JavaScript - Grabbing Text From Webpage To Display On Another Page.
Bit of a noob when it comes to js. Hope someone can help me out.
I am trying to place text output from a url on another webpage. The output is the status of an alarm system. The URL is: Code: https://www.eye-zon.com/EZMOBILE/index.php?mid=<hash>&action=ssi&did=<mac> hash and mac info remove for security reasons. The URL leads to a webpage that outputs: Code: <update>2011-08-18 21:21:10</update><status> Stay Armed </status><trouble>NO</trouble> I would like to place these three outputs on another page. Any ideas? Similar TutorialsWhile on vacation I've been writing a bunch of javascript/css text effects for fun and I'm planning to look into how I can implement my code inside a url. So now I want to know how I can recognise and grab the text from any random webpage and put it inside of a variable, my script can take it from there.
I have the ability to remotely upload a text file to a folder on my web server. Periodically during the day I update that file and re-upload it which overwrites the previous file. I am looking for a script to insert in a webpage that will "get" and display the current version of that file on page load. Thanks in advance. Hello all, Im new to the board, Have a question i cant figure out. This board seems very helpful, so here goes. Im trying to grab certain variables like orderID & Subtotal variables that are posted to the confirmation page. The reason im grabbing these is for a confirmation pixel that is displayed for commission junction. When some clicks on their link, then completes an order, their tracking pixel fires grabs these variables and that way they can track the order confirmaton. The problem is they dont see the tracking pixel firing and its not grabbing the variables. I dont know what to do. Here is the code. maybe someone here can help me?? This is the code that shows on the confirmation page. Im assuming this is where im suppose to grab the variables. Code: //<![CDATA[ var SecureCartOrders = [ {"orderID":154983165,"name":"Max Test","company":null,"email1":"max@maxtest.com","address1":"123 main st","address2":null,"city":"miami","state":"Florida","zip":"33845","country":"United States","fax":null,"phone":"5611112222","secondaryphone":null,"cardtype":"","shipname":"Max Test","shipCompany":null,"shipAddress1":"123 main st","shipAddress2":null,"shipCity":"west palm beach","shipState":"Florida","shipZip":"33405","shipCountry":"United States","status":"Accepted","product":["oil product"],"sku":["FC1246"],"quantity":[1],"price":[0.00],"option":[[]],"productattributes":[{}],"plist":"3598071","Total":0.00,"shippingMethod":"Free Shipping","shippingAmount":0,"grandTotal":0.00,"adtrack":0} ]; //]]> This is the javascript code that im using to grab those variables. The variables that i need are orderID & Total Code: <script type='text/javascript'> var orderId = SecureCartOrders[0].orderID; var subTotal = SecureCartOrders[0].Total; var url ='https://www.emjcd.com/u?CID=111111&TYPE=343000&CURRENCY=USD&METHOD=IMG'; url += '&OID=' + orderId; url += '&AMOUNT=' +subTotal; document.write('<img width=\'20\' height=\'1\' src=\' + url + \'\'>'); </script> I have no idea what else i can do. This is a system hosted confirmation page from a shoppingcart software called, 1shoppingcart.com I maintain a website for a small local restaurant. I do this with FrontPage so I know very little coding. I have an upload manager so the owner can remotely upload a txt or doc file of daily specials to a folder on the server. I would like to put a java script into one of the web pages that would open and display this file on page load. Is that possible and can someone help with the code, Thanks Hi! First post here! Would really appreciate some help on a javascript that would display the time elapsed since a particular visitor last visited my webpage, using cookies. So basically it should show something like: "You last visited my page 2 days & 12 mins ago!" I've a little background in java but none in javascript... Thanks so much! Hi. Can someone tell me if it is possible to display the duration a webpage is accesssed. For example, if its a form webpage, then the time to be displayed will be = time the webpage was left (press submit button etc. or the time the viewer left the page) - time the webpage was first accessed or loaded. If it is possible with javascript, what are the methods, attributes etc that need to be used. Hello. It is Friday. I thought this will be a simple question, but it seen like hard to find a fast and simple solution. I am working on an online sign in tool. Two browser windows are open at the same time. One is for people to sign in with password and submit their information; another one is for Administrator to see who sign in. I am trying to refresh the Administrator page whenever user finished sign in and submitted their information. These two pages cannot be parent and child page. What will be the easiest way to solve this in ColdFusion or JavaScript? Thank you so much for your time. Have a wonderful weekend.
