JavaScript - Form Submit Data To Multiple Sources
Hello all,
I need my form to submit to two sources, zoho crm and broker office. One is used to create a contact list and the other is an insurance quote engine. Problem one. How can I use javascript to force my form to submit data to both sites? The bigger problem is they use different names for the same field. In other words one wants to recieve a vaule as first_name and the other wants it as firstName. Thanks in advance. Similar TutorialsI've been looking around and haven't been able to find much on the subject. Anyways I'm wondering how to pull data from more than one xml source on a single page. I've found people referencing the subject but nothing concrete on how it's done. Any help would be much appreciated.
I am wondering if there is a way to display feeds from multiple sources on my page using this tool. The feeds are at the following URL http://www.vanityasart.com/viastorm.com/news.html It loads the first feed fine and then stops loading the others. Any ideas? H Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with a project i'm working on. We have a webpage setup to alpha page individual people with pagers at work. It is a simple form that submits to a php file on the pager server. I am working on creating a script that submits a alpha-page to everyone at once. There are about 120 different ppl in the company, I want the script to submit the form once for each persons pager. I'm new to javascript but have alittle programming understanding. This is what i have so far: Code: <html> <head> <title>Send a Page</title> </head> <body> <center> <form action="http://sendpage/pager/PageSend.php" method="POST"> <input type="hidden" name="ContactPagerNumberId[]" value="120"> <input type="hidden" name="PagemessageId" value="What are you doing?"> <input type="hidden" name="ScheduledDeliverydateId" value="2011-08-22"> <input type="hidden" name="ScheduledDeliveryTimeId" value="19:30:00"> <input type="hidden" name=ScheduledDeliveryAmPmId" value="selected"> <button style="width:140px; height:30px" type="submit" name="SEND">Submit</button> </form> </body> </html> The ContactPagerNumberId[] is the arbitrary value set to individual ppl's pagers. I'm not sure where to place the javascript code at. It doesn't seem as hard as I'm making it out to be. Any suggestions? hi there, I'm looking for a method to use several hyperlinks to submit a form and then return the page within the link for example Code: <a href="thispage.php?mode=1" Onclick="javascript:form.submit();"> <a href="thispage.php?mode=2" Onclick="javascript:form.submit();"> the reason for this is so that no matter which link a user navigates to the form will be submitted and no data lost. however the above code obviously loses the POST info as the form action will be different from the a tag. Therefore I think maybe a way of creating a variable that changes the form action to match the a link selected (as the form(s) are submitted to the same php page. hope someone can think clearer than me! cheers Hey Guys, A litttle new to web coding so bare with me(hope this is posted in the right section). Im workin on a backend panel where i populate a simple table with a few text boxes in there so they can update some values. I also have at the end of every row in the table an Edit, Delete & Save button. When i hit the save button i would like to update that entry in the database. My Problem is that i need a value from the table before hitting a submit button, and the element names are dynamically created meaning ill likely need a variable sent from php to javascript and once i have the value in javascript ill need to send it back over to the php to manipulate and send to the server. From wat i can gather using 'document.form.element.value' is the best way to go, hence why i posted this in javascript when most of my code is php. PLEASE HELP I want to use Javascript to submit a form - without filling the form in physically Is this possible? Let's say a web page has a form that submit First Name and Last Name to the next page Instead of filling in the form and hitting submit, can I submit the data in variables and call the next page somehow using Javascript? Thanks OM Hi friends, i'm using greybox on my website, and using survey. i want when click submit button then post form data to opened greybox window.. but can't.... my form actions <form action="anket.php?islem=ok" method="post" onSubmit="javascript:return GB_showCenter('Anket',this.action, 280, 350)" > greybox window open, but can't show post data.. can anyone help me ? sorry for may bad english Hello! coding forums gals, I am resorting to you for help with a html form that uses javascript to validate data. the form is an invoice for a trip order where the user can select a trip location out of a listbox, a number of people traveling, and where they wish to stay(ex. hotel, tent, etc.) after the user selects one for each category and hits the "add to invoice" button, the fields in the invoice should get filled with the corresponding information. Now my question is how can I write code that will insert information in