JavaScript - Javascript Image Blinking
Hi
Everyone, I am interested to create one neon light effect using javascript (let's call it a club logo animation), Now I know, that I can achieve image blinking effect using javascript, but when I use this effect, the image blinks continuously. I would like to blink it only for 2-3 times. also I would like to blink four images, one after anohter, and sometimes two together. I know it seems bit complicated, but not for experts like this forum have Thanks in advance for your help. Similar TutorialsHi Community, I am running simple web cam streaming to html. Let me explain how it works: First C code grabs frame from web cam and PHP code send the image to the client where exists receiver php code. It saves the submitted image to disk and javascript updates image every 0.1 sec or less. it is working fine but there is blinking. So I changed Javascript to avoid blinking (changed to other script). In this case streaming is fine but after 2-5 sec it stops updating. here is script: <head> <title> Streaming</title> </head> <body> <!-- <img name="frame" src="" border="0" /> --> <img src="" id="webcam1" width="640" height="480" border="5" alt="Camera1"/> <script language="javascript"> document.images.webcam1.src = "http://my_IP_address/img.jpg"; document.images.webcam1.onload = Start; function LoadImage() { uniq1 = Math.random(); document.images.webcam1.src = "http://my_IP_address/img.jpg?"+uniq1; document.images.webcam1.alt = uniq1; } function Start() { setTimeout("LoadImage();", 70); } </script> </body> </html> Where is mistake? Why it stops updating after 2-5 seconds every time. Please help! Thank you I have written a small code in Javascript which does the work of blinking all the content inside any tag with the name 'blink' here is the code <html> <body> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <p name="blink" style="visibility: visible;">This text blinks using Javascript</p> <script type="text/javascript"> function blinkText() { var x=document.getElementsByName('blink'); for(i=0;i<x.length;i++) { if(x[i].style.visibility=='visible') x[i].style.visibility='hidden'; else x[i].style.visibility='visible'; } } setTimeout('blinkText()',500); </script> </body> </html> I use a Ubuntu system and work on Mozilla 3.6.18 This hides the text successfully but does not display it again What can be wrong here? Can anyone please help me I would like to create a caret for a textarea like the one he http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/s...4576#post74576 it works great if I want a white background but when I changed it to black and tried to change the textarea's text color to yellow: Code: <textarea type="text" id="setter" style="color:yellow;"onkeydown="writeit(this, event);moveIt(this.value.length, event)" onkeyup="writeit(this, event)" onkeypress="writeit(this, event);"></textarea> I don't see anything on the screen other than the blinking cursor http://www.primedesigning.com/ellis/ I'm working on a site for a friend and I can't figure out what's causing this blinking! Hover over one of the 3 pictures in the "Products" section to see what I'm talking about (the larger, expanded picture and its border blinks on and off). BTW, this site is still under construction. Any design ideas you guys may have would be appreciated too Thanks for any help! Hello, I am working on a page that has a jQuery full browser BG image and I am trying to also utilize a MooTools gallery. There seems to be some interference between the two JavaScripts as only one works (whichever one is last in order in the header of the HTML document). Links: http://www.courtneyhunt.com.au/press_bg.html http://www.courtneyhunt.com.au/press_gallery.html I am a complete novice with JavaScript so if anyone could help that would be great. Thank you in advance. Hi I've searched this forum and found nothing that fits my problem. I used Gimp. I have a map that I have split up into about 5 regions that are all linked to Google for now. (links to be changed later on). I selected the JavaScript tab an then typed into the mouseover box. Here is part of the code it produces in the .map file: <area shape="poly" coords="205,32,159,34,150,83,124,122,114,154,133,175,140,199,159,222,176,217,185,214,223,194,224,173 ,231,155,235,130,224,124,215,107,213,82,212,71" alt="google" onmouseover="img src="http://i42.tinypic.com/14oc0lj.jpg"" href="http://www.google.com" /> The " bit looks wrong so I took it out and it still doesn't do anything when I mouseover. I've tried linking it to a file within my website folders as well as hosted on the internet. Any ideas please? The links work but the mouseover effect doesn't. I tried testing the original