Is there anything I can change in that code to make this happen? Similar TutorialsHI every one i want to disallow users to change a text input values . I don't want to use disabled tag of text input because of some problem . I just want to disallow users to enter or change a text input value . How can I do so ? thanks Hey guys, I have been trying to get better at my javascript as of late and there is this one particular color fading technique I have found that I am having trouble dissecting. The following code appears to be how they are making a rollover go from a dark gray to a subtle light gray with a nice fade but I can't exactly tell whats going on from the code. Is it just telling it to add a rgb point in so many seconds? Any professional help would be greatly appreciated. Code: colorInit= true}b.elem.style[a]="rgb("+Math.max(Math.min(parseInt(b.pos*(b.end[0]-b.start[0])+b.start[0],0),255),0)+","+Math.max(Math.min(parseInt(b.pos*(b.end[1]-b.start[1])+b.start[1],10),255),0)+","+Math.max(Math.min(parseInt(b.pos*(b.end[2]-b.start[2])+b.start[2],0),255),0)+")"}}); I work at a college radio station and our brand new website just went live, but we're having one particular issue... We have a set list of shows that air each day, and on the site we have a marquee tag on the homepage that scrolls through showing each show and its broadcast time. Right now we're stuck changing this schedule each day by hand, but it's tough considering we're all college students ourselves and sometimes our own schedules simply don't allow the time. Is there a code that would allow this kind of a daily update to happen automatically? The format for the schedule is such: 4 - 5 pm // "Show 01" 5 - 6 pm // "Show 02" 6 - 8 pm // "Show 03" 8 - 10 pm // "Show 04" 10 - 12 am // "Show 05" Any help would be very much appreciated! I am very new to coding, trying to teach myself some javascript. I know this is a very simple code, I just can't seem to nail down what is going wrong. Feeling really stupid right now. Heres the code: Code: <html> <head> <script language="JavaScript"> var choice=confirm("Press ok for black. Press cancel for red."); if (choice==true){ document.bgColor="yellow"; document.fgColor="black"; } else { document.bgColor="red"; document.fgColor="white"; } </script> <body> <p>words</p> </body> </html> If someone could take a second to set me straight, I would really appreciate it. btw: hope I posted all this according to the "rules". I tried Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="external.php?type=js"></script> <script language="" type="text/javascript"> <!-- for (x = 0; x < 10; x++) { document.writeln("<a href=\"showthread.php?t="+threads[x].threadid+"\">"+threads[x].title+"</a>, "); } //--> </script> My code will display 10 posts, however at the very end it will display an extra ", " which bugs me. How can I strip those last two characters. I'm using forum with bb rich text editor, the problem that sometimes when a user copy and paste content, there ere extra codes that are not supported like: Code: [highlight=#ff0000][/highlight] [blockquote][/blockquote] [CENTER ALIGN=CENTER][/CENTER ALIGN] Can you help me to write a script that automatically reformat the html content when pasted and only keeps specified tags like [img],[url],[b], defined in array ... If it is not possible to reformat content when paste, I can add a button to the editor and call that function to format the content and return plain text with a specific tags. I tried this script: Code: function removeHtmlTag(strx){ if(strx.indexOf("[")!=-1) { var s = strx.split("["); for(var i=0;i<s.length;i++){ if(s[i].indexOf("]")!=-1){ s[i] = s[i].substring(s[i].indexOf("]")+1,s[i].length); } } strx = s.join(""); } return strx+''; } It made to strip html tags, I replaced <> with [], It removes all tags and don't put space instead of the removed tags, example: Code: hello[h1]Name[/h1] Will be like : helloName ??? I got an idea to make a stupid trick, like converting [IMG] to {IMG} and run that function and re convert {IMG} to [IMG] ... Please help, I'm not good in Regular Expressions. Thanks for your time, Regards. Is there any way to use javascript to strip codes or text from a webpage.