the next line down and all other lines below if the user wants to schedule more than one trip at a time? basically what logic and programming structure do I need in my function that will know when the first line in the invoice is filled and will add data in the next line down. after I have successfully placed an order, and I want to make another one, how do I get javascript to output data on the second line? Code: <html> <head> </head> <script type="text/javascript"> function addit() { var f = document.myform; var cost = 0; var percentage = 0; switch(f.destination.selectedIndex) { case 0: document.myform.trip1.value="Mt. I'm struggling with some javascript problems. I want to submit a hidden field when you click on an image button, rather than it being an actual submit button. It's going to submit the value "1" to a PHP page, but I don't want it to actually have to GO to the PHP page, just submit it within the webpage. Is this possible? Thanks Is it possible to submit multiple links all at the same time using Javascript? I check all over the web and can't find any examples anywhere. I would like to click on a button and submit to google, yahoo, msn, etc all at the same time. Like someone physically click on http://google.com, http://yahoo.com, http://msn.com, so on. Could you please help me with this. I've tried multiple ways of doing this, but nothing works. Code: <html> <head> <style> table { background: lightblue; padding: 30px; margin: 20px; } .border{ text-align: center; border: thin solid black; padding: 40px; font-size: 50px; } img { border:1px solid black; } .vis { padding: 40px; border: thick solid black; text-align: center; border-spacing: 30px; background: maroon; } .invis { background: lightblue; } </style> <script type="javascript/text"> var item = document.getElementById('animal'); function change(name){ item.src = name; } function back(){ item.src = "blank.jpg"; } function changeName(word){ var item2 = document.getElementById('animalName') item2.innerHTML = word } </script> </head> <body> <table width="700" height="600" cellspacing="40"> <tr> <td class="vis" rowspan="3"><p><br> <img src="cat.thumb.jpg" onMouseOver="change('cat.jpg'); changeName('cat')" onMouseOut="back();"> <p> <img src="dog.thumb.jpg" onMouseOver="change('dog.jpg'); changeName('dog')" onMouseOut="back();"> <p> <img src="cow.thumb.jpg" onMouseOver="change('cow.jpg'); changeName('cow')" onMouseOut="back();"> <p> <img src="owl.thumb.jpg" onMouseOver="change('owl.jpg'); changeName('owl')" onMouseOut="back();"> <p> <img src="pig.thumb.jpg" onMouseOver="change('pig.jpg'); changeName('pig')" onMouseOut="back();"> <p> </td> <td class="invis"> </td></tr> <tr> <td class="vis"> <div class="border"> <h1 id='animalName'>Dog</h1> </div> <br> <img id='animal' src="blank.jpg"> </td> </tr> <td class="invis"> </tr> </table> </body> </html> I've literally tried everything. Read 26 tutorials, interchanged code, etc. My validation functions all work. My AJAX functions work (tested manually using servlet URL's). The second servlet validates the reCaptcha form that's generated on my webpage. After the form is validated, even if everything's correct, nothing happens upon clicking submit. I even have an alert pop up if with the captcha result, just for middle-layer debugging purposes. I want to do all of my validation clientside; none serverside. However, going to be tough if I can't get my god damn form to submit. I've been puzzled by this for close to 36 hours straight. I can't see, and I'm going to get some rest and hope that there is some useful insight on my problem when I return. html form: Code: <form id="f1" name="form1" onsubmit="validate_form(this); return false;" action="register" method="post"> <table cellspacing="5" style="border: 2px solid black;"> <tr> <td valign="top"> <table cellspacing="5"> <tr> <td>*First name</td> <td align="right"><span id="valid_one"></span></td> <td><input type="text" style="width: 320px;" id="fn" name="fn" onBlur="validate_one();"></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left">*Last name</td> <td align="right"><span id="valid_two"></span></td> <td><input type="text" style="width: 320px;" id="ln" name="ln" onBlur="validate_two();"></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left">*Email address</td> <td align="right"><span id="result"></span></td> <td><input type="text" style="width: 320px;" id="mailfield" name="email" onBlur="startRequest();"></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left">*Phone number</td> <td align="right"><span id="valid_three"></span></td> <td><input type="text" style="width: 320px;" id="pn" name="pn" onBlur="validate_three();"></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left">*City/Town</td> <td align="right"><span id="valid_four"></span></td> <td><input type="text" style="width: 320px;" id="c" name="c" onBlur="validate_four();"></td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> <td></td> <td> <select name="s"> <option value="AL">Alabama <option value="AK">Alaska <option value="AZ">Arizona <option value="AR">Arkansas <option value="CA">California <option value="CO">Colorado <option