JavaScript - Disabling A Text Field Depending On 2 Options
Not 100% sure why or how to make this work.
I have 5 options in a select drop-down. Only two of them are to disable a text field. I have written it successfully to disable on one option. How would I add the second option? I have tried many different ways, and i know its something small that i am missing. Below is the code that does not work but shows the 2 options that disable my text field. Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function type_disable() { var qr_type = document.getElementById('qr_type'); var qr_owner = document.getElementById('qr_owner'); if(qr_type.value == 'bio' || 'rebrand') qr_owner.disabled = true else qr_owner.disabled = false } </script> Code: <tr> <td align="right"><span class="re">*</span>Type: </td> <td align="left"> <select id="qr_type" name="qr_type" onChange="type_disable()"> <option value="0">Select Type</option> <option value="property">Property Code</option> <option value="ipw">IPW Code</option> <option value="bio">Biography Code</option> <option value="rebrand">Rebrand Code</option> <option value="property_rebrand">Property-rebrand Code</option> </select> </td> <td ></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="right"><span class="re">*</span>Owner: </td> <td align="left"> <input type="textbox" name="qr_owner" id="qr_owner" size="30" value=""/></td> <td ></td> </tr> Thanks for any help! Similar TutorialsHi all, Thanks for reading. I'm having an issue trying to accomplish the following - I have a text field (field1) already displayed on the HTML page. However, there's a link where you can add additional text fields to the page as well. When the link is clicked, the second text field is added successfully (field2), and when the link is clicked again, the third text field (field3) is added successfully. However, the third field does not add itself to the page, and the text for anything greater than a third field also isn't displayed after. This obviously means that my "fields" variable is not working right, so I'm wondering, would anyone be able to assist me to help me get that variable processing correctly? Many thanks in advance Glorifindal I have a text field, call it income, that when the input is > 0 I need to dynamically show the next text box, and if it is blank hide the next text box. I would like to use onBlur but can't seem to get it to work. Can I do this? Help Hello everyone Background I have an electronics site on which I have a code generator. Im an stuck on how to acheive something. I will simplify what I want to do, so I can then adapt it to my code. I have a paragraph of text on the web page, on which I want to change some words with in the paragraph depending on 2 radio buttons. Example (radio buttons & short paragraph): (Radio Button) Apples (checked) (Radio Button) Bananas "Welcome to jakes fruit shop. You have selected apples today" (apples being the word that would change if the banana radio button is checked) Here is the code generator if your interested. http://www.jakeselectronics.net/conf...erator877A.php What I actually want to do is put other 'fixed' text in the input text area (near botton of page) with only the config line changing. And If I can be shown how to do the short example above, i think I will be able to edit my generator and get it to do what i want it to do. Hi, I'm hoping this will be an easy one for you experts out there. I am working on a convention registration form. What I'm trying to do is have the text "50.00" pop into the COST field when any text (even if it's only one character) is entered into the NAME field. If the text in the NAME field is deleted, the "50.00" should also be deleted. Does anyone have a script that does this? Thanks! I am thinking this should be fairly easy but yet I am not getting far. I want to have a form with a single text imput field for a zip code. Depending on which zip code the user enters will determine which url they will be sent to. If they enter a zip code which is not in the script, they would be sent to a default url. I am also assuming this can be accomplished with javascript. Any help is greatly appreciated. Ok, here is my issue. I want to have an input text on the top of the page that when I type in a series of numbers and hit submit, it populates the rest of the form. Does anyone have any idea what I need to perform this action?
Hi guys,I was thinking about the code to : write something inside the text box and if the word entered is equal "hero" for example the box next to it will turn green means correct, otherwise it will turn red means wrong,and if nothing entered it stays white. I really like to know how we code that in javascript using functions, without any CSS or anything else. That means we have 2 objects a text box and a rectangle for feedback color. Remark: there is no button at all, the validation will be each time you are typing. A Bonus question : if someday we decide to change the color with pictures , is it possible to do that? Thank you very much for your help, much appreciate it. Ok, came up with a work around to my previous problem, however I now have a result that I cannot explain. Here is the code: Code: <FORM NAME="Calc"> <TABLE BORDER=4> <TR> <TD> <INPUT TYPE="text" onkeydown="if (event.keyCode == 13) {Calc.Input.value = eval(Calc.Input.value)}" NAME="Input" Size="26"> <br> </TD> </TR> <TR> <TD> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="one" VALUE=" 1 " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += '1'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="two" VALUE=" 2 " OnCLick="Calc.Input.value += '2'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="three" VALUE=" 3 " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += '3'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="plus" VALUE=" + " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += ' + '"> <br> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="four" VALUE=" 4 " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += '4'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="five" VALUE=" 5 " OnCLick="Calc.Input.value += '5'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="six" VALUE=" 6 " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += '6'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="minus" VALUE=" - " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += ' - '"> <br> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="seven" VALUE=" 7 " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += '7'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="eight" VALUE=" 8 " OnCLick="Calc.Input.value += '8'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="nine" VALUE=" 9 " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += '9'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="times" VALUE=" x " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += ' * '"> <br> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="clear" VALUE=" C " OnClick="Calc.Input.value = ''"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="zero" VALUE=" 0 " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += '0'"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="DoIt" VALUE=" = " OnClick="Calc.Input.value = eval(Calc.Input.value)"> <INPUT TYPE="button" NAME="div" VALUE=" / " OnClick="Calc.Input.value += ' / '"> <br> </TD> </TR> </TABLE> </FORM> In order to get the 'Enter' button to function the same as pressing the '=' button, I added the keyCode event. Hello, I am needing the coding to do the follow: When a user makes a selection from a dropdown, the value is placed in a text input. SELECT >>> INPUT Thank you so much for your help! I have a table where when the cursor passes/hovers over a cell, the current cell, as well as the top cell in its column and the first cell in its row change backgroundColor. I have text fields outside the table which I want to populate with the contents of the cells affected by the mouseover event. So as the mouse moves over different cells, the contents of the text fields changes accordingly. I've got the backgroundColor to change, but when I try to assign the contents of the cells to the text fields, nothing happens. The change of backgroundColor even stops working. This is the code I'm usign to populate the fields. Code: document.getElementById("tableID").textfieldID.value = Col1Cell[0].innerHTML; document.getElementById("tableID").textfieldID.value = HeaderCell[n].innerHTML; document.getElementById("tableID").textfieldID.value = this.innerHTML; I'm traversing through the <th> and <td> tags to find the header cell HeaderCell[n] and first column cell Col1Cell[0] associated with the current cell. If I leave out these lines the backgroundColor changes, if I use them, nothing happens at all. Can't figure out why. Any suggestions?