There is a comment section on a blog that I follow, and the blogmaster decided to try to put in a preview button. I found a site that had some code purporting to do just this http://ramui.com/Java_script_code_ex...html-code.html He pulled the code down and inserted it, making what appeared to be no significant changes. The actual code used: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function showPreview() { var s=document.getElementById('comment').value; if((s.length>1000)||(s.length<1)){alert("Code length must be within 1 to 1000 characters."); return false;} document.getElementById('commentpreview').innerHTML=s; } </script> with the invoking code as: Code: <input type="button" value="Preview" onclick="javascript:showPreview()" /> Unfortunately, the preview strips all hard carriage returns and multiple spaces out. The result is one long paragraph that is more unreadable than the original. What can be done to keep the formatting? Hello all is it possible to strip leading (meaning at the VERY begining of the text) and trailing (anything at the end of the text) carriage returns with reg ex? so if smbody enters return return return start txt entry ----> keep all other returns in paragraph sloppy ending retrun return return it would remove the start and end returns I'd like to add it to this if possible. Code: comts = comts.replace(/^\s+|\s+$/g,""); // strip leading and trailing spaces low tech (validation script done trying to improve on it now) So I have a little calendar widget on my site, for people to choose their dates for a reservation system. They then click a 'Book Now' button which creates a dynamic url (using their start date and the number of dates) to the booking engine. The problem is, the way it accomplishes this (window.location.href=), breaks cross-domain tracking on Google Analytics. And I'm not smart enough to figure out how to do it any other way. What I'd like to do is have clicking the Book Now button change the URL in the form action within the form with ID resForm, and then submit the form. I'm hoping someone can help me edit the form so that it accomplishes this. I'd be incredibly thankful. This is what I currently have: Code: <script> jQuery(document).ready(function($) { $(".book-now").click(function() { if($('#check-in').length > 0 && $('#DepartureDate').val() != '') { var data = $('#check-in').val(); var arr = data.split('/'); var datac = $('#DepartureDate').val(); var arr2 = datac.split('/'); var oneDay = 24*60*60*1000; // hours*minutes*seconds*milliseconds var firstDate = new Date(arr[2],arr[0] -1,arr[1]); var secondDate = new Date(arr2[2],arr2[0] -1,arr2[1]); var diffDays = Math.round((firstDate.getTime() - secondDate.getTime())/(oneDay)); if ((diffDays) < 0) { diffDays = Math.abs(diffDays); var link = "https://res.windsurfercrs.com/bbe/page1.aspx?propertyID=13841&checkin=" + arr[0] + "/" + arr[1] + "/" + arr[2] + "&nights=" + diffDays; console.log(link); window.location.href= link; } else { alert ('Please fill in correct Check-In and Check-Out dates. The Check-In date must be before the Check-Out date.'); } } else { alert ('Please fill in a Check-In and Check-Out date, thanks!'); } }); }); </script> The form looks like this: Code: <form action="#" onSubmit="_gaq.push(['_linkByPost',this]);" method="post" id="resForm"> <input type='text' name="checkin" id="check-in" readonly="readonly" style="cursor: text" data-default="MM/DD/YYYY" class='arrivaldate'/> <input name="checkout" id="DepartureDate" readonly="readonly" style="cursor: text" data-default="MM/DD/YYYY" class='departuredate'/> <input type="button" value="BOOK NOW" class='book-now' /> </form> Reply With Quote 01-25-2015, 12:46 AM #2 Old Pedant View Profile View Forum Posts Supreme Master coder! I have an iframe on my page which currently shows a separate website (one that i do not control). I'm trying to have the iframe automatically scroll to the bottom of the page. I have a scrolling div that has overflow set to hidden. I currently have it set up with a script that allows it to click and drag to scroll. However, I need some kind of visual indicator to show that you can scroll (sometimes it isn't obvious). I want to know if there's a way to have an image appear until you scroll to one end of the list or the other (the image can be inside the div, or outside). So in other words, there would be a down arrow at the bottom of the list any time you can scroll down (aka everywhere but the bottom) and an up arrow any time you can scroll up (aka everywhere but the top). Some type of fade out animation would also be nice, but not necessary if it over-complicates things. They would just be images, not functioning buttons. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you. I am trying to use these two js codes in one page: http://acrisdesign.com/2010/03/jquer...on-hoverclick/ http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/ They both work perfectly fine except when both linked up at the same time. Only the last one will work. I've tried to find how the codes are working when the page loads in order to fix that problem but I cant figure it out for these two specific codes. Thanks. I'm admittedly green in this area [among others!], but will there be any issues with any browsers loading the url below with the scripts at the bottom of the page like I have them? http://alton.k12.mo.us/index.html FF loads them fine for me, as does IE *until* I hit the compatibility mode button, then it seems to sort of "hang"...but with IE, I'm not really ever sure of what it's doing is correct or not? |