Hi, I want to when I open a web page , my program detect all the "digit numbers" and display all of them for me. I don't know exactly what do I do? Thanks. Regards. Hi, I am Aditya. I am explaining below the exact scenario where I need the help: I am developing a web application in which I need to integrate a javascript/html editor on some of the web pages and then provide 'Edit' buttons on those web pages so that users can edit the content on that partciular html/jsp page (like editing in wiki pages) and then, when they add some content and click on submit button, the new content should appear on the web page with all the formatting (i.e. bold, italics, color and so on) which was applied by user when he was entering the text. Now, I need help for the below issues: 1. Please suggest me a good javascript/html editor (freely downloadable) which I can use to integrate with my web pages. 2. Once the user has entered some content using the above javascript editor, how to make that content reach the server and update the corresponding web page. I am new to web development, so may be that these questions are too simple. But, I need some help from you. Waiting for your reply, Thanks, Aditya Hi there! I am using GlassBox "http://www.glassbox-js.com/" As a light box on a website. Basically, You click an thumbnail image, and a window pops up with a larger version of that image. Now originally, the window opened X number of pixels from the top of the page. However, My thumbnail images were located mid page, so when you clicked on one, the window would open at the top of the page and the user would not see it unless they scrolled up. So I attempted to modify the script so that it would get the users page width/height and display it directly in the center no matter the position. Now my problem is that the script only works when the user has already scrolled down. So if the page is scrolled all the way to the top, and you click on a thumbnail, the window will not open center screen. Here is an example: http://synaxis.pcriot.com/ When the page loads, DO NOT scroll it, and click on the image. You will see the window pop up, and not centered, like it should be. However, now if you scroll down, and click the image again, you see that it is now centered. I also noticed that when the page is scrolled up, and the image does not center, it always is placed below the thumbnail image, or otherwise where ever the DIV is located. It normally located under the image, but if i place the DIV at the top of the page then the window will pop up there. And this does happen on every browser that I have tested, Firefox, IE, and Chrome. So, I am pretty much stumped as to why this is happening. If anyone can shed some light I would be very grateful. Thank You Here is a link to the original code: http://synaxis.pcriot.com/javascript...ox/glassbox.js And modified code: http://synaxis.pcriot.com/javascript...ox/glassbox.js The modified code is at the very bottom of the script. Original Code: Code: /** * @public */ if ( typeof($) == 'undefined' ) { $ = function (id) { return document.getElementById(id); } } Modified Code Code: /** * @private */ var removeElement = function(id) { var Node = document.getElementById(id); Node.parentNode.removeChild(Node); } /** * @private */ var getDocHeight = function() { var db = document.body; var ddE = document.documentElement; return Math.max( db.scrollHeight, db.offsetHeight, db.clientHeight, ddE.scrollHeight, ddE.offsetHeight, ddE.clientHeight ); } /** * @public */ if ( typeof($) == 'undefined' ) { $ = function (id) { return document.getElementById(id); } } Hi All, Im new to this forum...need some of your help and advice. I have a js code like this : <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var sipPos = 0; $(document).ready(function() { $("#panel-tab").click(function(e) { //if(autoTimer) clearTimeout(autoTimer); //autoTimer = null; e.preventDefault(); $("#panel").animate({ left: sipPos }, 1764, 'linear', function() { if(sipPos == 0) { sipPos = -856; } else { sipPos = 0; } }); }); }); --> </script> what it does is that it hide and show a panel by slidint it to the left. But my client want that on page load the panel opens automatically for about 2-3 seconds just to let users know that its here. So ive written this : <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var sipPos = 0; $(document).ready(function() { var autoTimer = null; autoTimer = setTimeout(function(){ $("#panel").animate({ left: sipPos }); autoTimer = setTimeout(function(){ $("#panel").animate({ left: sipPos = -856 }); }, 2000); },1000); $("#panel-tab").click(function(e) { //if(autoTimer) clearTimeout(autoTimer); //autoTimer = null; e.preventDefault(); $("#panel").animate({ left: sipPos }, 1764, 'linear', function() { if(sipPos == 0) { sipPos = -856; } else { sipPos = 0; } }); }); }); --> </script> But when the panel finished showing the button to open it again doesn't work...any help please..really urgent. thks //Sam Hi all, Thanks for