file/script with alternate images/jpgs to see if my images were messing things up but it was fine, yet when i use MY webpage in MY root folder it doesn't work. so is there something wrong with my rootfolder that is messing up the javascript? i'm pulling my hair out because the code looks fine to me. please help! thanks!! jason I was wondering if it was possible to get java to display images that have the same name but diff numbers like: Soccer*** Displays; Soccer001 Soccer002 Soccer003 Soccer004 .... So on and so forth. Sorry the question isn't worded well lol I followed this tutorial to create a clickable image slideshow with javascript on a site's homepage. However, it appears that the javascript:slidelink() is still running beyond the intended area as some of my content below the container is now underlined as if it were a link, when it should not be. I can tell that the script is the issue because when hovering over the content it shows "javascript:slidelink()" but will not go to anything when clicked. Here is the code I'm using, which is placed in a Wordpress theme container: Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- //preload images var image1=new Image() image1.src="image1.png" var image2=new Image() image2.src="image2.png" var image3=new Image() image3.src="image3.png" var image4=new Image() image4.src="image4.png" var image5=new Image() image5.src="image5.png" var image6=new Image() image6.src="image6.png" //--> </script> </head> <body> <a href="javascript:slidelink()"> <img src="image1.png" name="slide" width="100" /> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var step=1 var whichimage=1 function slideit(){ if (!document.images) return document.images.slide.src=eval("image"+step+".src") whichimage=step if (step<3) step++ else step=1 setTimeout("slideit()",1800) } slideit() function slidelink(){ if (whichimage==1) window.location="link1.htm" else if (whichimage==2) window.location="link2.htm" else if (whichimage==3) window.location="link3.htm" else if (whichimage==4) window.location="link4.htm" else if (whichimage==5) window.location="link5.htm" else if (whichimage==6) window.location="link6.htm" } //--> </script> </body> </html> Can anyone spot what might be causing the issue? Thanks in advance! So im making a game in javascript and i recently found out about image maps and i dont understand how they work very well. Pritty much when you would click a specific spot it would change the picture to a different image map?
I need a JavaScript image changer like this: When you mouse over photo1.jpg, it will change to photo2.jpg. When you mouse over photo2.jpg it will change to photo 3.jpg and so on untill photo5.jpg. Please keep this in JavaScript form :) Can someone point me in the right direction to making custom javascript image slideshow transitions?
http://www.muffettandsons.com/specproductstest.html Follow the link above and click on the pic to the right to open the pop up image gallery. For some reason the thumbs do not appear in the left preview pane until a rollover of the preview pane slide bar. This only occurs in IE. Firefox and Chrome both show the thumbs when opened and work just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks Hello everybody. i need to know how can i draw lines over images using javascript libraries. i already did that using wz_jsgraphics library but what do i need next is to be able to move the drawn line and change its position or be able to delete it if i no longer need it . i need to treat draw lines as if they were objects in their common sense. how can i do that ? any help will be greatly appreciated. Hi guys I'm really stumped on this, and I haven't been able to find a tutorial online anywhere. I'm trying to create an XML news feed for a company's website I am currently building. I have created the XML, and gotten the text to display perfectly in the HTML by using javascript. Now I want to add a thumbnail image for each news story, to make updating simpler, I wanted the url for the thumbnail to be entered into the XML, from which the javascript could read and then display in the corresponding area in the HTML. Is this even possible? Every tutorial I get when I use the terms "Image" and "Javascript" gives me a tutorial for a gallery or a slideshow which is not what I want at all. Below is the javascript code, followed by the XML code; Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var xmlDoc; <!