JavaScript - Pulling Code From An Iframe

Hello,

I hope this is in the right section. I am relatively new to coding and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction because at the time, I don't even know what to start researching in order to figure out how to do this.

If you go to www.livingelectro.com, you will see they use the longtail media player(http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/jw-flv-player/) and pull the song to preview from a Zippyshare page.

This is the code they use... (notice they do not pull a .mp3 file like I was doing from this code)

If you look at MY website, (http://www.edmaddicts.net/index.php?...ews&Itemid=107) you will be able to scroll down and see the song preview bars. Originally, I was inserting the Zippyshare file ending in .mp3 and pulling the song up with either of these codes...

The Zippyshare file .mp3 is a link stored and pulled up with {FIELDVALUE} in the database. How are they pulling the .mp3 file from Zippyshare so it works everytime? When I insert the .mp3 extension, it only works on my computer and until I reset my cookies. I can NOT host the files on my own website.

I am creating a template generator page that generates a webpage based on what I fill in for certain elements like image name, img src, book title, book author, etc. and these values are sent to me in an excel document which right now I just open and copy and paste everything from the excel document into the form fields for each section.

So for example the client sends over a list of book titles they want featured on the page this week and they include author name, author link, book name, book url, img src, etc. and I just copy those new fields into my template and then click generate and the updated HTML code is there for me to copy.

This part works totally fine but in the interest of saving time copying upwards of 100 fields from an Excel file into my template, is there a way I can select the excel file (stored locally) on my page with a "browse" directory form and then have a button that runs SQL queries on my Excel document to pull these updated titles, images, etc into my form fields dynamically?

Do I need to utilize server technology for this or is there a simple script that when I click a button, will look at whatever excel file I have selected and say "grab this row at this column"?

What is the best way to do this?

Help! I'm relatively a noob when it comes to this stuff but I do know javavscript and SQL pretty well. I just can't figure out how to access my excel file to pull in the updated information.

The excel file's row and column structure never changes, just the content on each row and column.

Hi.. I should warn, i know almost nothing about javascript. . i've been trying read sample scripts and examples on how to modify this script; but I just don't know enough.

I have a script that pulls data from an array, and copies it directly to the clipboard when a user clicks on it. The problem is this only works in IE, because Firefox doesn't by default allow that to happen. I'm trying to change it so that when it is clicked, instead, it takes what was going to be copied to the clipboard, and puts it in a Prompt box for the user to copy and paste. I had other scripts that do that, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to learn from it!

I've spent days at trying to customize it.. but.. i'm not a programmer

I was able to get it to open a prompt box, and had it populate with ("copy this code", $variable), but cannot figure out how to have it display the proper values that was clicked on. I have no idea though what is considered efficient either in the code.

I hope this isn't considered asking for TOO much help....

Is there a way to resize an iframe dynamically so that you never get the scroll bar and essentially hide that there is an iframe? Better integration really.

Basically I want to iframe a forum into my site so that the design down the sides and top which my friend does using iweb are not messed with.
We have a central area which can be longer or shorter depending on the forum.

I have some code which:

1) Opens a URL (e.g. google.com) in a hidden iframe, then
2) Redirects the visitor to a different URL (e.g. yahoo.com) after it has loaded...

This works exactly as I need.

What I'd like to do is the following:

1) Open a URL (e.g. google.com) in a hidden iframe, then
2) Redirect the visitor to a different URL (e.g. yahoo.com) in a full-screen iframe
3) The address bar of the full-screen iframe should be my domain (obviously!)

I've got this problem which I can't solve myself...

I've got a website which has 3 colums and is hosted on domain1.com. in the right column I've got an Iframe which loads content from domain2.com . this content are some textboxes and a datepicker tool. if I press the 'search'-button in this Iframe I would like to refresh the mainpage (from domain1.com) so that another Iframe appears in the middle column. in this column i would like to load a new form from domain2.com which contains the values that I've put in in the form from the right Iframe.

Unfortunally I can't get this to work... Will somebody please help me?

I have used iframes for my site and found various javascripts so when a person clicks on say the audio page he http://www.krillmeed.com/index.html
it takes them to the audio page but will load it into the index.html page. The problem is, especially with search engines, to point to that page, this is what the URL looks like to send someone to that page:

Not sure if I worded that question right. I have a web page which will display another web page in an iframe. But the content inside the iframe may change while the user interacts with it so I need to be able to resize the iframe height from code on the page inside the iframe. Any tips on how I can do that? I am using php and javascript. Thanks.

Hello to all and thanks in advance for my help. I know this has been posted in different places on the web but I have found no solid solution. Here is my problem:

I have an iframe the loads up a page on a remote server (out of my hands) and when I send certain information to it, the page redirects my entire site to their 404 page. I need to prevent this from happening so I engaged in much research and found this... temporary fix:

What this code does, is that every time the unload of a page happens, it will redirect me to my404.html and this does solve the problem of the iframe trying to redirect my entire site but anytime a user tried to go to a new website by typing it in the address bar, they are redirected to my404.html.

Is there another solution for me so that the page within the iframe cannot redirect the parent page?

I have an iframe that is a specific height and width. I want to detect whenever the the iframe is no longer exactly the height i set it to. If a user has CSS turned off for example the iframe will be in default height and width. I want to detect that.

This is how you'd normally do it but this only returns the original size (try with 'no style' in Firefox):

I have a page with 3 iFrames, showing different content.

iFrame1: Here is a navigation php page. Click on a menu item and it loads a php page in iFrame2
iFrame2: Here is a list of items from a database.
iFrame3: I load 3 different php pages here. (A) is the main showing page. (B) and (C) is a record manipulation page, that does some editing in the database and then redirects to (A).

When the (A) php page loads, it should reload iFrame2

I have tried to put something like:

and put it on the (A) php page.

This will reload the entire page, which works. However, it results in a loop of reloads, as the (A) iFrame file will load with the entire page reload...

So, I was looking for the right code to put, like onLoad=iFrame2.location.reload()

However, I can't seem to find the correct code, so I hope any of you can help me...

I'm trying to get my Client Side Firefox DHTML app to display a list of eBooks. For this, i have the following files

textbooks.html is my DHTML app
eBooks.txt is the Library file with a listing of all of my eBooks.
Inside of eBooks.txt is the following data:

FirstBook.txt to ThirdBook.txt are my actual ebooks.


The problem that i'm having is that When i try to click on any buttons other than the FirstBook button, i get the following error:

So, unlike clicking on the FirstBook button, these other buttons do not load the eBook data into the DIV for displaying the eBook data.

I use the DOM insepector to checkout the DOM of the button code, and it seems like whitespace maybe is the problem. However, i have removed whitespace from the HTMLdata string, and that's not fixing the problem.

did i forget something silly? LOL

i'm using FireFox 3.5 to develop this App. So obviously this will not work with anything other than Gecko Based browsers.

Hi all,

I hope someone can advise whether such a script exists for what am wanting to do. From time to time, I need to send password information or login details and password information to some users.

At the moment, am doing it via email with a subject named FYI and the body of the email basically just contain the login and the password or in some case, just the password.

What am wanting to know is whether I can put these information into a HTML file which contains an obfuscated Javascript with a button that a user will click that will prompt for his login information and then will display the password.

In its simplest form, I guess I am looking for a Javascript that will obfuscate a HTML file that contains the password. Anyway, hopefully someone understand what am looking for.

I found some website that offers such service as obfuscating a HTML file but am hoping it can be done via a Javascript so it is at least "portable" and I do not have to be online.

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