reading. I'm having an issue trying to accomplish the following - I have a text field (field1) already displayed on the HTML page. However, there's a link where you can add additional text fields to the page as well. When the link is clicked, the second text field is added successfully (field2), and when the link is clicked again, the third text field (field3) is added successfully. However, the third field does not add itself to the page, and the text for anything greater than a third field also isn't displayed after. This obviously means that my "fields" variable is not working right, so I'm wondering, would anyone be able to assist me to help me get that variable processing correctly? Code: <script language="javascript"> fields = 1; function addMore() { if (fields = 1) { document.getElementById('addedMore').innerHTML = "<input type='text' name='field2' size='25' /> <span>Field 2.</span>"; fields = 2; } else if (fields = 2) { document.getElementById('addedMore').innerHTML = "<input type='text' name='field3' size='25' /> <span>Field 3.</span>"; fields = 3; } else { document.getElementById('addedMore').innerHTML = "Only 3 fields are allowed."; document.form.add.disabled=true; } } </script> Here is the code in my HTML - Code: <input type="text" name="field1" size="25" /> <span>Field 1.</span> <div id="addedMore"></div> <p class="addMore"><form name="add"><a onclick="addMore()">Add another field.</a></form></p> Thank you very much. In a php upload Form when a User chooses an image file to upload, the name of the file appears next to the Choose File button (see attachment) is it possible to grab that file name, add it to the page, and proceed with completing the Form? Attached Thumbnails ok well here's what i want to do i have a bbcode for download links on my forum when this bbcode is parsed, it will display a link under the download link BUT only for the first 3 links so basically i would need a javascript with a counter, that will display some text if the counter is > 3 and then add +1 to the counter normally i would EASILY do this with php, but i can't (bbcodes are parsed not parsed by server on phpbb, and you can't use php code in bbcodes) And since i'm a total newbie with javascript, i need to come here and ask this stupid question :/ thanks for your help! if you still don't understand what i want to do, here is how it would look in php if i could include this code in my phpbb custom bbcode: Code: <? if (empty($compteur)) { $compteur = "1"; } if ($compteur < 4) { echo "bla blah blah"; $compteur = $compteur+1; } ?> Hey guys, Im trying to figure out how to display a string of text beneath the drop down when a specific option is selected. for example: if you select 'Colors' just plain text would appear the drop down and show the list of colors 'red, blue, green, yellow' or if you select 'Fruit' the plain text shows the list of fruit "orange, banana, apple, lemon' Any ideas or can you guys point me in the right direction? I have a similar code except its when you type in a number in a textarea it would output the coressponding data. hi all, im looking for a script that does the following when the page loads "text1" is displayed. then on the next line 2 seconds later "text2" is displayed and test1 is still displayed. and i need this to go to 5 lines so the final project should look like --- text1 text2 text3 text4 text5 thanks Alright, so I'll be honest, I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT JAVASCRIPT! So, basically, I want, when the button is clicked, for this to grab some levels from a game and do some calculations. Simple. Well... Not for me. Here is the code I have right now: Code: <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function GrabTheStats(rsusername){ var GrabStats = ""http://hiscore.runescape.com/index_lite.ws?player="" + rsusername; var GrabStats_array = GrabStats.split(","); attLvl = expToLevel(GrabStats_array[0],false); strLvl = expToLevel(GrabStats_array[1],false); defLvl = expToLevelGrabStats_array[2],false); hpLvl = expToLevel(GrabStats_array[3],true); magLvl = expToLevel(GrabStats_array[4],false); ranLvl = expToLevel(GrabStats_array[5],false); praLvl = expToLevel(GrabStats_array[6],false); sumLvl = expToLevel(GrabStats_array[7],false); calcResult = calcCombat(attLvl,strLvl,defLvl,hpLvl,magLvl,ranLvl,praLvl,sumLvl); document.getElementById('outputlocation').value = calcResult[0] + "/" + calcResult[1]; } </script> Code: <input type="text" name="outputlocation" id="outputlocation"/> <input type="button" onclick="GrabTheStats("zezima");" value="CLICK ME" /> Could someone help me to get this working? The calcCombat calculates things bases on the levels it grabs and produces an array of results, calcResult[0] and [1] being the two results I want right now. An example output will hopefully be "95/98". Please don't criticize, since this is for 'crappy old RuneScape'. It really doesn't help. Thanks! Hi, may I ask how do you display a line or a sentence when you click the checkbox? |