value="CT">Connecticut <option value="DE">Delaware <option value="FL">Florida <option value="GA">Georgia <option value="HI">Hawaii <option value="ID">Idaho <option value="IL">Illinois <option value="IN">Indiana <option value="IA">Iowa <option value="KS">Kansas <option value="KY">Kentucky <option value="LA">Louisiana <option value="ME">Maine <option value="MD">Maryland <option value="MA">Massachusetts <option value="MI">Michigan <option value="MN">Minnesota <option value="MS">Mississippi <option value="MO">Missouri <option value="MT">Montana <option value="NE">Nebraska <option value="NV">Nevada <option value="NH">New Hampshire <option value="NJ">New Jersey <option value="NM">New Mexico <option value="NY">New York <option value="MC">North Carolina <option value="ND">North Dakota <option value="OH">Ohio <option value="OK">Oklahoma <option value="OR">Oregon <option value="PA">Pennsylvania <option value="RI">Rhode Island <option value="SC">South Carolina <option value="SD">South Dakota <option value="TN">Tennessee <option value="TX">Texas <option value="UT">Utah <option value="VT">Vermont <option value="VA">Virginia <option value="WA">Washington <option value="WV">West Virginia <option value="WI">Wisconsin <option value="WY">Wyoming </select> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <br> </td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> <td></td> <td><span id="error"></span></td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top">*Anti-Spam Verification</td> <td></td> <td id="reCaptcha"></td> </tr> </table> </td> <td valign="top"> <table cellspacing="5"> <tr> <td align="left">*Affiliation</td> <td align="right"><span id="valid_five"></span></td> <td><input type="text" style="width: 320px;" id="affl" name="affl" onBlur="validate_five();"></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left">*Research Area:</td> <td align="right"><span id="valid_six"></span></td> <td><input type="text" style="width: 320px;" id="ra" name="ra" onBlur="validate_six();"></td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top" align="left">*Research Overview</td> <td align="right"><span id="valid_seven"></span></td> <td><textarea cols="38" rows="6" id="ro" name="ro" onKeyDown="limitText(this.form.ro,this.form.countdown,500)" onKeyUp="limitText(this.form.ro,this.form.countdown,500)" onBlur="validate_seven();"></textarea></td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> <td></td> <td><font size="1">You have <input readonly type="text" name="countdown" size="1" value="500"> characters remaining.</font></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left">*Talk Availability</td> <td></td> <td> <input type="radio" name="ta" value="In person">In person <input type="radio" name="ta" value="Online">Online <input type="radio" name="ta" value="Both" checked>Both </td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top">Links</td> <td></td> <td> <table id="linkTable" border="0"> <td><input type="text" style="width: 320px;" name="link"></td> <td><div id="result"></div></td> </table> </td> <td align="left" valign="top"><input type="button" value="Add Link" onclick="addLink('linkTable')"></td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> <td><span style="color: red;"></span></td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> <br /> <input type="submit" id="submit" name="submit" value="Submit Form"> </form> Javascript file: Code: /* * script.js - ajax and table functions */ var xmlHttp; I have no problem creating the proper DOM script object with the proper type and conditional src value. However, when i add it to the document it does not seem to execute. I've tried adding it in two places, both using .appendChild(); myLocation.parentNode.appendChild(newScript); and document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0].appendChild(newScript); (myLocation is a calculated element representing the current script tag) In both these cases, the script tag is added to the document where I intended, but it does not appear to execute. The src has some doc writes in it and the tags the new script should generate right after itself are not there, as they are when I hard code the new sourced script tag into the document. All in all, my confusion comes from the fact that when I write a <script ... src="mysrc.js"></script> into my document, it behaves differently than when I have a script write an identical tag into the document in the same location. Also, fyi, I'm currently using Chrome (though I will require a multi-platform solution). Thanks for your time. This one is tricky. I can do this in php, however, I would like to keep everything on the same page. In a nutshell I'd like my users to export some data but after they click the export button I need them to input a key which will then be placed into a variable and the posted. Here's a simplified version of how script works without the key: Code: <?PHP if(isset($_POST['Export'])){ $file = $_POST['Export']; $hostname = $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME']; $hostname = str_replace('www.', '', $hostname); $file_location = "http://".$hostname."/filelocation/".