JavaScript - How To Hide The Redirection Code In This Form
hello,
I am trying to figure out how to hide the direction page in this code: I want to hide: www.ipage.com/mail/index.bml <INPUT TYPE="submit" NAME="Log In" VALUE="Check Mail" onclick="javascript:login.action='http://www.ipage.com/mail/index.bml?s=1';javascript:login.destination.value = '/mailadmin/index.bml?check=1';" > </TD> <TD> <INPUT TYPE="submit" NAME="Log In" VALUE="Manage Mail" onclick="javascript:login.action='https://secure.ipage.com/mailLogin';javascript:login.destination.value = '/mailadmin/index.bml?manage=1';"> any help is appreciated.... Similar TutorialsI'm a non-web programmer being forced to do some web programming. My immediate problem is that, on submission of a form, I need to be able to open a url (that I control) with the filled-in form values appended to the new url. In other words, I need to be able to do the equivalent of : Code: <form> <input name="key1" type="text"/> <input name="key2" type="text"/> <input type="button" value="Submit" onclick="window.open('http://new.domain.com/newpage.html?key1=val1&key2=val2')"/> </form> I would really like to do this without server-side code. Pointers? TIA Hello all! As it could not be otherwise, in my first post here, I have a horribly simple problem... I'm currently working on a homepage for my browser, where I have many frequently used links, and I'm trying to implement some search engines too. The one I'm working on is simply, a predefined URL, and the input text string at the end. For example: "http://www.example.com/search/(textinput)" This is the code I have so far: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function gosearch() { var srchstring = document.getElementById('string').value; var resulturl = 'http://www.example.com/search/' + srchstring; window.location.href = resulturl; } </script> <form name="searchform" onsubmit="gosearch();"> <input id="string" size="31" maxlength="255" value="" /> <input type="submit" value="Search!" /> </form> But what happens by using this code, is that, to the current URL, a "?" gets added, as if the code tried to send some info using GET. I could do this quite easily using PHP, but as I want to use this locally, I cannot use any server-side code... Besides the fact that I want to learn some JScript too. Thanks for your help. Hello. My goal is for the user's input on their first visit to redirect their landing page in the future. I am a novice and any help is very much appreciated. The form's drop down menu includes three cities (Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver). When the user presses "submit form", the script should create a cookie to store the user's city selection. Next time the user visits the site, they should be redirected to their city's site, ie. "/vancouver.html" Right now, the code is returning an error from the onload("redirect();") function. The error indicates I am trying to redirect to "/[object HTMLSelectElement].html", but I am not sure if the trouble is in reading or writing the cookie. For simplicity, I've removed most of the other content from this page (my cookie.js is attached as a .doc): Code: <title>Site Title</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="cookie.js"></script> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> function redirect() { userCity = readCookie ("user_city"); if (userCity) { window.location.replace(userCity + ".html"); } else { window.location.replace("index.html"); } } function setCity(box) { { var userCity =(document.welcomeSignUp.userCity); for (i=0; i<userCity.length; i++) { if (userCity[i].name != box.name) { userCity[i].selectedIndex = 0; } } } writeCookie("user_city", userCity, 5 * 365); } </script> <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" /> </head> <body> <form id="welcomeSignUp" action="" method="get" name="welcomeSignUp" onload="redirect();"> Your Email address: <input type="text" name="email" value="" size ="20" /> <br /> Choose Your City: <select name="userCity" size="20"> <option value="one">Calgary</option> <option value="two">Toronto</option> <option value="three">Vancouver</option> </select> <a href="index.html"><button class="rounded" onclick="setCity(this);"> <span>submit form</span> </button></a> </form> </body> </html> I have a form in an iframe that submits nicely. Here is one of the hidden fields that gives the page to redirect to after submitting the form: Code: <input type="hidden" name="rtrn" value="http://www.domain.com/thanks.html" target="_parent"> The parent target doesn't work, does anyone know how I get the thanks page to replace the page containing the iframe? Hi every one Following is the situation I want a solution for, -I have a form whose contents are forwarded to a mailer program hosted on a server which sends out emails. So basically the form data is submitted to one Mailer page (I have no control over the mailer program). -After the form has been submitted the mailer program redirects to a default page or the "return " page specified by me..again redirects no matter what I have no control over it... -Now instead of being redirected to a page I want the form contents to be submitted to another php page which will appear after the form has been submitted to the mailer page and display the contents of the form originally submitted. Basically I want to submit to 2 different pages I know thats possible but I do not know how to get around the redirection from mailer page. I thought of having the second php page to be the redirect page with all form data sent in query string however data fields are too many to send over get. Is there anyway around this in javascript? Its very complex to explain..I hope some one can