parent/self in the parent.frame.location. Here is my page layout. -----------------Index.html------------------------------------- <frameset rows="5%,*"> <frame name="FrameTop" src="frame_top.html" /> <frameset cols="50%,50%"> <frame name="FrameA" id="FrameA" src="frame_a.html" /> <frame name="FrameB" id="FrameB" src="frame_b.html" /> <noframes> </noframes> </frameset> --------------------frame_top.html------------------------------- <SCRIPT language="JavaScript"> function loadURLintoA() /*gets the url typed in by user and loads it into Frame A. This works fine*/ { var urlrequest= "http://"+document.getElementById('urlINPUT').value; parent.FrameA.location.href = urlrequest; /*sets FrameA location to url that user enters in frametop input*/ } </SCRIPT> <SCRIPT language="JavaScript"> function loadAintoB() /*I WANT this to get the url of the website loaded in frame A and load it into frame B*/ { var urlofA = parent.FrameA.location; parent.FrameB.location = urlofA; /*this is supposed to get the url of FrameA and load it into FrameB*/ } </SCRIPT> </HEAD> <body bgcolor="#848484"> http://<input type="text" name="urlINPUT" value="" id="urlINPUT" size="10"> <input type="button" name="loadAbutton" id="loadAbutton" value="LOAD A" onclick="loadURLintoA()"> <input type="button" name="loadBbutton" id="loadBbutton" value="LOAD B" onclick="loadAintoB()"> ---------------------------------------------- What happens when I run index.html index.html loads the index correctly and displays FrameTop, FrameA and FrameB. The load A button also works correctly BUT when I click LoadB it loads FrameTop into FrameB! This happens when no page is loaded into FrameA AND when an external page in loaded in. Please help, I would be very greatfull if you could point out my mistake. So, I have to rely on a third party external JS file to load into a site of mine. Problem is I have to have it (for ads), but once every blue moon the server fails to repond to the request (its down or unresponsive), and thus because the JS can't load, the site hangs. Is there a reliable js/ajax etc.. mechanism that I can use to set an allotted time and if the js isn't loaded, cancel the call or stop it so the page can load? Please advise. Caveats: I cannot host it, I cannot use php. Basically I was given a script call and I include it in the header of the page. I don't have alot of room to host, use various technologies etc.. other than what I am able to use without any backend/app scripting. Hello. My goal is to load the JS for a specific element before displaying that element. I integrated a third part script, and it works well. I set the timer he The JS is in my heading as <script type="text/javascript" src="countdownpro.js"></script> About mid-body I have: <span id="countdown1">2010-07-20 00:00:00 GMT+00:00</span> which allows for the setting of a target date to countdown to. When the page first loads it shows the above long format target time, until the js/meta tags kick in to modify it to just show the actual countdown as 00:00:00. I have attached countdownpro.js to this post. I tried shifting the function CD_Init() to the top of the script, and also appended it inline with the .html. I tried setting the big external script to "defer", but neither arrangement worked. I also tried placing the src file right at the top. I appreciate your help. Hello all, I have the following code to load a new html page into the 'new content' div once the user scrolls to the bottom of the page. It all works fine. No problems, except I would like it to pause for a moment whilst it is loading, and show a loading box div at the bottom of the screen as it loads the new content, just to give some positive feedback for the user. So the new div would sit in a fixed position at 'bottom:0px;' and have a loading image inside it. Is this easy to do? I am new to javascript so bear with me Code: alreadyloading = false; nextpage = 2; $(window).scroll(function() { if($(window).scrollTop() + $(window).height() == $(document).height()) { if (alreadyloading == false) { var url = "page"+nextpage+".html"; alreadyloading = true; $.post(url, function(data) { $('#newcontent').children().last().after(data); alreadyloading = false; nextpage++; }); } } }); The 'new content' is a div which is at the bottom of the page and is where the new content loads to! Thank you very much Hi, I coded the following JavaScript: Code: var el = document.createElement("iframe"); el.setAttribute('id', 'ifrm'); document.body.appendChild(el); el.setAttribute('height', 250); el.setAttribute('width', 300); el.setAttribute('frameborder', 0); el.setAttribute('marginheight', 0); el.setAttribute('marginwidth', 0) el.setAttribute('src', 'http://example.com/?pub=1&format=image&size=300x250&url='+window.location); And am putting it between <script type="text/javascript"> and </script> tags in the <body> section of my site. But, it only works in certain areas of the page. Can you guys think of any reason for this? Let me know... Thanks, ~Christian Hi, I hav linked external js (ext1.js) to my app.html page. Now in the ext1.js, I have a function like [CODE] function onwindowload(){ //Access HTML element and append external js 2 (ext2.js) here }[CODE] //Access HTML element and append external js 2 (ext2.js) here--->I donno how to add external JS here. Even if i add the external JS here, the JS uses document.write fn. which replaces entire page. Please suggest a solution http://www.fotoderyadijital.somee.co...cekimleri.html why my gallery is too slow when i double click the image is it about lightbox script or images is too big size. can you check for me. I am making a simple lightbox without using the silly plugins and I want to know how to make the lightbox resize equally when its being loaded. I can only get it expand from the corner, I want it to stretch down then widen but equally on both sides. this is the code im using: Code: // Javascript <script language="javascript"> $(function(){ $("a#show-panel").click(function(){ $("#lightbox, #lightbox-panel").animate({"height" : "400px"},2000); $("#lightbox, #lightbox-panel").animate({"width" : "400px"},2000); }); $("a#close-panel").click(function(){ $("#lightbox, #lightbox-panel").fadeOut(300); }); }); </script> // CSS #lightbox { display:none; background:#000000; opacity:0.9; filter:alpha(opacity=90); position:absolute; top:0px; left:0px; min-width:100%; min-height:100%; z-index:1000; } #lightbox-panel { display:none; position:fixed; top:100px; left:50%; margin-left:-200px; background:#FFFFFF; padding:10px 15px 10px 15px; border:2px solid #CCCCCC; z-index:1001; } // HTML <a id="show-panel" href="#" class="small">Show Panel</a> <div id="lightbox-panel"> <h2>Lightbox Panel</h2> <p>You can add any valid content here.</p> <p align="center"> <a id="close-panel" href="#" class="small">Close this window</a> </p> </div><!-- /lightbox-panel --> <div id="lightbox"> </div><!-- /lightbox --> Hello. Am I missing any coding or anything? I'm really confused and have yet to find any help. I got the instructions from http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/ I would go to their forums but haven't received an approval email for over a week. Odd. Anyway, here is my link with the sample thumbnail. It opens the image in a new page. Thanks! http://creativepink.net/packaging.php Hi, I am using Lightbox+ and overall it's very good for my needs. However it has a small problem that is causing me to loose hair, I have tried to fix it but my grasp of Javascript just isn't cutting it. If you goto http://serennz.sakura.ne.jp/toybox/lightbox/ and click on the image "Sample 2" then use the next arrow to go to "Sample 3" you have to hover off the image and then back on to get the previous and zoom icons to show again. I have been able to make the bug occur every time in both Firefox 3.6 and IE6. I am guessing the mouseover event isn't triggering correctly due to the image object moving underneath the mouse pointer but I just can't fix it. Any help, pushes in the right direction, anything. Cam. Figured it out... admin can delete.
can some tell me how this image gallery with lightbox is done? I am trying to figure this out and was searching, but couldn't find how this was implemented with lightbox. http://www.davirusso.com/work/ Hi, could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong with this page? http://www.silvergatehomes.com/customhomestest.html I've tried a bunch of things and cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thanks. P.S. The reason I'm writing is because the images aren't opening. |