$file; $list = file_get_contents("$file_location"); # filename for download $filename = "$file.txt"; header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"$file\""); header("Content-Type: text/plain"); echo $list; } ?> <form action="" method="post"> <input type=hidden value="$file" name="Export"> <input type=submit value="Export"></form> I know this is a javascript category and I have php. However, what I want is javascript. My users cannot access the page (traditionally) because a key needs to first be submitted. This is what I need help with > Find a way to use javascript when the 'Export' button is pressed to open a pop-up window for the user to submit their key. > Place there key into a variable. From there I can use PHP to post the variable, extract the data and allow the user to export. Something like this: Code: if(isset($_POST['Export'])){ //The user pressed the export button - use javascript to envoke pop-up //<!--javascript pop-up code--> //The user submitted their key - place it in a variable //<!--javascript code to post key into variable--> $key = $_GET['key']; $file = $_POST['Export']; $hostname = $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME']; $hostname = str_replace('www.', '', $hostname); $file_location = "http://".$hostname."/filelocation/".$file."php?key=".$key; $list = file_get_contents("$file_location"); # filename for download $filename = "$file.txt"; header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"$file\""); header("Content-Type: text/plain"); echo $list; } ?> <form action="" method="post"> <input type=hidden value="$file" name="Export"> <input type=submit value="Export"></form> If I can get the user to place a key in a simple input box (through a javascript pop-up after they've clicked the button) then I can post the variable and retrieve the data. Any ideas? Hate to ask this as I know it's an easy one but surprisingly Google turns up no clear/simple answers! I'm modifying some old code and am not JS programmer (I'm a PHP programmer) and this is driving me nuts. The existing code makes sure that when the form is submitted that there isn't a missing value. There's also some hidden input values. The JS starts out function checkform(orderform) and the form tag includes onsubmit="return checkform(this);"> I can add an alert to the form to see varius input values, such as a hidden value for the input name 'description' I can use: alert (orderform.description.value) Eazy peazy. However the form has two different input type=image buttons now and I need to do some branching in the JS depending on which image button they press. I recall IE had an issue where it only sends the x and y coordinates So I figure an easy to determine which image button was pressed is just check to see if the x or y value for each button is non-zero. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to access the value. Example: alert (orderform.button1.x.value) doesn't work. Can someone refresh my memory or suggest an entirely different method for detecting which image button was used to submit a form? THanks in advance! My swf.js file is getting hacked along with some jquery files, they are injecting cross browser hacking script to .js files. Please help me how can I protect it? this is my table: --------------------------------- Request| Project name| Quantity| --------------------------------- 1 | ABC | 20 | 2 | ABC | 4 | 3 | ABC | 11 | ---------------------------------- quantity is the column which i want to update, this value is displayed in text field. user can edit the quantity of all the request and update all the text field together. this is my update sql: <cfquery datasource="DB"> UPDATE tablename SET quantity = #Form.quantity# WHERE projectName = #projectName# I am getting error from WHERE clause. any idea how to solve it? thanks in advance Ok - I'm using an 'off the peg' shopping cart (Mal's e-commerce) that posts items to the cart using a standard form with a submit button. What I want to do is send an item to the cart 'automatically', that is without the user actually filling a form or pressing a 'submit' button. What I send to the cart will be dependant upon the value of a cookie that will have been set at some earlier point in the session. My plan was to use document.write statements to build the 'form' and send it to the shopping cart... Here is the kind of form i will be creating: <form method="post" /> <input type="hidden" name="product" value="XXXXXXXX" /> <input type="hidden" name="price" value="0.00" /> <input type="hidden" name="qty" value="1" /> <input type="submit" value="add to basket" /> </form> 1) 1st problem the product value "XXXXXXXX" actually needs to be 'constructed' out of text plus the value held in the cookie eg... 'here is your COOKIEVALUE product' what i was going to try here was "here is your" + COOKIEVALUE + "product" which doesn't work - but that's what I'm trying to achieve. 2) 2nd problem is the submit 'button' needs to be an automatic 'invisible' action - i don't actually want to give them a button to click i just want to submit it from the coding. Hope that makes some kind of sense! |