help I hope following crude visualisation helps currently submit form to------------->Mailer page (It redirects to any page specified) form to | | |------->Page2.php (Want this to appear after form has been submitted to mailer page but mailer page redirects..) Regards, Aditya I know it is impossible to protect js. Minify and obfuscation don't seem very effective. But I ran across code like this, which could not be unobfuscated via simple methods. It appears to have non ascii characters (which I didn't know was possible). I would like to know how to create this same effect to help improve my protection. I realize it will not be highly secure, but something should be better than nothing. A portion of the .js: `XEnE)J:2\x00dzA\ EDIT: That doesn't work since the forum can only interpret ascii. But in the actual .js there are non ascii characters. What was done to achieve this? Hello all, I am creating a blog and I thought it would be cool to have the Konami code in it. Basically, I would like is to either show or hide a div when the code is entered. So lets say the Div is hidden, they would enter the code and it would then show. If it was entered while the div was shown, it would then hide. Is there any way to do this? I think there would be, but I don't know how to accomplish it. Here's a link to the Konami code I'm using: Code: if ( window.addEventListener ) { var state = 0, konami = [38,38,40,40,37,39,37,39,66,65]; window.addEventListener("keydown", function(e) { if ( e.keyCode == konami[state] ) state++; else state = 0; if ( state == 10 ) window.location = "http://example.com"; }, true); } Thank you! Could anyone tell me what I've doing wrong, on first click it detects that the div is hidden and makes it visible, button on second click it does nothing: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html> <head> <link href="basic.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> function hideshow(id) { if (document.getElementById(id).style.visibility = "hidden") { document.getElementById(id).style.visibility = "visible"; } else { document.getElementById(id).style.visibility = "hidden"; } } </script> </head> <body> <div id="test" onclick="hideshow('test2')"> </div> <div id="test2" style="visibility:hidden"> </div> </body> </html> Hi, I know nothing about javascript but I was able to handle the instructions to install the login/password featu http://www.javascriptkit.com/script/...ginpass2.shtml works great! however, when someone views the source code, they're able to see what the password is. additionally they can see the url of the page it would take them if they entered the password. how do i protect against this vulnerability? thanks in advance! Within a function I have the following ... Quote: document.getElementById(button).display='none'; However it just errors and says button is undefined. button is the id and name of the form button btw. Do I need to define which form it is part of or something else? Many thanks for any pointers or help. Sir P I have a form with three fields. When the user changes the value of field1, the form displays either field2 or field3. This works fine for NEW records. However, I'm running into a problem when trying to EDIT an existing record. When the form is loaded, I need to test the value of field1 and display either field2 or field3. I've tried using the form onload event, but do not know how to access the value of field1. I'm using Javascript and div tags. This is what I have so far. <script type="text/javascript"> function hide(obj) obj1 = document.getElementById(obj); obj1.style.display = 'none'; } function show(obj) { obj1 = document.getElementById(obj); obj1.style.display = 'block'; } function show_other(optionValue) { if(optionValue=='C') { show('divClass');} else{hide('divClass'); } if(optionValue=='W') { show('divWorkshop');} else{hide('divWorkshop'); } } </script> /* Field1 - is a drop down list */ <select name="ClassType" size="1" onchange="show_other(this.value)"> ... </select> /* Field2 */ <div id="divClass"> ... </div> /* Field 3 */ <div id="divWorkshop"> ... </div> Appreciate any assistance. Thanks Peter Hi all - first post - I'm not too hot on javascript so I don't know if this can be done nor how to search for it in the forum because I don't know what keywords to use - but if I give an idea of what I want to do, perhaps someone can suggest an idea of how to proceed? I have two left floated divs - in the left div I want a series of drop downs (possibly check boxes as well) about a series of products. When the user makes their decision and presses submit, I want the form to submit to a javascript function that says "Right, you will need, from your responses, product C" and in the right hand floated div, a series of hidden product info divs whose visibility is changed depending on which product the function determines is the one for you. Broken down into parts I think I need to do the following: a) Standard HTML form with drop downs etc and submit b) Hidden divs c) Submission process locally to javascript function to determine which product to show/hide d) Javascript function that makes the decision e) Javascript that hides/shows products Unfortunately a server side option is not available; it has to be a client side solution and I only could think of javascript. I can probably handle all bar c) and d) - any pointers, help or suggestions would be great thanks! cheers frank The Script works in Firefox, BUT not in Internet Explorer. What am I missing? I need Drop Down menu Boxes to appear when User clicks on a certian Menu option. The way it appears now on the website is all the boxes appear. They should stay "hidden" until a User clicks on the drop down menu selection.