-- if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { xhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else // Internet Explorer 5/6 { xhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xhttp.open("GET","SDS.xml",false); xhttp.send(""); xmlDoc=xhttp.responseXML; var x=xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("NEWS"); i=0; function display() { title=(x[i].getElementsByTagName("TITLE")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue.fontsize("5").fontcolor("white").bold()); date=(x[i].getElementsByTagName("DATE")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue.fontsize("2").fontcolor("white").bold()); stitle=(x[i].getElementsByTagName("STITLE")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue.fontsize("3").fontcolor("white").italics()); story=(x[i].getElementsByTagName("STORY")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue.fontsize("3").fontcolor("white")); txt= title + "<br />" + date + "<br />" + stitle + "<br />" + story; document.getElementById("show").innerHTML=txt; } //--> </script> XML code Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <BULLETIN> <NEWS> <PIC>"/newssmall.jpg"</PIC> <DATE>14/3/2010</DATE> <TITLE>News Story 1</TITLE> <STITLE>This is a short sentence to describe the story in brief</STITLE> <STORY>This is the text of the news story</STORY> </NEWS> </BULLETIN> Thanks to anyone that even reads this, I'm probably making a nooby mistake, I only started using JS and XML on Monday so I'm still learning lol Right now I have the code set up so that cards are displayed in on the screen and then when the card is clicked it flips. My question is how do I organize the cards into rows of 7? So I would like for each row to have 7 cards. Then after the card is flipped how do I make it move to the last row? Currently this is the code that I have: Code: <html> <head> <script language="JavaScript"> { //These are the first button graphics thumb1= new Image(); thumb1.src = "75/back-blue-75-3.png"; hover1 = new Image(); hover1.src = "75/clubs-2-75.png"; //These are the second button graphics thumb2= new Image(); thumb2.src = "75/back-blue-75-3.png"; hover2 = new Image(); hover2.src = "75/clubs-q-75.png"; //These are the third button graphics thumb3= new Image(); border="0" name="icon51"/></a> </body> </html> I need to do image cropping through javascript(without jquery) my requirement is just to get the coordinates through some callback function whenever user crop the image and click an ok button please help me with some javascript code here Hi guys, I already posted this but it hasn't been approved by a mod or the mods are all at lunch or something lol. I want to display an image using javascript instead of HTML (or use javascript to change the HTML code dynamically when an update is made). I have created an XML file, which contains text data which is displayed in HTML by using Javascript. What I am having trouble with is getting Javascript to grab the image URL from the XML file, and then display that image in the correct div. How does one show an image by using javascript? and how do you get javascript to get the url from the XML? The following is my Javascript code which grabs the text from the XML and displays it in the HTML; Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var xmlDoc; <!-- if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { xhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else // Internet Explorer 5/6 { xhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xhttp.open("GET","SDS.xml",false); xhttp.send(""); xmlDoc=xhttp.responseXML; var x=xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("NEWS"); i=0; function display() { title=(x[i].getElementsByTagName("TITLE")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue.fontsize("5").fontcolor("white").bold()); date=(x[i].getElementsByTagName("DATE")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue.fontsize("2").fontcolor("white").bold()); stitle=(x[i].getElementsByTagName("STITLE")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue.fontsize("3").fontcolor("white").italics()); story=(x[i].getElementsByTagName("STORY")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue.fontsize("3").fontcolor("white")); txt= title + "<br />" + date + "<br />" + stitle + "<br />" + story; document.getElementById("show").innerHTML=txt; } //--> </script> And this is the XML file; Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <BULLETIN> <NEWS> <PIC>"newssmall.jpg"</PIC> <DATE>14/3/2010</DATE> <TITLE>News Story 1</TITLE> <STITLE>This is a short sentence to describe the story in brief</STITLE> <STORY>This is the text of the news story</STORY> </NEWS> </BULLETIN> So what I want to do is create a function that grabs the url (relative) from the PIC tag in the XML ("newssmall.jpg") and then uses this URL to display the image on the HTML page. This way, only the XML needs updating when updating the news section of the site. Thanks for helping if you can, Dan |
